Jon Renau Blake Human Hair Wig Review: Remy Hair + Lace Front

Is Blake from Jon Renau gorgeous, or what? You can check out more Blake pictures by visiting my blog post: https://cornerofhopeandmane.com/jon-re...

This is the hair that I should've been born with, but alas...it wasn't meant to be. :)

This wig is a long one, clocking in at 16-17" (but doesn't it look even longer than that?). You guys know I love my length.

Jon Renau does a fantastic job with their highlighted colors, and the brunette wig is no exception. The color is Toffee Truffle (FS6/30/27) which is a beautiful warm brunette base with lighter highlights. The color make the wig very natural looking.

Blake has all the features that many of you look for in wigs: she's a lace front, she's Remy hair (you are much less prone to tangling with Remy hair wigs), and she's hand-tied.

Check out the video to see Blake up close and personal - I'll also discuss the one fit issue that I have with this average size cap, and a possible solve!

Hey guys, Lauren here from corner of hope and Maine, and today I am showing you this gorgeous long human hair wig. Her name is Blake and she's from John Renault, so first things first, if you haven't subscribed, please hit the subscribe button that way you'll be notified. When I put a new video out - and if you find this helpful, please give it a thumbs up as well. So where do we start with this gorgeous gorgeous human hair? The color is toffee truffle, it's a little bit on the warm side, based on what I usually wear, and I think I was actually gon na film this without my light on, but I think the light actually shows off this color really nicely. So I kept it on so let me get in a little bit closer, so you can see the color variation, so it is a warm kind of like a medium brown. The description from the manufacturer has a bunch of the gold terms in it. I don't have it right in front of me, but it is for sure a warm medium brown with some nice highlights running through it, but definitely not a neutral, neutral Brown. It steers more towards warm. So just keep that in mind. If you're someone like me, who tends to gravitate a little bit more towards the neutral colors, I could make this work if I kind of adjust my makeup but right out of the box, if I'm fresh-faced, this color is a little bit difficult for me to work With but it's a gorgeous color I've seen this on several women and it looks phenomenal on each one of them in terms of the features, so she is a monofilament top. So what that means is it's kind of hard to see, but if you align the part of your bio hair or if you have no hair underneath with the part of this wave, you will see straight through to your own scalp. So it provides a more natural appearance, especially when you're looking at it from the top down. She is also 100 % hand tied, so each individual hair strand is tied by an actual human into the cap and what those hand tied strands allow is for individual movement of each hair. So it's not on a weft like some wigs are so when you move your hair around the hair is gon na move. Exactly like your bio hair. Would so that's a great feature. The hair is also REME human hair, so the cuticle is intact on this hair. Some hair is sold non-running and what that means is the cuticle is kind of rough. So you are gon na have a lot more tangling with non remy human hair, as you will with running human hair plus the overall look. It'S just a little bit more sleek um. So what else can I say about her? She as long as you can see she is somewhere in the sixteen to seventeen inch range. She appears a little bit longer. I think on me than that. I would kind of put her probably more in like the eighteen and nineteen visual range, but she is listed as somewhere between 16 and 70. So blank also has a lace front, so let me get in a little bit closer, so you can see see that so the hair looks like it's coming right out of your scalp and the nice thing that genre know in particular, does which I think makes a Huge difference when it comes to that lace front looking natural is they tend to place a lot of they're, not every color, but a lot of their highlighted colors. They will put the lightest color up in the front. So that way, you know in this piece. You'Ve got a little bit more of that blonde coming out in the front, and that makes the lace and the knots look a lot more natural than if the dark color was was right at the front. So with this particular piece, they did a really good job. With that, the lace front does allow you to wear your hair, so you can oops. I don't have a grip or anything to secure this right now. So it's shifting a little bit, but you can wear your hair off your face. That'S what a lace front allows you to do. One of the things that I really like about lace fronts is: it gives you just a little bit of lift in the front as well, so the hair isn't necessary. Just like you know hanging in the front. I'M sure we've all seen wigs, especially right out-of-the-box, where that happens, but a lace front prevents that issue and looks really natural kind of coming off the face break on the start. My one gripe isn't quite the right word, but my one thing about her is: I happen to have a very short measurement from forehead to nape, so sometimes an average-sized cap tends to have some excess material on top. For me, personally, blade comes in petite. This is average, so I think I might want to try a petite at some point, but let me show you up here so well see how this is a little bit poofy now this could be corrected if I were to take a hair, dryer and kind of Aim it on low that will help a little bit, but because of my short measurement from front to back, I do have excess material here. So I can literally lift up the material here which causes a little bit of like poofiness. So someone who fits squarely into an average-sized cap is not going to have this issue, but because my measurement is a little bit weird, I do. I can probably also take this into an experienced wig shop and they could put a stitch or two in and kind of cinch that for me so that it fits a little bit better. So that's an option or like I mentioned, I could try a petite like as well and see if that fits a little bit better, but the hair feels absolutely great, it's so nice to feel human hair. Like touching your skin. I don't know if that makes sense, but synthetic doesn't bother me in the least, but when you compare the two in terms of feel and in terms of movement, there really is no comparison. I mean it's kind of like you know. If you don't want to make the leap to human hair, don't ever try it on, because once you put it on you're gon na almost wonder like oh my gosh, can I go back to synthetic? For me, synthetic is always gon na have a place in my heart, but I absolutely love trying on and experimenting human hair because it is just so dang pretty so any questions about Blake. Let me know she's a gorgeous gorgeous wig. She doesn't feel super happy. I do live in Texas, it's getting hot. Today is 90. I think I will feel a little bit of that heat wearing this, but she's not like super heavy, and that can make a big difference when it comes to. You know, wearing such a gorgeous long style in the summer, so she's the just kind of a keeper. Alright, any questions, let me know, bye,

YK ME: Finally I found someone with the same problem with the "puffiness" on top due to a shorter nape measurement than the wig size. This is why all wigs look fake on me, even petite caps, and when you put it into words, I finally know why! How do you remedy this problem?

J L: This looks so beautiful on you!!! It’s model perfect hair that looks like you just stepped out of a salon. Just gorgeous! And I love this color on you!

Karen Cassidy: This wig is gorgeous and looks terrific on you. The best compliment I could give you is it looks like your hair. Just beautiful and I’m now considering real hair toppers.

Caroline Kaplan: Hey girl! You look beautiful in this longer style- love it ! I don’t think it comes off too warm on camera ? You know i don’t tolerate warm lol

Ruth Hersh: Blake looks beautiful on you! I really love the color!

Bruno Weight: That wig looks good on you the color and the tone

LeeLee: Beautiful wig and I think it looks pretty on you. I know what you mean about the warm shades though...I so wish there was a way to get HH to not pull red. That’s why I usually go back to synthetic. It’s the only way I can get a neutral brown color.

Angela Whitehead: Hi, what is your Front to Back, and other head size measurements? Knowing helps wig wearers gauge the fit on themselves. Thanks!

AmyOnWigs: I love toffee truffle, Blake, and YOU!

Little Red Goddess Persephone: Very pretty and it looks great on you!

Giovana Samara: I always thought highlights tend to make people look older (specially when it's a dark color highlighted by a very light color, like on that wig). Not my cup of tea, I'm afraid. I only got a (quite conservative) balayage once, but I couldn't wait for the color to fade and for me to have my natural color back. On the other hand, I must also admit I never ever colored my hair before or after that experience, so I can't say I love change in general...

Brenda Trejo: Did you ever try the petite? I do too have a freakishly small measurement front to nape, and I wonder if the bump you mentioned got fixed.

Shanna Dee: You mention preferring neutral colors and I'm wondering, besides the 10RH16 (which I have and love), which colors do you have and love that are neutral and or cooler?

Susana Spanglish: i really would love to see you put on and take off the wig and hair toppers. looks good!

C: Gorgeous. Is there a reasonably priced realistic topper you could recommend.

blessyourheart: I really want a job renau but I feel like they are quite pricey. I’m trying to experience with cheaper wigs at first so I can practice taking care of them. I live in Texas too!!! I want to go to one of the salons they have in Houston to try on some Jon renau wigs and see them in person before buying

Christine Smith: Are you sure this is Toffee Truffle? I've seen toffee truffle tin Blake and it looks way more strawberry.

Donna: You look fabulous! That is a beautiful piece. I wonder if you could adjust your audio a little bit in your videos? My volume is all the way up and I can barely hear you. Thanks for everything you do for this community!

Grace Stokes: Since the piece is remy human hair could you have it toned to a cooler shade?

Mona Ahmed: I like it very much just text me colour and brand and cost

Ruth Hersh: What is the name of her color again?
