Hey everybody, it's alyssa, and today i am dyeing my hair again, it's basically the same color as before, except this is drugstore hair dye. Instead of professional hair dye gon na compare the two, my professional hair purple hair lasted not even a week, so it was really really weird and i don't know why it happened, but my roots turn like this copper color. I mean it's not like that bad, like it's, it's brown, but it's like a copper. My roots did but when i would turn my hair this way, all of this side was still purple, so it was only at the top right here, and i guess i don't know, because it's exposed more - that the purple just left and like half of my head Was purple and half was brown so that really sucked? So i decided, let me pay seven dollars and test this hair dye out, because i've read a bunch of reviews on it. It is the vital sassoon little vital sassoon and it looks really really purple on camera. But it's like a deep purple like black purple and um it's in five rv and it's the london luxe. That'S like the the brand and it's in london lilac. So i've read a lot of reviews on it. So this is the permanent and it says um up to eight weeks of vibrant color. So we shall see so i'll show you what's inside, so you have the developer in the little bottle: hydro block color, preserving conditioner. So that's awesome! I can use this for a while, it's a big bottle, and then you have the color itself and then you'll just mix it all up, and then you have instructions with some gloves inside. So this is really really good for seven dollars. This was only seven dollars. Really really really good price, especially like just for how great i've heard it is. I don't know if it's gon na be great yet so my hair is very like they're warm tones and they're kind of brassy yellowy so to um, make the brassiness go away. If you look at the color wheel, it goes to purple and blues for the cool tones and yeah. So that's what i'm going to do and if it's a fail, i'm still going to post it and if it's not, then hopefully my hair is going to look good. So it's like nighttime now and i'm in my bathroom. So i'm sorry that the lighting is really bad, but you can still probably tell what i'm doing so. I took my hair down and i brushed it out. So there's no tangles and i went ahead and looked over the instructions and everything they're really really easy to understand. They have it in four different languages. What i'm gon na do is i'm gon na split. My hair into four sections is all right. Now i'm just going to apply and this is yellow, so it's a unique color. So i'm just going to apply this back the finger and shake for 20 seconds. So i think that's good, so i'm just gon na start applying from the roots. Why not and yeah? So, let's, let's do this, i don't know all right well, as you can see, i have hair dye all over my face and my arms and my legs and everywhere else, but you can see how bright it is. Actually, the lighting's, not even picking up like it kind of looks pink, but if you have my hair length, which is like to my shoulders, i used up one full bottle. So um one bottle will be enough for shorter length hair and i guess it depends on how thick your hair is mine's pretty thick so yeah. So if you have past shoulder length, hair, then two bottles, definitely because they are pretty small bottles. So the time it says 30 minutes. So that's what i'm gon na do. I'M gon na set my timer to go timer for 30 minutes. I think i'm actually going to do 45, just because i want it not fade as fast um yeah. So i'm going to clean myself up, wait: 45, 40, 45 minutes, and then i will get back to you with, like the shampoo and stuff that i'm going okay. So the camera is kind of tilted a little bit um. It'S been 40 minutes and you can tell my hair, looks black and, like you can see the purple, and this is exactly how the professional, when i got it, done professionally, how it looked, and that was ten times more money. It was like thirty dollars to buy all the professional stuff that my aunt did, and this was seven, so it looks the same um and we'll see how long it lasts. So what i'm using in the shower is the conditioner that came with the pack or the the box, so usually box dyes do not come with a huge conditioner like this. It comes with like a little packet that you just use after, but this one comes with weekly like this is a weekly treatment and like this bottle, will last a while. So it says on the back right after coloring rinse color, completely from hair, so yeah and then don't use shampoo, because shampoo is just gon na make the color go away and since hair dye it absorbs all the oils in your hair. You don't really need to wash it like with shampoo, because there's going to be no oils in your hair right after your diet anyway. So then, you're just going to put like a quarter size amount of this and just saturate your hair and leave it in for two minutes. So it's kind of like a mask and you use this once a week to preserve your color, and i heard this works really really good and if you don't have that or you don't want to use that, i recommend getting like a mask like a hair mask I'Ve been using this for about a month now like just this little sample packet, and this is the mystic divine argan oil nourishing mask and this stuff works. Amazing. I'Ve noticed a complete difference in my hair. My hair feels softer and smoother, and i use this once a week as well. So if you want to keep your hair healthy and shiny, i do recommend buying a hair mask, especially one that has like argan oils and stuff to keep your hair shiny. So that is what i'm going to use, so i'm just going to go ahead and take a shower. So i'm back and you can see in the sliding that it's hella purple and i like it, but it's not this bright as it is in here and excuse. My messy room - i probably should clean it, but it like. Okay inside it looks black, but once you hit starting lighting, it's like really really bright. Purple like in here you can see it, especially under the light you can see the purple tint to it, but like when i was in my parents room, it looked black. So if you don't want your hair to look black, then i wouldn't really use this product, but if you want a dark color with a sub like a tiny, tiny hint of purple, then this is definitely it for you. This is like really. This is awesome. This is brighter than when i used um professional stuff, not when i used it when my salon person used it or whatever, so i'm gon na do a test and see how long this stays in my hair. So the salon when i got the salon it lasted not even a week, so i'm gon na try my best to keep this here as long as possible, and oh my gosh, it's the prettiest color ever so i'm going to take some pictures outside tomorrow to show You guys the true color of it, and maybe you guys will be able to see it, but i really really do like this product and i wanted to say that the conditioner that came with the box is awesome. Okay, my hair is extremely soft right now. I have not had any tangles in my hair since i put that conditioner in and i have not even brushed my hair yet like this is just it's so soft. My hair has never been this soft before so that conditioner is freaking awesome and i think you can go buy it in the stores as well like actual like bottles, and i might actually go do that because um i read. If you want to keep colored hair, then you need a sulfate free, shampoo and conditioner. I might be wrong but yeah, so i'm in love with this i'm going to let it air dry, because i don't. I don't need to put heat on it. Unneeded heat but yeah, i will show you guys what this looks like in the sun and i hope you guys enjoyed this video. It wasn't really a tutorial. kfed2580: Vidal sassoon is the only dye i use. I have done the london lilac when i want to go deeper and more cool toned and the main one i use for my red is called runway red. I have been asked by random people what color i use and they never believe its box dye, because runway red is the brightest red you can find at the drugstore! The color looks awesome on you, and it does take a while to fade!
tyblips: this color is so pretty :D friend of mine bought this, and it turned out the same way, id bleached my own hair and trimmed it, and dyed the cut off bits, and it was an awesome purple pink, its a gorgeous color. its reminding me of the manic panic i ended up getting, but the manic panic ultra violet, is a dusty, purple/blue in some light, and a deep plum color in other :D
Dana P.: Nice video! I used the same product in my hair about 2 weeks ago and my hair is still pretty purple if I go in the sun. Inside though, it has faded back to my natural hair color; brown. I agree with you about the conditioner. It makes my hair so soft and does a really a good job keeping color in. I also use a sulfate free shampoo and they really so make a difference. Sulfates strip your hair oils and hair color making your hair quite dry sometimes. Avoid silicones too!

Emily Oberholzer: Just FYI, girls with long hair don't really need to buy two boxes. My hair is thick and down to the middle of my back/meets my bra clasp and I've only needed one box and most of the time I have some dye leftover (but I use it all just in case spots were missed). But other than that, awesome video and the color turned out amazing! I've been wanting to dye my hair some type of purple for awhile now and I now have the shade I like thanks to this video

XxMermaid KissesxX: if you want a long lasting purple use argon oil intensity purple dye or ion color brilliance hair dye. Heck even beyond the zone hair dye. I dont use manic panic because it does not last long at all lolz. Basically it depends on what you are going for.

bobbi d: the color of the dye when you first mix it is basically the base color.. as it develops (darkens in this case) it becomes a deeper shade of that same color. that's why when purple/red dyes fade they look brassy/copper.. purple and red tend to fade very fast...but when it fades you can go over it with a red, purple or pink fashion color such as manic panic, pravana, sparks etc because the faded color provides a nice base for fashion color and your color will most likely last a lot longer this way

Ki: This colour looks brilliant, the only way to get the colour a light purple. Would be prelightining which is bleaching the hair. which possibly would go a yellow/orange colour. Then apply a violet toner with the purple dye to get a light purplish colour. Because achieving a light purple colour, you would want to add ash to counteract the orange which is the warmth in your hair.
