Hi, I'm Danielle with Godiva secret wigs and in this video I'm going to show you how to make one of our wigs a little bit larger. So sometimes the circumference of the wig might feel a little tight on you and there's a few different ways that we can handle this. So let's go over to the wig and I will show you some different ways. So these are adjustable elastic straps. So the first thing you just want to make sure that this strap is pulled out all the way, so that the end is right here at the plastic and then try the wig on once. You'Ve done that and see if it's, if it's loose enough, if not the next thing you can do, is just move this over just a little and I'm going to just cut the edge of this off and then I'm actually going to pull this elastic out. All the way, so I would try the wig on now and see because this really gives a lot and if it's still too tight, do the exact same thing on the other side. Now, if it's still too tight, what you can actually do is we're going to actually open up the wig and add some elastic. So first, I'm just going to cut this little piece off because we don't need it anymore. Just looks neater next thing I'm going to do. Is I'm actually going to cut this piece of elastic all the way off now, you'll see there's a lot of West down here at the bottom, I'm going to cut in between two of these Wes. So I'm just going to cut between here this first left and the second left or if I needed, even more real, I could cut between the second left and the third left. So I'm going to cut between the second and third right here in the middle. Just to show you I'm careful, though, not to cut the hair, only elastic and make sure you use better so they're to me. So now I just open this up, so you might try the wig on now and that might feel good to you. But if it's then feeling too loose, this is when we're going to add the extra elastic right here between these two cut pieces. So you're going to do about you know like half an inch of elastic, I'm just going to cut it. This is the elastic. This little piece is what I'm actually going to use. So I have my needle and thread so I'm going to take my needle and I'm going to put it up through the wig and then also up through this corner of the elastic. This little top right corner and pull it all the way through. So I'm right now going to be connecting this extra piece of elastic to these two pieces. So I'm going to do the same thing again up through the wig and then up through the elastic and the same thing one more time and then I'm actually going to make it not. So I have this loop of thread. I'M going to put the needle right through it now I'm going to do the same thing on the top part, so I'm going up through the wig and up to the elastic. Now I'm doing it on going sideways instead of going this way to the top, because I found that if you do it this way the elastic wrap unravels. So you want to do it from the side and this side so the second time it doesn't have to be perfect. You'Re mainly just attaching the elastic to the wig third time, I'm going to make that knot again, which just helps ensure that this is going to stay on really well. Now, I'm going to do the same thing to connect here to here. So again, I'm going up through the wig and up through the elastic I'm gon na. Do it a second, the wig and then I'm going to do a third time and I'm going to make that not like. I did on the other side and now I'm going to just do the same thing I just did, but do it on the bottom. I don't mind my sewing, I'm trying to sew, so you can see what I'm doing, I'm not blocking you. So I'm doing it. A little different than I would normally now I'm sewing left-handed just so I can show you guys and then you're going to do the same thing again and third, it's not easy sewing lifting and this last time when again do my little nut and I'm just going To cut it and I'm just going to not the last little pieces just to make sure everything stays where it's supposed to and if you were doing it you might take a little more time. So what we did is we added this half inch, so here it is so this is now half inch longer. So then you would try the wig on now and see how it feels and if it's still too tight, you could do the exact same thing, but here on the other side, just do it right here. So now that's how you're going to make your wig, bigger and they're really easy ways. You don't have to know too much about sewing to be able to do these and they're really really easy ways to make your wig larger. So I hope that's helped you and if your head is petite, we also have a video on how to make your wig smaller see you soon bye. You

Carol Hansen: I wanted to try this before but was afraid of ruining the wig! Thanks for demonstrating how easy this is.

ekf5018: Oh my god. I don't know why it never occurred to me to use the additional elastic already attached to the wig in order to extend the circumference, but thank god there's a simple way to fix my wig. Thank you so much :)

Brooke Bratt: Thank you so much for posting this!! My two favorite wigs are both too small for my head! I get a massive headache from wearing them! Can't wait to try this out!

Why am I here?: I REALLY like Danielle and her videos. She's so friendly, personable, and relatable. Thank you, Danielle!!

Brianna Moore: OH MY GOD I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS ALL MY LIFE!! I have a huge head, and all the wigs I buy are too small, but know I can just make it bigger and save so much money on the specialized "Big Headed Wigs"

S Small: Thank you for your tutorial!! Just cutting the elastic on both sides of my wig makes a comfortable difference! I also like using the elastic from the wig idea, too. ( new subscriber, first time viewing your videos)

elleusive: Thanks so much for this clear, concise and straight to the point tutorial. I’m new to wigs after cutting my hair and I was going crazy, my head is quite big and I’ve already tried 2 wigs that gave me headaches. I was getting frustrated and was going to cut it like a loon so really, thank you for this video.

Bri Lovely: I just received two wigs and both are too small for my head. I can't wait to try these tips!

nevroticfly: Wow thank you so much for those really clear explanations! So glad that I will be able to wear my wig without struggling for an hour to put it on!

Lil. Ms.J: Lady your out here saving lives. No but in all seriousness thank you for this

Linda Ferrell: Danielle, you make that look so easy! Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this! I'm off to go fix the 6/7 wigs that i have so I can actually wear them now!

Deb S: Thanks so much for this tutorial. Also, your video on thinning a wig especially bangs was the best tutorial I’ve watched and I’ve watched them all. The reason I say that is with each clip you continued to show how to hold the shears. Most of the videos would show you how to thin a wig but didn’t empathize how to hold them. Thanks again.

Lisa Wilkes: What a great tutorial! Thank you!!!❤

Chromatica: This is the only tutorial that actually worked for me. Thank you!

Ms Bigley: Wonderful video, I tried your method and it worked perfectly. Thank you so much!

Marjorie Milambo: Thank You. This is very helpful. I just did this and my wig fits perfectly. Thanks again!

Janell Tabora: Thank you very much. I am one of those people blessed with a big head but a ❤️ of affordable wigs. This video is so helpful. Especially telling us not to do both sides at the same time. I was about to do it before you said don’t ‍♀️

Brittany Jackson: thank you so much I've returned so many wigs because they were to small I'm doing this tonite!

Let's Cause Mayhem: i did this to one of my tight wigs, and it works. also this method makes more sense than trying to stretch out the wig, since that way seems harder and more time consuming

Sharon Juarez: Thank you for this video. My head measures 21”. And my Freedom medium is too small. The tabs are about 1/4” above the tops of my ears. I can’t wait to try the tips I saw on your and your Mom’s videos!

Gila Jacobsen: Thank you SO MUCH! I knew i could do this but you proved it. I need this so badly! I have allergies and sinus headaches often and cover my hair. Going to look at your website! thanks again.

Kalandra Harlan: Thank you for this video! You just saved me one of my good wigs! Plus I shared with my sis!

Carla O'Flynn Weems: Thank you for showing how to do this. I'm a 22 3/4" and now I know if I cant get a large cap I can easily give myself a bit more head room with an Average cap.

Tricia G: Omg.. I know this video is old but you just saved my life! Thanks to hair loss, I'm new to wigs, and I have a very big head so all of the ones I've bought are tight and I am prone to migraines so they give me a headache! I'm gonna go do this right now! Thank you so much! I've been watching a lot of your videos and they are all fantastic. You and your mom are such sweethearts!

sdraper2011: Great instructions for those of us who are members of the Big Head Club. I just used them make one of my favorite wigs fit beautifully. Thank you!

San Perique: This video is a lifesaver— well, at least a wig saver! There are wigs that I love but haven’t bought them due to size issues. Also, my size issue is not ear to ear but the circumference. Sometimes a wig that is big enough in circumference is way too big ear to ear. Awesome solutions here. You totally made my day!!!!

Debbie Hall: So extremely helpful. Thank you so much!

alayna davidson: thank you so much for this video just bought my first wig but its a tad too small. cutting up some of the elastic helped a lot

Linda Waters: Thank you for this! I have what our family calls the “back porch” on the back of my head so average size doesn’t fit as 23 and a half is definitely where a wig should be on my head. So, a question: if I make an adjustment on only one side of the wig, won’t the temple tabs then be uneven? I’m thinking I’d have to do same thing to both sides? Again, thanks for all your videos on you tube and help you give!

cosmic strawberry: Thank you so much this is so useful. Ive only been able to find cosplay wigs that are too small but glad they can be adjusted like this. Thank you!!

Utopia K.: Thank you for the video , I figured there had to be a way to stretch out these 22 and 22.5 inch wigs. (my head is 23 inches even ) will definitely try this !

B. tgla: Thank you so much for this video!!! My wig is so much better now!!!! New subscriber now!

Sasha Foxx: Holy moly, this is so ridiculously simple! Thank you for this! xoxo's

Inquiring Mind: Thanks for sharing these tips. It's made a huge difference!

Shannon G: Thank you so much I always purchase wigs with a medium cap size but the one I just purchased online leaves me to believe it isn't a medium. Your video has been the *only* helpful video that I have come across.

Kathy Kilduff: I am brand new to this and you just saved me the time, aggravation and loss of money of having to try to sell several wigs that I purchased in AVERAGE, that appear to run quite small. Thank you SO MUCH for literally, the best and most useful video I've seen yet and believe me...I have watched A LOT of wig related videos at this point! Again, thank you SO much! :)

Kakibot's Edinburgh Adventures!: Thank you for this video! Super helpful!

m lang: This is the perfect solution for my new hair that is a tad too small. My head size is caught between sizes.. Thank you sooooo much...❤️❤️

Jane Wood Branam: Very helpful because I have a large head. I need it to hold all my brains.

Rosanne Hadlock: Thanks for this. I'll be doing this for my wigs.

Julie Stewart: Thank you so much for this video. This was a big problem for me. Will try this today

SUZANNE BUNBURY: Thank you for this helpful and excellent video!!!!!! ♥️

Hinata Hyuga: The sides of my wig makes my wig feel too small more than the back although doing it this way makes it feel more comfortable so thanks for the tips !

NinaLuna Loenborg: This was super helpful, thank you!

Dee*the*singa: Excellent video! It was simple and clear.

Acimat: Thank you so much. I am already 23.5 inch head. It was bigger with all my hair. Now I don’t have to look for special wigs

DarkAngel1991: Thank you for this video. It helped my issue ❤️

RubenDelight Animates!: MY GOD thank you. I'm a guy and have about a 24-24,5inch head so finding wigs for cosplay is a dreadful nightmare. Gonna try this out when I get home immediately!!

TriciaTheSav: Thank you so much this was really helpful!

NextOnKlezi: Very helpful! Thank You :)

Julie Gogola: I am so glad to see this video, I have seen some videos about lace frontals and full lace wigs and how to make them bigger, and I was afraid that the other types (no lace) of wigs were different and harder or impossible to make bigger but this video is showing the other types of wigs and I have sent back some wigs that wouldn't fit me and I want to try this method on my too small wigs. I have kept some that I loved but couldn't wear, just because they were so beautiful, I know stupid of me.

Linda p.p.: VERY HELPFUL. I have mostly avg. size wigs. My Freedoms are avg. Now that I am wearing a wig grip I find most wigs are feeling small. I can sew anything so I will be altering some wigs. Thank you. I had not needed this until this year 2020.

Cian: Thank you Danielle, now I know just what to do! :)

Cindy's Wigs: Thank you...what a relief to my head!

Wendy Stegall: thank you so much! my head likes petite-average, which is an unusual size, so my new petite one now fits thanks to a bit of intelligent enlarging.

Lacey Lane: Omg! You just help me save an 80$ wig. I was about to chuck it in the trash! Thank you so much!

Lynn joh: Just purchased your Abigail wig which is great but after a while my sensitive head really hurt. So this is fantastic to alleviate the tension pressure. Thank you!

KERTO: WHERE HAS THIS BEEN MY WHOLE LIFE!? THANK YOU SO MUCH

Natasha Raisor: Thank you so much for the helpful tips. I’m am big headed gal

Emily Rosenzweig: This is SOOOO helpful. One question. If I need to cut the elastic between the wefts, does it matter if I do it close to the ear tabs or further back? My wig feels right right behind the ear tabs, so I thought cutting it there might help?

BubbaBubbles: You my queen, are a life saver! Thanks so much lol!

Carlene Thomas: I have a forehead and your first tip saved the day. Thank you so much!!!!!

Barbara Pawloski: I love Godiva Wigs but they are always just a little too tight for my big head. I was just trimming the the extra elastic off. I remember reading about another step but couldn't remember what it was. Thanks for the video...it's helped a lot.

That's What "i" Said: This is great, cuz I have a big head (23") but the wigs I'm most interested in are regular size. Thank you, very helpful; I wouldn't want to wreck my new wig with guess-work! Hi from Canada! (July 2022)

Erika Stewart: About how much do you gain from this? My head is 23" around but I have a lot of bio hair to cover so I've found the average cap size isn't working for me. Are there any styles that this wouldn't work for? Like pixies vs bobs vs long hair? And does this gain you enough extra space that it would fit like a large cap? Thank you so much!

Kathy Webb: Very Helpful, thank you so much.

W Brennisen: great tutorial, thanks for posting!

Lynn joh: Seeing the stretch technique was also helpful. Your wigs are not too shiny and look pretty natural. Your tutorials are a must. Big thank you!!!

ugomma: this is a GOD SEND!! Thanks!!

Leta Terrell: I have 2 wigs that are too small , will do this to them . Thank you so much .

Shirley Johnson: OMG! Thank You I can't ware nothing to tight on my head and I bought this wig and was like how can I loosen this. Goodness cause I wanted to were my wig and couldn't because of that know I can.

jcjana54: Thanks so much for showing this!

cindy johnson: Thank you Rochelle, I did purchase the wig from you guys, but I’m gonna try making it larger, either way I’m going to make work, just wish you guys hard sizes for the grey wigs, guess I need a large, 22 inches

Mutchy The Man: My measurements are, 24.8in in circumference (the one that goes from hairline, behind ear to bottom of neck, and back around the other ear). 13in on ear to ear and 13.7in on front to back (hairline beginning to back of neck). Do you think with this method I'd be able to stretch an average size wig enough? or is my head probably too big?

Jordyn Jean: TYVM, I haven't tried yet but I have 4-5 wigs I'd love to make bigger!!

Ele Fel: Thank you very much for the Tip. Is it possible to resize a cap and make it larger when it's a handtied Cap? Greetings from Germany .

Robbin: OMG I just fixed almost a $500 wig that I kept too long to send back. I don't know why I kept it I guess I thought my head was going to shrink or something. Thank you Danielle

Susan Hojdik: Great advice. Thank You.

Virginia W: Ty, great advice❤️

Tabitha Rose Freeman: My real hair under my wigs causes the wig to feel tight, of course I don’t any to cut my hair but this is a life saver

DannyJane: A tiny drop of Fray Check or clear nailpolish will prevent the elastic from raveling. Apply to the cut edges with an orange stick or the head of a pin so as not to get the stuff on the hair.

Queen-Beulah Official: Girl u are a life saver. Thank you!!!

DAT: Thank you. Your video was very helpful.

Christine: I thought I was done for Thank you so much

Lucy Ntuk: The best so far thank you so much

Josh Archer: WHOA. I've never been able to buy a wig and actually wear it cause they're so small on me (an average wig is 22-23" around) and my head is 26". I might use this trick and get myself a wig.

Dana Lynnette: Thank you! I was wondering where to cut

Ann Taft: Thanks for this info!

Marie A: Thanks so much for this. Will this help extend the wig down further on your nape ???

Canadian Kin: Very helpful!!

Endae'sha Reliford: Gonna try this, but the ear tabs are pushing on my ears. will this keep it from brushing up on my ears once glued or sewn down?

the recessionista: ive got 2 pixie wigs im going to try this on!!

Janina S.: Mine creeps up the back of my head rather than being tight. I feel like it will just pop right off. The cap is too small altogether rather than just tight. Will doing this make it stop from creeping up? Thanks!

Julie Mann: Danielle--please tell me if you need to sew the elastic back on or can you just leave it open? Thank you for a great video.

Aye Stella: If I wanted to add more elastic. Where could I buy it from?

🌟Steph🌟: Thank you! ❤
