Turn Your Scarf Into A Cute Grecian Headband

Fotor0102416140There are hundreds of ways to turn your simple, everyday scarf into a super cute headband*. This tutorial is a take on a Grecian braid, and it’s one of the most recent tutorials that I’ve seen. This one is also one of my favorites. It takes less than 5 minutes to do this style, and all you need is a scarf.

The scarf that she uses in the video is from H&M, however you can use almost any long scarf that you have laying around in your closet. It’s good to use a scarf that you would normally wear around your neck. With the plethora of scarves out there, you can find one with a cute pattern that matches both your style and your outfit, since scarves are a great accessory.

You can wear this scarf on practically any hair style, but it’s great for spicing up an old hairstyle like a braid out, twist out, or Wash n Go. It can help you stretch a few more days before washing. It looks great on textured hair (hair that had previously braided, twisted, or put into Bantu Knots).

What to Do:

Simply take your long scarf and fold it into a triangle (if it’s a square shape), or into itself horizontally. If the scarf has turned into a triangle, take it next, and fold the tip into the scarf until it’s a long rectangular shape.

Grab the scarf with both hands and place it at the back of your head. Take your hair and pull it up from underneath the scarf (like you’re doing a pineapple) so that it will be smooth and stretched. You want the scarf to be taut across your head but not too tight.

Bring both sides to the front of your head but do not knot. Make a two strand twist with the ends of the scarf. After making the two strand twist, hold the base of the twist secure and begin to wrap the twist around the scarf. She places it in the middle of the scarf, but of course you can move it wherever you want to.

This is a super easy style, and one that I’m excited to try myself! It’s something different, and keeps your hair up and out of the way. This is great for women who are lazy or that only have a few minutes to actually style their hair. Try it and let us know what you think!
