Hey I’m Shiree ‘The Hair Icon” Im the owner of Hair Icon Beauty Bar!

How long have you worked as a licensed cosmetologist (or equivalent in your country) and where did you study?

I’ve been a professional licensed Cosmetologist for 9 years and licensed instructor for 3 years

What is your specialty, relaxed, natural hair, locs or anything special?

My specialty’s are all types of Hair Extentions.. Sew Ins, Quickweves. Micro links, Etc

What in your opinion is the most rewarding thing about working as a hair stylist?

I’ve learned that Cosmetologist can be counselors when people are down, encouraging when people feel defeated, and friends. I change lives daily.

When you meet that customer that has not had a great experience with a previous stylist, how do you make them comfortable while in your chair?

I find out about the last experience, details about what went wrong, so that I do not do the same! I make them feel comfortable with me and the salon. Most importantly I do a proper consultation so I can learn them, so they’re little room for error

If you could change one thing about the cosmetology industry what would that be?

One thing would have to be the lack of professionalism! Hairstylists sometimes get focused on getting the most people in and out of there chair they forget about customer service.

Where do you see yourself a few years from now, what are your goals as a stylist?

My Goals as an stylist? Salon Owner is to be prosperous in my product development. I recently launched a cordless flatiron which was designed for the professional that is active with working behind the scenes and cant always be near an outlet to style.

How do you stay motivated and on top of your game?

I stay motivated by staying active in my craft! I always go to trade shows. classes and networking events to stay current in an always evolving Industry!

I am a professional that cares. I believe in Healthy hair and truely promote that. I love Glam and I’m passionate about what I do! I focus on Pleasing my clients to insure they are repeats.
