Todoroki Wig Splicing Tutorial

After much request, here is how I splice wigs to get two toned wigs! This tutorial works great for characters like Todoroki and can be adjusted to make smaller patches of color.

Hey guys welcome to my wig splicing tutorial, so we're starting out here with our supplies. We have our base. Wigs, I'm using two epic cosplay wigs in Apollo, we're gon na need some scissors. Sharp scissors will do don't use hair shears. For this, though, you're gon na need a sewing needle some thread and optional, but you might want some sewing pins. Alright, so first things first is we're. Gon na need to cut the wig in half so holding the weight inside out we're gon na locate the middle elastic and using that as a guide, we're gon na. Take it all the way up to figure out where we need to cut it away depending on what half you're keeping you're gon na want to keep the middle elastic so keep it on the side that you want to keep I'm keepin the left side using your Scissors you're gon na just wiggle them under there to avoid cutting as much fiber of the wig as possible and you're gon na snip. The wax as you go up, the top part of the wig cap can be a little tricky to get through towards the center. Where all the spiraling of the wefts is, I had a little trouble cutting through cleanly without cutting the fiber, but just take it slow and you'll get through it pretty easily. I also make sure to brush off any fibers that might have come loose on the ends. All right, we now have both wigs separated, so next we're going to line up the front part of both wigs just using the edge as a guide. I'M gon na grab my needle, and this is where you might want the sewing pins to pin the weight together. It'S not really necessary, but if you're new to sewing it might help a little bit now, I'm going to be doing something called a whip stitch. It'S a super easy stitch and it's gon na make everything lay a bit flatter and you can get the stitches pretty tight and easy together. It'S a super easy stitch, just go around and around so one of the things you might want to do is especially on the top portion of the wig is keep all the stitches together as tight and dense as possible. This is just to make sure everything is extra, secure on the elastics band that we'll be sewing together in the back. It'S a lot easier to make them thinner and looser. They don't need to be as strongly put together when you're finished sewing. Flip your wig right-side out to see the progress you made and see how good it looks after a bit of styling. This is what I ended up with I'm pretty pleased with it. So hopefully this can help you, if you're looking to make a Todoroki, wig or something else, see ya.

Kylie Beaver: This is a bold idea but hear me out. If you still have the other halves of the wig and nothing else to use them for, you should make a todoroki wig specifically for TikTok. Then the red will be on the correct side when the selfie mode flips it and you can put the scar on the other side and it will look right after being flipped. Bam. No more “his scar is on the other sidddeeee” comments
