Toppers - Basics - How to Put On
Blending in your real hairline and leaving a bit of your hair out in the front
This might seem really simple but I figured I'd show you. This is the Jon Renau "Top Secret" which is a double monofilament top but not a traditional "lace front". It has a tiny amount of hair hand tied in the very front and underneath along the hairline, they call this front a 1/8” FOLDED SWISS LACE. It is then followed on the base of the hairline with a strip of smooth plastic in case you want to tape or glue it down.
Color is a 6 Fudgesicle - Medium Dark Brown.
Length is 18 in.
Base size is 9 inch by 8.5 in
This is one of my favorite toppers. Expensive but worth it. I got mine from www.cysterwigs.com in their clearance section www.wigcloseouts.com for less than $100 Retails normally for $230 or more
This is a topper or wiglet from John Renault and it's top secret in their 18 inch version. If your hair is too short and like here, it will kind of stick out and be really obvious as the day goes on, but it's not your own hair. So let's go ahead and take this off and you always want to be very careful not to snag your own hair, so you're gon na kind of pull up the top and then the back. So this is my hair. It'S a little scraggly, but I will do a 360, so you can compare with the top ring without the topper. So I will try to show you the cap construction. So here it is. This is a double monofilament and then it's got some lefting around and then these pressure-sensitive clips and it does not have a lace front. But it does have a little bit plastic here. If you want to glue or tape that so that it's secure and the part is very, very good. So when I put this on, I part my ear almost where I'm going to put the topper and you can either do it slightly off part or exactly on part. Whatever works best for you and I'm going to leave out about this much of my hair and I'm gon na close the clips, because I like to put it on with the clips closed at first, you can kind of adjust where it's sitting without pulling your hair. So you could do it exactly on part, but for me I'm so thin. You couldn't definitely see the line, so I do it just ever so slightly off of part, and then I put those first two clips in and then I reach for the back clips and you don't need to pull it very tight and you don't need to grab A whole bunch of hair, it just needs a few strands in each one, and then I give that a brush to incorporate my hair and I like to hold on to the top in case there's snag or something that it doesn't pull too much of my hair And that is pretty much all there is to it, as always. Nothing medically wrong. No thyroid issues etc. my parents both have super thick hair still in their sixties. Could it just be age and that’s why it’s suddenly not thick anymore? It just happened so fast that it shocked me. I miss my thick hair so bad and don’t know why it’s now thin fine hair. I have chin length hair and wonder if they make any toppers this short?
