3 Ways To Spice Up A Hairstyle Fail

Solange KnowlesWe have all had these days before. You spend the night before hanging out, going to a wedding, or just going to work trying out a new hairstyle.

You just know that your twist out or bantu knot out is going to be the bomb when you wake up, so you go to sleep with a huge smile on your face. You wake up, release your hairstyle, and then realize that the hairstyle that you knew was going to be the most epic hairstyle ever turns out to be a flop.

You then freak out and get all, “What do I do, I cannot go out with my hair looking like this!”. Well we have some perfect solutions for those days. Below, we have listed three different ways to turn a hairstyle fail into a hairstyle success!

1. The Puff

So maybe it is just me, but I think that the puff is one of the most gorgeous hairstyles that we can rock on our natural hair.

When that bantu knot out turns out to be a bantu ‘knock out’ a puff can always save the day. It is a hairstyle that universally flatters any natural and takes seconds to put together.

To create a puff, take a soft bristled brush (or your hands) and brush your hair backwards to smooth. Take an elastic hairband or a cut-off knee high , pull over your head, and push the elastic band backwards until your hair has the desired puff shape.

If you want you can then take some gel and a brush to smooth the edges, tie a scarf around the edges, and leave the scarf on for 15-20 minutes. Afterwards remove the scarf and then you are good to go!

2. A gorgeous turban

A turban is an awesome accessory that can make any lady look like a queen. Turbans are also excellent to rock when your hairstyle is not allowing you to feel so regal.

There are many ways to rock a turban. If you have a gorgeous piece of fabric or scarf, the ways that you can tie a turban is endless. You can go with a simple Eartha Kitt style wrap or create a complex design that gives you a Nigerian bride look. Have a fun!

3. The Halo Braid

If that braid out did not turn out the way that you envisioned it to, no need to fear because the halo braid is here. The halo braid is an universally flattering hairstyle that can take between 10-15 minutes to recreate.

Having a failed braid out or twist out makes a great stretched foundation for your halo braid. To create one, simply create an off centered part that goes all the way to the back of your head.

One side of your head should have more hair than the other side. Take one side, and create one large cornrow going towards the back of your head then braid the hanging ends.

Repeat on the other side of your head. Twist the ends of both the ends, and pin up. You should then have a halo braid. This is a perfect hairstyle for  a chill, casual day.

So there you have it, quick, easy fundamental styles that can save the day.
