Brand new for 2021 by renee of paris and their alexander couture collection comes astrid and i have astrid today in the color creamy blonde. So we're going to break down this style and color, and then we're also going to do a comparison with the norika alpha, which was a new release for 2020, which was ever popular and on backorder for a long time. I purchased this style with my own funds from wig studio. One expand the description box below this video you'll find a link directly to this wig style, where you can check out all of the colors the pricing. If you have any questions for us, you can always reach out to support at wigstudio1.com or from any product page on the website. If you scroll down and hit the help button, you can be connected with a live chat. So let's discuss this color creamy blonde. Now this is the lightest and brightest creamy blonde application that i have seen coming out of rene of paris, um or any of the atarians brands, such as noriko rene of paris, alexander couture. It'S a 50 50 blend of a light gold blonde and a platinum. I think it's a little heavier on the platinum than the other applications of this color that i have seen. But it is it's a 50 50 blend and it is really nicely blended throughout. This is an unrooted platinum shade. So that's going to make a lot of you happy that don't like the darker black roots, i would say that if you do like a root - and you are liking, this color - that you might take a look at the champagne r. So astrid is more of a classically designed bob style with a short fringe or bangs. So let's talk about that for a moment, those bangs are about three inches, maybe a tad over three inches. What i love about the bang here is that it is a nicely layered bang and it kind of has a notch cut to it. So it's not too perfect and straight across it does give a nice wispy. Look when it's layered like this, so it's been taken down on the ends. It falls just above the eyebrow it can be swept off to either side. That'S what i love about this bang now, overall, it's going to be around 11 to 12 inches from the crown down to the tips and from the crown down it's the same length. Basically, all the way around and the wonderful part about this style is that it features a full single monofilament, top no lace front just that monofilament top. So on a style like this, i feel like the single monofilament top was a really smart move. Sometimes, lace fronts can get really lost under a short bang style, but i think that monofilament top is really going to lend some versatility to this style. You can part it in any direction and still get the illusion of scalp. I feel like it's not too thickly. Threaded as if to obscure the illusion of scalp right through now, this is not a rooted color. Therefore, it kind of blends into the color of the monofilament you're not really getting that true sense of scalp there, so this style weighs about four ounces. I think that's due in part to the very baby, fine dry fiber that you're seeing here, it's just an average density and i feel like it's been taken down a little bit on the ends that gives it a nice modern touch, but it also allows it to Swing and move naturally without weighing the hair down, so just because there's a monofilament top doesn't mean that you can't spring that hair up a little bit to create a little bit of lift. All i do is i just scrunch it in like that. That kind of springs the hair up out of and away from the cap and gives a little bit of lift on the top. Now it's a monofilament top, so you don't have to wear it like this. I'M just saying that if you do fluff it out a bit create a little bit of airiness down there at the root. You can get a little bit of height on the top, and i think that really nicely balances it. This is one of those bobs. It'S not too full on the sides as if to look like a bubble, um, there's very little permatease right there at the ear tab or at the temple you're going to find just a nice fine light coating of permatease all throughout this cap. Really it's not too heavy at all. So now that we have learned about astrid, let's compare that to the noriko alva noriko alva came out. I think it was late 2020. It was super popular was on back order for a really long time, and i thought that style was just amazing. I have it sitting back here. It'S in the color sugar cane sugar cane r. Actually, now these two styles are nearly identical. It is very difficult to tell them apart they're, both kind of those traditional bob styles with a fringe bang. The only thing that i've noticed - and i cannot guarantee that this just just isn't an anomaly or a variance that we can see from piece to piece - is that the bangs on the noriko alva are a little bit undercut, meaning that these longer layers on top they Instead of cutting off into the bang, they go all the way down. The absolute main, discerning difference between the two styles here is going to be. The fact that astrid has a full monofilament top and alva is just a standard top okay. Now this is a rooted shade. You can't really see down into any permatease. I can't say that if this was in the creamy blonde, if we might be able to see down into some permatease there's a huge different difference in price, so this monofilament top on astrid is going to cost you double of the albus. So you could basically have two alvas for the cost of one astrid and to me um. It'S that monofilament top. Isn'T that big of a deal, i'm a fan of permatease height volume, and if it's well done, i am good with that. I don't need the monofilament top, but for some i think the monofilament top is just going to lend a little bit more realism to the style, um and still get the same general beautiful look. So i am going to show you a side by side of these. Two styles, but first i want to take you outside for an outdoor look at the creamy blonde on astrid, we'll be back with an inside look at the cap and some styling for astrid. Do here's an inside look at the kept for rene paris's, astrid? There'S your full single monofilament top at the very front. You will see a little bit of polyurethane that'll help to grab the scalp. If you do not have hair there kind of give it a nice secure, comfortable, fit there's a brush of fiber at the front. Just to give it a nice natural, looking hairline, but it's not enough to give you a lace like appearance, then your single monofilament top. I think it's very nicely done. However, it is a very scratchy, tough, thick monofilament material and the grid is fairly wide on that. As well, you have a closed rose lace. Tab plenty of is pretty much average right out of the box, but i did not make any adjustments to this cap to fit a petite average circumference. This asteroid is right out of the box. I just gave it a shake. I applied it and i swirled around a lot on the cap just to kind of set those fibers free, especially up near the monofilament, where they can be really tightly compacted. When you set those fibers free, you can unleash their natural movement. It also helps to flesh out the true possibilities of the style. So that's all i have done we'll see you soon on taz's wing closet at wig studio one, but before we get started, i just want to do a shout out to a friend and small business. This is lulu kellogg, atelier's, etsy shop. Lulu is a great friend of mine she sent over this ring not long ago. She wasn't expecting me to review it. It was just a gift and it's absolutely gorgeous she specializes in handcrafted jewelry. She goes far and wide to find her materials and she does a great job. She has a great sense of creativity. She picks out some amazing crystals and stones and the settings like this sort of hammered gold setting here. I absolutely love this and this particular ring. I can just squeeze it a little bit to conform to my finger, the wrap i just. I absolutely love it now, because she does specialize in small handcrafted pieces. She may not have a lot of one particular piece, so i urge you to go out and check out her inventory, often because there's so many new things coming up on her site. So thank you so much lulu. This is absolutely gorgeous. I love it. You

DeNora Kuschel: Taz, love your detailed description of this wig. Great informative video.

Michele KT: Astrid is beautiful! So sleek, smart and very high fashion!

London Jean Semberg: Great comparison! Alva seems a little edgier and younger. And yes, the height and volume makes all the difference; goes to show that fancier isn’t always better! ❤️

Patti D: I love my Alva and my daughters love it on me.. We need more wigs with bangs tho.. I dont look good with hair off my face.. Please tell manufactuers to add more medium length wigs with bangs.. Thank you Taz

jayandess: Gosh I wore that style (and colour) for a couple of decades. My sideburns were the first area to disappear when my hairline started to recede and it provided great coverage for many years. It's a good style to have as a wig as it was actually quite hard work to keep looking pristine!

Ivona: Love that color! I wish Ellen Wille made wigs in that color :) I have looked high and low for this color and it is so hard to come by in all of the brands, they are usually either platinum white or yellow. The combination of creamy blonde and platinum with the gold tone and no rooting is impossible to find!

Abigail•Rose: Wow! I would love this in a longer style! Any suggestions Taz and did you ever do a video on Allegro by Belle Tress? You look stunning in every wig you put on!

Dee Roga Tory: Alva is a grown out Astrid. While I like Astrid color, I’d be right in there with something to give her shading and or rooting. Astrid reminds me of Ann Jillians style when she did that show “It’s a living” . Her sassy personality enabled her to pull off that style and bold platinum. I would choose Alva over Astrid for me personally. I’d like to see Astrid in a color like British Milk Tea.

Ibelieveinangels yesido: My wishlist keeps growing, Taz. I *like* Alva in that color; watched the full review on WS1 but will look for it here & watch it full screen to catch a better look. Blessings! Jackie in upstate NY

Kathleen Beauchemin: Astrid is adorable but I absolutely love Alva…maybe it’s the shade‍♀️. Alva is definitely a longer version of Astrid though! Thanks for the great review! Have a wonderful day ❤️

Margaret Tassey: Thanks for the review. Really appreciate the fit information.

Gloria Lagroon: Good morning Taz! Astrid is super cute and she looks great on you. I still want to get Alva. Hoping to get her soon. Thanks for reviewing Astrid. ❤

Wigs, The Real Scoop with MichelePearl: Reminds me of Scorpio style too. Astrid looks beautiful in this creamy blonde. Very classy and realistic. And Alva is gonna be a classic I think. Something for everyone in this popular bang style bob.

Cassandra K: Alva in Champagne R has been on my short list for awhile. I do like the creamy blonde, but I love my permatease! I hope you are well. Thanks XOXO

Candy Chand: Girl, look at you in platinum! We could be twins—except for those little details, like you’re younger, slimmer, and cuter. . Love this look on you! I also like that there are no roots. With ice platinum, roots can appear way too harsh.

swineinny1: Has sort of a very retro ‘60’s vibe, yet not dated-looking at all. The style reminds me of Julie Christie in Shampoo — cool, sleek & beautiful!

Twyla 2: I like Alva's style and color better than Astrid. Thanks for the great review!

Suzanne Dawson: To me, Alva looks a little choppier than Astrid. Astrid seems a little more blunt with an under curve but all this may be my imagination. Thanks again, Taz. Great review!

Lorrie: Love the comparisons. I’ve wore Noriko for years but they due run tighter/smaller for me, which make them uncomfortable by the end of the day. Would you be willing to do a video with advice on wig brands that make wigs that run a little larger in the cap size? I definitely am willing to try other brands but would like a little more success in doing so. Thanks - love your videos by the way, what a blessing!

Teresa Messenger: Wow...wow...wow. I have Alva. I love this and the color. I love Alva too. This is really educational regarding wig construction. I'm checking out the etsy shop too...I'm all about crystals

Page Smelser: If you want to go with a flatter hair that would look like this one or Alva . Also have you found anything you did not like with the new Elite ? Love your videos

Michelle Diekman: You Look So Gorgeous!! Love Everything your Wearing. I always wear Barrettes With My Wigs or Clips. It's fun! Have a Fabulous Week My Dear Friend

Betzie: I agree about the monofilament top….just not that important to me either in most cases. I would choose Alva. ♥️ Taz, could you share your diet some time? I’m doing Keto, lost ten pounds but don’t want to stay on it long term. Would love to hear what you eat in a day. Thanks as always gf! ❤️

S Trent: Beautiful wig. Would you be able to show this in a rooted blonde. Thanks

Jayne Read: Beautiful colour!

Angela Stevens: Love this wig!! Taz, how does Astrid compare to Cri by Ellen Wille?

Tosha Rae: What's F and P back there? Btw, I love this retro style! I love playing with the rockabilly vibe.

Sue Davis: Love it!!

Suzanne Dawson: One question: Do all Rene of Paris wigs come with that bra strap adjuster? I’m beginning to shy away from those because they are always bugging me with scraping my head. Plus, they are always coming loose. I know I should just put them where I want them to be, cut them off and stitch them but it’s too much monkey business.

Donna Richey: How come the wigs look so adorable on you and others I see watching videos. I purchased the Bianca from Envy from Wig studio 1 and its beautiful coloring and looks so cute till I put it on and I was about to cry. I look so dumb in it. I ordered in champagne. I am debating on sending it back. I have no band to put on so it stays on or a net. I can't believe the stocking thing are not sent with it. I used to order from QVC and they had one it the box. I have to wait till I get one before checking it out. So disappointed, debating on sending it back. I was going to order the netted one from them and shipping was $10 for a $2 item. Not right.

Tosha Rae: omg. this makes you look so young! how is that possible??

bobbie Forseth: WOW on my computer it looks like totally white..my hair color now that i've quit dying my hair hee hee

Brilliant Events: Taz….I was wondering if you know of a wig that’s that’s similar to Libby Lou? I just love your reviews. Thank you!

Mitzi Council: How does this color compare to the Iced Sweet Cream from RW?

Bridget S: Your the best Taz, but this style shouts I am wearing a wig. I wish they wouldn't make the bangs so thick.

Judy Anne: I didn't realize it had a mono top. Does Astrid come in rooted colors?

GABRIELA JIMENEZ: Hello, Could you tell the brand ,model and color of the wig you have with the letter A please? Where can we buy it?I loved it!!!! Loved your video also I just subscribed.

Chimom: What is the red wig on the left of the screen with a "C" on the wig stand?

Lela Kobeshavidze: Pl.show Shanon by rene of paris.pl.pl.pl.

Michelle Robertson: Hi :-) What is J pls Thx
