In this video i'm going to bring this wig back to life. Clearly it needs restoration. The nape is crazy, tangled the top of it doesn't look too bad, but when i show you the closure, you probably might scream, it was balding and what i did is i just kept: cutting it down, lower and lower and lower and honestly, i'm gon na. Do it again, eventually, i'm gon na swap out the closure, but i'm not ready to do it quite yet, but anyways, i'm gon na just go through a series of events to make this look a lot better than it is. As you can see, the the parting is a hot mess too. So what i'll be using to detangle this hair is my detangle brush a comb and some water. The water will just be for more of the stubborn tangles, but that's essentially what you need. Oh and some clips and some pins to pin down the hair, because if you have serious, tangles you're gon na need it so about this hair. I got this hair from uni's hair on aliexpress like a few years ago like three four years ago, and i got it for the nice price of 68 pounds. I looked and i seen that it's not that much anymore. It'S a lot more and i don't know why they raise their prices, but i'm glad i got it. Whilst it was good anyways, it is three 16 inch bundles and a 14 inch middle part closure. So for the detangling process, i just sectioned off the hair and was working on one section at a time just so i can really get the tangles out if you're wondering how i let this wig get so bad. Well, most of that nape tangling is from one night i had in florida. We were all wasted going from bar to bar club to club, and i just wasn't brushing my hair, like i don't know where my scents went, but it's okay, because i'm fixing it now. So, in order to bring this wig back to life, what i'll be doing is boiling cutting dyeing and fixing the closure. If you're watching this to follow along and do this to your own wig, you don't have to follow every single thing i did, but the one thing i would recommend that you do is boiling it, because that really brings it back to life. So i'm just going to finish up the detangling here and then i'll be back to explain the next part. So after detangling i'm going in with a clarifying shampoo. If you do this, i recommend a clarifying shampoo because it really gets in there and cleans it. Just strips all the crap off of the hair, and it's also good for getting like makeup and glue off of the closure. So this is a great step before boiling. Also, the clarifying shampoo i'm using is from suave and it's a 30 ounce bottle for just under two dollars at walmart, and it works perfect for me every time. So a pro tip for when working with clarifying shampoo is when you're working it in don't be too vigorous because you, you can actually end up tangling it and that'd be a damn. Shame considering you just spent all that time, untangling it so just kind of run. Your fingers, through it to just rake out any tangles or just use a brush here, i'm just pouring some of the clarifying shampoo onto the cap and just like giving a good old wash. So what i'm first going to do is boil it without conditioner. I did this because this hair was previously dyed jet black and i wanted to kind of remove some of the dye because i'm going to dye it again later. But i wanted to remove some of the dye here at this point so that when i do the boiled mixture with the conditioner, it doesn't just leak out and mess with the conditioning process. Like i mean i'm sure i could have did without this step, but i just i don't know at that time. It made sense, but you don't have to do this part if you don't want to so here. I'M just rinsing out any leftover of whatever may be left over do make sure to let it cool down, because it was really hot for the boiling pot with conditioner. I used this husk keratin protein conditioner. You can use whatever you like. I would have liked to have used a cheaper one, but that was a gift, so i didn't care about saving any of it. I used three quarters of the bottle. I'Ve seen most people use like silicone mix, but i do actually have that. I don't know why i didn't use that, but yeah just use whatever you like. I must mention before you dip your wig in turn off the heat. So you want to do this with like the residual heat, because i don't know i'm just like paranoid that if you keep the heat on when you pull your wig out, there's not going to be a hair left. I just get really paranoid, so i just turned the heat off completely so for the first couple of seconds i kind of like dunk it in and then like pick it back up, dunk it in and pick it back up just to make sure that the hair Is okay and it's taking the heat? Well, so i left my wig in this mixture for 15 minutes. I felt like that was a decent amount of time. For this side. Note, it's a positive side! Note! If you do this, your house will smell great. My house smells like conditioner for hours, so that's a plus, but this is it after the 15 minutes. I let it cool down, and then i rinsed it. If you don't rinse it, your hair's gon na feel tacky and gummy, and you don't want that so rinse out the conditioner as you would, if you were just to wash and condition some hair. So, for the cutting part, all i'm going to do is just cut some curtain bangs, i'm not going to explain this method because it's not even my method. It'S a tick-tock hack and i watched brad mondo's video on youtube on how to do it. So i was following it as i was doing this, but if you don't want to go to someone else's video i'll, just kind of semi-explain, so you just kind of part a v-shape at the front of the hair, and you just cut i messed up, though i Really messed up here because my wig was too far forward on the wig head, so where i thought i was cutting at the chin. No on my head, i was cutting it like my nose, so i cut them a bit short, but thank god, it's not bad. Like it wasn't one of those horror, bang stories like it was nothing too crazy actually worked out just fine, but i would have liked them a little bit longer. So you pretty much just like over direct the hair and then cut, and it should form like the layers, but i wouldn't follow what i'm telling you i. I would just recommend you watch it or, if you're like a visual learner, and you can see what i'm doing and you can emulate it, then i guess you can do that, but i do recommend watching a video if you really want to do it. So all i did for this part was just diet. Jet black, i used the revlon color silk in the color 10, which is just a regular black and i'm showing just a snippet of the dyeing, because i figured who would want to watch all of that. It would just be really random for this to be a transformation. Video and i'll show you like a whole 20 minutes of dying, so i'm just showing a little bit of when i was dying the closure. So i left the die in for an hour and then i washed it out, i'm just loving how it looks so shiny, so dark. I love it. So i straightened the hair off camera and all i have left to do are the bangs i'm going to use my blow dryer and a round brush to kind of give that blowout effect. But before i do that, i'm going to wet the bangs with this keratin leave-in spray. So if you want more of a bump like a proper bump, you just keep doing that same thing over and over, but i wanted just a swoop just a slight swoop to fix my board closures. I try not to do this because i actually hate doing this. I use like an eyebrow, pencil or eyeliner pencil. I usually use black, but i couldn't find mine, so i'm using brown and i just kind of fill in the sparse um areas why i hate doing this is because, if you forget - and you like touch the top of your head, you just have like eyeliner on Your hand - and it's it's a bit annoying also disclosure. I just i don't know it looks a hot mess. There wasn't much. I can do to even really save it. I do need to swap it out like that's what i have to do at this point. Like i should stop cutting it down, i should stop doing all of that extra stuff, but for now this will work up close, i will say it looks a lot worse like when it's on my head. You can't really tell that there's too much craziness going on on the top of my head, but this is like a temporary fix and then what i like to do is go in with some type of pressed powder and a little brush and just kind of paint. The pressed powder into the closure um. I also like to rub it in like when you rub it in it really like sticks onto the lace. So it's like, i feel like that, helps, but this is the final result. It'S moving! It'S shaking it's doing what it's supposed to do. The bangs are banging. I really like this. I'M gon na cut another one on my wigs, the exact same way, because i was really feeling this, but today was wash day and i didn't try it on, and this video needs to be out. I think what i'll do is i'll change the thumbnail to a picture of it on my head, so you can actually see what it looks like, but that is it. If you like this, like comment and subscribe, and thanks for watching
