Don't Forget To Live Your Extra Life.

Hi beautiful today we're watching some people use relaxers completely incorrectly and if you know anything about relaxers, it can be a disaster. Sometimes it's a very serious chemical that can really wreck your hair. So many people lose their hair from them. People love to not follow the directions of a relaxer and kind of just put it all over their head, mush it around, and that's when you see all of your hair fall out. Okay, so let's not do that and if you're not yet convinced that they're dangerous. You will be by the end of the video, let's check it out up. First, we have a video by lisa j styles, i'm partying, my hair, i'm doing it right now, literally, don't even have time to like really i'll talk to you. While i'm doing it. I guess all right she's already starting off on a bad note and we're like five seconds into the video she's, like i really don't have the time for this relaxer never mind making this video, but i'm gon na. Do it. I'M gon na make a video while doing the relax here sounds like a terrible idea. I must say so, i'm here for it yeah. I have no choice. I have no time to maintain. I have no time to manage it. I have no time to do anything to my hair. My hair is breaking off riddle. My hair is a mess. What she's saying her hair is already breaking off and brittle. Don'T do this? Second of all, how is a relaxer gon na help that it's gon na make it way worse kind of now? I'M always amazed. This is how i look most days. If you guys watching, don't know what a relaxer is. I don't know like everything about them. I'M not an expert in relaxers at all. I'Ve only done like a few of them in my entire life. Basically from my understanding, they are pretty much like a perm, so what a perm does is restructure your hair around those rods around the curly rods. This is restructuring your hair to go straight, so it's more of a cream form of a perm, but instead of making your hair curly, it makes it straight, but because it's breaking the disulfide bonds in the hair, it can be really really harmful to damaged hair. And you really shouldn't perform a perm on already damaged pre-lightened hair ever we're protecting the scalp, though i'll. Take that looking back. This is why i shouldn't have burned my hair: did you just see the ends of her hair and that is pre perm? Your hair is already falling out. What are we doing? I'M excited to get nervous at the same time, because my hair is so damaged right now i don't want to lose a lot of it. You'Re definitely going to lose some hair. I am calling it out. She is going to lose some hair. I don't know how much and to what extent, but i don't know why i just got like really overwhelmed. I'M excited, oh god. If i'm doing this wrong, keep your comments to yourself. Oh this application is a lot. Her ends. Look a little bit relaxed, but i watched a few videos today on how to actually do a relaxer properly and if you're doing a virgin relaxer application, you should really be doing the mids and ends first and then going back and kind of like bringing it up To the root, but not on the scalp, and also you really want to take perfect horizontal lines or else you're going to get uneven results. I refuse for my hair to take me back down the dark road hi um, we're here now. It is right on that. Scalp right on it that is going to burn. Don'T do that to yourself from what i've learned you want to get really really really close. The scalp like almost on it, but not on it, because it's really bad for your scalp and it's going to cause dryness and flakiness and itchiness, and it's going to irritate a lot. I'Ve got it all in my hair. I just want to feel my best self. So y'all do what y'all have to do to feel your best self. I want to feel better. I miss the confidence i had yeah. Let'S stop relaxer shaming, i'm not doing that today. I'M just shaming the bad application and the doing it on on damaged dry hair moments that i'm seeing today. But if somebody wants to relax their hair, their beautiful coily, curly hair, they can do it. Okay, it's up to that person for medium to normal hair. 15. 18 minutes, it's definitely had not been um 18 minutes, but i'm scared. So i want to go rinse it out. Okay, it's giving oh being processed hair. Oh i decided to do this um ph balance and conditioner. First, okay, now she's neutralizing, her hair, which is really gon na lock it all in and bring her hair back to a healthier state, a better ph level. Oh, no! No! No! No! Ah, now oh look at oh! It'S starting to fall out! Don'T do that! Oh, no, no! No! No! No! No! No! Oh! No! Oh dude! It just keeps coming out. I literally just wanted to feel better about myself. I just wanted to make sure i kept my hair done. I wanted to stop looking crazy in public. I just wanted to feel my best self. I didn't even leave it in the whole time and that's how life gon na do me. I feel so bad. She just wanted to feel better about herself and, like look cute and her hair fell out. I know how that feels. It'S happened to me before. Well, there's always wigs wigs can be so beautiful. You know even like a synthetic one, if you don't want to drop a bag on it like anything, but i feel so bad listen. You would look great with a shaved head and like a color or like blonde and shaved, come on. Let'S make it a look. Oh okay, let's not be so aggressive, though your hair's at a very, very fragile state. Right now, as we know pulling on, it, is just gon na make the problem worse. Let'S just let it dry get it at a healthier state. When hair is dry, it is much much stronger, so pulling it when it's wet and just relaxed. Let'S not do that. It'S actually like the worst thing. You can do. Oh shut up, that's a lot of hair. I don't think you're understanding how much hair that's everything! Oh, my god, what the hell is she going to do about this i've suffered for a year, y'all depressed you're, still beautiful, with or without your hair? Okay, don't let your hair change your beautiful outlook on life? Stop don't make me laugh! Oh it's not funny! I put it at a point. What is this so just gon na be rocking this like shirt on my head, i was gon na wait to post this until i came up with a solution, so i got my hair done so i came back looking wonderful, but let me just be real. I made a mistake. I honestly still don't feel like it was a perm. I really think something was on my hair. If you watch like while editing the videos, my hair, looks so damaged and like brittle and just like messed up lisa, it was the perm your hair could not handle that perm and um. Let'S only do that if your hair is extremely healthy um, i think you should go short. I think you should just get rid of the hair start brand new grow it out, maybe not permit and it'll be great. I mean you look beautiful anyways. So a little lace front moment when you feel like having long hair boom. That'S what we're doing, i'm so sorry that happened to you, though i feel for you. I really do this next. Video is by naturallyhumble so about a week ago, although i had already processed my hair up into a lighter color, because it was getting a little yellow from that moment, i haven't done anything today. You know i was just like you know, i'm going to just do it, i'm going to turn my hair refreshing up the color bleach, the color bleach, my hair and prime my hair. At the same time, and as i was doing my research, it wasn't a lot of good ideas. What the hell you bleached your hair today and now you're gon na permit the same damn day. That'S like the biggest number one! No, no ever do not do that. Ever ever ever ever ever - oh, my god, your hair is so compromised. Already you're gon na now put your perm solution on it and it's going to all fall out and also she was doing she did research on this and then she still went forward with it. Even though everybody was like that's a bad idea and there really wasn't a lot of videos or a lot of research, a lot of people were doing relaxers first and then the bleach, and then people were doing it bleach. Then the relaxer and it kind of just met at the same point. Some people were shorter. Some people was longer. Some people was just doing it this time, i'm just going to do it for myself. No, i honestly feel i would be okay. I bleached my hair today just to get a little bit of the orange roots and the black rose that i did have um. I didn't leave it on no more than 20 minutes just because i knew i was going to do the same day. Perm kind of thing now, since that had happened, i kind of waited about 2-3 hours, and i ended up buying this this. I believe this one is like for the longer hair, and then you also have one that has a short for short hair as well. I just chose this box because, whether it's short or long, it's pretty much going to do the same correct. Maybe i don't know, but this is why we gon na find out together. There are different kinds of relaxers that are more gentle and more intense. So definitely do your research before getting a relaxer. There are also, i believe, different ingredients in certain relaxers that can be a little bit safer to use on colored hair. However, i don't think they ever recommend using it on colored hair, like even doing a curly hair perm. I always stayed away from colored hair because you just don't know, what's gon na happen, you don't know. What'S underneath that brown hair, they might have colored it blue and then pink and then brown and not told you about it and then before you know it their hair's in the floor, if you're a hair stylist just stay away from like perming colored hair, it's just Never a good idea. I also got the hair wraps for your finger ways once you're done, you just wrap them up. I'M stressed i want to saturate my hair, like i mean my hairline, all of that i'm not playing, and i'm going to leave this in for at least like no more than five six minutes. I'M gon na put a whole timer on this thing. I'M so annoyed because her hair already looks cute. It looks so good. Why are we firming it guys? Like look? Ah, oh my god, i should have just took a picture before, but it's okay, oh today, is gon na be a lot of screaming. For me, i know we didn't protect that scalp before we just put all of that relaxer right on that scalp. Oh, my god, it is on her entire head. It is so not good to perm a hair, this short because you can't even avoid the scalp. Oh, my god. I really hope she just leaves it on for, like one minute like just give her like the tiniest bit of relaxing on that hair and then move on, because she goes beyond five minutes or even beyond, like two minutes. That hair is gon na drop to the floor, don't be aggressive with it, but it's relaxing y'all. I think i want to take it out right now. I don't even want to wait for five minutes. Okay, and also when you relax your hair, you want to keep it in the right position where you want it to lay like you just want to keep it in one place, don't touch it! Oh, my just seeing if my hair is being pulled out, i like to work it in man for real today's not the day. We work it in, don't work it in just rinse it out too much time has passed. Oh, my god, she's still working it in this is crazy. Like i haven't had a perm in years. Okay, i've been natural short whatever, because i've been through all the changes today is not the day, you're getting a perm. I have a feeling. This is all gon na go in two seconds, it's time to take it out. Horrible right, oh my god, but i'm not mad you're, not mad. I'Ve never been this low in my life, this is a lot of hair. That'S gone, i guess just finger waves, isn't for me or um yeah, go to a professional. Don'T be me, oh no! This is really bad. Don'T do the same thing, that's not worth it like! It really is. I have the guard on it because i still have this like blonde, so i still have hair. I just don't what i had i burned it off. The only thing i could do is just take care of it. She can't even use the clippers, because her hair is so mushy. She needs to like go with zero guard and just shave everything off. That'S the only way, we're removing all that damage. As i was cutting my hair, i was just basically realizing like wow. You know. I'Ve always been more so bald fade and didn't have a problem with it, but i also had a little bit more hair on the top of my hair than this time. What really shocked me was the simple fact that i had a lot of hair. I had a full head of hair. You guys, you guys seen this from the beginning and then boom patches out of nowhere like it's really really crazy, i'm so sorry, if this happened to you, i'm sure this does not feel good. That'S really tough! I feel for you. Oh that's heartbreaking. Sorry, i've always said i'm not gon na ever grow. My hair back and be involved is one of my greatest things. I'Ve ever done in my life. I trust the journey and i'm trusting the process and i'm here now and i'm ready just to pretty much take on what's next. For me, it was a reason behind all of this, but um as i kept shaving. I started noticing that i'm, like you know it's not too bad. It'S just like a bald face. That'S how i just pretty much got through this clip, which i just reminded myself, how it's so close to just having a ball fade. So in this clip here i was really kind of hesitating on recording and actually putting this clip into the video, because the back part was really like whoa, oh, my god, hair means so much to people. That'S why i love my job but, like i feel so bad yeah. I thought i was gon na come in here for some laughs today and i'm over here tearing up what the hell. So let me go ahead and jump right into it. Um i wanted to go ahead and go explain of why i got so emotional and why it hit me. In that moment she looks so good. She looks so good bald-headed. What really um hit me and had got me emotional, is the action of actually cutting my hair. I'Ve been in barber chairs for um, so long for almost six years, because that's how long i have cut my hair and um the action of me cutting my hair. I was like whoa. This is something different for me versus someone else standing over me cutting my hair, knowing where you know to blend cut whatever versus me, i'm just like i've. Never done that, and i've never thought i would be fully bald. You look great. I feel for you. Obviously you already know: let's never do that again. I don't think you need me to tell you that, relaxers and and bleach they hate each other. Okay, it's a relationship made in health. I am at a loss for words that was an emotional roller coaster. I was not expecting to tear up and feel just so bad for those two girls that that happened to. That is not a good feeling if anybody's watching this and you're thinking about perming your hair go to a professional that really knows perm as well. They can be really dangerous for your scalp and your hair, and if you don't want something like this to happen to you, don't try it at home. That'S my advice for today. Sarah Rideout: I know she’s upset that she ruined her hair but at least she has the head and face shape to pull off a bald hairstyle. Not everyone can do that.

Dominique Camara: Sidenote: even the pros used to tell us kids to wait for the relaxer to burn a bit. We were basically praised when we could take the burn longer because then we knew it was getting bone straight I don't miss those days

Nia: Just wanna let y’all know YOUR HAIR DOES NOT DETERMINE YOUR BEAUTY. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL WITH AND WITHOUT YOUR HAIR❤️❤️

Who's A Pretty Kitty?: I know exactly how the first girl feels. I straightened my hair every month for years because I hated my hair. I hated being in a predominantly Asian school with friends who would call my hair "cotton" or stick pencils in it and make fun of me because the pencils would lock on to my coily texture. Learning how to love your natural hair is a process, especially when you're not around a lot of people who look like you

LaToya Renee: I definitely understand what the first girl is going through. I hated being natural and crying over my hair. I’ve been so much more happier since I relaxed. My hair broke off so badly when I was natural. Now my hair actually looks and feels healthy.

Lorna T: When the first girl said "I just wanted to feel my best self . . . I want to feel better. I miss the confidence I had." -- Oh my goodness, it tugged at my heart. She was strong enough to speak what so many people feel. ❤

·〰Poofie~Baku〰·💘: I feel more sorry for the first girl - and I get why she wanted to do the relaxer. Caring for natural texture is much much much more intensive than caring for relaxed hair. I opted for relaxed for years for this reason. I didn't have to fight with so many tangles, my hair held moisture better and styles weren't a 2 hour process unless I wanted them to be. So I get why she went back to it without really stopping to think that her hair wasn't in the best shape. What sucks most though...is I'm certain a professional could have gotten her hair relaxed like she wanted so it wasn't impossible...just impossible at home in a rush

: Lisa isn’t new to hair, she knew the mistakes she’s made. She’s a new mom, dealt with depression, and wanted a change. She’ll bounce back, she can rock any style. Her channel used to be about hair first, now it’s lifestyle. She’ll be ok, her true supporters know this.

Gabby D.: I would love to see some relaxer success videos!! Relaxers were big back in the day due to a lot of societal stigma surrounding natural hair. I've been relaxed for YEARS, because I didn't want to big chop, and had a lot of ups and downs, and now my relaxed hair is thriving because I've learned how to take care of it. I'm around mid-back length, full hair, and most people don't think I'm relaxed until I tell them. Hairlicious is a YouTube QUEEN on relaxed hair care. I also love the diversity of videos you're showing!!

Loca J.Biggs: Brad mondo is literally the reason I read the instructions thoroughly for EVERYTHING!

Uhm I like noodles: This guy makes me wanna actually read instructions

Violet: she’s STUNNING with a bald head! ugh it’s so powerful to me to see a woman rock and own that!! that alone screams confidence!! both ladies are beautiful and like brad said i was expecting a laugh but this was emotional!! hair really means a lot to a girl but i think even mistakes can create a beautiful outcome!

Janae Hamilton-Osborne: Going natural was stressful but I’m glad I did it. Nothing wrong with a perm at all. They look gorgeous just not for me. I got so much damage and my scalp was always having problems. It takes more work to care for it but feels stronger

Dominique Camara: Not kidding my scalp started burning just watching this video and I haven't had a relaxer since I was like 12. I'm happy to have been natural for the past 20 years, but it's definitely not an easy journey! Relaxed hair can be much more manageable

Y: Don’t ever do this especially on damaged hair! Plus patch test people! Patch test ! I almost cried when she started talking about her doing this to feel better! Sis you are beautiful with those amazing facial features you can pull off any style! Plus there are certain products that react badly with perm and certain ones to use.

Vikomo Tembo: Hair is such a personal journey and no one should feel pressured to do one thing or the other. Relaxer was so normal when I was a kid and I honestly got burned a few times from people who didn't know what they were doing.  I went natural back in 2016 and it was also a journey (iykyk) . Decided to start my loc journey last year and I've never been happier with my hair.

Blobfish: If the first girl sees this - you would look SO GOOD with shaved/short hair! Rock it and feel amazing about yourself, I'm jealous of how gorgeous your face shape is and that you'd look amazing ❤️ Edit: (still watching haha) second girl, YOU LOOK AMAZING, I know you didn't want to shave it all off but it is SUCH a beautiful look on you ❤️❤️❤️

Sally Waites: I love it when people get all spiritual. "This hair wasn't for me." It would have been if you hadn't gone against all the advice and tried to relax it the same day you permed it.

Kimberly W: It's been over 20 years since I last relaxed my hair and I still remember the burns and scabs (I never had my hair fall out though) - never again. Those ladies are beautiful though no matter how much hair.

Kiwi Europa: The way I JUST BURST OUT LAUGHING BRADS REACTIONS BE HILARIOUS

A B: I think a shaved head is highly underrated! It's all about the confidence a woman exudes that makes it look great!

Kortnie Frohlich: While I was in quarantine I took out my room mates weave, what a process, and relaxed her hair. I was so nervous but knew I could do it so followed the directions to the letter & it turned out great (thank the hair Gods!)! It's like a 6-7 step process! I've got respect for all my ladies & gents out there dealing with weaves & relaxers!!

Avamaria: Funny thing is I did the exact same thing the second girl did. And I went to a professional! I was 17 and I wanted my hair Beyoncé blonde. She charged me 300+ dollars, she relaxed and dyed my hair in the same day. Get this, I have the DARKEST black hair and she had to lighten my hair like three times. She did the relaxer first then the dye. So relaxer, three lightening processes and a Permanent color put on in ONE FUCKING day! I lost so much hair I had burns and scabs all over my scalp and 13 years later I am suffering from the effects of that day on my scalp. I was young, uneducated and dumb. I trusted a “professional “ I’m was so traumatized that 13 years later I dare not dye my real hair lol

Lauren C: I used a relaxer in my hair WAY back then in my high school years because where I lived people made fun of my curls. But so happy that my natural curls have come back

Laura Dulwich: I love how respectful Brad is to everyone in his videos

Sarah🔥: I was taught to hate my natural hair and gotten it relaxed. Junior year of highschool I did a big chop and independently learned how to manage, I love my hair now ❤️

Pailin Grier: I've done quite a few things to my hair. I've relaxed it, colored it, even chopped it. I went natural back in 2017. This journey has been kinda hard because my mother and my sister have different hair textures than I do. I had to learn how to love my 4c hair. I suggest to anyone who is struggling with their hair, just learn how to love and take care of it. Wether long or short adore what you have.

Its Tia!: Oh both those ladies seem such lovely genuine girls man honestly my heart went out to both of them as hair really means so much to people but I think it's just part of their journey and a lesson learnt and they will have stunning hair in times to come! Thanks Brad hope you are well! love Tia ❤

Venny- 🔥𝐆𝐨 𝐓𝐨 𝐌𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥 [𝐋!𝐯𝐞]🔞: i remember having a relaxer from age 11-16 bc i was convinced my hair was extremely unmanageable. after going natural i’ve learned to love it & embrace the chaos that are my curlsi understand how they felt bc it’s rlly a societal thing & i hope whatever they end up w/ they love.

DarkeningFyre: Yes, be SUPER careful with relaxers. When I was 15 I used a relaxer on my medium-length hair and while it didn't fall out and did make it straighter than before, it still had some curly spots and it was super unhealthy. And by unhealthy I mean my hair did not grow for SIX YEARS. SIX. YEARS. Same length of hair and I never cut it. Stayed super unhealthy even when I stopped styling/coloring it. Keep in mind, my mom has hip-length, thick, healthy hair, so it wasn't genetics. It wasn't until 10 years later that it's finally started growing normally. Now it's down to my waist, but I will never use a relaxer again.

Alesha Daniels: My hair has never fell out from a relaxer and Ive been doing it seens I was like 11 by myself. The only relaxer I use is the "Olive Oil" one. It keeps your hair moisturized. The one the second girl used

Selina Russ: I have had relaxers for years. Once I was going through a depression where I literally kept my hair in the same pony tail/bun/knot thing for about two weeks. I combed it out to get a relaxer, and my hair fell out too. Not as bad as hers, probably because she did a virgin relaxer while i did a touch-up. There may be something to the state of her hair that caused it to break off... I learned from my mistake and never let it happen again. I just got a relaxer last week lol

L A: This one hit a little different. I feel terrible for them but so impressed at their outlook. I hope their hair grows back strong! They're beautiful!

Lisajstyles: Hey its me the first girl! I was natural 10 plus years..loved it..my youtube was actually a hair channel! I also did natural hair for a living...I only decided to relax my hair because since having my son I have no time to do my hair..literally not a moment to myself. I walked around with matted hair a year while suffering from post partum depression and I just wanted to relax my hair so it would be easier to manage and I could stop looking a mess..I have older girls, and I didn't want them to start to think it's ok to not take care of yourself. So this was my failed attempt at taking care of myself ..currently still wearing a scarf because I have no sitter while I go to a salon, hence the reason I attempted the relaxer myself..but thank you everyone for your kind words and thank you Brad..next step is chopping it all off like u guys recommended .❤❤

Darkhorse3211: I really feel for both of these young ladies and my heart goes out to them. I hope they know that they are absolutely STUNNING, but I do understand how hair helps make you feel good. It’s something we identify ourselves by.

Karrington Nicole ♡︎: Having extremely thick 4c hair myself I know it can be so hard to maintain you really just have to educate yourself about proper hair care in order to maintain healthy natural hair. My mom relaxed my hair as a kid and I kept on a little bit after high school but it’s really not worth it but I don’t relaxer shame either bc IK the struggle

Ashley Reid: That first girl had me kind of emotional, I understand. I relaxed my hair for 13 years because I just couldn't manage. Broke combs all the time. Started doing it myself at home due to covid & Brad is absolutely right, gotta do the research re the strengths of relaxers, understanding your hair and its unique needs. The result at home was pretty good surprisingly but finally last year I decided to go back to natural. It's been a difficult road and some days I dont feel as confident just like the first girl. Finding the right products is such a struggle. I am forever grateful for my mom, my friends and the brave girls out there who share tips and encouragement to others on their hair journey.

Whitney Girl: Ugh, when I worked at Sally’s, the amount of people who came in wanting to perm or relax their SUPER damaged hair was appalling. No matter what I told them, they were dead set on ruining their hair people need to understand how dangerous perms are!!

RealJWhitty: Oh man…. I feel Lisa’s pain! I relaxed my hair(for the last time) about 5 years ago. It broke off SO BAD at the very front. I had bangs that were an inch long after I did it and I couldn’t hide it. It was awful, but girl it grows back…. Don’t do it again.

V J: I love how the first girl handled it, classy. Took it in her stride. That second girl looks amazing too!

Jenn Wischer: The second gal definitely looked amazing and beautiful when she was talking about cutting her own hair. Sad she had to go through that but glad she rocked her look with confidence.

kobaltkween: When I had my hair relaxed, I had to blowdry and use a curling or flat iron on it. The exact same process I see YouTubers perform now on natural hair. But they get better, smoother results than I did. It seems to me that it could be best to master using heat on natural hair before compromising it with a relaxer.

megan mahoney: Lisa’s video spoke to my soul…. When you try to do something to make yourself feel better, and hair management easier:( I fried my hair of too (not via relaxer). Lisa you are gorgeous, you don’t need hair to be your beautiful self! Hair is an accessory not the statement piece ❤️❤️!

T'Cara Jenkins: Brad literally made me laugh so much in this video. From the facial expressions to his commentary.

Briana S: I can relate to this, it’s time to share a story lol. Last summer, I had recently decided I wanted to get a perm done. I knew that when doing a perm, comes damage, however, I did not know that with pre-lightened hair, that it would make the damage even worse. Anyway, I already had a color on top of my colored highlights that had grown out, and I wanted to have my natural hair, but even before that, my hair was bleached a second time, and it was a failed bayalage from a different stylist. My hair in its own state was already healthy in its own state, and the length was growing back nicely. But I still wanted the perm, but oh man was I in for a big surprise lol! Since my hair already had color underneath, the stylist went ahead and put the rods in, but I don’t think we had a consultation about what my hair has been through. I think if I did become a licsenced cosmetologist, the first thing I would do is care about the integrity of my client’s hair and put that first. I would never perform any type of chemical surface that would change the structure of the person’s hair, let alone then add a neutralizer and lay my head on the bowl while those bonds in the hair were changing from straight, to a wavy texture. The stylist and I did not consult prior to what I have done, but hey, $175 was already spent. After my hair she used the diffuser, my hair looked different. It was something I was not use to, but it got worse. After my first shower after 48 hours, my hair was falling out, in mini clumps. It was fried to the root, and I had to chop off five inches, and go rock my hair a bob style, something that brought me a major confidence boost. Over time, yes, hair grows out, and with various treatments, and cuts, and not using heat at all, I got it back to somewhat to a healthy state, but just with 4-5 inches of new hair growth, but less frizz, and just learning from this mistake. It happens, but that was a nightmare. My hair also turned copper orange, but I took responsibility for my mistake cause I wish I did my research lol, it happens in life. I thought I would share this crazy hair story since others are opening too, hope you know that you are beautiful and don’t let hair change your perspective on life on anything, take care beauties and good luck!! ❤️

Villanelle: I permed and bleached my hair on the same day back when I was a 20something. The results were exactly like these women. It’s a harsh lesson to learn.

Melissa_25: Aww I feel so sad for them. They took it pretty well, and I give them massive props for staying calm! Like Brad said “hair means a lot to people”

Epris Richardson: People never believe us when we would say we had a lot more hair before the relaxer. You can have relatively healthy relaxed hair, but most don't. Our hair thins out on the ends become super damage from straightening it in between touch ups. I feel so bad for the first girl.

Laydee Leshay: My mom relaxed my hair for years then as an adult I realized for the first time how pretty my natural hair actually was. I still remember all the scabs on my scalp from the burns

Donia Ecker: My husband straightened my hair after I had a front piece of my hair bleached and colored to blond from my natural dark brown. Let me tell you, it was such a sick feeling when it just started breaking off.

sammar odell: I have been struggling with my hair falling out for the last few years and recently it got really bad so I cut over half of it off. It has since got a lot better. Thank you for the reassurance that beauty is more than hair.

Gena G: I'm pretty sure the instructions for the relaxer say not to use it on bleached hair. I've ignored those instructions before and bleached my relaxed hair when I was younger. Fortunately for me, I was trying to bleach in blonde streaks so I only lost some of my hair. But it looked really good for the week I had hair. It's grown back since then. I still put relaxers in my hair. My last hair dresser taught me how and gave me tips before he left. I use bond builders the week before, the day of, and the week after then once a month and then deep moisturizing treatments once a week. Protect the scalp, protect the ends, stay moisturized.

Ariel Poupore: Can we just appreciate how absolutely fabulous Brad looks in every video!

Sharon-𝔽**СК МЕ - СНЕℂ𝕂 𝕄𝕐 Рℝ𝟘𝔽𝕀𝕃Е🔞: When the first girl said "I just wanted to feel my best self . . . I want to feel better. I miss the confidence I had." -- Oh my goodness, it tugged at my heart. She was strong enough to speak what so many people feel.

Azia Cunningham: This brought back flash backs for me no lie. I bought a walmart relaxer once and within 2 mins it started making my hair fall out it was scary. It made ALOT of hair fall out.

thegreenmanofnorwich: Relaxing, perming, lightening. Anything that changes the colour or structure of the hair. These are the things that I think it's worth spending spending money to go to a qualified, experienced hairdresser for, even if it's eye wateringly expensive.

calandra antonelli: I’ve been in situations, when I was getting relaxers, where my hair has fallen out by the clumps. It was soooo hard breaking. That’s why I’m so glad I’m natural these days and it’s braids, braids, braids. lol.

riissa: I relaxed my hair at my sisters apartment after growing it out for a year and a half. I did a good job and she helped me with it as well. First time doing it myself but I’m growing it out still lol

lilblacklamb: Oh this is scary! I had my hair relaxed once and my stylists was so careful and kept checking every few mins making sure it was going okay. It turned out amazing.....makes me miss my long hair alittle

Jennifer Pajor: I can’t even imagine doing DIY relaxer. I had a treatment done once. My hairdresser used me as a model so I had it done for free. It burned. And this was after not having washed my hair for a few days before. And it only sort of worked. But at least none of it fell out. I would never do it again.

CARAT Mom: The first girl needed a friend. The second girl-I don’t know what to say. Not relaxing on the same day as bleach or color is the number one rule of hair care before not getting your hair wet after a curly perm. I’m not sure what she was trying to prove. And the way she did it. She wanted to be bald. I honestly wanted to cry with both of them.

Morgan Earl: I've had a few relaxers over the years, but nothing within the last 5 or so years. I always left it to the professionals, specifically so my hair wouldn't fall out I'd say I feel sorry for these people, but then I'd be lying.

Artist Lee: I remember when I was younger, my mom tried relaxer in my hair. I’m the only one in my family with really curly hair and I think my mom wanted to try and do something to help make dealing with it easier. But once she used it, she noticed it damaged my hair so much and never used it again

Rachel Mazurek: Super excited that he knew that the reason perms and relaxers work is due to breaking and forming disulfide bonds. A+ biochemistry Brad!

Leslie Lucero: I love the content but I wanna take a few moments to point out how fabulous Brad looks!

coffinkid: Will you do a relaxer success video? Or a cool long natural hair styling video? Those would be great to react to!

emmathurman: to anyone wondering how excited brad gets when its time to do another fails video: 1:55 <3

Denise Robinson: I did relaxers so much in my life that I could do my own. I, however, decided to grow out my hair over 2 years ago, and have grown it all out. It's always very important to do things correctly, as they are harsh chemicals. I always deep conditioned my hair when I relaxed it.

Afros N Mimosas: The first video is exactly what happened to me when I was 15. I never got another relaxer. 19 years clean and sober from the creamy crack.

Krystin Grant: First one had me weeping. Listen as a WOC who had her hair relaxed starting at the age of 5 I'm glad I stopped I know it did harm to my scalp my goodness it took one bald spot I was over it.

Khalilah D.: I’m so grateful my parents never allowed me to relax my curly hair. I used to hate how hard it was to maintain my hair as a child but I love my hair now

CV: This reminds me of the time my sister relaxed her hair. First of all, she had no business using a relaxer. Her hair is like 2C. But she went and bought Just For Me relaxer. She did it and let me tell you, her hair broke off. She was so lucky it didn’t fall out completely. It broke off like a few inches from her scalp, so she was able to cut her hair into a cute pixie cut. I started laughing at her and told her, I wouldn’t even use that on my hair, and I’m the one with kinky-curly hair in the family. . But she’s always hated the slightest curl in her hair. I for one, learned to love my hair. Even if it can be difficult to deal with at times.

Turismo Histórico Carioquês- Amanda Andermann: I did relaxers when I was a teenager because my hair at the time was always in between straight and slighty wavy (I think it would be classified as a 1C but I'm not sure) and I wanted it straight (or 1B). But I ALWAYS had a professional do it and even then I remember they had to put some kind of cream in my top hairline otherwise it would sting like nobody's business. Gladly with time and no longer cutting my hair in layers (big mistake in my case because I have very fine hair), now all I need is a leave in cream (normally with coconut oil) after washing and I'm done. All good with my natural 1C hair.

Kibibi Joseph: I started getting a relaxer when I was 10 (my mom had really long healthy relaxed hair so she tried the same with me) Anyways it was all fun and games until I started getting chemical burns on my scalp when I got older. I stopped in my sophomore year of high school and to their day I still have scalp issues here and there

Kooei: i love how tactful you are with the "victims" also the leather shirt and jacket GIVE ME LIFE!

Maya Chelsie: I haven't had my hair relaxed in years and one of the main reasons is because I color my hair. Relaxers on top of color or vice versa is like...never a no go.

Riddle Harriet: I remember when I was young and I had minor bleached ends left from about a year or two before so I thought I could use texturiser (mild relaxer) on it, and it looked beautiful but all the pre-lightened hair just broke right off. I was lucky my hair was so long so it didn't bother me and I could cut it to the healthy hair.

Maggie Pie: I hate seeing people ruining their hair at home, but I love watching Brad reacting to it. I feel terrible for the ladies in this video, though.

Amandia: Watching your videos have taught me alot about my hair and how to take care of it what to do and what not to do plus anything i buy to go in my hair i read instructions and if its okay for my hair. Thank you so much Brad.

Tereza Herrmannová: Wow, can we talk about how young and cute and adorable Brad looks today? I love the outfit too! What a look all around

Emmicah: I hope those girls are able to reclaim some of their confidence back cuz that's so hard losing your hair like that. Damn, this made me tear up

Fanni Demeter: Literally love your style, looking great!

⚡️Harry Potter⚡️: Hey Brad! I discovered your about a year ago and you are amazing, and not to mention hilarious. You share amazing tips and tricks that are super helpful. I’m not sure if you’ve done this before but could you do a fire hair theme, like on a wig? Like an ombré of red orange and yellow, maybe even black? ❤️I’d love to see it, especially from you. Again, sorry if you’ve done this already ilysm

Jada Alliyah: i remember having a relaxer from age 11-16 bc i was convinced my hair was extremely unmanageable. after going natural i’ve learned to love it & embrace the chaos that are my curlsi understand how they felt bc it’s rlly a societal thing & i hope whatever they end up w/ they love.

Jazmine: 4:05 I laughed because Brad seemed a little too excited when he realized it was falling out. I think he secretly developed a "hair falling out" kink from doing these videos over the years

Hannah Banana: Both girls have beautiful faces and can pull off the bald look! ❤️ I’ve lost all my hair from treatment and I looks absolutely ridiculous.. like a peach fuzzed ball sack… did I love it? Hell yeah!

Jasmine Bennett: It’s hard to let go of your hair but shaving my head was the best thing for me. I cried through it and I wore turbans for months until I could style it and now 6 months later my hair is curly and healthy. I don’t think a good silk press would’ve been the solution instead of a relaxer

Naturally Humble: Lesson learned. Thank you so much for the honest feedback. Also thank you so much for the compliment.

Tigerlilly'sBookCorner: And this is why I will never relax my hair at home by myself. Go to a salon! Edit: NEVER colour your hair the same day after relaxing it. You can do it but leave at least a week between the two. Personally I’d leave two or three weeks between. Also brad needs to see the video of the girl who relaxed her hair twice in one day because his jaw would drop

Valarie: The fact that you were crying along with these women is so very sweet and compassionate. ♥ I wasn't emotionally prepared for this video.

Bethany Rachel: I have Alopecia, had it since I was 9 (now 25) and do feel for them because it’s such an emotional change when your hair falls out, I remember my mom having to shave the remains of my hair and it’s so profound that people really don’t understand the emotional side of hair loss. It’s more than ‘just hair’ it’s part of your identity! Xxx

Brandi Epperson: Your reactions during this video are by far my favorite.

Jamie Herrera: Brad your hair looks so beautiful today!! You're glowing

Veda Wynter: Watching these videos without Brad's reactions would just be heartbreaking Thank goodness he lightens the mood with his screams

Andie Wolf: Ok but let's talk about how beautiful brads makeup is in this video omg

astoldbyteviaa: I remember when I was 15 and I boxed dyed my hair copper. I then went swimming and later relaxed it using super strength relaxer‍♀️ my hair is very thin, I shouldn't have used such a strong product. Obviously my hair fell out but I wasn't as had as these girls. I went from mid back to a little shorter than shoulder length. I've been natural almost 8 years now.

Nađa Radojević: I LOVE how he calls us beautiful, but we all are laying in bed with messy hair and with chips in our hands

Amber James: I'm stressed too Brad. So thankful I learned to love my natural hair.

Temily Badilla Serrano: Brad, you look amazing as always. Love your style

peepla7: The neutralizer doesn't lock in the "straight", the neutralizer simply neutralizes the action of the chemicals that straightened the hair in other words, if you rinse the hair and don't neutralize it the LYE keeps going and melting and destroying the hair. The short version: the neutralizer deactivates the lye.
