Xiao Cosplayer: Lelegacy Crafting

https://lelegacy.carrd.co/

Hello, this is ko and i'm going to show you how i made this cosplay wig of giao from ginseng impact, so i'm going to use a dark green base wig along with a lighter teal kind of miku colored extensions, shadow's, hair color is really strange. It'S not quite black, it's not quite blue or green, but i felt like this dark forest color suited really well, but you can use whichever base colors. You prefer okay, so the first thing we're going to do is we're going to pin back the hair from the wig and we're going to remove the first line of hair, that's sewn in with the seam ripper. This step is important because i'll be showing you how to make a fake glued hairline to recreate his little teal e-girl hair, bangs yeah. So after i carefully move that first row of hair there's actually another row underneath, so i'm just going to go ahead and carefully move that too. I just take my seam ripper and slowly pick out each piece of string, and once you get the first few done, it's easy to get the rest out. So here i'm taking a bit of black felt i cut out and i'm going to slide it in and hot glue it to the wig. The purpose of this is to create more of a surface, so when i glue in the hairline it has more surface to grab onto essentially, this also helps if your wig is too small or it's not coming down low enough on your forehead, you can add an Extension before gluing your hairline in to create a lower hairline without spending money on a lace wig. So here i'm making sure that all the edges are securely glued to the felt and later i will be trimming this felt down to about half its size so that it doesn't peek out from underneath the glute hairline. So you can see the hair kind of naturally falls forward to the face, but i'm going to redirect it. So it falls more to the sides and i'm going to do this by taking my flat iron and heating the hair up. And while it's still hot, i'm going to retrain it by pulling it down away from the face, and i use various combs just to create a arch look on the hair, i don't want it to be completely flat on the head. I want to have a bit of a volume, so i'm just using combs to recreate the curved look as it cools down and, as you can see here when i get towards the front of the wig, i'm curving the hair more kind of forward, not all the Way forward, but more of a swept to the side kind of look, and now you can kind of see the difference between where the natural hair is and the retrain hair. So now that i did that on both sides, i gon na start sectioning out the main pieces of his hair. He'S got these two long pieces in the left and right of his hair and pretty much i'm gon na. Take the rest of the back of his hair and cut it down because it's way too long, so i'm gon na use this feathering technique and just kind of grab and pull and just cut whatever seems too long. I don't know how to explain this technique. I do i just kind of grab it away from the wick and trim it down until it looks right, i just kind of feather and feather and feather until it's short enough except there. I just made a blunt cut, but i'm fixing it by feathering it out. Once again, just so it's not so harsh and i'm not cutting everything to extreme detail just yet i'm just making sure everything's just the basic size and length i need for now. So now i'm going to move on to the side pieces of his hair. He has kind of a weird like front piece in the front of his face and the other piece is tucked behind his ear. So i'm going to try to recreate that as best i can again, i'm just trying to cut out the rough basic shapes of his hair. Don'T worry about getting it cut to the tee on your first. Try just have a rough outline and then work your way into the finer details as you go along. So once i'm satisfied with the cut i can move on. So now we get our hot cinemiku hair that we stole off of her and we're gon na create some hair highlights woohoo all right. So this part's kind of weird - because he has so many highlights coming out of random places, there's no rhyme or reason they just come out of random places, but first we're gon na start off with the one behind his ear and i'm gon na loosely measure. It out by eye and cut out a piece of the extension. I then sew the piece of extension i cut out to the wick. You can also hot glue it in to make it faster, but i just prefer sewing because it feels sturdier to me. I personally like to sew extensions when attaching to the bottom half of the wig and hot glue extensions on the top half of the wig okay. Now that that's done, i'm gon na move on to the next highlight also sorry about the voice change. I got tired of recording the same lines over and over again haha. I pretty much do the same thing measure out the extension by, but with this one i cut out a piece twice as long as i need and fold it in half to make it thicker and i just hot glue it in with some gorilla glue. I continue the same steps for all the highlights when hot gluing bigger pieces, i try to make sure the edges are securely attached and wait till it's completely cool before moving on to more layers, you don't want them to accidentally come off the wig. While you are combing or styling the wig once that one is completely cool, i flip over the next layer of hair and glue in another piece, the same size. With this section. In particular, i use a total of three pieces. Two two inch pieces and 1 1 inch piece. The two larger pieces will make the larger spike and the single smaller piece will make the smaller lower spike. If that makes sense, now that you look like you're about to go to a secret rave underneath the highway, we can move on to part two of the cutting phase. Once all the highlights are attached, i can start by trimming down the highlights to roughly match the length of the wig and giving the whole wig more layers. I also trim other parts of the wig as i see fit as i go along. This piece of extension was sticking out a bit, so i use the back of my flat iron, which is pretty hot and use it to flatten it down a bit, and i keep trimming down the extensions using a technique called feathering. That'S when i have the scissors open at an angle to which they cut easily and move the scissors up and down to thin down the sections of hair. This technique makes the hair less blunt and thinner. Having a lot of layers makes it much easier to create spikes on wigs oops. I almost forgot the little highlight piece he has behind his ear. This piece i pre-trimmed before gluing it in since it's so small, i'm just gon na put a lot of hairspray and flat iron to curve up to keep all the teal hairs together. Since this piece is so small, i don't want it to get lost in the wig, while styling. Now that i have all the extensions installed and everything pretty much trimmed down, i'm going to start teasing the back of the wick. Also warning i'm not the best at styling spiky weeks, but i'm just trying to get all the hair in the back to stand up. I start by taking a small section at a time spray a bit of hairspray at the root and use a teasing brush to backcomb the roots and to help the hairspray dry faster. I speed it up by putting the back of my flat iron to the teased area. If your flat iron doesn't get hot on the outside, then you could use a hair, dryer heat gun to speed up the hair spray drying. If the section you're teasing is having a hard time standing up, the hair might be too thick and heavy, so you can thin it down if needed. Also after teasing, i spray more hairspray on the area and use my flat iron to curve the hairs upward to create that subtle. Sasuke look, you know, you've done it right when it looks like the wig has insane bed head. I keep trimming any pieces that seem too long or any places that look like they could use more layers also throughout this whole process, i'm constantly checking back and looking at references of xiao from all angles, especially having his character model open in game and again i Spray, a bit of hair spray, tease it like crazy and use my flat iron to speed up the it's normal. If things start looking crazy while teasing, i would even say the crazier, it looks you're doing it right, also tarise. This technique, where you take a section of hair and put hairspray until it's pretty wet and with a flat iron on a high setting, slowly pass it through it makes the wick hair super crunchy and holds its shape better. You probably can't see it very well. On camera, but i use that crunchy method a lot on this wig, then i overlay some of the dark green hairs on top of the teal section and trim it to overlay on top to create a gradient effect. Now, i'm moving on to making the glued hairline. I'M using the dark green wefts i removed from the hairline in the beginning to create the center of his bangs using clear craft glue and something flat. I form the end of the hair into a point and allow it to dry. I do the same thing again with leftover teal pieces to make the rest of his eagle bangs. I try not to make the point too clean or perfect. Instead, i try to make it look more natural and jagged like an actual hairline. I end up making about eight teal pieces and four dark green pieces. It'S good to make one or two extra. Just in case you have extra empty spaces in the end, after letting them dry overnight. I start gluing them in using the same clearcraft glue. I load up the back of the glue pieces with glue and hold it in place until it becomes tacky enough to hold its shape and then secure it with a sewing pin, while it dries also, you can probably see, but i trimmed the black felt a lot. You want to trim it shorter than what you want, the actual hairline to be it's best to try on the wig, with the felt before trimming it. So you can properly guesstimate how much to cut the purpose of the felt is to add more stability and act. As something for the glued pieces to hold on to i'm making sure to have the pieces fit very tight together and loaded with glue, because i don't want any of the felt to be exposed. Whenever i finish installing the hairline, i wait for the glue to completely dry overnight before moving on to more styling. If you see any hairs out of place on the hairline, you can trim it to your liking. Just make sure you cut at angle resembling a hairline and not cut straight across when it's completely dried should be good to continue trimming and styling. I'M first gon na retrain the hair to make it match the height of the wig, using the heat from the flat iron to gently redirect the direction it falls in. You want the bangs to fall towards over the face a little. I'M then gon na trim the teal bits enough so that they can be hidden by the darker green bangs. There'S also this weird stubborn teal bit that sticks out. So i just try to use the heat from my flat iron to make it flatten down to be hidden within the wick after trimming, the bangs down to where they hang over the eyes and thinning them down some more i'm gon na remove the sewing pins and Gently squish the hairs together to close the gaps made by the pins. The hair arches are still a bit tall bc of the glue, so i gently use the heat from the back of my flat iron to flatten it to make it lower, and now, after all, that i finally start forming the spikes. I take a section i want to make into a spike put a few spritzes of hairspray and use the flower iron on a high setting to curve the hair upwards. I then take a comb and brush out the hard flat eye and piece, so that's fluffy again and use a bit of hairspray and my fingers to form it into a full spike. The reason i hair spray and flat iron, the section before combing and forming it into a spike, is because it makes the section sturdier to better hold its shape. This is just something i learned over time since i'm not very good at teasing lol. I continue shaping out each specific piece that frames the face and the spikes on the sides following the references closely. This is where having a rat tail comb is very useful. I repeat the same process over and over again for each spike on the wig having the hair be thinned out and not too thick is key to make it look more animal again. I just do this endlessly until i run out of hair to work with. Oh god, when will it end, but working my way towards the back? I start to freestyle the spikes making it look kind of like an artichoke lol. I don't put much effort into styling the back of the wig perfectly, because honestly, not much people pay attention to it anyway. Now the wig is fully styled yay. This last step is optional, but i'm going to airbrush in some black into the roots and dark green on the big teal piece of the side to create the same gradient effect that xiao has and finally the completed shiawick. S.T.P: I'M ABSOLUTELY AMAZED

MAGORiA: Your wig styling is actually great because it doesn't look so overstyled and plastic, like most cosplay wigs does. My tip is to watch tutorials for visual kei hairstyles. Style Council videos are great. Their styling looks more natural and soft, kind of like how final fantasy hair looks in the animated movie This is ofcourse a preference, but I personally never think extremely pointy spikes looks good, I brush them out a bit to give them a softer and "natural" look, yet still look like spikes Visual kei hair is very similar to anime-type hairstyles so yeah

Mrs. Hange [meaning hanges wife]: Can someone tell me the name of the haircut bc ive seen this before and I’ve been wanting to cut it like this for a while now
