Hi everyone, thank you so much for being here today. My name is denise, i'm also known as haywig's sister on instagram and facebook. Today, i'm here to bring you a wig review. I have on the wig movie star by ellen villa from her peruki collection in the color hot chili mix, which is 133.132.33 movie star in hot chili mix. This is my first experience with this color and i cannot wait to show you it so in this video we're going to talk all about movie star, i'm going to show you the cap, i'm going to tell you what my impressions of her are. How does she fit me all of those good details and then we'll also get outside so that you can see this color outside? I also have an out of the box, which i will tack on the end, so you can see what she looked like out of the box. All i did to her was spray her down. Actually, i think i soaked her in water because i was already soaking. Another wig, so i stuck her in a sink full of cool water. Then i shook her out really good. I scrunched her up while wet and then i hung her upside down, and this is what we've got. I have done nothing else to her and i have no product in her. So let's look at movie star from all sides. So what really spunky cute curls right she's? Definitely i have a stray hair right here is definitely a wild curly girl has a lot of really um kind of messy deconstructed curls that are not uniform. So we'll talk a little bit about that and a shorter fringe in the front. But before we do that, let's look at this color hot chili mix, hot chili is a great. Let me turn the lighting this way so that you really get strong lighting on this. So you can kind of see all the dynamic colors running through this so 130. What did i say, 131, 133 or 132 133 and a 33, so the 33 is a dark auburn and those 130s. When you get into the 130s with reds, you get super vibrant fiery, copper, colors, that's what those 130s are, and this is definitely vibrant. Coppery super red, definitely bold, um. I would absolutely say that if you love bold, bold reds, this one is going to be right up your alley. It'S just beautiful and it's a mix, and so it's not rooted. So you can kind of see some of the highlighting with that dark auburn some of the darker tones, but it's not specifically rooted so really beautiful. As far as the cap construction goes so movie star has a very small lace front. I'Ll show you that when i take the cap off and a mono crown i'll show you that as well a model crown really, i think, is meant to just make it look, lay a little bit more natural right at the crown it kind of makes. The hair lay a little bit more like a normal hairline would lay it's not really there to be visible, and this lace front is very i'll. Show it to you. I mean it's definitely a bit extended, but it's very shallow. It'S a very shallow lace front. So really you're just getting lace right there. So if you wanted to pull this up off of your head, you sure could it's a good lace front as well? It'S it's definitely. You know the challenge with wigs like this they're darker colors. So it's a little bit more difficult to make those knots completely invisible, but i really think that they did a good job. The lighting is a little crazy. Today i have one less light on me than typical, because i've already packed up one of my giant box lights, because i am getting ready to move, but all right. Let'S take a look at this cap. I will say that this one fits me um more petite average than my girl monos do so it does fit me snug there is that lace front. I was telling you about. It does extend all the way to the the top of the ear tabs, but it's not super deep. There is no monofilament and there's that mono crown just that little tiny bit of monofilament right up there because of how curly this wig is. I don't think you are going to miss a mono part or a mono top. You cannot see permatease i'll show that, to you at least not visible, permatease and um, so with really curly wigs. It can be really hard to see the monofilament anyway, and so you end up paying for a feature feature that's more expensive and you don't really get the bang for your buck. It'S got the soft ear tabs with the adjusters. The metal stays in there extended nape velcro adjusters. She does have a little bit of permatease to help with this curl and she definitely has a lot of curl. So there is permatease if you really dig so i'm in at where there might be a part. If you really dig in there, you can see a little bit of permatease. It is not visible, though, when you're wearing her, because the curls are just perfect and they come off the cap. Just perfect. The permatease on here is to help with the volume of the curls it isn't poofy or pillowy. So it definitely doesn't feel like a poofy big wig at all, but she has a decent amount of hair. She has a lot of curl and then, with the way that they've layered that curl, you can get some good volume out of this one and if you're not used to curly hair, you might feel a little overwhelmed because of how kind of wild and curly she Really is it's not because she's super poofy, it's just the curls and they kind of boing out, and it is that messy type of curl pattern, not a real organized or fully formed curl pattern. So you know some people really love that, and i think for days when you're, just looking for sort of a a wild and messy look, maybe running around you're, not looking to look too polished. This kind of curl pattern actually could be really perfect, and then she has this fringe right here that swoops over to the side really nicely, and if you wanted a bang in her, the challenge you would have is the curls. So you can see when i take her first of all, it's too long to be a bang, but if you were to cut her, the curls are all throughout this. They go all the way up to the cap and in a wig, when that happens, you run the risk of cutting a fringe and then having it be in the wrong place of that curl pattern and having it lay funny. So i'm not sure that this would be an easy one to cut bangs into. I really think you'd have to be quite experienced and then be willing to take some heat to the bang, to get that curl wherever it's falling, to lay right so that the bang lays right. But if you don't, if you like a little bit of a fringe, you want something on your forehead, but you can do without a full bang. This one does look really cute just sort of pulled a little bit forward and does sweep to the side really nicely. Not bothersome at all, she doesn't hang in my face or in my eyes and when i do sweeper she stays put because those curls kind of support each other and keep them where you put them the coverage on this one, even though she runs average petite is Really good on me, which is typical for ellen villa. I get really good coverage on ellen villa, because the way that they put these ear tabs and they sit in front of my ear, giving my um low hairline, really good coverage um. But there is still good clearance between the ear tab and my ear so wearing glasses is going to be just fine. I can tuck this one tucking curly. Wigs is always just a little tricky, but definitely i can tuck her and then she looks really cute and that does tame her a little. Let me tell you a quick tip, a trick that i use to tame curls or poof. If you have teeny tiny little claw clips, you can clip down, you can like lift up the top layer, clip down a little bit of the hair to the cap. Put that layer back down, then you don't see the clip and it looks flatter. I have a video on how to do that. It is a tip tuesday video. So if you go to my playlist, titled tip tuesdays, um and look through that about taming poof. That'S what the video is about and i show how you can use little claw clips to tame poofy wigs so that you aren't so overwhelmed by them. And you can wear them. It is amazing how well that works, and i hope that it will be something that you can use so that you can expand your wig repertoire and potentially give yourself the time you need to get used to some of these wilder styles, because i tell i will Promise you, if you work toward it, you can get to the point where you're comfortable wearing them. It just takes some baby steps. Otherwise this is great she's comfortable. I get no extra cap up here, so it really is average petite. I would look at my measurements. I really am hesitant to recommend anyone bigger than me anywhere to wear this. One there's barely any stretch in this, so i'm 22 inch circumference. I really wouldn't want to be bigger than that, and so please look at my measurements if you're bigger than me by very much at all, you might find her to be just too snug on you, but if you're used to snug wigs, then maybe give it a Try otherwise she is adorable. I love this one for summer for wearing with turtlenecks in the winter. I am going to wear her a lot. I think i think the only issue i have is this isn't an everyday color for me, but i just love this look and you can put product in her some peace out cream, some beach spray, other types of styling, and if you wanted to scrunch her, even More to get even more of a wild look at that. I have a mirror right there. That is awesome. You can absolutely amp up this curl. If you want to amp it up, go for it. If you want to tame it down, i would just be careful. Not to frizz her, i would not comb this one. Personally ever i wouldn't run a comb through her. The best i would do would be to use my fingers and then you can get her a little bit tamer and then, if you tuck her or use clips with the layers, you can actually really change the profile. So from that aspect, she's awesome she would also be really awesome with headbands. A headband would be great to tame some of this and just change up the look all right guys, let's get outside, so you can see this beautiful, color outside and stick around for the out of the box. If you're curious what she looked like out of the box, she really wasn't bad and was real easy to just get her where i needed her with just a little bit of water. Thank you so much for watching. Please subscribe and like this video. If you find this content helpful and stick around for future videos, i'll talk to you guys soon, hey everyone here, we are outside with hot chili mix. This was one i was super excited to show you outside. Look at that color redheads rejoice! This is beautiful. I love the blend of the dark auburn and the vibrant copper. It is gorgeous so beautiful, really really pretty. Let'S get out in the sunlight, see what that sun does it's a nice sunny day. Wow here comes the sun in full force, so you can really see it beautiful, beautiful color. Isn'T this a cute style if you're looking for a shorter, just wild curly style? This is a great one. Still have your lace front, you don't need the monofilament. You can't see the permatease, but you really couldn't probably see it anyway, with all the waves just gorgeous beautiful style. I might just keep her on for the rest of the day now, because she is super cute, comfortable, lightweight, easy to wear. Thank you so much for watching i'll talk to you guys soon, all right! Everyone, i'm here to do the out of the box for you of movie star. So all i've done with her is taking the tag off. I have not shaken her out and i quick tried her on because i just i don't want to be surprised on camera, but um. That'S all i haven't shaken her out. I haven't fluffed her up. I haven't put my fingers through her nothing. This is straight out of the box, so this is one of two wigs that i just purchased on clearance from wig studio one, and that means that it's an open box that somebody purchased it and sent it back. So, oh wow! This is cute okay, so i do see some box here. It'S not horrible, but definitely you know fluffy in some places flat in some places. You know just not you're, not gon na throw this on your head and go okay. So what do we do? First thing you always have to do is shake out a wig, and i know i talk about this in every video but um. My opinion is, if you stuck around to the out of the box, then you're hungry, for this information, because experienced wig wearers, probably aren't staying around for this part of it be just because i think you know once you get the hang of this. You kind of know um and you have more realistic expectations. So you're gon na shake shake shake shake a lot you're trying to wake these fibers up, get them off the cab. You can give it some tosses. You know gravity i'm almost always going to just hang away upside down for a while. Let gravity awaken those fibers. So now, let's see what we've got now that we shook her out now. You know you can't do that if you're not sure if you're keeping the wig, so that's going to be a challenge. Wow holy smokes. Okay, obviously, that's not how it's going to stay, but look at how much volume i got just shaking it out. You wait. The fibers need to be woken up. Oh yes, this one's gon na be so cute all right now with a curly wig. I always have a dilemma: am i going to comb it, or am i not going to comb it so, like my girl manos, i don't comb through, but sometimes curls need to be combed, just kind of get them separated and settled. So i'm going to do a little bit here just to see what i'm working with i'm just looking in my mirror, okay, so this is what we got for now so um, based on what i'm seeing she really woke up really well, just with that shaking there Is a little bit of permatease up here, i can feel it which means she's getting a little time for that to be woken up because she's curly and i'm always curious um. What the potential of curls are. I'M gon na spray, this one down with water and get it nice and wet um. You know sometimes i'll just choose. You know what i may just soak this one and uh and because i just did another wig, i'm doing a couple of out of the boxes. Right now - and i soaked the other one in cool water in the sink for about two minutes, switched it around and then now she's actually hanging in my shower right now to dry upside down on a laundry hook. So because my sink, it still has that water. In it, maybe i'll just kind of submerge this one and my goal here is to see what the potential for these curls are. I can always comb them out and relax them and making sure we've gotten all of the hair. In my eye, all of the fibers off of the cap woken up that permatease. This is my personal preference for how to deal with wigs. I usually spray them or soak them other people. Maybe you do just let them hang upside down for a while water will not hurt this wig at all, and so i just find that's my go-to solution, but for you it's really going to be about trial and error, and just working with the wigs that you Get to figure out how to make them look like you want them to look so the out of the box on this one wasn't bad, but she had a little bit of box hair that i truly believe water, scrunching and hanging will completely take care of i'll. Have told you all of that already, but now you got to see it thanks for watching you

sapat: Wow! Those are bright pink highlights. It's cute, but the back is very 'bed head' looking to me. Do you ever run a brush through a wig that looks too messy in back? If it's synthetic fibers with built in memory for the style, would it bounce back but not look like that? I say this because I've seen a couple unbox in videos where the wig is shaken, then a brush is pretty agressively run through it. Maybe there's a video where you've covered this.

Clara: Beautiful Denise

Deb: Upon unboxing, do you scrunch the wig after you wet it?

Patty Carosi: So cute Denise!

cc: Denise, u, looook great!!!!. U looook great in anything!!!!

Bonnie Bailey: She reminds me a bit of Turn

Elissa Edwards: How does she compare to Turn?
