For an easy new "Back-to-School" hairstyle, we decided to show you this one. Many of you will remember the Lace Braid we demonstrated a few months back. Well, this is a variation of that style of braiding.

This is a very simple braid hairstyle that takes like 2-3 minutes to do. You can also get very creative with in in hairstyle combinations!

Hi I'm Mindy from Cute Girls Hairstyles and this morning I'm going to show you a hairdo that I'm calling Same-Side Lace Braid.. Now. You might also notice that I have bangs., So my husband went out of town last week and while he was away, I woke up one morning and was like. I think I want bangs and shwoop cut them myself. And here they are.. So we're kind of learning and retraining my hair., But let's do this one.. This is a hairdo I found on Pinterest. Now for those of you who aren't familiar with Pinterest, it's like the latest social media website. And it is crazy fun and I'm totally addicted.. I will be doing a video, probably I'll, get it up tomorrow or the next day on how to use Pinterest and explaining a little bit more about it and how you can find me on Pinterest.. But this is an idea. I got off Pinterest. And when you see what Pinterest is, you will all be as addicted as I am.. So I started by just straightening her hair and I parted it to the left.. Of course, you can part it on either side., I'm going to just start by doing just a regular French braid.. So I'm going to pick up some hair in front and divide it into three sections and start a regular French braid.. Now I am going to only pick up from the top., I'm not going to pick up from the bottom on this French braid.. So it's a one sided which makes it the Lace Braid. I'm going to pick up a little strand of hair and add it into the top. And the braid is going to kind of go on a diagonal down like that.. Just so that's kind of where we're heading with it., So I'm going to pick up another little piece of hair. Add it into the top strand and then braid. It in. Pick up a piece of hair.. Now I kind of want to be able to see the strands I'm pulling so I'm trying not to pull like too chunky of pieces. So braid it in., Like you'll notice, I'm just picking up a little piece, because I kind of want that chunky. Look where you can see the stranding. And as I'm going down I'm going, obviously away from her part line, which means I am letting her hair fall more and more. Like that piece, I'm adding in is becoming longer and longer before. I add it in. Now, when I get to about here, I'm going to go ahead. I think I'm going to be done and just finish it off by braiding it. And then, when I get down a little ways, I'm going to go back and just loosen the braid.. Ok, so the easiest way --. I have a tendency to braid tight.. So I have to kind of remind myself: try to braid lose braid lose. Go back in. Kind of just give it like little tugs to let that braid loosen. And then elastic please.. I'M going to add in just a clear elastic that matches her. That will fade in and match her hair. And we're done.. And then, if you want afterwards, you can go back in and loosen some more.. So those bumps really pop out. And there you go., Really fun. Easy idea., And I think this one you could use on any age.. In fact, I would definitely do this on my own hair.. I think it's so cute. And there you go

Mindy McKnight: @magicoflights Yes, it is very similar... only instead of letting it drop through, you add it into the bottom of the braid. Then the braid looks like it is just "hanging" there! Thanks for posting!
