Hairstyle How-To: French Twist

See more here: http://frannyslonghair.blogspot.com

This protective hairstyle is a classic updo that can be worn for daytime or for evening, depending on how it's accessorized. This is my first video. I hope to get better at it. :)

I've slowed down every motion that I do in this video to make it easier to follow, but the style actually takes about 30 to 45 seconds to do, ordinarily.

The french twist is the classic protective updo. It'S really quick and easy to do. You can start doing it when you have shoulder length, hair and even a little bit shorter. My hair is at about the limit of how you can do a french twist in this fashion and i'll tell you right now: it's not going to turn out perfectly because i don't have benefit of a mirror. So what you want to do is gather your hair into a ponytail just about an inch or two above the nape of the neck, give it one or two good twists, but be gentle, because you don't want to damage your hair, as that would defeat the whole Purpose of the protective updo, and then you keep twisting and twisting with your ponytail straight up in the air and when you've twisted about as much as you can, then you take a finger anchor it at the top of the twist baby finger anchored at the top Of the twist bring the ends down, if your hair is too long, then you have to curl the ends back up, tuck the ends under the twist and then you can secure it with a hair fork. Hair sticks the cara clip i'm using this french twist comb. It'S made specifically for a french twist and it really holds well, so you grab some of the twist hair and some of the scalp hair and gently and carefully insert the comb, and that really will hold and there's your french twist
