Today I am going to show you how I layer, thin and trim my wigs. Please don't attempt this yourself unless you are absolutely sure you can do it. You can always take your wig to a hairdresser and let them do it for you.

Hi everyone is Michel, so today I wanted to show your how I sort of customized customized layer trim my wigs. As you know, this is my less later simha from Raquel Welch in the shaded biscuit, and I really like him, but I feel like this is a bit too long and he's dragging me down. This side is not so bad because he cares really nicely, but this side is a bit doesn't want to do what I wanted to do so, usually you know this bit here is too thick, not many people have thick hair right in the front of their face, Especially me, I have hardly any hair on the side, so I often twit my wigs. If you are not sure I suggest you take it to the hairdresser, I don't do it yourself, but I'm not not too bad. You know - and I would say unless you take real scissors to wear it's quite hard to mess it up. I'Ve got this. These are thinning scissors and I put them on Amazon. Can you see they've got like little teeth, which means that when you cut into a hair, it's not gon na cut off the whole piece is is just taking out. I don't know every tenth of the hair. If you know what I mean, so I'm going to take this front bit not too thick, I'm going so tightly. You don't have to do it like this, but this is one of the techniques slightly twirl it like this and then you make like about three cards and then brush it out. Can you see so? This is now thinner, it's not so heavy here now. If I wanted to make this bit a bit shorter, I still would go with these scissors and do it always. You know in small bits, and I would start cutting it down down down down down like this. Eventually, I will cut off some. So can you see now I've got this short a bit here, but because I didn't make like a straight cut, it's not really showing so much. If you purely want to thin your wig say there is too much hair. Take like a piece from underneath take those scissors make one cut open them and you take out not even half of that piece. So that's how now this is a bit thinner and do it just bit by bit till till you get it so, whatever thickness you want, I'm not sure. If I'm going to touch this side, if I was going to cut like an actual shape, I think I would not attempt it myself. I think I would ask my hairdresser to do it. You know thinning and layering is a bit easier to do with these scissors, but if you actually wanted to give the wig certain shape, I don't know if I would attempt it myself, I might try. I take a tiny bit. First make this a bit shorter, but I will start quite low, I'm sort of angling, the scissors, so I'm like thinning it. So you know you don't get like a solid, sharp edge. It looks like it's been thinned out and I keep going higher and higher till. I get a shot a bit. Can you see? I got it a bit shorter now he was as long as this, but it doesn't look like this solid line and and then I can take another bit and keep doing it. So as long as you do it in small bits that you just because you know this is a wig, it's not gon na grow back yeah. You can play with it quite a lot and I and I do use these scissors a lot on my wig see now. If I see that they are too bulky, I do what I shown you when I take a piece and just cut, and let me show you another one, so you take piece of hair take these scissors depends where the thickness is. If he's right up the top start from the top, if you only want to thin it because the ends are too thick, then start lower. I will start about here: one cut, open your scissors and then slide the head down. You can brush it out and it all comes out and that will thin out your wig. You see now I've cut this and it's a bit in my nothing. I might even cut the shot. Isis, like an actual fringe - and I might maybe doing here so yeah as long as you do it slowly and think about it. But you know if you don't have a claw about doing anything with your hair. I really wouldn't suggest it because you could ruin your wig, but that's how I do it suppose we could spin out this side a bit there. It is. Am I do this better bet? I know it looks scary because you're saying that, if you cut into where you're cutting off the whole thing, but you you are not, you know, there is so much hurt in it that you would be very hard to thin it so badly that you had no Hair left yeah like I feel that maybe is a bit too bulky here. So I can just take a bit underneath and only from about here, because that's where the bulkiness is - and you can just you see, I'm not being even precise because you're not giving yourself a precise haircut just thinning it. Can you see how dad's gone a bit less bulky? I think this one might need it, so I will leave it like this now and I live with it for a bit and if I feel like, I think, maybe that needs trimming a bit or if I just think that bit mile I better yeah, it's not So heavy done - and you know in a few days I might think. Oh, I need a bit more here or here don't just go at it. You know like a crazy woman, a man because, like I said you don't want to ruin it, but that's basically what I do these scissors are like the best. I will try to find you the same ones that I've got, but they do lots of these on Amazon, so yep. So I hope you found it helpful. Thank you so much for watching and stay fabulous bye. You

Lorraine Ross: This is just what I needed to see! Thank you . It's really helpful, as I have wigs that are desperate to be thinned n trimmed. your wig looks fabulous, looks like your own hair! X

ItIsYourMom: Thank you, your technique helped me transform a too bulky front area into a much more natural look!

Teri Zatopek: This is so helpful! It’s hard to go from super thin hair to a thick wig. I’ve been nervous of thinning it but this looks like a great way to try.

Brenda Johnson: Love this wig on you! It looks very natural for your personal style. Thank you for sharing this tip too!

Judith Huggett: Hi Nisha I knew nothing about wigs until I started watching your channel My 1st wig was Editors Pick and I was so disappointed in it I felt I got a lemon. I have since bought 2 more and feel happier with those. I learnt a bit about thinning and cutting the wigs on Utube so watching you do these techniques I feel confident in tackling my own. Thankyou for all you do love Judith X

Ello Betches: I cannot thank you enough for this technique! Made all the difference in my wig.

Dawna: geezzz, that wig looks so incredible natural on you!! would never have guessed in a million years it wasn't your own hair! very nice!

Kim Thomas: An excellent to Tutorial. It’s time consuming but you don’t ruin the Wig with her technique! Going to buy those scissors today. I took a razor blade and opened it three blades close together and then I twisted pieces of the hair and did it like that because I don’t have those scissors but it helped tremendously again slowly but surely it was becoming mine

Ann Birely: Thank you for this video Nisha. I’ve been wanting to thin out my wig a bit and this certainly took the mystery out of it .

D P: Just wanted to say thank you for this, it's very helpful. I've just treated myself to the most gorgeous wine coloured lace front, but she's incredibly thick, and it's the density that's letting it down. Now with this, I feel confident I can trim her down and make her look more natural ( as natural as wine coloured hair can be!). Thanks again! :-)

Greg Weigel: As always love the color and style. I would recommend not dragging the shears down the hair after the cut doing so will Fray the remaining hair. But using the wide tooth comb afterwards is perfect . =)

Patsy Lynn: Nisha, LOVE this video. So informative, thank you! I will be getting myself a pair of these scissors. Hairstylists have used razors on my own hair in the past and I never like the cut. These scissors seem much better

DAWN BECKER: Great idea for wigs!! This wig is so cute on you!!

ann Sam: Very helpful to me. I have 2 wigs that need thinning. Thank you so much for demonstrating how it’s done.

mary allen: Oh, Nisha, thank you so much for this video!! You did a fabulous job! I wear wigs and know several of mine need thinning but, unfortunately I have no talent at all when it comes to “hair”! I will have to take mine to a hairdresser! You look am-a-zing as always. Hope you and your family are having a wonderful Christmas Season! I am sure you are with all your gorgeous decorations!! Enjoy! Love & Hugs, Mary ☃️

Lynn Rose: Hi Nisha, I never really knew much about wigs before watching you. Thank you for all the great information that you have provided. I like the cutting techniques you showed. You could never tell that the wigs you buy were not your hair. Good quality.

Robin Summers: Thank you, this is exactly what i was looking for. I bought two wigs and they are so bulky i cannot wear them this is going to give me the options i was hoping for.

Jackie Marsh: Thank you for showing me how to thin my wigs, and shorten them!! I really enjoyed the video! Your wig looks Gorgeous on you Nisha!! I love the style and color! It makes your beautiful eyes just pop!! Thank you so much for a Wonderful video!!

maddie c: Looks so much more natural for the trim.

07regia: Thanks so much for the tip about using the thinning scissors to cut for length. Now I can stop chopping and start finessing.

D Miss me: Watched and watched and tried it on my Wren wig! She looks less too heavy and more believable

Cynthia Marvin: Very nice tutorial thank you! Looks so more natural thinning just a bitI’ve taken several to my hairdresser and trimmed my shorter wigs myself your such a doll Nisha

Diana Deap: Thank you so much. I didn't think to get thinning scissors for my wigs before !

gmadiva: Hi Nisha. Love your wigs. You look fabulous. I remember a while back when you were able to offer a 30% off CODE. I would love to get the Editor's pick, but can't afford it. I know you have 10% and that is so sweet of you. Just wondered if they will ever offer 30% off again. I hate being poor! lol Thanks for your great videos!

d Milord: wow!!! huge difference when you thinned that otherside that was thick and in your face. It looks so real now.

bella10: Thankyou Nisha, I’ve just started to wear a wig because of hair loss with chemo ,I was devastated to lose my hair but your videos have really helped me. I had no clue about wigs and they felt so alien to me that I was just wearing scarves around my head which didn’t make me feel good either. You look really beautiful in your wigs & with your own hair too! You have inspired me to wear my wig and feel confident, my colour is shaded biscuit too,as that is near to what my own colour was. Sorry this was long!! I’m isolating and it was nice to ‘chat’!

Wonder Woman: Thank you so much for sharing this!! I have a couple of wigs and toppers that are just too much hair lol. I’ve taken them to my hairdresser but they still don’t suit me. I will definitely be trying this!

Clare Zimberlin: Hi Nisha. Thanks for making these fabulous videos about wearing wigs & styling them. It's been so helpful. Thanks too for recommending afro styling. They are a really great on line shop. Basic, but effective, saving us time & money. I'm now a fan of yours. Clare

It's so easy and looks professional if done properly. Just be confident, I have shoulder length hair just like your wig style and colour. No...I'm not a qualified hairdresser ☺

Maureen Miceli-Funk: Happy Holidays! Thanks for all the videos this year.

Koley W: Very pretty set.

Joyce England: There's so many thinning scissors on Amazon. What is the name of the scissors that you used? Thanks, Joyce

Greg Weigel: Hi Nisha I don't know if you have the option to order wigs with less density but it is so much more realistic thinned out. The classic giveaway to a wig is the too much look

liselle sloan: Do you have an eye makeup or makeup tutorial for this look?

GypsyGirl: How do you keep them from getting all tangled? Mine get all bunched up together around the bottom. Also even though I take good care of them they always seem to get all messed up and the texture changes and they no longer have that nice swingy texture. I've had this happen with 2 very expensive synthetic hair ones.

jayne wilkinson: You can't use thinning scissors on naturally curly hair it damages it wish I had straight hair like yoursnx

Jennifer Davis: I need to trim the frayed ends off of a wig. Are these scissors best for that? Do you have a video on just trimming? Thank you!

Judy Anne: I've asked a hair dresser to trim a wig, they refused because of liabilities

Denise Stephens: Man, that wig ROCKS!!!!!!

Mary Kay: Nisha, love your wigs....however why do you think you need to thin them out ?? I think they look perfect as they are....does anyone agree ??

Ott Gavras: Thanks I have one I need to do it’s way over thick .. bad...wish me luck

Galaxy Moon: What shears you use?

Joy Lev: Bonjour ma belle Je veux te demander Ta couleur de cheveux c’est des mèches ou une couleur ? Merci pour ta vidéo super

QUEEN G: Thanks

Kuhnt Kore: Do you by chance listen to the music group Goldfrapp? I’m not sure why, but I get that vibe from you (and I mean that as a compliment)!

Jed Linnen: The thing is, Nisha, knowing when to stop. As you say. It is wig and is not going to grow back

Kiran Dutt: Which hair spray u use for ur wigs dear ??? To maintain it

CobraDove: Wig looks not as good with all that dry shampoo in it, you only need a TINY bit to take the shine edge off, not make it look haloweeney

Alicia. Harrison: is your wig human hair

jayne wilkinson: Thinning scissors damages hair if not done properly should only been used when done properly causes split ends

Joyce Boccanfuso: Oo
