I've got another split hair dye tutorial for you but this time I'm dying my hair half and half: top and underneath.

This video has been sponsored by L'oreal Paris and I have used their latest hair dye COLORISTA - if you didn't know I'm actually on the front of one of their boxes, shade Indigo! For this tutorial I have chosen to dye the top half Aqua and the underneath Indigo. Make sure you do a patch test 48 hours before using this product, all information is in the leaflet in the box.

You can purchase COLORISTA in Superdrug stores and online right here:

Hey finally, let my channel subscrib i'll my hair again this time, i'm doing another split hair tutorial. However, i'm looking at a different way, i'm going to do as of half that passed down, hair dye. Look so i'll section it into two sections a bit similar to this and then i'll do the bottom half in the l'oreal color easter indigo, which is my shade. If you didn't know much on the front of the box and then the top half, i am going to be doing the l'oreal color Easter aqua. So, as you can see, I've got freshly bleached roots. Now you can use the color II star, L'Oreal bleaching kit. It'S got everything you need in there to color your hair, get it a nice bright blonde. Before you apply the semi-permanent shades, you can apply the semi-permanent shades on top of you know, highlight or lighter hair. As you can see, you get a guide on the back of what it will look like. Obviously, the best results are if your hair is very clean and blond, so the Empire are obviously still a little bit colored from my period previous dye. However, I'm turning the aqua hair on top, so I'm hoping that this color is going to be very similar to this one already and just lend and then obviously the Indigo is a lot darker and that's going on the underneath. So let's get started, can we section in my hair with this tail comb, so I'm probably going to half and half it from my eye so literally just going to take that around now. You might need somebody to help you with this, so you get it straight. So I'm going to ask Robin if you can come check it so pretty pleased with how I've separated my hair into two sections and what I'm going to do is I'm going to start with the bottom section first and then I'll work on the top. So it's all sectioned off! So I'm going to take the color Easter shade inside the box. You'Ll find the dye some instructions and a very handy pair of gloves make sure you use the gloves because it can stay in your hands. It'S obviously there. So you don't really want to end up with personal hands, and the great thing about it is that they give you two gloves as well. Just in case you mess up for the first pair or needs change. Gloves are on got the dry. Now you might look like, but I like to use a bowl just so I've got all of the color in and it makes it go everywhere. So I'm going to start by sit in a diner Bowl. Look sorry. I also really like to use a brush to apply as well. You don't have to use if you can use your hand, I just find for desolate, because I'm doing that perhaps it's really hard you to get that line at the top and make sure the colors aren't mixed together. So, let's good side. So now I finished off. Applying the indigo shade, I'm quite happy with how my head's all covered, so I also need a clip to keep it out of the way. So now I'm going to take off the gloves and wash my mixing bowl ready to the next shade for the next shade. I'M applying is the a crocheted, so I'm going to get the contents out of the box again, you get instructions, the dye and some gloves something to put the gloves on and I'm going to put the dye in a mixing bowl again now, because I don't want To get any of this top hair once the indigo I'm just going to get a bit of a plastic bag, and I'm just gon na pin it in place just over the die just because I don't want to get any of the darker shade in top bit. Now, I'm just gon na use a hair grip, just gon na grip it in place. Now I might have a bit weird, but it's going to work right next, I'm going to take these top section. My hair down the brush is all clean now and I'm going to begin applying the aqua color, so I've just run out of the aqua hair size for the top of my hair. As you can see, I'm not complete, so you'll probably need two of them. If you're going to do this look or if you want to sue an all-over hair, so I've got another one here, I'm just going to top up my bowl. So that's it! The color has all been applied. Now, I'm pretty happy with the coverage. So I'm going to leave this plastic on just in case the top hair falls on it or something, and I'm going to leave it on for 20 minutes. So I'm back and I'm ready to wash it off. So all I'm going to do is I'm going to jump in the shower wash my hair try and get as much the color out as possible and then I'm going to wash it with some conditioner. So just go out the shower. I'M going to look at the results of my hair looks pretty good. Only thing is, I can see that I haven't washed it out properly, so I've just got an old, my as well an old Kali's, hair dye, and I'm just gon na go in over my scalp. Just as you can see, I've missed a bit well, there's like clumps of the hair dye. That'S still just going to go in a number of my ears and just make sure that all the dyes of my skin, that is the underneath and this is tops. As you can see, I've got split, hair, half and half so just going to brush through it. Now and then give it a bit of a blow dried see the finished results when I washed it out. I made sure I wash the bottom section first and then I took the top down and then I washed the top just because I didn't want any of the colors to kind of merge into each other because also fill up the dye on so made. You are washing it separately and that again, is why it's easy to do the darker color underneath because, if you think about having a dark color on top and the light underneath every time you wash your hair, that top shade is going to merge into the underneath. So it is best to do light on top and our company, just because you don't want the colors to change over time cool. So I'm just going to give my hair a quick blast and then I will show you the finish results. So now my head or dry, I can see the finish result and I'm pretty pleased with how it's turned out. The dye worked really well on my briefs and it actually matches the color on the ends of my hair perfectly. So it was a perfect shade to use to blend my old blue with the new blue and then the underneath, if you can see, is indigo and that came out really nicely. I love the two colors together. I just think it adds something else to your hair. Everybody looks different hair styles. It means that I can just have like a really fun. Half up half down, look with two different hair colors. So I'm just going to quickly do a half up half down bum now to see you can see the results with an actual hair style. Some heads not really doing anything right now and then, as you can see, I've got the bottom half indigo and the top up cloth. So I really really hope you enjoyed this new hair dye video. If you want to get your hands on color Easter by l'oreal, then you can do so at Superdrug it's available in some of those stores and also online. I will pop a link below if you're interested and you can shop the product straight away. Thank you all. So much for watching and if you have any questions then please just comment below and I will try and answer them all for you. If you'd like you to hear it, please give it a thumbs up, and I would love it if you can subscribe, because I have so many more hair dye tutorials coming soon and I know you're going to like them. Peace out,

Clara Knight: i can't get over how much your hair is in such an amazing condition considering you dye it so much! it looks so shiny and soft❤️

Britt K: While I absolutely love the idea, and your execution is pretty spot on, the coverage on this specific dye confirms why I don't use Colorista.

Life Unpolished: Thank you so much for this video! I have two dyes at home I was going to do this but got so scared I would ruin it. You have helped my anxiety and are making me so excited to do my own hair. Can't wait to do my hair this morning!!! Going to try these colourista dyes next in the future.

BB Mc: Great video! I always wondered how I could prevent mixing of dyes. Foil is not in my DIY capability tool bag. The baggie method looks effective and easy.

lexi utti: Love the colour and love how healthy your hair looked at the end! Just some advice though; next time you colour your hair make sure you take small sections so that you don't end up missing some hair. I can easily see some missed parts from the blue colour and thats most likely because you did bigger sections of hair, which allows the hair in between to "escape" and hide from the hair colour. You can also use foil strips to place on the bottom sections of hair in order to protect it from other colours. One other suggestion is to not pin up your coloured hair; using foils will allow all the hair to lay out evenly to oxidise properly. I took a few years of hair school so i know what I'm talking about. Best of luck to you!

Gem: I used to have my hair half purple half blue in 2013, but the opposite way round to what yours is, with purple at the top and blue underneath. Makes me miss it so much! Also in relation to what you said about the colours merging: it doesn't matter. They won't merge because you aren't giving them time to set.

Samantha Trujillo: After watching few of your videos I fell in love with your channel and you, yourself! I love content that you make and I love each of the videos so much! You deserve so much subscribers honestly! Keep doing what you love bc you are doing AMAZING!❤

Akuma-Chan Desu: Ooooh my God, this is my first time trying to do a style of dyed hair, instead of straight. I was gonna go for just a simple ombre, and a single streak of another color. But now I'm going to try this with it!!!!! So panicked, I'mma mess it up BIG time, but also so super psyched!!! It's tutorial super inspired me, I can't wait!

Allison Sparks: It looks really good for you coloring your own hair... btw it looks so soft and healthy, you're gorgeous.

Caitlin Cole-Irving: I wish I was brave enough to do these colours looks amazing

Anna Sophia Bönsch: how long does it last in previously dyed hair? - great video, thanks for teaching us!

Marvin M: The hairstyle/haircolor is very good and I love it ❤️.

Beverly: I'm a hair stylist and have a cosmetology license and I enjoy changing my hair up like you do and I just purchased the colorista bleach and your indigo shade to try out ..I normally use pravana and my last shade in the pravana was green it's almost completely pretty faded so thought I'd try colorista..I love watching your videos not just for the hair colors and hacks but the makeup as well ..I look forward to seeing more colors you like to try and your process and how they turn out ...and Keep doing you chic !!

shelby .olson: love your split hair looks the colors are so pretty together

Ashley Singh: Thank you so much for the guidance , I'm actually going to dye my hair in pink and purple

abbie taylor: This looks really nice!! Xx

0reo: Omg!!!!! I love your hair!!! How do you keep you hair so healthy and smooth looking?❤️

Ambs: How does your hair look so healthy..to say you dye it lots? Do you use any particular products to keep it healthy and in good condition?

Katrina Smith: The L'Oreal Colourista stays from between 3 to 10 washes, depending on the colour you choose. They are semi permanent colours, so will eventually wash out.

Elirien: Thanks so much for posting, my daughter wants to do this.

NewPhone WhoDis: it looks amazing!

Jh Bb: It looks great. I dyed my hair red and did the same thing. There were some blonde spots

Abi MSP: If you want a noticeable split, use two totally different colours. the ones you use in the video are quite similar, resulting in it looking like you have had a bad ombré or your dye has faded on the top section of your hair.

Olivia Zwicke: I have my hair half and half like this except I have my natural color on top. in the bottom I have blue fading to purple. I think your hair is so pretty and I love your videos

Asyaidil Birinci: *I love your hair. I think your hair is perfect*

Kiri Rodway: It might have been easier to do the top half before the bottom half but it still worked either way x

Jamie Lee: Awesome! I also want split hair :c you look lovely (:

Bubbly Emma: Love it! Which blue are you covering up? I love this shade xx

Alex Perez: the way you used the plastic bag and Bobby pin to protect the purple hair from getting dyed was SOO GENIUS ! I'm so keeping that in mind for next time I dye my hair xD

Lady Universe: Oh I like how you did this .. the blue is what I want to do but dark blue on top Edit I probably have done this to years ago your back of the hair was too faded and a lot of the bleach blonde came through you didn't cover it up good enough

baby !!!: I love the way you say aqua but ugh your hair looks so pretty I'm gonna buy that shade just because you're on the box

Leah Halling: How long is the color in your hair? I'm so obsessed with this right now!!!!

Emma Cutland: For all those comments on blonde spots. They aren't spots it's just where the light is on the hair LOLS I had a really good look and moved my screen around to make sure. Great hair tutorial! I have dyed my hair with conditioning semi-permanent hair dyes before but only one colour. I'm braving the DIY two colour hair and this vid really helps! Ty! Will post my hair laters x

Chloe McFarland: Your roots grow soooo fast!!! So lucky mine grow at ultimate snail pace

Cloe R. Taylor: I'm not sure why so many people say the best results come from clean hair?? It's actually pretty good to dye your hair unnatural colors when it's a couple days after you've washed it because the oils from your hair help the dye stick better.

Bridget Demastes: I really hope I can pull this off seems way easier then the ombre diys I've seen thank u!!! my hero

Tracy Knack: Love the colors together. I know you said darker color on bottom. But my daughter wants the darker color on top. She going with a darker purple on top with a Aqua color underneath. We will be bleaching her hair today. But not coloring it till tomorrow. So when we color it do we do what you did by using a plastic bag to separate it.

Cristina Mendivil: I was telling my hair stylist that I wanted to dye my hair half up and half down.. but I couldnt show any examples she said no at the moment because she didnt know how it was going to look like. and I stumble with this video like 2 days later and because I could show her how I wanted it I got it done

Janine: can you save the leftovers for future use? and for how long is it good?

Cheri Nuchell: that aqua is so patchy! except for that, the color combo and placement are fab, the the indigo ombre into your old color, just those blonde patches tho!

SpaceBabe12: I know a few people are bashing you in the comments but honest to God, it's so hard to dye your own hair perfectly with no help. You can't see the back of your head and angling the mirror while you do it is hard af. I think you did a swell job, considering. Plus you have awesome hair, it looks real healthy for someone who dyes it! :)

Poppy Lennon: How does your hair look so healthy ?? Looks great btw x

Carina Barros: Sophie could you activate subtitles in your video for other languages, like Portuguese? I love your videos❤❤❤❤

Kyra Myi: Omg , this is perfect

TheSilenceOfNature: hi, I've got a question about the colorista hairdye. I want to use it myself but I want it to be permanent and not have to apply it every week or so. So how long does the color stay bright? How often do you have to use it to make it bright again? My hair is black and red but I keep struggling with the right color of red so I wanted to try it out since I've seen it in the shops but I've always been afraid to try it for this reason.

Mordi W.: Beautiful.

Dana Begody: (00:52)..... lightening hair or bleaching hair is actually the complete opposite of coloring hair. Bleaching removes all pigments from hair strands and coloring adds pigment to the hair stand. Just fyi from a pro cosmetologist.
