Big Fluffy Faux Wand Curls On Natural Hair

Capture

Wand curls have been blowing up all around the natural hairosphere (see what I did there?) . From different hair textures to different hair lengths, many youtube vloggers and non vloggers have been rocking wand curls.

Wand curls are typically achieved through, well, a wand curler, which is also a heating tool without a clamper that you wrap your hair around. If you do not own a wand or curler or want to refrain from using heat on your natural hair ; Don’t fret! Because, Youtuber Nessa Dee shows us how she achieves her fluffy, voluminous wand curls without the wand curler!

Items Used  To Achieve This Hairstyle

Moisturizer- In this tutorial, Nessa Dee uses Darcys Sweet Coco Bean Moisturizer and her shea butter* mix is here but you can use any hair moisturizer that you prefer or a mix of moisturizers like Nessa Dee uses here if you want extra goodness for your strands.

Oil– Evening Primrose Oil* is used here but you can use any oil from coconut oil* to castor oil*.

Bobby Pins*– To hold the “wand curls” in place.

Length Needed To Achieve This Style

This style works on any hair length that can be wrapped around your finger essentially. So it can depend on how small or large your sections are, and how small or large your fingers are.

I can also assume that you can make different size curls with different fingers, which is pretty cool. This style is done on stretched hair and even though Nessa Dee does her curls on blow dried hair, you can stretch your hair through a variety of ways. You can stretch your hair via African threading (which is probably the closes to get to blow dried hair) twists, braids, etc. If you have relaxed and transitioning hair, you can also achieve this style!

In the video below, Nessa Dee shows us how she creates her big, fluffy Wand Curls!
