Oh, my goodness, friends, we've got leopard prints, we've got tiger stripes, we have the whole cat family living in this color in this video. I'M gon na show you how I got from this to this and before I do it, let's talk about what we have going on here. So it's kind of hard to tell, but there are some pieces that are really under process and some pieces that are over processed, so some that are extremely white and bright and then some that are a little bit more orange e-gold more toward the back and the Reason why it's so stripy is because it's a classic foil highlight, and it was only done like around the face and maybe in the crown and then it looks like it was just done very quickly and the lightener swelled a bunch and left spots at the root. So the first thing I'm going to do is actually wet it down with a spray bottle. I don't have a bowl cuz, I'm doing hair at home right here, so I'm doing it with a spray bottle and the reason I'm doing this is because a lot of times the hair is extremely porous when it's over processed, oh actually, all the time. It'S extremely porous so there's pieces that are way over processed there's pieces that are under processed, so the water kind of helps to even out the porosity, and then it also gives me a really smooth canvas for color melting. You guys, even though I didn't do this service that gave her this result. I want to just let you know that everybody makes mistakes. So if you accidentally leave spots and streaks in the hair, I want to just empower you to feel confident fixing it for your clients. So my first formula is going to be reckon shades, ehue, six and and I'm actually using a shot. Glass thing. I don't know for mixing shots and or mixing drinks and stuff, because I didn't have anything to measure, so I just wanted to make sure it was still being accurate, so I did it 6n with a little bit of 6g. I tell me in the comments, if you know why I use 6g - I, but if you don't know, I'm gon na tell you right now the reason that I used. It is because I'm going down and level, and I need to make sure that I replace the pigment that was taken out when it was lightened. So the first half of that back section was pretty much all brown. There was no highlights that have been put in there previously. So that's why I'm starting right here. So I'm just placing the lightener directly at the top of the root and coming down and then I'm gon na make sure to take very tiny sections to make sure every detail and piece is covered and fully saturated and then around the hairline. I'M going to do the same thing, apply to the roots and drag down with the comb a little bit, but I'm gon na go in with the comb, maybe every two or three sections, and I'm not going to drag it down. Quite as far as I did in the back, so you have that really natural kind of Sun highlighted look and if you notice, I am just leaving out her face frame pieces and for those I'm just gon na lightly root tap because they don't. They just need to kind of blend in it at the top there's not really any spots or anything in them, so I'm gon na leave them as bright as possible. So this is kind of the fun part, so I'm actually going to put foils in the hair and wherever the 6n and 6g. I stopped I'm going to put 7 in and smooth that transition and I'm going to do kind of like a reverse balayage pattern. So I'm going to let this process for about 20 minutes and then after that, I'm gon na pull all the foils out and then I'm gon na take my comb and just run my comb through everything. So this is just gon na help further blend that transition from the darker root color into the bold brighter highlights. We just want it to be very seamless, and you could already see it's starting to blend really really well, it's amazing what just color melting can really do for these kind of crazy uneven patterns. You don't really necessarily need to use Lightner. Every time I mean it's always kind of better, if you do because there's so much more blending that you could do, but if you can't - and you just are worried about damaging the hair, you can always do a color mount like this. As long as you make sure to use the right formula so that you're balancing pigment, so I'm going to leave this on another 10 minutes after I comb it through and then she's going to shampoo condition and then she's going to come back and then we're going To formulate the ends, so my formula for ends is going to be majority clear with 9p and I'm using 9p because it has both blue and violet tones and what I'm saying in the hair is yellow and orange e-gold tones. So, blue and violet is going to neutralize that also, if you are a licensed hairstylist you're gon na, want to check out the description below. I have a bunch of free resources for you guys to help you kind of build your brand and your skills so go ahead and check those out also now's a good time to enroll in my ultra blended color Academy and I'll link that below because youtubers actually Get 10 % off if this video helped you solve some color correction issues, make sure to share it with a friend like it and then go ahead and subscribe it and hit the notification bell. valerie mendez: I love this correction! I also loved how you didn’t bash the original hair stylist. It’s important to understand that everyone makes mistakes and are human ☺️

Bibles&Bottles: Omgggggg finally a video on how to correct this!!! Thank you so much for doing this & being so honest with each step you took!!!

Christina M.: Fantastic job! I love how you able to correct it without having to apply any more bleach!

Chelsea Zayda Raen Sehon: It’s like you just preformed a miracle right in front of my eyes. it end result looks amazing! I’ve been thinking about going to beauty school to do hair.

T: Wow, the end result is stunning! I start cosmetology school Monday and I'm sooo excited. Can't wait to learn how to do hair and learn formulas and get my creative juices flowing! Love all your vids. Just discovered your channel this week and I absolutely love it

Lesley Ann❤️: This is beautiful. I was worried at first that the blonde would be too dark or covered too much but it’s perfect x

Sandra Hoffman: Hey Lauren, I almost forgot, love your work!! I’m an older stylist and using Redken is new for me. Hope you can help me formulate the lowlights for my client with a natural level 6/7. Keep the vids coming!

CarmelAnn DeRosa: Wow this is gorgeous you did an amazing fix on her hair! ❤️❤️❤️

Kristian K. McKnight: I’m a licensed hairstylist!! I did highlights & they didn’t turn out well!! I was searching for a video by another professional! This really helped I fixed my client’s color with no problem! She was relieved & happy! I actually just did a root touch up with Chi Color & I toned the highlights!

Michele M: I pay a lot extra for consistent "streaks". Matter of taste. It is much more time consuming to keep the streaks when highlighting over the years and takes more artistry to maintain. The only thing "wrong" with the before were a couple small bleach leaks close to the scalp.

Amy Kemp: I love that you said that mistakes happen and that is so sweet of you. A lot of people would just be like oh my god this is so bad. You’re so sweet!

Heather G: Beautiful result and great technique...thank you!

Holly Lanagan: Beautiful result and a great correction.

Lela: I've watched this video several times and I think I'm going to try to do it on myself...because my hair looks like the before! How long did you leave on the last step?

Saved Anyway Real Talk: Yes! Wonderful problem solver. Love the video thank you for posting. I subscribed. Much continued success

joana garcia: Thank you for this video ! Very informative!

Marilene Luna: Parabéns

Briana Paulina: Thank you so much for showing this technique!!!

Jessica Strong: You did a Beautiful Job ️

12345liberty: H really loving the tutorials, I’m a hairstylist in the UK and work alone in a salon I have at my house, so these videos are amazing to keep me up to date! I just have a question about shades eq, I can’t seem to find a wholesaler that stocks it so would a regular demi-colour do the same thing? Thanks in advance

Mandarin: Love this! It looked so much brighter too!

ana ari: This exactly how my hair looked after going to the salon. Spots everywhere. I am so mad. I don't even know what to do to save my long hair

Manila S Samek: Awesome work love it thank you.

Lorrie Webster: This video is exactly what I needed. I am a barber so I just cut hair, but starting to teach myself how to highlight and color my own. My struggle is I have probably 50% gray hair mostly in the top and timple area and I like my hair light but my natural color is about a level six so when I color my roots, then it looks too dark to me because I like to be more blonde. Should I use a higher level than shadow root with shades? I have finally been here so I like dimension. My hair does tend to pull brass what are your thoughts to cover gray have dimension yet still be more on the blonde side. It can be tricky.

Self sufficient university.: Great job. How long did this correction take?

Guerrero Pennisi: Hermoso trabajo! Desde Buenos Aires ! Quería saber los colores que usaste. Gracias!!!

Bethany Perry: HELP! My hair has spots of bleach on it and then spots which are untouched :( I wanted to red colour correct my hair and then apply light brown dye all over. Should I put corrector only on the bleached spots or all over? Thankyou! Xx

Narcisa James: Great job, thank you

Belinda: Gorgeous colour! The end look is beautiful.

Rocio Vasquez: Great correction! Beautiful job. I am not to familiar with all redken line. What processing solution did you use?. It looks thicker that I am use to. Thank you

Trang Tran: Hi Lauren, thank you for sharing your experiences. I wonder why the color doesn’t cover the highlight because you put it far down. Thank you in advance

Karen Workman: What if the stripes are lower on the hair shaft, but you want to keep that part light?

J-S D-de-B: Very nice correction . Congrats !!

J V: Subscribing! I love that you didn't apologize about all of the toys and everything scattered. Real life! Great hair results <3

Alexander Gonzalez: Outstanding. I shared this work with my students. Thanks from New York City.

Maria Ehrhart: Gorgeous color!

crystal jimenez: I just came across this video and it's amazing. I seen that you used redken, but are there any other product lines you would recommend using for color melts?

Frisco divas salon: Awesome you did a good job

Lina: i love this thank you!!

Lyd Vince Cruz: Thanks for sharing this would really help me .I appreciate it very much.

Tiphanyj Johnson: I love your final result. I just wanted to ask if I use Redken shades eq. as you did in this video, how long will this color result last?

Tessa Heart: Can you type out exactly what you used in products and how much if each?❤️

Elina: Wow! Good job! ✨✨✨✨

Juanita Hosein: This is gorgeous.

Avash.J: Beautiful video. Thanks. Would you pls say the number or level of the colors again for both 6 and 9 ?

Itsjen27: How soon can you fix the uneven highlights? I had it 2 days ago

Cookin Healthy with Hayley: beautiful great job

aileen krauchi: Hi, next time when you do a color correction video, can you please open up the hair and show the root shadow, and back up the camera so we can see the entire head blended. Great video otherwise, and you saved the day on that lady's hair color. I use Goldwell and Matrix with my clients usually, and have been watching Redken videos here because the formulations are quite different. What does the tone "T" in the shades stand for?

KrunkTina: I need to do this to my friend ASAP ! We did highlights and she looked like a cat also lol due to time and being rushed oh and she was a bit tipsy lol

imaginary world: Happened with me .I am brunette and I told them specifically I need brown shade .They did dirty blonde highlights on my hair and asked me how's this looking .I can't stop them because half of the hair was done. Now ,I am so disappointed.I just want to shave my head to get rid of this nonsense.i look like so impolite and joker.

Carmen Torres: The problem I have right now same area. Hopefully it can be fix

Jacklyn Nguyen: Hi Lauren. May I ask what’s number shade EQ you used. Thanks. You amazing ❤️

Manila S Samek: Beautiful love thank you

eady08: So I’m a level 5, my highlights are a 9/10 and the full head is great - the root smudge is also really well blended… but I think the colour she used is off? It’s kinda warm/orangey at my root? Why would this be?

Diane Thompson: I haven’t work a lot with Shades, but I’m always amazed that you can still see blonde in the top of the hair! I always expect it to be all brown!! Is it not all brown because of Shades being translucent?

Sara Hernandez: Love this video btw !

mslove1101: Does anyone know about how much this would typically cost to have done? I have almost the exact same hair color and streakiness as the girl after my recent hair dye and I love the final outcome in this video but im afraid to see the price since I already paid a bit to get it died in the first place. I feel hopeless.

MrKiwispirit: I was thinking to myself colour melt would fix this. Beautiful End result

Give me all the vintage mickeys: You are so talented !!! Was 9p applied root to ends ? That’s what it seem like it? Also does it only have to be mixed with the crystal clear? Thanks

Sandra Hoffman: So what level were you starting with? Is she a level 5 or 6 naturally? Thanks in advance. Also I have a client with heavily highlighted hair and want to add lowlights. She is a level 6/7 naturally. What would you suggest. I just want to break up the blonde a little and don’t want her to be too dark. Thanks in advance.

Fd: y si fuera con tinte en pomo al principio? como seria la formula?

Agata Garske: Your video is a masterpiece! I am not licensed and I would like to get the redken toners and developers, can I get them without a license?

Emma forster: Your an amazing colorist love this

karla sosa: Hi just wondering if you could name exactly the products and shades you used. Thank you!

FlopsyGuitarBunny: Beautiful.

Andrew McColl: Cool technique, we have Pravana colour lush instead of shades EQ in the shop, what would you charge for this service in salon out of interest?

Tess H: I went to the hairdresser to get blond foils and they put in really dirty, dark yellow stripes then tried to fix it with ash grey toner. The result was dirty grey color at the base and a dirty yellow color/ almost brown at the ends. I tried washing with a clarifying shampoo but it's still mostly grey and yellow. I want to go back and ask them to fix it but I'm scared they'll mess it up even more!

Marcel Cuellar: Very nice !!

🌟 MORNING STAR⭐️: Really pretty but when they do this to me I break my base with a high lift .. scary process

Tam Nguyen: Love it

nina S: Amazing!!!!

Charice Gwinn: Can you take 1 or 2 minutes to talk about the product you use? Can you fix it without foil?

Nikole Bee: Good fix !!

Mel: Hey lauren. So I got highlights and a few on the top of my head look like a zebra stripe. Dark and then light in a few spots. Can I fix it at home with a box dye and just put it on those spots? Great video!

Kamila Wright: Hi!! I have to use a middle shade? Or just can I go from roots color and right after the 9p? I have natural a level 3 like 2 inches long and right after is a little orangy/ yellow close to my roots and my middle shaft is bright blonde a nice color can I use the same formula? how long did you leave the last toner on? I appreciate it

Kari: I wanted balayage and got tiger stripes :( want to fix it at home by myself. Can it be done with box dye? Or as I call them watermelon highlights. That's how my hair/head looks like a watermelon stripes highlights

Roo the Stew: Wonderful

Antoneth Gaurana: I really wanna know the products you used to correct the color pls.. Beacause I don't familiar with the products you used.. Thank you

viviana ♡: Hello! Where can i DM you for advice about my highlights i got done recently?

Alix Palacios: Question: using shades, does going to correct the problem temporary? Asking because I have the same problem, thank you

Eva Leszczynska: Great technic, just wish you posted products you are using

Tracey Smith: Great job

Danikah Smith: awwwwwe love seeing daddy get down on the floor with the kiddo while mom's getting pampered love it!!! Sorry had to say that. Your amazing as always!!!

163974c: Since Shades Eq will fade, will the root color (6N) help the client in two months, for example, or will the 'spots' reappear when the demi-permanent washes out? I'm still new to all this, so thanks for any input! I'm not a professional !

2225ram: I tried this today and it didn’t work 100%. I did it exactly the same. So afterwards I went in again and added more of the 6 and more highlights because her hair was darker. She had to leave with wet hair so I don’t know how this second round went. :(

Stephanie: But its now a rootstretch ? What if they had wanted it to still be highlights?

Janet Provost: I wonder if I can do this on my own.

Channy Chan: I can't get shade 6GI in the UK, would 6G be OK please?

Faith Valles: No conditioner on the ends to prevent spotting from combing through the color?

A K: I just paid almost 400 and this happened to me urgh. Now I have to get it fixed. I’m debating whether I should call the place I got it done at or not.

Melissa Culpepper: Great corrective color job!

Stephanie: Metal measurer? For peroxide?

Shenia: Amazing

Julie Nelson: Has anyone purchased the ultra blonding course?

Sara Hernandez: At 2:40 I think you meant placing that toner instead of lightener

Sohiela Zad: What developer did you use to not change the colour of the highlights? Did you use special activitier to protect the blonde?

W.M Tower: You are so extremely talented!

jasmine ramirez: So how come you used the 7n and did a reverse balayage??

Tereza Malley: Wish we had shades eq in our salon
