DIY: How To Make Your Own Orange Vanilla Honey Shampoo

Orange Vanilla Honey ShampooFor all my DIY women out there I have another recipe for you. This one is a fun one and you might have some of the ingredients already in your possession if you are about that DIY life.

Have you ever tried making your own shampoo? If you haven’t you should, at least once or for those days you want to use something mild but effective to cleanse your hair and scalp with.

One of the reasons DIY shampoo’s are awesome is if you are that person who needs to do more than a co-wash and you need a mild option that you have a 100% control over then making your own product could be a great thing.

With this DIY though, you will need a little help from some products that you did not make yourself, like the Dr. Bronners Castile soap, well known for its gentle cleansing and African black soap* also known as an all natural cleanser.

Additionally you will add a little honey* for its anti bacterial and anti fungal properties. In addition to that it is a natural humectant that does not strip the hair of all of its moisture. Check out the recipe:

Orange Vanilla* Honey* Shampoo

1/2 cup of Castile soap ( Dr Bronner’s Citrus or Baby Mild)

3/4 cup of raw honey

1/4 cup authentic African black soap

1 tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar*

1 tsp of sweet orange essential oil

1/2 tsp of vanilla essential oil

To use, just make sure your hair is wet then massage the shampoo on your scalp to ensure that your scalp is clean. rub the scalp gently without scraping it and causing any abrasions.

Once you have finished your cleanse, using conditioner is optional, but you can if you would like. One of the recommended things you can do is a final ACV rince with some cool water to seal your cuticles.

Well there you have it, comment below and let me know if you have ever made your own shampoo!
