A Boho Chic Protective Style Consisting of Two Simple French Braids

French braidsWhile most of us are gearing up for wash and go season in the back of our minds we know that the constant wetting, shingling and edge controlling can take a toll on our strands.

For me, washing or co-washing my hair once or twice a week is not uncommon especially on hot days and on work out days.

The issue I have is styling, because I refuse to do what we all consider a traditional wash and go with all the gel throughout my hair and having my hair out.

What I would do typically is a wash and go then do a chic bun for a day or so. With that said I am always on the hunt for other styles I can do to turn my wash and go into something other than a bun or having my hair ‘out’.

Recently SimplyBiancaalexa did a Boho chic style that was simply two french braids using extension hair on her wash and go.

If you are into Boho style then this one should be right up your alley. She did her typical wash and go routine, separated her hair into two and french braided each side adding extension hair towards the end to make her hair super long.

I loved the long hair on her, but for me I would probably go a little bit shorter, it all depends on what you prefer. Short braids or long braids the style is super cute and very protective for those days you just cannot be bothered. Summer hair needs to be very versatile so having style options are always a plus.

Check out SimplyBiancaalexa as she describes and demonstrates how she does her boho chic French braids on her wash and go hair:

As commenters on the video pointed out, these braids can give you a break from constantly trying to add moisture to your hair especially if you wear your hair loose and out while enjoying the hot Summer weather.

Additionally she adds hair to the ends so if you do not have the skill of braiding the hair throughout your hair, this tutorial is perfect!
