Hey friends, I'm here today with another commonly asked, question and answer so a common question that I get is how long do wigs last. The answer to that like a lot of things in the wig journey is it depends so, let's kind of break it down. So, depending on what you're talking about you might be talking about regular synthetic, you might be talking about heat friendly synthetic. You might be talking about human hair, or you might even be talking about a 20 budget, wig they're all going to have different answers and the length of time that they last will depend on the following factors: how you wear them? How often you wear them? How long you wear them when you wear them, how you care for them? What kind of products do you use on them? How do you style them and your expectation, that's a really really important one that I want to break down just a little bit more, so we all have different expectations when it comes to our wigs. What we think looks natural and realistic, honestly is completely subjective and what looks super realistic to one person doesn't look realistic to another person. That is one of the things that makes the wig Journey super hard and I'm starting to get sweaty. So if I start to perspire, don't mind me, I am going through the change and I have hot flashes constantly um. So when you're told information by someone like me or another wig sister or another influencer, somebody out there sharing information publicly. What you're getting from us is uh, most of the time, our subjective opinion or preference. There really isn't black and white when it comes to wigs, maybe a few little things, but mainly it's personal preference. What I think looks realistic, may not look realistic to you over the years. I'Ve learned to be very accepting of some Wiggy things that to me are just par for the course. One of those things is how dry wigs can start to feel. I personally don't care because nobody's touching my wigs and even if they're super dry, they tend to look really realistic still and I would argue, the more dry, sometimes the more realistic, because if you look around - and I always tell my wig sisters - become observers when you're Out in public, I want you to pay attention to people's hair. I want you to see what does their hair look like? What are the Styles they're wearing it in? What are the things that you see on them? That you would normally think is Wiggy on a wig, for example, if you've got some graying at your sideburns. That'S where I grade first and most, and so I look around and I notice there are a lot of people who have a lot of gray right here, but really no gray on the rest of their hair. As a wig wearer, you might think that's a dead giveaway, but if you look in reality, I don't think it is so anyway, that's a digression: let's go back to how long do wigs last typically heat friendly synthetic lasts anywhere from two to three months, depending on How often you wear how long you wear, how you care and what you think is realistic. Regular synthetic can last two to four months, lasts, just a little a bit longer than heat friendly synthetic, because those fibers are just a little bit less sensitive to things. Like friction friction is the enemy of all synthetic wigs. The more your wigs rub up on your clothing, the more you brush out your wigs, it's always kind of common wisdom that you use a wide tooth comb on your wigs and don't brush them. The more you play with them, the more product you use on them. All of that will impact their longevity, but in a sort of perfect world it's commonly accepted that synthetic wigs last about two to four months with daily wear. If you don't wear your wigs every day or if you only wear them for a couple of hours, when you wear them, you're going to have a lot longer longevity likely out of your wigs now some of you are going to say. Well, I have this wig that I've worn for six or eight months and it's still going strong. Someone else is going to say to me. I have been wearing my wig for three weeks and it's already trash. It'S such a personal journey and one person's excellent condition is another person's trash. I mean really that's the challenge here in the wig wearing Journey human hair. Wigs, on the other hand, last substantially longer generally than synthetic wigs. You can expect one to three years out of a human hair wig depending again on the quality. If you purchase a super budget, human hair wig and it's not high quality, it's not Remy r-e-m-y, Hair, meaning all the cuticles are going in the same direction. You might not get as much longevity out of your human hair. Likewise, if you don't care for your human hair, you don't know how to care for it. You might not get as much longevity. You have to condition it regularly use oils on it and things, because it's not a attached to your scalp. It'S not getting scalp oils to keep the hair healthy. It will dry out faster if you don't care for it, but generally with proper care. You can expect a human hair wig to last one to three years. Higher quality human hair will last a lot longer. I'Ve also heard people say, and I am only really pretty new with my human hair experience. I don't have enough yet to really give you an a personally educated opinion on this, because I have I've only actually had some human hair wigs for a few months, but um I'm losing my train of thought. I got ta stay focused um. I, what I've heard from people often is that the cap sometimes gives out before the hair gives out so just a little food for that for you. But this is just a quick video to kind of give you the general wisdom. There is going to be so much variation in this. It is really really hard for anyone in the wig journey. To give you a definitive answer, all we can do is sort of give you the general wisdom and then our own personal experience and the beauty of hearing from someone like me, or somebody else, who's very public and and maybe knowing a little bit as an influencer Which I really personally cringe at, but I guess it is what it is, is that we also have the blessing to hear from so many of our wig sisters out there. And so I have anecdotal stories up the Wazoo about just about everything and when it comes to wig wearing and Longevity, I really do hear the gamut. I get complaints that wigs don't last more than a month and then I have people who their wigs just go and go and go so if you're new to the week Journey. The best thing I can advise you to do is ask a lot of questions. Watch a lot of videos: I have tons of great videos for new wig wearers and learn how the best way to care for your wigs so that they last the longest and then just enjoy the experience it's hard. First. It is really hard at first, but it does get better the more you try don't give up, because you can do it. If I can do it, I had the worst time in the beginning. Really truly cried constantly. It was not easy if I can get to where I am today. You can absolutely do it too, thanks guys for watching talk to you soon.

Jean Jacobs: Greetings Denise! You know, most of my wigs last for years, but maybe it's because I switch them out with each other. Now, certain Amazon purchases may not last as long, but that's okay with me. Thanks for the video! Love and blessings ♥️

Victoria Lang: Thank you for your honest opinions! Have a blessed Thanksgiving ❤

Lisa Whiteman: Thanks for all you do for your wig sisters ... By the way you're looking great

Cindy Frischer: Wow! Thank you for this video. I learned a lot. ❤

Kat Pic: Yes I rotate heat friendly wigs, and am very gentle to getmore wear out of them.. thank you Denise for all you do .. happy Thanksgiving!

Michelle Diekman: I agree it varies so much. Hugs Dear Lady, Hope your doing Well and enjoying the Nice Week ❤️

Donna Q: I can tell when a wig is dead. It's like all of a sudden it's flat, ugly, no shape etc. No question on when it turns into a gardening or just at home outside wig. I believe people when they say their wig lasted 3 weeks. I have had wigs like that. I do not believe people who say their wigs last 6 months unless they only wore it 6 times during that 6 months, lol. I can give a pretty good answer to this question. No wig I have ever purchased lasted more than 3 months in the condition I would wear out in public.

Clara: I agree dry fibres that aren't perfect looking actually look the most realistic to my eyes anyway

Brenda Lucas: Love you! Thank you for sharing. Have a great Thanksgiving

Michelle Ray: Man, this vid is the truth! I've had cheap wigs that lasted forever, then some that died a quick ☠️. Had a Revlon that lasted 20 years with sporadic wear, and lots of tdi fiber soft spray and steam setting. One tough wig. Lol Before I forget, Denise you might want to try black cohosh for your menopause symptoms. It's a natural supplement that helped me tremendously with those evil hot flashes and night sweats. I took it twice a day, morning and night.

Wendy Amsterdam: You can fix a lot with human hair, with deep conditioning or Olaplex. My most worn still has good hair but the lacefront is a mess

Jen Jen: Thanks for the info. Very helpful. Can I ask what shampoo and conditioner you use on your human hair wigs? I just bought one, and have no clue.

Cookie D49: When you say how long they last are you referring to how long the STYLE LASTS, or how long before the hair falls out, or if it looks AWfuL?? Thanks for your answer!!

I Dream of Wigs: Mine don’t seem to last as long because I use a lot of products….wig wax and sea salt spray. My local wig shop tells me ALL the time….NO products.
