ABOUT ME: Hi guys! My name is Alyona. I was born in Russia. I'm a musician. And I love art, makeup, fashion, style and beautiful environments. I love playing with makeup and fashion, but at the same time, I’m quite a minimalistic person. I don't like the idea of being fixated on the body too much. I have an alternative and unconventional viewpoint on beauty, the body types and face shapes. I love helping other women find their "it" and finally discover their beauty and boost their confidence.

I have several series on my channel that you might be interested in such as: Body Types, Contouring, Makeup History and Makeup Transformations. Also some random beauty hacks about skin care, hair, nails and beauty in general.

Today'S question I picked up is by Emma and she's asking what shade of blonde is best for fair olive skin? Does such shade exist? First of all, for somebody who is interested about blonde shades and what they do to your skintone and just in general, would you look good with one here you can watch this video, I'm gon na leave the link down below I'm talking about olive skin in there. The only thing that I would not recommend for any type of olive skin, whether you're darker or lighter, is a blonde with a lot of yellow or orange and brassy tones. If your blonde is bleached white, let's say or buttery white, with some ashen as edit in there, it will look great if your blonde is very close to your skin color, especially if your skin color is slightly darker and it's olive. So if it's slightly darker, so it contains some orange tone and it contains some greenish gray stone those yellow or brassy tones, they kind of start speaking with the yellow or orange apart areas of her skin. So it kind of cancels itself. So when we look at her, we see similarities, we see some beige tones in the hair, some orange tones in the hair, or we can see some orange tones in her skin and then what's left and some greenish tips or ashen s is added to her skin. So she starts looking slightly grayish and slightly dull and kind of lifeless, normally women with light olive skin tone they can feel like they have pretty lifeless and very pale face which doesn't have that natural blush. So here we talk about the brightness of the hair. Okay, so if the hair is pale, if it's blonde and pale and if it's a she two things Ashley and pale pale, meaning still yellowish, but the yellow should not be bright if the yellow and if the orange color is very brassy and very bright and pretty Intense this is when she can have that greenish Ness of graciousness come out. She feels like she's very pale and she's, even bluish slightly, but as soon as she makes her hair slightly lighter, I would say, probably paler paler blonde and slightly ashy, then normally that things goes away and then it becomes a harmony. This is why I think olive-skinned it considers to be on a cooler site, because they look amazing with slightly ashy hair, as opposed to super warm super super warm. However, there is one interesting thing. I think that women with olive skin tone, even if it's slider they look pretty interesting with strawberry blondes and strawberry blonde, is a blonde with exaggerated, pink color in it. So it doesn't look as orange as brassy and s warm, and this is why I think, because if it's orange e with added some blueish tones to that, so they become slightly pinkish so that pinkish color. I think that looks pretty cool on them. I find it pretty interesting because pink color and that greenish nose in their skin like pink and green, they kind of opposite they against each other. On that color wheel, they have to create that such of a contrast, each one of them, will pop more and women with olive skin. They have some green undertones, so in theory that green will pop more. But for some reason I like it - I don't know it does give that their artificial effect. But if you want to go for their look and the rest is speaking kind of with it, then it's gon na be very beautiful. I think, even though some greenish Ness of the face might show off, but the coolness of the strawberry blonde will balance it. Thank you so much for watching guys and I'll see you in the next one bye.

Di :3: Woooah! Who said Pale olive skin? I mean, me? You are on point Aly. Any yellow/orange tones are the worst for light olive skin.

Iza: We need more videos about fear and warm olive skin in the world, also olive tones can be cool and warm, im a very warm green person:))

ShihTzu Mom: OMG! Finally someone who truly understands what "olive skin" is! I have been preaching to every dept store makeup artist I meet about the difference between "olive skin" (cool, cool/neutral, neutral) vs "tan" skin (which is usually "neutral/warm, or "warm" -- as in caramel or honey toned") and how tan is NOT really "olive". It falls on deaf ears, even though I am olive and cool/neutral! lol They always want to put yellow toned foundation on me, and it is always many shades too dar,k. I try to explain how I usually need a fair to light foundation, and about as "putty beige" as they can find --- and of course once they test the foundation I pick, they see I am right. Thank you for your videos! Your video on makeup for black & white photography actually landed me a gorgeous looking driver's license! You are so talented!! As for this video, you are so right -- olive toned people look much better when the blonde they wear is cooler toned! I also find that a slight pink-mauve based blonde (pearl blonde with a double violet base) looks beautiful on fair and light olive skin tones. I can pull off ashy to neutral light blonde easily, but if I go a bit warmer -- I must faux tan to be able to pull it off! :)

Diana Grace: Perfect timing!! I'm gonna go blonde next week, and I'm olive. I tried blonde not long ago and I for the longest time thought that I had warm toned skin (because of the yellow overtone I think), and couldn't understand why the blonde that was a bit warm and not so pale made me look weird and washed out. I then realized that I'm actually olive and either +1 og +2 contrast, and that I look much better with lighter and ashier hair. Can't wait to try ashy blonde hair! Also, finding out that I'm olive on the cooler side, made me realize why I tend to go for cooler tones in clothes. I rarely go for warmer tones. It's awesome finding out about these things ☺️

Angel M: I'm also a very pale olive and for the longest time thought I was warm because of the yellow in my skin. However, once I started learning about skin seasons, I learned I'm actually a dark/deep winter, which means my skin leans slightly cool!

Lilly Jacob: This is SO true. I discovered this through trial and error with all these hair colours and only yesterday discovered I'm a pale olive! Very true ladies, even the cool strawberry blonde

Momo: As far as I know, there isn’t just one Olive type. There are two: Olive cool and olive warm. Finding out which one you are can help you determine which shade of blonde to get :)

Gabriela S.: OMG I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO CONTEMPLATED! With this video I've just discovered myself as fair, olive skin! I always thought I was a warm side, but I look sickly pale on copper hair, for example. And yes, I do think my skin tone looks lifeless and very pale. GEEZ I'M SHOOK THANK YOU

Dalal Jaz: I totally agree, I dyed my hair buttery blond at a salon once and looked elegant and beautiful, decided to try more golden shade of blonde thinking it will suit my olive skin more but it completely washed my face and brought greenish grey tone to it. Also about the strawberry blonde and the idea that pink in the color cancels the un wanted tones in face, I dyed my hair red once and didnt like it so I used purple shampoo in it just to make it less red but it gave me a nice pastel pink shade and although it did look artificial like you said but it brought so much glow and life to my skin.

Ackbarfangirl: Thank you for explaining this so clearly. It matches my experience as a paler olive, probably from being a hapa who never goes outside. I never understood before how colors could sometimes clashe or pick up ones’ skin tone, but now I do! And I agree that olive is actually maybe more cool, or commonly cool, than warm—even though on most color guides, they default as warm toned. That green will out :S

Gabriela: I don’t know... I am olive and when I saw your color videos I figured out that I am in the 0 category of contrast. I have ashness but I feel that paler/brighter tones give me a weird look. If my hair is more “golden” I feel healthier with a bronzed look. Skin color is very complex

Heidi: I agree with all of this. I am a natural light olive skin with dark, warm blonde hair. If you put TOO much gold or orange, it's bad. My rule of thumb over the years has become to stick with ashy tones if I want to go very light blonde, and stick with subtle warmth or rose gold tones if I want to stay in the dark blonde range.

Sandra Pinto Urrutia: Very interesting! I'm little by little learning about color and paying attention. Thank you, Aly!

Brandi Davis: I have pale olive skin. I had dark red-violet balayage with my dark hair and it looked great. Any brassiness looks awful though.

Lauren Gonzalez: Color theory here is so spot on. I have fair olive skin and any color in a cool tone looks amazing except for the one and only warm choice I do which is a really bright copper red. The bright copper brings out the oliveness but it looks very intentional move. Great job!

sheeppusher: I have pale olive skin and I really liked having ginger hair and pastel red hair. Because red and green are complimentary colors they look amazing together. That's also why strawberry blond looks better than a yellowish blond, because it has those red undertones.

w33burd: I needed this video so much- it explains why I gravitate to the peachy/pink tones as a change to my usual icy platinum. Thanks, Aly.

sosilos: Olive is very very difficult... I have suuuuper duuper green, light to medium skin (seriously, the closest match are fenty's 145 mixed with 290 and it's still not enough green). There are also warm olives, cool ones and neutral ones. And that often changes with tan. It is very complicated to match it with other colours. It makes everything look orange and red and on the other end you look more green. But most pinks and reds looks great... And with blond hair... I would say if your skin is warm (yellowish) olive: blond with little yellow tones is good but if there is even a little hint of redness it will look orange. If you are cool (blueish) or neutral (balanced brown) olive: ashier tones are better. But overall it is probably easier to have darker hair. You dont have to care so much about changes of warmness of your skin with tan...

Estefania Boujon: Im a pale olive and I looked really ugly when my hair was blonde untill I bleached out to a pltinum blonde, the it looked GREAT! also pastel pink looks great on me

Debra Ray: Please do a make up tutorial on your look today! Your skin and eyes - well the whole look is stunning!! Tutorial please!!

Brianna Bruttomesso: I’m a natural dark blonde and I have pale olive skin- when you said avoid yellow/orange/brass I was like YASSSS. I hate when my highlights are not pale/white blonde.

Endless Night: I wonder if cool olive skin would work with green hair (different shades). Green is the easiest colour to screw, home-dyed it often looks terrible, but if done properly it can look amazing (like on Lorna Dane, very pretty imo). So I wonder whether olive and green are not going to undermine each other.

MC: Yes! I was blonde as a child and blonde at some points in my life and anytime I tried a medium, warmer blonde, it looked horrible. (I have light-medium cool olive skin.) Your explanation of needing a brighter and ashier color to brighten up an olive skin tone is so true. For me, the only things that do that are light and ashy or very dark and ashy. Everything else dulls my skin and makes me look sickly. Lol Very light Strawberry blonde has also strangely looked great on me, too which I never expected. This video is spot- on with my experience.

Mariana G.: Hi Aly :) I recently found I have pale-fair olive skin tone (I always thought I was neutral, my life was a lie ). Can you make videos about makeup, clothes and colour hair to this type?. I trust 100% in your analysis :) thanks it's a new perspective for me!

julijj: Thank youuuuu; I wear wigs regularly and I always found it interesting how my platinum ash blonde wig makes me look so good and full of life, and then my peach one turns me into a green corpse hahaha I’ve known for a while that I’m pale olive, but your explanation gave everything some sense! Please talk more about us, most people don’t even know pale olive is a thing and finding information is incredibly hard haha

feuer frei: I have olive toned skin and surprisingly platinum, and pearl blonde look amazing on me, even though they are generally not advised

Ravissant XXIV: thank you so much for this vid Aly!!! i hope you will make more videos about pale olive skin in the future!! xo

Amanda: I have very pale olive skin and my hair is a dark cool red, and I think it looks great, it also makes my green eyes pop. Thanks for talking about pale olive skin, it's hard to find information about it.

Maria Le: Dear, I appreciate the work and the time you put for us. Just wanted to say I'm on your channel for years and you're a talented special person. Ive been thinking recently about little black dresses for every occasion. I hope you see this and mention in some video. Спасибо дорогая!

Jillian: this is just the video I needed! Thanks! Question: I have naturally strawberry/golden blonde hair. Would a purple shampoo help to even out brassy tones to get more of an ashy look, without having to dye my hair?

Sarah Love: I love this. So I have been a lot of colors of blonde and recently branched out to brunette and hated it. So I did a color erase. Now that turned my hair red and orange with blonde yellow at the bottom and I LOVE IT with my skin tone! Wierd

Mel Z: Your videos are getting to spot on here. First the chin one, then this. It’s scaring me a bit as a notorious green ghost I know understand why I always gravitated towards strawberry blonde. But I haven’t had a hairdresser actually do it. It always ends up the same blond that looks brassy fast.

Ola Rafalo: Wow! I just realized this too! I have olive skin (i think) albeit pale... and the brassy looks so bad... but the strawberry blonde somehow works! Great info as always!

J: I’m a pale olive and totally agree. I’ve had brassy honey blonde and it just suite! I just dyed my hair strawberry blonde and it looks amazing

Candy1986: I’m so happy you are making videos again! Love your content ❤️

Ladynipchick2: Last comment particularly interesting for me, because I'm light olive, and have been colouring my hair strawberry pinkish goldish blonde for the last month - and it is kind of lovely. I was surprised because I just suddenly decided to do it! X

INFJcupcake: Aly your videos are unmatched. I needed this one, thank you!!!

MZROX: I think this might explain why I like cool, ashy, pink clothing as as a pale olive too?

xAkira X ಠ_ಠ: Great informational video as always Aly Can't wait for the right blonde shade for warm olive skin!

Brea O: I have light olive skin and I have to be careful when I'm going lighter. I love strawberry blondes and coppers work well too

Diana Alvarez: THANK YOU!!! Exactly!!! I look horrible with the wrong blonde and amazing with the correct one. Now I need my hairdresser to understand that NOT yellow or orange undertones for me PLEASEEEE!!!

Napkin God: Your eyes look really awesome with your lighter hair and tanned skin. Are you wearing contact lenses to change the colour of your eyes or is it due to the change in skin/hair colour? I notice personally that if I wear more solid black clothes/hair/eyeliner the yellow in my eyes shows through but otherwise they appear more greenish hazel. I know in my case it is more than likely the blue tones making the yellow stand out in comparison, but Aly's eyes appear to be a more light green colour in recent videos but more hazel in older videos sometimes almost a greyish dark blue.

daijaime: Yess! I remember someone asking for this topic on the last video I think, thank you Aly for listening

Alexandra: Interesting. I have pale olive skin and naturally quite yellow blond hair. I don’t think my genes are wrong though ‍♀️

cyril benavides: This is very helpful to me. Im filipino with pale olive skintone and greyish undertone contrary on most people here with warm undertone. I always seem to appear that I soak my body in water most of the time. Ash blond, grey and platinum blond seems to be the right fit for myself

Yuki NoShinku: thanks for the tips, i was super confused. i always loved red and purple-browny shades but they always make me look orange and lifeless at the same time.

Diana S: Ali, could you make a video about what kind of metal looks good on fair olive skin? I'm personally super pale and olive, and I really don't like gold on myself, silver is better but it could also be because I prefer cool tones so I may just perceive it as better lol. Maybe Rose gold metal, or white gold?

Angela Mastrodonato: If there is a good shade of blonde for pale olive skin, Aly Art will find it. But full disclosure, I’m just starting to watch this and my reaction is the best shade of blonde for Pale olive skin is brown.

Fer Zambonin: Ali que bueno sería poder leerte son subtítulos en español

CatsEyeCafe: can you do a video about ginger hair, and which face complexion suits which shade of red hair! thank you :)

Melanie: “Olive skin tends to be on the cooler side” lololololol I’m fair olive and my skin is so damn warm that neutral colors look pink on me. It ain’t easy being green. ‍♀️

Melissa Hays: Such great info. Thank you. I would love to see a video about how you currently color, cut and style your hair.

Kat: Hi aly can you please do a video on what hair colors suit people with olive skin tone? I’m thinking about going red but I’m not sure if ill look good with it. Also can you please explain warm vs cooler olive tones? Thank you your videos are so helpful I’ve learnt a lot

clod8: Colors also reflect off of light skin so if your hair is in the cool red range, the reflection on your greenish skin will be a more neutral tone.

1237: I know it might not be something you would be interested in making... but a video about tattoos for bodytypes would be cool! Although it's a realm completely of it's own it's still connected to fashion. It's quite alternative though

Jennifer.777: So I downloaded Face App to play with my hair and the blond color looked ok but then it gave me strawberry blonde with light highlights and that's the color I've been trying to get lol. Light olive skin is hard. If I don't have a tan I can look sickly and washed out. Any type of red looks amazing on me but I get tired of it after a while. Thanks for this video.

L I: Dear Aly, please do more videos on MEN body types! Surely I'm not the only one in your community to ask I understand that Kibbe hasn't done his system in depth for men as much as he did with women, but... we're interested in YOUR personal take on it!! Clothes for male types / bodytyping celebrities / anything else!

KALEIDO jess: This was so helpful I even got some ideas confirmed. ✨

Valeria Gonzales Leon: Heyyy could you pleeease do a video for darker olive skin about blonde hair, btw LOVE your content

mansarden.atelier: I dont think all pale olive skins are cool, they seemed to be pretty neutral with a hint of warmth or coolness to it. On me strawberry blond looked great, especially with my green eyes. Yellow and orange blond was the worst shade of blond, and I am on the warmer side (too warm colours wash me out, but cool colours make me look ill and grumpy, so desaturated warm colours works the best).

Olka Polka: You are SO right! I have fair olive and strawberry blonde looks good BUT brassy blonde looks horrible!

日光MEGA: i’m light medium olive and light cool hair suited me beautifully.

Sone Blink: Thank you for this videos, so helpful.

Jessica Orban: Makes sense why I was able to do the strawberry/coral pink even though I'm fair olive

Sophie Discover: What about dark hair colours for pale olive skin? In my case, my hair is natural chestnut brown and my skin is pale. I personally feel like there’s some greyish / greenish tones in my face I don’t like. My naturally thick chestnut almost black brows bring them out, so, to reduce them I shape my brows, then lighten them up with gentle bleach and then dye it with a bit lighter, chocolate-toned colour. I works perfectly for me. But what about my hair? I would like to go deep chocolate brown, with NO greenish tones (I clearly see them in my natural hair, and it’s make my skin look sick). Instead, I want a little bit pinkish undertone in the brown (because pink is opposite to green, so, it’s have to neutralize it in my skin), but I can’t find a picture with the tone I want, because they are whether too red or mahogany. What the hell should I do?

Adrianna: You're talking about cool olive women. Let's not forget warm olives exist too

Waterbaby Oxox: We want blonde for cool medium/ dark olive skin , yes this exists , please do video about it I’m about to go blonde but I don’t want to make a mistake

Redrose Lace: PLEASE DO MORE OLIVE IT IS SO HARD TO FIND WHAT SUITS IT PEOPLE SAY WE ARE WARM BUT HOW CAN WE BE WARM WHEN WARM COLOURS DONT SUIT US!

Salma Ahmed: Omg thank you so much! I needed this

Angie Wu: can you please do a video about the right blondes for ASIAN skin tones!

hot kebab: This is what i need thank you als!

Lil' pretzel: Omg, this is me I went blondish it doesnt look that good to me, now I colored again in the shade golden chestnut...this strawberry blond now looks interesting

Joni K: Pale olive skintone is a chameleon. Some people are cool olive in the winter and warmer in the summer. Or the skin looks cooler or warmer with different lighting. I feel like I fall in between cool and warm and look best in midtone shades that are not too saturated or too muted. I often have to mix foundation shades as they are too cool or too warm. Olive skin is complex, I would love to watch a series dedicated to this topic.

noodle cat: All of my friends think every hair color would suit me because they only see me with make up. In reality I have fair olive skin. I thought I had warm skin for the longest time but whenever I did sth that's recommend for warm tones I looked bad. Now I get why

Tyrese Lynn: This was informative. I’m not olive but I liked the video because the good expaniation

Sepideh Akhaveissy: I love your videos, you are very talented, please please make a video for older women 5o and up make ups do’s and don’t thank you

Cirilla: Can you make a video about the right blonde shade for peachy skin?

Shania: Hey Aly and everyone else! I have pale-medium olive skin tone (strong creamy, yellow tones) and medium green eyes with a ring of dark yellow around the pupil. What blonde would enhance this colouration the most and would bring out the green?

suma Kalai: Light Yellow..intense red...light blue color clothings and golden jewellery really compliments my skin tone but If I go A little warmer for my hair it makes me look weird and old...idk now WTH of a skin tone do I have I understand we Indians have brown skin but mine is light and has yellow and as well as looks pale at seasons

cristina: Her: the only thing i would not recommend is a blonde with a lot of yellow or brassy tones Me, a warm olive skin tone with dyed golden blonde hair: ️️

GI2011: I’ve been waiting for this video my whole life!!!

dark.demon .queen: I’m half Vietnamese half white and have always gravitated towards blonde! This is very helpful! Thank u

Emaan Serghini: Can you please please please make a video on the right clothing colors for olive skins? Thank you so much

Ygb 11: Thank you so much Aly!!!!

Kennedy Tisdel: Everybody is talking about cool/warm olive but at its baseline olive is neutral-- green is a mix of yellow and blue. Each person will have a different amount of both (which is deeper than the video could go into) and each individual must curate their look based on their unique ratio

G: Aly can you do a video for brown skin. I would love to try color very soon.

Kassie Alvarez: I’m olive skin toned and I really do not understand how olives are meant to dress. Despite having binged heaps of videos. I was told I’m warm all of my life and now I might be cool!?!? Wtf is going on

ИСКРА: Пойду перекрашиваться в клубничную блондинку)))

Natalie Gutierrez: Thank u so much I struggle with this problem and now I know

Tracy: Can you do a video on light olive with darker hair. What kind of red highlights or any highlights. I have dark brown with some gray. I want to cover the gray with a brown but I’m confused with the tone I should use. It used to turn reddish on my lengths but now that I’m grayish Mixed in I color it but I don’t want my hair one flat brown color. I heard neutral brown is best for olive skin but I would love your in put. Thank you

melacore87: Is there warm olive skin or not? Which colors match best with olive skin tone?

Susan Jonsson: I have some olive skintone but in makeup i look Great in warm stuff cause it counteract my greyness or ashyness

Window to Poland: Remember Christina Milian in early 00's? This combo looked DIVINE on her somehow

Shirley Anderson: Maybe think of the shade of an olive as opposed to tan or caramel coloured skin. The olive is cool and the caramel is warm. My skin is olive I have always thought...it's got yellow tones on the surface and a cool, blueish undertone. But even some professionals try to put me in orangey lipstick. It is very wrong. I suit berry or rosy coloured lippy best. The idea of red confuses me completely but I know I can wear some shades of dark red. If I were to try blonde, it would be a darkish ash blonde.

Learning. Growing. 🌱: I'm warm with an orange undertone. I have rosiness in my skin and can use a yellow or pink toned foundation. I can do silver or gold etc..

marian kiel: Your hair look a bit dry in this video. But you are as pretty as always. Love you

Binka O: But my skin is yellow green and super pale. I had a more greeny orange darker blonde before and it worked great with my skin

Sarah Sophia: im half middle eastern and half caucasian and have fair olive skin. omgosh this video was made just for me lol

Sophie Discover: What about brown/dark hair colours for cool olive skin?

kar12: thank god i wanna go blonde like Simple life paris and now i feel like i can lol
