Hey everybody and welcome back here in the chair. We have our neighbor unique and i just want to show you our new product. This is the steady cutting collar. It is weighted in the front on both sides. So all you have to do and clearly is branded. You saw deep in your hair, don't play so i'm putting it around unique's neck and i am just going to pull her hair from inside of the collar and you just want to make sure that it's straight now. I just needed to create this collar because i've just been see a lot of freehand cutting, and i know for a fact that a lot of us need assistance like free hand. Cutting is not as easy as it looks matter of fact. It doesn't even look easy. You know what i'm saying and it's like a lot of people are just taking that on when that's literally not the way we were taught in school to cut so since we are all free hand cutting. I thought that it would be great to use a guide. Now you don't have to use a guy, it's up to you to say that you need that help or not, but it is what it is. I think this is perfect for all of us now. First, what i'm going to do is i'm going to cut her hair section by section that makes it easier to see the lines on this silicone collar. Now i am going to go right here with this cut because, as you can see closer to the left side, it's a whole piece missing, and so i just want to get it nice and even and take my time while i do it and i just choose Whatever line, i want to use to cut on, and that's what i'm going to do now, that i have that section cut, i'm just going to go in again get another section. Now you could see those white lines when all of her hair was down, but i just think it's best to cut the hair section by section anyway, most of the times, so you know some people, i put it on instagram and uh. Some people are asking: will it come in white? It will come in white during the next drop, but i just think that those white lines does the same thing that the white capes do you're able to see right through the thinnest part of the hair. You see right on the end, it's short and right in the middle, it's a little sparse, so we're going to go on that same line again and trim her hair right on that line. Another thing i love about the cut and collar is: it is just smooth all the way across when i'm using a cape like the cape, has ripples in it um, sometimes the ending from the flaps are there and you just get caught up with your shears, and I think it's just best to have a flat surface to cut against like this, so the cutting collar helps with that as well. Now i'm just going to grab the third section now when i grab this section, you'll really see how that was a perfect amount of hair to trim, because now that i'm pulling this section down, you see where it's getting thinner right after that line. So you don't always have to cut off the thinnest hair. Guys, like i know, like the new reality, is just chunky, hair from root to tip, and some of us love that, like i love my hair to be chunky from root to tip and some other people do, but just because it's a little thinner on the ends And the rest of the hair - that's pretty much realistic, so just communicate with your client and ask them what they are willing to do because, of course we want their hair to be super healthy. You know what i'm saying, but at the end of the day, just communicate because you don't want to lose the client, because you just kind of forcing them to get a cut right away. You know with unique. She was like just take what needs to go, and that was great for her, but it's not the same for everybody, so just communicate and just see what they love. This cutting collar is not just for hair stylist. It could be for cost students, it could be for parents at home that trim their kids hair. I just think that it is a good guide for anybody now that i'm on the sides, i'm just going to kind of freehand and let those sides connect with the back. You can use the curved lines if you want to. There are three types of lines on this collar. There is a straight line, there is a subtle curve and then it's a heavy curve. So whatever your hair grows, like you, are just free to use whatever line that you want, or even if you're, not using a line, and you just need it for your hand to just steady and be on a flat surface. While you cut that's good too so now that i got that cut, going, i'm going to take the cape off unique was so hype about her haircut. Okay, she was not playing check her out. She is like swinging it. Okay, so now that her hair is cut like this, now i'm going to go in and this is the part i usually skip on my videos for some reason. I don't know why. I always do this off camera, but i'm just going to pull her hair up, and i am just going to take off those ends that didn't reach down to the bottom and make sure that they are off getting these ends off are very important because you don't Want the hair to be nice and strong around the perimeter, and then the hair on the inside is broken because you know broken hair. Just all it does. This ends that are split, just keep going up the shaft, and you do not want that to happen because it just caused so much breakage and you know some of your hair be healthy and the rest won't and then eventually, you're gon na have to get the Healthy hair to match up with the unhealthy hair, and it's just like a lot of work. You know what i'm saying so just make sure you always do this step. If someone else is trimming your hair just ask them not to skip this step if they are um. You know i have a video teaching you how to do your own hair like this. If you need it - and i appreciate you guys for watching that but yeah you know how important trimming your ends are so just try to get his all your bad ends off. It'S almost impossible to get them all off, because sometimes those splits go pretty high they're everywhere. But you know, if you could do the best you can or if your styles can do the best they can it's best to try to do it. Um. You know early on and but if you are uncomfortable with that, just tell them i would like to gradually do it or just gradually trim your own ends. It'S literally up to you here, i'm just using little peggy sue to get them edges right. You know straight edges are optional. That is your life, if you like texture edges, that is your life and your business, okay, but i use peggy sue to get them nice and sleek, because today she is going to get some feathers, so i just wanted it to all match up. So i'm going in with the 22 titanium and smoky mirrors, the signature royal, which is the purple, is back in stock. So now we got the new product, the steady cut and collar. We have peggy sue and we have both color irons in stock. So i just wanted to let y'all know that, because i get a lot of dms on instagram and a lot of people in the comments asking they are all in stock. So hopefully that works for you. So i am going in now - and i am just going section by section just the same amount of sectioning - that i did for the cut. Look how good those ends look, and i am just going to go in and i'm going to feather her hair because she doesn't want anything too tight. You know what i noticed a lot of times when the clients decide to go ahead and get their hair. Like chopped off like all the hair that they need, a lot of them decide to go more in a straight family, because when you curl it tight, it just hikes the hair up a lot more. Some people, don't don't care about length showing me i love when i can show my length, so i usually chew straight over curly a lot just so that you know, and even when i wear my natural curls, i like to stretch it or do a twist out. All so i can see my length i just like that, and i don't think i should be you know held against for that and so, but if you aren't into that um you know just get your hair curled tight. I think that's cool too, but it just hikes it up and takes that length away. So you know when the hair is straight. I think that is cool too, because you can see whatever length is still there. I love me some red hair. It'S been so many years since i wore red hair. I know in another video i talked to you all about red hair and i, like i used to go, get my 99j hair from the hair store. When i was growing up - and i think like my last year - high school and maybe like maybe two years after that - i wore a lot of red hair. But now i don't really do it, because i just don't want to um put dye in my hair, because my hair doesn't really do well with that. No matter how well i take care of it, and i know i could use wigs and stuff. So maybe i might jump into the some red wigs. I think i talked about this in the last video, so clearly i'm feeding for a little rare hair so we'll see y'all. You know y'all gon na be the first to see it. If i do, as always, i just want to reiterate the fact that one pass is all you need when you are pressing or curling the hair. You don't need to go over each piece of hair over and over with the flat iron, because that's how you develop heat damage, you will break down the bonds of the hair and next thing you know your curl pattern is starting to leave and that is from Using too much heat so just do that. All that you can to make sure you're doing one pass and only like try to press your hair, like maybe once every, if you're, a straight girl all the time. Just try to maybe press your hair like once. Every three weeks and that's if you really really care about your texture, but i'm telling you now that heat damage is it's a beast to get rid of, so you really have to take care of your hair. So you don't have to deal with that me. I love having the options of wearing my hair in this natural curls, so i never want to lose them so matter of fact, i only press my hair, like once a year now and even when i'm doing i'm freaking out, i can't believe i'm the kind of Girl, that's like, oh, my god, there's too much heat, oh the blow. Dryer is doing too much. I really be freaked out, but it's because i love my natural curls and i just love the benefits that have come with me, allowing my natural curls to shine through. But again still all preference is all about perspective. I just came from new york, and i went to a couple shows in new york fashion week and just being in new york is super inspiring it's just like it's such a gritty city with so much character, um and it's such a big melting pot, and so It inspires me like the same way that la does, like, i think i love la more. I know like a lot of new yorkers would disagree with that because if i feel like, if you're a new yorker, it's really hard to become an la person and vice versa, i'm not impossible, but i think it's a little. You know i mean, but i just get so inspired by those two cities, because it's just so much all around me and it's like makes me want to like create so i feel like i have a lot of things in store for you guys. I have a few ideas of what i want to bring to the channel um and i also have a few ideas on what i want to do personally, so i don't know it might be, it might be a good winter for us. You know it's the end of the summer and uh, i feel like we got some cute stuff going on, so i'm excited and i hope you are too when unique came to get her hair done. Like all day, i just kept being like unique, like i just kept singing beyonce song, and it's like can y'all tell me how y'all feel about beyonce new album, like i love bee, i'm not like necessarily in the beehive, but that is my girl um, and i Just want to know how you all feel about the album, because i'm still trying to like get into, i think house, music isn't really my thing um. I love the lyrics. I feel like what she's saying is so empowering, but i'm still trying to like get in the groove of it. So let me i want to hear i want to hear your um opinions and don't be attacking people in the comments. If they say they don't like and behave, we just. We just want to be honest and real and have a really adult conversation about music. Is this is don't don't kill us okay, but i definitely want to hear what y'all talking about about it because yeah i don't know, i will make sure that i link everything below um today. I think everything i'm using is from deeperidinhair.com. I didn't use any extra things that everything is on our website on my website, so just check out deepeninhair.com the cutting collar isn't there as of today um. There is a limited amount of those um and then we will be restocking once they are going. So, of course, i just use the glass berry and shine, and i am wrapping unique's hair. So what i'm going to do is i'm going to wrap her hair and i'm going to wrap it as smooth as possible. You just want to take like a when when i was growing up, we was calling it a wig brush, but it's a vent brush a bristle, not a it's a heart, bristle brush but like just wrap the hair as smoothly as possible. Somebody asked me to make a video teaching how to do this and i was like dad. I guess it's a need for it, but it's like you're using your head as a big old roller. It'S just keeping that bending your hair and then, if you need a flat brush to get like every strand straight and lay do it now, i'm going to go in and i'm going to put this cap on her head and i'm just going to tie it in The back so while it takes me so long to tie it in the back, i'm just going to tell you all that put yourself under the dryer with cold air do not use hot air because you will come out looking like you just got blow-dried again. Okay, so just please, please make sure the air is cool and only sit under for 10 minutes, and once you come out bam, don't don't play with us. Okay, look how pretty this is when i was coming, i was like you need get ends, look like they might be a little pink and she's like they do. Look pink like i just you know. Sometimes, when you get color and the color starts fading um, it starts creating some other little. You know me razzle dazzle, so i'm here for it. It looks so pretty to me and i'm glad she got a good amount of hair taken off today, because she really needed that. You know what i'm saying and yeah it's just all she has to do is wrap her hair up every night, with a silk or satin scarf and don't put any extra product in it. Her natural oils from her head, her scalp will lead all the way down. The shaft of the hair and it will moisturize it itself, naturally so go ahead unique. It was good having you in the chair girl and go swing that thing all over the place see y'all next time, thanks for watching

GeminII*: I’m not a huge fan of free-hand cutting. A lot of stylist have a tendency to over trim, when they use that method. I appreciate you for creating a guide for stylist. I may buy one to take with me to the stylist. Thank you!

GISMO SCHOLARS: I have a STEM group especially for girls. I'm always giving them examples of how engineering and priduct design show up in cosmetology! This is a great product. Kudos to you! You're awesome. ❤️

Jan Williams: I truly wish that the cut collar makes wealthy beyond your dreams! That is pure genius!

TIERRA J : LOVEEEEE THIS!!!! I gotta get me one! You are so DOPE!!!

Ms Ms: The cutting collar is a great idea. I see so many freehand cuts and they look terrible. You styled the client's hair beautifully as always.

confusedpuppy1: "and clearly it's branded, you saw deeper than hair - don't play " you're so funny I love your videos

Autumn432hz: I wish beauticians like her did hair tours. I need this care and it's crazy because I'm in Atlanta, the mecca of stylists

Jade: Unique hair turned out beautiful. I’m so proud of you creating products for healthy hair. The cutting cape is much needed I know freehand has been around forever, but lately it’s become a trend. You see a lot of stylist freehand cutting the hair uneven and then they go back to even the hair…which takes longer and they’re cutting more hair than necessary. Kee next time you gotta show us all that fabulousness on your head

Masha Mitchell: I had a stylist chop almost 12 inches off my waist length hair 15 years ago. It was the first and last time a stranger touched my hair. A cutting guide probably would have avoided that trauma. Hair has recovered and I trim it myself twice a year but it would be easier if someone else did.

Kathleen Bigsmoke-Mitchell: I ❤ how everytime she done with a section of hair with the flatiron & lays it back down, she gives it a lil bump

Storyfe Photografe: I’m so glad that you come out with stuff that everyone can purchase. I definitely need this for my husband who helps me trim my ends lol.

No Name: Man listen, my beautician who I love beyond measure, just freehand trimmed my hair and I am so hurt because she ended up cutting like 5 inches of hair without even realizing it. I'm never trading her in but I wish more beauticians understood the importance of not cutting all of their clients hair off during a trim. Beautiful job done here!!! Sn....I was sooooo wishing you would have just stepped stepped in front of the camera ONE time because them curls looked like they was pOpping from your reflection in the mirror. You coulda graced up just once, dang lol

Monie: I'm so very proud of the new products you're bringing out this is by far the best one and I hope that you will make it in different colors from a dark green to a purple a royal blue a burgundy and an off-white the lines are great and helping to get that right cut especially if they have any long lengthy hair, medium Length, benefits as well. I love the beautiful cutting process is awesome I've been ordering me some wonderful great cheers and different colors from Amazon and it feels so wonderful that are of the Japanese metal and I'm looking forward to using them the cut very well extremely Sharp but I really love that they are so reasonable and I'm not having to give anybody practically $80 just for a pair of shears so I love them it's all in what you like finding great deals on Amazon is awesome especially if you know what you're looking for and you know what to work with it is beautiful. I hope you have a wonderful week it's been nice to see you at 2:26 p.m. September 11th 2022 stay blessed ️

Corey Miller: As a licensed cosmetologist, I am definitely investing in one of these. Thanks Deeper than hair

Schatze Lady: Hey Kee, I'm online ordering the cutting collar now. I like her hair. I'm good with Beyonce.

Here for It: I trim the interior of my hair during the straightening process about once a year. Afterward, my adult daughter evens it out by cutting it freehand straight across in back. She takes a picture first and I let her know how much I want her to cut. ❤️

Bianca Rivera: That quote in the beginning really speaks to me, thank you for that. ❤

Malachite1995: this is a fantastic idea! I do have a question, though: how far apart are the measurements?

Cine Life: Love it !!!! I'm an Indian who lives in the middle East. And one day I'd love to visit your salon in the United States just to get my hair cut ☺

Mizz Jonnica: The guide is an awesome idea and it shows how considerate and intrigued you are about hair... we love it thou we all know you don't need we're all in gor the lesson and good energy you give

Lisa Lewis-Peck: Thank you so much!!! You have helped me trim my own hair during the pandemic.

Patricia Clark: Congratulations!! this product is going to be a game changer! for professional's and laymen/women. I was just telling a friend of mine, about your channel. add another subscriber . I'm closer to Philly now. so I'm looking forward to having my next hair cut done by you! ( claiming it)! . love your work

iris thomas: Man this is amazing❤️ I’ll be taking mines to my hairstylist to use on my hair and take it home afterwards!!

Imago Dei: I LOVE IT! I can’t do hair to save my life but with one of these I can finally rid the world of damaged ends!✂️

Tanya S: Sis… let me tell you, I’m always learning something new from you. This freehand guide is amazing! Just pure genius!

T Mom: That "cutting collar" is a GREAT idea!!! And the fact that you thought to weight it!! Awesome, helps prevent it from slipping/moving. As always....it's the voice-over for me. Soo informative! Thanks for sharing!! Her hair turned out GORGEOUS (as usual)...

Angela Ainsworth: This is definitely useful. Hi DTH, this is my first comment though I've been learning from you for a while. :) Your videos give me more knowledge than other stylists in my area. And it's because of your videos that I have recently wanted to straighten my hair for a trim. Backstory: I haven't straightened in 6 years so I'm really scared I'm going to damage my hair because my hair is low porosity 4c and tends to be dry often. I haven't done a trim in a while, but the last time I did a trim was while it was curly and I didn't like the feel of it. Is there a likely chance of heat damage if you haven't straightened your hair in a while?

Lynn W: I love this! Will you also make a version with more lines that are closer together? I'd be concerned that the stylist might cut higher than they need to otherwise. Also, as someone else commented, I look forward to seeing one for longer hair. If I had one of these, I might feel comfortable having someone I trust trim my waist length hair instead of always doing it myself.

Eternal Treasures: That's brilliant! Love inginunity, this is really gunna help a lot of people. Big up yourself sis

RaphaelLouis Jones: When I first seen another stylist use the Steady hand cutting collar being used on Saturday by this other stylist on IG, I knew this had to be a product you invented. I've noticed that many stylist are free hand cutting, the more I've seen your videos. Kee, you are definitely leading the charge. Keep up the excellence❤️

Lala Hairston: Her hair turned out gorgeous

Dana Glass: Sis is always the truth ‍♀️. And the shine from the iron…yes ma’am!!!

tiffany foster: Love your professionalism and work! Continue to shine!!! ❤️

Dewana Johnson: This is a great hair product. Such a great idea. I can really see this used at home a lot since people are going natural. Trim is a must. Her hair came out so beautiful. I love her color and the feather cut.

RubyLovesRocket: Very clever, good move to jump in with a product. Fits well with the opening quote too. Some people want to do things that they just don't have the skill or aptitude for, but they don't want to admit it. With this, they can still do the trendy thing without messing up (as badly).

Kym Rucker: I love her hair, Kee Kee you always do a fabulous job.!! The cape is a game changer. I am now natural and haven't been to a beauty salon just for the simple fact of not getting a proper cut. It should be mandatory for every beauty shop to have your cape.

Joe Possible: I think renaissance is a vibe! Definitely something for everyone in the album. You do such amazing hair! It looks like a soothing experience to be in your chair. Congratulations on your new business venture! That is another great product. I'll recommend it to hairstylists that I know here in Texas.

KateandBree: I love this weighted collar idea. Weight can be so comforting and relaxing for a client. (I have fallen asleep with weight on my chest. It’s just so relaxing to me.) Every stylist should have one!

D R-K: You keep moving forward and advancing the game. Thanks for putting out a new video, it's a great watch on a quiet Sunday afternoon. The end result was beautiful!

CYNTHIA A Smith: I love your hair-losophy, I can transfer it to other parts of my life. Thank you for the spiritual positivity and lessons in hair care.

ColdDiva: I’m obsessed with the album and never been a Beyhive kinda girl. When I tell you in the triple digits of rotation! It’s a full on vibe! Each song becomes my favorite for the day! Summer Renaissance That Girl Plastic off the Couch Virgo’s Groove (what it do Virgo’s!) Break My Soul Vogue Remix is everything!!!

Kamilah Perfect Love Hinton: sooooo pretty!!!! cut, color, press out, design!!!!

Asia Monday: I can't wait to touch up my roots and be fully red again! The final result of Unique's hair is gorgeous. Yes, please make a video on how to properly wrap hair. I used to have a good handle on it but now...not so much peace, love and blessings to you!

Sandra E: Just love that trim and color Sister's hair is just glowing and flowing.

T. Beatty: So happy to see a new video….Watching you do hair is so relaxing for me.

Greta Berry: You never disappoint

anaïs✨: I needed this a few weeks ago, when my stylist and I agreed to trim gradually but I left missing three inches smh

kc8ueu: This would have saved me some tears! Many years ago, I asked my boyfriend to trim the back of my hair. I'd been cutting his hair for quite some time, and he wouldn't let anyone else touch it. I told him to just make it even, and he handed me a huge chunk of hair and asked "Is this enough?" It was all I could do to not burst into tears right then...my hair was halfway down my back and he'd taken it off shoulder-length! I was able to fix it so it was even, but at that time in my life my hair didn't grow very fast and short hair was not "in". I cried later, after he'd gone home. What a blessing this collar is!

bran: seeing you thrive makes my heart happy

Tracey Lennon: I love love LOVE how you curl it just so,I like to see my length as well!!

Darlene Jamison: I'm so happy you made another video. I remember seeing that design that you can trim the client's hair with from another hair stylist. Continue making more awesome videos. God bless you and always stay safe. Darlene

R Oki: Yes Trimming is a must! I do the same technique as you. You do a great job.

Jen leigh: Beautiful JOB and I LOVE THE COLLAR! I am a white girl who works in cosmetics and all types of haircare and ya' ll teach me a LOT to help/ communicate with my ethnic hair ladies/ gents!

Sussex Sandra: I love this tool. Would love something similar for shorter hair.

A Malik: I loved half of the album. Nice job on the hair AS ALWAYS

Carla Kay: You said it wasn't as easy as it looks and just when you said the next thing, I said it in my head... it doesn't actually look easy. LOL. some people (you) do make it look easy though. Pro hand I guess. But this collar is genius.

MsJigglypuff: I wish there was a stylist like you near where I live. I really miss having a stylist if your caliber, doing my hair

M Bell: ‍♀️Gorgeous job as always... I remember years years ago using a cutting collar We definitely need them again..getting my shopping list together, thanks for sharing...ky

April Denice: Kee you’re a genius!!! I need this for me and my daughter!!! Hope all is well Queen!

lady4dajbs: The album has me in a chokehold it's played at least twice a day. I'm not a beehive member but I love the album

Red Wine: I had no idea that “textured edges” were a thing. I could NEVER Love the cape though even though I don’t know anything about hair cuts lol

Kay None: Her hair looks so pretty and the color is nice. Love your nails!

Giada Wilson: I have been watching your channel for a few years I love the way you take care of your clients hair I have not had my hair professionally done in over 10 years and that is the truth having you do my hair is one of the top three wishes that I have on my bucket list

A D: I only wish there'd be more lines/cutting options. Congrats on the new product!

I have been following you for a minute, and I could tell right away that YOU ATTENDED School, ok.... anyone seeking to be the consumate pro is pretty much, gonna do as we learned - section by section... granted many with a great deal of experience do other things at times, but to be consistent and give our customers top tier, THIS is the way AND honey we could've used this collar a looooong time ago especially when training I think, LOVE IT.. AWESOME as most of your things!

Jacqueline Villarreal: Thank you for sharing your TALENT!!! ✨✨

Natasha Pipkin: This is my first time watching your video!!! I love it all!! You hairdresser skills , technique, your personality!!! How you even explained the different ways and perspectives!!!!!!!!! I’m subscribing today!!!!! You have such a gift keep it up honey!!!

Elizabeth Rose: New subby! Loving your videos. The compassion and tips you drop are everything. Thank you. You really do seem like good people. Blessings

XxAlisha63: Heyy this is amazing! Please make one for longer hair. I've been cutting my own hair for years because it cost over 150 CAD for a senior stylist in toronto that does a really good job. I can do it on my own but i dont really want to, it takes me over 2 hours to get it perfect. A longer version of this would be so helpful because then i could take it to my mom and have her do it for me but keep the length i want, in a perfect blunt line.

akiyoshidai1231: I love trims done with a cape! Could you feature it more? ☺ Just a suggestion, dont you think you could also release a cape in a light colour and dark lines? You can better see the damaged ends in dark hair when the cape is white or similar .

Dacia Drummond: I'm excited for you about the steady cutting collar. This week alone I've seen a lot of videos here on YouTube where the cutters could have benefited from the collar.
