So today we're going to check out a new style by ellen villa and their moddix collection. Now this is so far the only style in this collection that has been released as of today's date in the united states. So you'll have to remember that ellen villa is a wig maker out of germany and a lot of times. Their european market is just as big or bigger than the united states market, and you will see certain styles only available in the european markets. This particular one might have been available in the european markets longer than the united states, but this one was just released again. The only style in that collection so far we're going to check it out ellen villa, so i have seen quite an evolution in ellen villa style, since i've started to wear wigs when i first started to wear wigs, i purchased the ellen villa sky and the jamilla, Which is now jamila plus, which is a really tight, curly style um. Those were just ellen villa wigs, there weren't any other collections, and then they came out with the peruki collection, which was more uh fashion, forward, designs and bold colors, and that kind of thing boy were those cute too um, and then they came out with many other Collections too, the part of me collection, which is one that i have reviewed recently, was the a claw style, really uh, very natural, looking with a lot of upgraded monofilament features and so forth. The changes, collection, um the elements, collection which are more affordable, and now this moddix collection, so i'm not quite sure what to make of all the collections. But i know that each one of those collections sort of have a niche and in this particular one i read that the moddix collection or modix collection. I think it's monax collection, just really casual fun, trendy style designs. They have a lot of flexibility and versatility. So we're gon na see if they were right again. This is anda. Now the color on anda is called cream blonde shaded creme blonde shaded is a new color um offer. I have not seen this color on any other style, and i have a feeling that some of these colors might be recycled and renamed um, depending on the collection that it that it's in now. One thing you want to know is that this cap is going to fit more like the legacy ellen villa, which is more average to petite average. So this one should fit me wonderfully. I really gravitated towards ellen villa in the beginning of my wig journey. For two reasons, the first one was the fit. I really needed to find a collection or a brand that catered to that petite, average circumference and ellen villa was it all of ellen villa's legacy styles, meaning styles that had been around for a while? Typically, have that and uh half to 22 inch sweet spot, i'm 21 and a quarter inch circumference, and i can typically make an amazing adjustment that fits me very, very well now a lot of times. What you'll see, then, is that brands will come out with large, featuring large, larger caps and they actually identify them as being large, but with ellen villa i've, seen a migration in their sizing. That is a little confusing, so uh their changes, collection, which is the most recent one that i can remember. They started to make the caps a little bit bigger, maybe a little bit closer to average than that petite average um and then in the part of me collection, the ones i've explored. Let'S see i explored the eclaw and the esprit both of them had caps that very, very large on me. Ellen villa does have something for everyone, and, unfortunately i don't think there's a way to know what exactly their average size is, because it can say average, but it is. Is it is that that is it that average that comes out of the changes collection? That'S a bit large or the part of me collection that runs a bit large or is it an average that comes out of the legacy collection that fits more petite, there's just no way to know. So that's that's a little bit of a complaint. I guess i would have then there's this little monster that creeps out and says gotcha when you encounter a little bit of a variance, so i could purchase the same exact style and color and the same collection and everything, and it could be a little bit different In terms of sizing, so that's also an issue so without further ado, let's unpack our honda style, okay, so this is the new box. What i have noticed here is that the box is more slender in profile a lot of times. Those ellen villa boxes are really substantial and they weigh a lot which i can imagine would cost a lot to ship. This one is just more of a slim profile in design. Okay, i did open the box and look in here, but i have not removed the wig yet um and what i have noticed is that there's none of the additional cardboard flaps and things that you would see on some of the ellen villas uh collections from before. Okay, so there's the box and you'll notice that right away that there's no net this come this particular style came inside out and was secured by some bobby pins there on this cardboard form: okay. Otherwise, it's a it's a substantial enough box to protect the wig in the shipping process um, but this is exactly how it it's come right in the box. So, let's take it out here, um still a little bit of a an insert here how to care for the wig and so forth. Now this one is a regular fiber um, just a non-heat friendly synthetic by ellen villa okay, all right. Let'S take a look at this little insert here: some care instructions, basically in several different languages. So that's what this is. I thought it might tell us a little more about this collection, but not in that insert okay. So i'm going to remove this tag just because it is really useless to me, while i unbox and apply the style. Okay, that's a little different. It looks like a little silicon tag there. Instead of your traditional paper type tags. This is kind of a translucent silicone material, 100 mod acrylic, not heat friendly, and then this little lot tag here as well. Now i think that once i decide i'm keeping this, i would remove it because it's a little bit long and may escape the cap. If i leave it on there and again, just not very useful okay, so while i have it inside out still, let's take a look at this cap, let me look at it first, just to be sure, i'm capturing all of the detail here. Okay, yeah no surprises here. Really you have a temple to temple, lace, front, left, mono, part assembly here, meaning just all one monofilament lace unit and that monofilament part goes about halfway back to the crown and it does not extend back into the ear tab. Nor does it wrap around the seam, so we're gon na have to check the seam and how it appears from the front. Okay, um the knotting seems to be pretty fine on this one. We'Ll we'll check that out when we apply it. The monofilament grid is of medium size. It'S not a real soft material, but is very pliable. It doesn't uh seem to be smooth. It'S a little bit rough to the touch, but again just remarkable how pliable it is. It'S not stiff. Let'S put it that way, and then we have a nice velvet, ear, tab and ample wire stays in the ear tab. An extended felted nape with the velcro style adjusters looks like lots of wefting um, it's hard to say. If there's a whole lot of stretch here, it doesn't seem that there is, but we're going to put it on and see all right. So what i'm going to do is this i'm going to go ahead and apply it? I am going to describe the fit to you and and then perhaps remove it to make any adjustments, but i'm also going to remove it to show you how i wake the wig up and make it suitable for wear alright. So i'm not shaking or doing anything at this point, so this is literally how it looks right out of the box. Okay, i'm not doing anything. I just want to describe the fit right away. This fits amazing if you are petite or petite average wow. This is what i used to love about ellen villa, so, if you're, if you're out there and you have a larger circumference, oh or larger measurements, from ear to ear and front to back, you might struggle with this one. But if you are anywhere from petite to average, this is going to fit you beautifully. I don't think i have to make any adjustments to this whatsoever. I mean there is not there's not even a little bit of baggy cap anywhere on this and it just fits like a second skin and if you're out there and you're petite, you know what that feels like it's just completely wearable and makes all the difference in The world, because a lot of us petite, headed tribe here, we often just put up with things um that may not be comfortable or secure just because we understand that that you know we're a little bit outside of average. But this one fits very nice. Okay - and this is the style alright, so i am going to remove it and then go about wake up this wig. So the first thing i do is give it a lot of nice vigorous shakes now. This is obviously a curly style, more of a beach, a broken spiral, type beach wave. So i'm just going to get in there with my fingers and pull at the root just to wake it up. I can tell you that this is a nice, fine, fiber and low density, even though it may not appear so on camera, sometimes curly wigs appear to have more volume and density than they actually do, because the curls just give it more visual space. Okay, so we're going to go through this color too. I have a couple of theories on this color. Okay, i'll go ahead and reapply ear. Tabs lace front continue. I will continue to swirl around just to sort of again wake it up and give it some natural movement. I do the same thing at the lace front, especially if it seems to the fibers seem to be a little stiff, because typically each one of those fibers are hand knotted into that monofilament lace into that grid. And if you don't swirl around a little bit, they won't be able to move independently. So you definitely want to do that. Okay, wow! Okay! I can tell already this is my kind of style. It'S exactly why it's exactly why i ordered it, because i'm just a huge fan of curl on a short, not too short, but a short style wow. I am already. I already know i am going to love and enjoy this one. Okay, so right away, you see that i'm starting to train it. According to my taste and preference. Now you saw when it came right out of the box. There was just there's just no lift at all or contour at the front, so it's very easy to wear that flat against the forehead. If that is your preference again, my personal preference and taste is just to just train it to move up and away from the face showing off that beautiful lace front all right. Let'S take a look at that lace, front again, temple to temple and we were going to check out the seams - it's very hard for me to see in the camera, but this is done pretty well, don't you think i think, there's plenty of beautiful coverage there. Giving this a beautiful natural look from the front, they take the highlight right up through the root. I love that i think you guys do too. I mean not a thick banding effect just enough to soften the knotting at the lace front. So, let's hope that carries due to all of the rooted and darker colors on this style, all right. So before i get into the specs, i do want to cover this color or i will move on and forget. This is the cream blonde shaded. Now the other thing about ellen villa is that isn't always transparent is that they tell you the name of the color, but they don't list any color codes. And sometimes then, when you get the wig at home on the tag, you will actually see a color code and on this particular one, the color code was a 23 a 22 and a 26. right. So if you've been around the wig world enough um you sort of learn what what that translates to. In this case, i don't think it's accurate. Just i mean they can call it and name it encode. It, however, they want, but this is how it's a little bit different than what we're used to just generally. So, typically, you will see like a neutral satiny blonde around a 22 um like a natural light blonde, and then, when you start to get up into 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27, you get into the warm side of things. So that really becomes a warm yellow. Based or red-based blonde, as you get up so based on my experience, then i would say that 22 we're looking for that natural light natural blonde um. It could even be a really pale gold blonde. The 23 would be have a little bit more warmth and then the 26 we're really getting into that very warm, yellow, based gold. Blonde look! Okay! Now, looking at the description of this color, according to the manufacturer, they say the base. Color is a creamy white and then that's highlighted with some dark honey and some light honey. I i'm not seeing that. Okay, here's what i see i'm seeing that this base color is a really pale pale gold blonde, and it's so pale that it. You really can't see any warmth to it. It just it almost does look white and then in there you're going to see two shades of gold blonde one is kind of a baby gold blonde and then the other um more of an intense yellow, based gold blonde. Okay, so you can tell me what you think - and you see here so if you look at the description online and it says white and honey you're not really expecting all of this warmth. So you have to prepare yourself that that's what this is. It'S a warm light blonde and then all of that on a medium brown root. Now i say medium, but i actually think this root is done really well between a light and a medium. Sometimes, when you put that root next to a really pale gold blonde, it appears to be a little darker, but you can see just getting under this a little bit that it is a nice i'm saying even a light brown it isn't it isn't too gold in Color, it doesn't have a lot of brassy tones to it, i'm just calling it maybe a neutral brown, a light neutral brown on the shading all right. What do you think so far? I actually like a little bit of warmth, and this color reminds me a lot of two colors from before on some of the legacy uh ellen villa styles. They used to have a light honey rooted. I had that on the sky, and it looked just like this. It looked very, very, very warm with some intense gold highlights and things um. This also reminds me of the laguna blonde by jon renau, which you will see that that's a mixture of some really really gold blondes, as well as um, a warmer platinum blend on a light brown root. So this really reminds me a lot of that laguna. So we've done a thorough look at the color we've looked inside of the cap. I'Ve i've, given you my perspective. So far, let's talk about the uh, the dimensions, so the front of this is around six and a half inches. So, let's test that all right, so i'm not seeing that right off of the cap here. I think you've got a little bit of shorter fringe right directly at the front coming off of that lace front, and then it migrates into something. That'S probably about six and a half inches, so it does a beautiful job, framing the face, and then you're gon na have a nine inch crown and what they say is a nine inch nape, there's just no way that this is a 9 inch nape. I would say that that nape is probably 5 inches and overall you're, looking at about 12 between 11 and 12 inches. Overall, this just weighs about 2.6 ounces. It feels really lightweight on the head. A lot of that could have to do with how well this fits me when you have a really nice fitting wig style. It just feels like it weighs nothing, even if you have a little bit of substantial uh weight to it, so it really feels lightweight. I explained that these fibers are very, very fine, soft silky movable and the density on this isn't isn't too much. This actually has a really nice density to it. So this really gives me the opportunity to compare this to one of the uh older ellen villa styles. That remind me a lot of this, and that is the girl. Mono girl mono shares almost identical specs to this one lace front left part a six and a half inch fringe overall about 12 inches. I really feel like this. One is very comparable to that style. They could be almost identical. However, with the girl mono, two things i feel like are different: the girl mono has more side volume, a little heavier density, more side volume and the girl mono has a softer, more rounded curl effect. Okay, um, with the exception of the first one that i ever had it had a nice noodly separated beach wave curl to it. But that wasn't typical experience. As i found out when i explored another color, so permatease you're going to find some permatease around that monofilament. In the back heaviest here at the nape, some pillowy permatease at the nape uh, just an average tolerable amount on the temple area for sure, and then that's it. It'S not a heavy permatease style. I feel like from memory because i don't have the girl mono, but i feel like this one has maybe a little less permatease than the girl mono and again that little monster called the variance, can pop up and throw you for a surprise, because we can see Some variance in the amount of permatease per the style, so looking at the curl pattern on this one, then um, it is a nice broken spiral curl, but i feel like there's a lot of softer volume towards the bottom, with a rounder curl. So i think it's a mix of curl patterns, it's smooth on the crown until you get maybe a quarter of the way down, so that includes a smooth fringe, a smooth crown all the way around and then blossoming into something that's more voluminous on the side or On the sides and in the back, but again not too much here, where you don't necessarily want it, i, like a more sculpted, look around the temple and i like to be able to tuck a wig, and this one is very tuckable, lower, permatease and lower density. I think is giving me that, and if i remember correctly, it was a little more challenging to talk the girl mono. I really like this curl pattern. I think the combination of curls it is going to give you a little bit of an unstructured natural curl. Look as opposed to something more uniform, you watch me bring this right out of the box and get the look exactly how you see it here. I'M hoping this is your experience as well, but again i only have this one piece that i can show you all of these details, so we're just going to do some styling with this i'm going to show you kind of what the density is like, how it Moves and reacts to styling and hopefully inspire you to style your piece. So let's try with glasses the glasses, fit beautifully between the ear and the ear tab. So i'm i'm expecting that full-time glasses wearer will really not have any comfort or security issues wearing their glasses.
