Chey1214: A few tips about wigs from a cosplayer! 1. Use fabric softener, it acts like conditioner 2. Always brush the tips of the wig out first and then work your way up the section slowly. It gets knots out easier and puts less strain on the roots, causing them to break out less 3. If you’re not sure if a wig is heat resistant or not, do a strand test to make sure it won’t melt and ALWAYS use the lowest setting

peepla7: Two things: 1. the watercolor method only works on human hair and human hair wigs, if you want to dye synthetic wig you need to use Rit-More dye... Is specifically made for synthetic fabrics. 2. Hot water dissolves whatever style the synthetic wig is in. I use hot water to make a straight synthetic with curly or to release the curls in a curly synthetic wig, you can roll it up and then dip it in hot water wait 30 seconds and it will set the hair. you do not use hot water on a synthetic wig if you do not want to change the texture of the wig.
