Head Wrap And Traditional Turban Tutorial

head wrapYesterday we posted a gallery with 30 head scarf or turban looks you guys can try when protective styling, or if you have a bad hair day.

We were asked a few times to provide a tutorial for wrapping the scarves because as you know sometimes when something looks simple it might not be that simple.

One of the problems I have personally is the scarf slipping off of my hair just as I go about my day. How your scarf looks and holds in place have a lot to do with how your hair is styled underneath and obviously how secure you wrap your fabric.

I tried to find a pretty comprehensive tutorial for you all to use but on youtube there are so many women with turban and scarf ideas you will not be left in the dark if one video does not work for you.

One of the tips we gathered from London Curls is that she braids her hair underneath her scarf which keeps the hair flat and gets rid of lumps.

The other tip we loved was her use of a silk or satin scarf under her regular cotton scarf. The silk scarf* keeps your hair protected from the fabric of your styling scarf.

The scarves that you use to create your look can be made of a cotton mix material which can dry out your hair just like a cotton pillow case.

If this is a protective style you certainly do not want that so wearing something satin underneath is super important especially when you wear head wraps often.

We love her suggestions about getting super creative and colorful with your choice of scarves. We are 100% behind that suggestion because bright colors and patterns are in this season so you can absolutely get creative.
