Hey everyone. Thank you so much for being here today. My name is denise, i'm also known as heywig sister on instagram and facebook. Today, i'm here to bring you a wig review, i'm here to show you noriko elva in the color silverstone, this beautiful gray bob with bangs is something special and i can't wait to tell you all about her. Alva has been around for a little while now, but i remember when elva came out, everybody was crazy over this wig and it was hard to get because it was out of stock pretty quickly in a lot of colors, and i just remember in the facebook groups People talking about elva, saying how they you know, wanted it so bad, but it was out of stock, and so i'm really actually thrilled to be able to bring you this review and i have some tricks up my sleeve for a tip tuesday. That'S going to make this elva even better, so this is going to be sort of a two-parter today, we're just going to cover the wig i'm going to review her for you, i'm going to tell you all about her features. I'M going to show you this color inside and outside and then i'm going to film a tip tuesday, because i think this elva needs a little bit of work and i'm going to tell you what work. I think she needs as part of my overall assessment of this piece today and then i'm going to go. Do that work for you on video for a tip tuesday. So i can show you if you were to purchase a wig like this. How just a few simple tweaks can make all the difference on whether it's wearable for you or not. So let's talk about elva. First of all, here's the tag. So you can see this is elva by noriko in the color silverstone. You may have noticed that i've been doing a few more gray wigs lately. I have really made it a concerted effort this year to try to broaden the wigs that i bring you guys, color style, because i know so many people watch these and everybody's looking for something a little bit different. So i'm hoping that the variety i'll be able to cover uh will be helpful for you guys. This wig was donated to me by a wig sister a long time ago, months and months ago, and i just had a feeling: alva was going to serve a special purpose here on my channel, and so i was sort of holding on to her and now i Know exactly what purpose she's gon na serve so i'll cover that, but let's look at her from all sides: really beautiful natural movement, some very subtle, layering flattering layering, not a stack, not an eight line, just a very classic bob really really cute. I just want to say i really love noriko fibers noriko makes really amazing wigs their fibers are realistic and hearty so that they are actually a lot of times i'll hear people refer to noriko wigs as workhorse wigs. You get a lot of value for your money because of the way they make their fibers they just last and last and last. This piece is a basic cap. Wig again, basic caps are going to probably last longer, if you care for them than caps with features, because they don't have a lot of those delicate features to get wrecked, quite frankly, for lace to rip or to fray, or things like that. She is just stunning, and even though i think there are some issues with her that i'll cover, i think any issues that elva comes with are completely manageable and worth it to deal with for a style this cute. So let's uh, let's talk about that. So, first of all, elva, i'm noticing sorry i'm looking at my viewfinder and i'm noticing i'm at the top of my screen a lot. I don't think i have my camera set up quite right, so i apologize. If i go out of the screen every now and then, but hopefully you're still getting what you need so alva is a what i would consider a low to moderate density piece with minimal and appropriate permatease. I know one of the questions i get a lot is, does it have permatease? Is it poofy? You know? What'S the density, and so i would say that elva definitely has enough hair that she's got a beautiful style. You don't have to worry about seeing wefting, but the density is completely natural, not heavy, not too light the permatease that she does have is sort of right here and that's what gives her the shape. So you see how she's got some layers here to give this style just a really classic shape. It'S not really exactly a round bob. It'S just a very classic polished shape. The permatease on the sides here give it that shape. So it doesn't hang super flat. There'S very little, but some permatease all through in here. So when i touch it i can feel permatease, but it doesn't feel poofy or nasty at all and then i've got uh the barest amount of permatease up here at the crown. I think there's probably a little bit more here even than there is here and then i don't feel any permatease in the back, which gives it super natural movement in the back and helps it to hang really naturally. So i just have to say: if you are someone who looks for permatease, because you like to get your hair big and full. This doesn't have a lot of it. You'Re going to get a little bit of volume, you're not going to get a ton of volume, but i do think because the combination of the permatease it does have - and maybe some judicious product use like tressallure wig, wax or some kind of a spray that gives Some volume you might be able to get some volume, but you're not going to get really big hair on the flip side. If you get overwhelmed with hair and you feel like anything with permatease, just really is too much for you. I would say pause that pause on that thought, a little bit and and potentially consider this one. If you really like the style, because i think it needs the permatease that it has without this permatease, it's going to lay super flat and it's actually kind of not look very good. It'S going to kind of look like a deflated. I don't know a deflated pillow or something so i think it's really got the perfect amount of permatease. That said, because this is a basic cap, wig um, sometimes with basic cap wigs, you run the risk of seeing visible permatease at the top here like where a part would be alva has quite a bit of visible permatease. I'M going to show this to you and then i'm going to briefly talk about how i'm going to deal with that in my tip tuesday. So right up in here, can you see that right in there that kind of nasty permatease now this is not uncommon. With a basic cap wig, it is why some people don't like basic cap, wigs or or stay away from them. There are ways to deal with this, though the first thing i would recommend is, if you can wear rooted, colors get a rooted color across the board. In my experience, anytime, i've had a basic cap wig that has rooting. The permatease is either very minimally visible or not visible at all, and so i believe part of the downfall of this one and why it's so visible is there is no rooting. So if you get a rooted wig, that is going to be one step toward handling that permatease. I am planning to add fibers to this wig hair fibers, that people will use to disguise, maybe their thinning hair, to show you how adding a little bit of hair fibers and a little bit of a contrasting color can help that. So that's going to be in the tip tuesday i'll show you how to hide permatease. The other thing that elva i've noticed is these bangs they're very long and they they're making it really hard for me to comfortably wear her because they're in my eyes, that is really common in a wig with bangs and i think the reason they do that is So the most, the widest variety of people can wear the wig if they cut the bangs too short, then on some people the bangs are too short, so they leave them a little longer, and so, if you're, someone like, i have um, i'm forgetting now. My measurement here, it's in the description - i just can't remember it, but if your measurement is similar to mine, just know that you're going to have to take a little bit of a scissors and just trim up i'll get close. You can see just trim up these pieces super easy even for someone who doesn't have experience cutting wigs. That is a trim. I know that you can do because the templates already built for you, you just go super super slow, and i will show that in my tip tuesday as well, i plan to do um hide this trim, the bangs and then the last thing is. I do think that the front here is just a little bit needs just a little bit of something a little bit of life. A little bit of lift these bangs could use just a little bit of lift too. So i'm going to show you how you can take a hot air brush a round brush a hot air brush like a curling iron but a brush, and you even with regular synthetic and if you just do a little water and a few passes with the brush On this top layer, how you can get a little bit of volume, a little bit of lift and just kind of pick up that fiber just a little bit. So those are some of the things i'm going to do in the tip tuesday they're. The things that i personally think elva needs to make her perfect. You, though, may not find the same. You may have a longer measurement, so those bangs may be perfect for you. You may buy a rooted color and you can't see that visible permatease with the rooted color, i'm guessing, or at least not as much, and so you might not need to do anything there either. So lots of um things that are subjective right where wig wearing is such a subjective journey and we we just have to learn all we can and then become comfortable making wigs work. For us. This is the cap. So it's a basic cap. You'Ve got no special features. You'Ve got no soft, velvety ear tabs, but a lot of hair sewn into those ear tabs, which gives really good coverage, which i will show you guys when i put the wig back on not an extended nape and the pull adjusters pull adjusters are not my favorite Uh they're, my least favorite as a matter of fact, because i don't find that they stay very well uh with the tension on them all the time. Eventually, they just work their way back out if you've cinched them in what you do about. That is you take a needle and thread. You don't have to be able to sew to do this. You take a needle and thread, and you just once you get it adjusted where you want it. You just put a little stitch where you kind of stitch this around the metal just kind of take that needle thread just a couple of loops, tie it off and that will hold it in place for you and you can change it if you maybe didn't adjust It right or for some reason at some point you need it adjust it again. Sometimes these weight caps will stretch out over time, so you might need to adjust it in even more after wearing it for a while. You can cut that and re adjust it. So really easy and one of my tests of whether a wig has a lot of permatease and a lot of volume is sort of my squeeze test. So when i take the cap inside out - and i do this - you can see - this is not a heavy volume. Wig, it doesn't have a lot of proof. It is really quite frankly kind of a perfect for this style and um just the the length and everything i just don't think it's going to be terribly overwhelming for people. Let me put her back on for you guys and then i'll talk about fit so elva and then we'll do color. So color is coming all right. Elva noriko wigs for me personally, tend to run a little small. I find noriko wigs to fit me snug. Sometimes too snug. I also find there to be an extreme amount of variation in noriko wigs. I have had the privilege of trying many of the same style because of what i do with reviews. So i have tried multiple jacksons, multiple skies and it seems to me every single one of them fits me a little different. I have had a where i i've had a jackson that barely fit me. It was super uncomfortable and i could not wear it. It was so tight and then i had another jackson that fit me perfectly and i had no issues with it. So it is difficult, and i just want to tell you that if you get a noriko wig and you find that it's really snug on you, that does not mean that the next one that you get is going to be the same. I do think they run overall, a little smaller, so they're kind of average to average petite on occasion, and this one is fitting me snug, but not uncomfortably, so i have her all the way out, so i don't ever cinched in at all. I could not cinch this in at all, so i'm 22, i have a 22 inch circumference. If you are bigger than me uh, i'm i'd caution you. If you're used to wigs being snug on you and you're, maybe a 22 and a quarter, you might might be able to do this, but there really is hardly any stretch. I'M really not getting stretch in this one. So i would caution you if you're bigger than 22 inches in circumference now measurements are more than just circumference, and i get this all the time. I get messages from wake sisters. All the time saying my circumference is this: do you think x wig is going to fit me and i can't tell you whether or not it will now. I can tell you if it if i think that it won't fit a certain circumference, but if your circumference and the comet, if the combination of your circumference and the rest of your measurements is a certain thing, then that wig will fit you differently. So you could have the exact same circumference that i have and very different over the top of your head measurements. The wig is going to fit you differently and i'm very petite over the top of my head. I get a little bit of extra cap up here. So i have a little bit of room to grow in this section. If i had a little bit of bigger measurements here, but then the combination of those bigger measurements and circumference might then mean a 22-inch circumference is too snug. Does that make sense? I i you know it's all math and physics, and what you know these, these sciences that i didn't pay close enough attention to when i was in school, but it all kind of makes sense. It all works together. So, just just do your best and over time, you'll learn how this goes. The coverage i get, though, is amazing and noriko caps always give me amazing coverage. They come really really low here, so i don't get a lot of blending issues with noriko wigs at all. That and the combination of them sewing all that hair into the ear tabs. I just get phenomenal coverage with this one, and if i in this color is not a match for my bio hair at all, i wouldn't worry about showing it she can tuck. So, let's tuck her, these bangs are definitely going to need some help, and so i can't wait to do that tip tuesday and show you how you do that, but she's tuckable and super cute. You can tuck one side. You can tuck both sides. I could wear glasses with this one, because the ear tabs are just high enough that i get some clearance but they're low enough that they give me good coverage so glasses, tucking, all no problem whatsoever, and once i kind of figure out the length of these bangs For me, then they're not going to hang in my eyes. You can sort apart them a little bit to the side, so they're not a full bang, but there is no lace front. So you just have to be careful with that, because you don't want to be able to see that. So i do think that you know getting her bangs to lay more forward is probably better for this style all right. You guys. Let'S talk about color and then we'll get outside. I also want to tell you this is out of the box. This i've done nothing to her, but comb her out, and i kind of you know i got my hands in at the permatease a little bit and did this, which you've got to do with the wig with permatease, especially a basic cap wig, where you've got some Visible permatease, you want to lift it up and away from that cap. It just really wasn't enough to really disguise the visible permatease on this one. But anyway, let's talk about color silver stone. Look at that beautiful color! It'S a it's! A great salt and pepper heavy on the salt combination. You'Ve just got a really good blending of the white and then the dark with no rooting, it's so natural, and then they use a lot more of the light up here. So you've got a really good distribution of it. It gets a little bit darker on the ends which is so natural and then a little bit of the lighter up here, which is so flattering around the face. Noriko does a phenomenal job with their colors, their color blending and um distribution is some of the best out there. So i really really love this one and i love how realistic, so you always get a little bit of darker and even people of gray hair unless you've gone completely white. It'S like you, get all the kind of more salt up here and the darker colors are still down below, and so it really is just phenomenal fantastic. So, let's get outside so that you can see this color outside and i'll attack. A couple of pictures on the end, but i strongly encourage you if you have not subscribed to my channel. Please consider doing that, because i do a lot of tutorials and tips and tricks and um, and you won't want to miss my tip tuesday, using this wig. As an example of some of the little tweaks that i would need to do to make her my own, but how easy they really are to do. Let me know if you have any questions. I appreciate you so much being here watching my videos supporting my channel. I have a list of ways you can support me below if you're feeling inclined to help uh, independent, wig, reviewer out and um otherwise just likes thumbs. Ups subscribes all really help my channel and then it does get recommended more in search all right. You guys, let's get outside all right. Everyone we're outside with silverstone by noriko on elva elva needs some help, obviously with the bangs and everything. But let's just take a look at the color. I'M gon na use her for a tutorial um to show how you can fix some of these things out of the box, but how to get that review filmed first. Look at that color! I really love this color for me. If it had just a little bit of rooting, which i'm gon na show how to do as part of my elva makeover, just fantastic, beautiful color, hopefully you're getting a good look. I know that when i'm looking at videos for color, i just want to stare at the color. I want to stare at the tones and just really have a good look. So that's what i'm trying to do? Okay, guys, hopefully that helped thanks for watching you

L S: Don't own Alva, but definitely love that Silver Stone shade. Makes your eyes pop. Gorgeous shade on you. I am working on finding a style in Silver Stone in the not too distant future. Looking forward to seeing your Tip Tuesday for Alva tomorrow. Thanks again for all your efforts.

Lisa Huff: I am so excited for tomorrow's Tuesday tips! I have Alva and really like her, but I can ALWAYS use some tips! TY Denise!

Shelly F: Thank you for this review. I have been very curious about Alva, and this was most helpful. I have a larger circumference (Estetica wigs usually fit me at their largest adjustment) so I think Noriko is pretty much off the table. But the style of Alva is very nice. I will be on the lookout for a similar style that will fit my larger than average circumference. Blessings and hugs! Shelly

Angie: You look beautiful in Alva in this color. This piece is such an amazing deal. I’ve got her in 2 colors & stumbled upon her by accident..what a great deal. I knew when I put her on it was going to be very popular & universally flattering. Thanks for this video! Angie

Lauren S. Levine: I must tell you that the color is absolutely stunning on you Denise! You really do look wonderful in many of these more casual style Strader wiggs.. I know that you personally prefer the wavy and curly styles. And I do get that, as I, too, feel more glam in a wavier style wig. I find that the problem on those wigs is to maintain the curl pattern after you've had to maintain the unit. Sometimes, just to get a break from those wigs, I like a very casual cute, on trend, straighter style wig for everyday! Of course, for date night, I still love my glamorous wavy styles. Sarah by Jon Renau, Oh, a straight or one that can be curly or straight would be Scene Stealer by Raquel Welch or Mesmerized. Some of my old time favorites are Miles of Style, or Longing for Long. All those great regular synthetics! Too bad they changed shaded biscuit to be so dark. Really too bad, they made so many heat de- fiant pieces (so difficult to maintain); they are sometimes just a pain to maintain. Though I look better in them, it's too much to take care of for every day.. That's the number one reason they have date night status. Do you think you could recommend a very on trend, flattering for an oval shaped face, straighter style wig? (about shoulder length) One that would fit a petite / average head? Thanks!

Sally Biondo: Hi Denise, I just ordered this wig in the Silver Stone, as it is pretty much my natural hair color. I plan on trimming the bangs and adding something to the top roots to make a little darker. Thanks so much for your tips & tricks video too. This was a great review and you look stunning in this wig and the color silver stone! Take care.

Patty Carosi: Very cute Denise I look forward to tip Tuesday. I do love Noriko wig's fibers they are beautiful they are a workhorse wig for sure plus as I have a small head and they do fit me great. Thank you for all your hard work!

jg heart: I'm looking forward to seeing how you trim the bangs as I just ordered Alva in sugar cane rooted tonight!

Lorraine Bulcraig: Really love you in this wig…I’ve been looking at the Alva for a long time, you’ve now convinced me. Thank you x

Front Porch Wig Chat: Alva is really cute on you and I love the Silverstone color.

sapat: Beautiful color. And with bangs, you wouldn't miss the lace. I like it because it's like my normal style. No one would think twice about it. A very different color for you, but you look great!

M Dison: Denise, love this style on you!

Denise Woodin: Always love your reviews Denise❤, I have Alva and love the wig.... little bit too much permatese for me really on the piece I have but love the style so I do wear her & make an effort to accept the little bit of poof

Kim Leftwich: Love this color and style on you, beautiful!

Kim Leftwich: Love this color and style on you. Beautiful!

Kimberley Frazier: This wig and color look fantastic on you!

10TOES: That’s a pretty color & prettier outside. I can’t wait till Tuesday!

Marilyn R: Love your videos. Excellent presentation. I have 22 circumference and most Noriko wigs are too tight for me but I have learnt to enlarge them by cutting the band near the adjuster straps. It’s really easy and means I’m not confined to wearing large cap only. Danielle from Godiva wigs does an excellent demo of making a wig bigger.

CJ Palmer: Wow, what a color, I've been thinking about trying her, looks great on you

Dorothy Lee: What a thrill to find a wig that will come close on the sides of my face. NO wig own does that. I will definitely check into Noriko wigs. Thank you so much.

Leeanne Barr: You look amazing in silver!!! I need some bangs in my collection...again! That is just darling on you!!!!!!!! Cant wait till tomorrow!!!

Donna Q: Extremely cute cut and I love the color on you. So great you can wear so many colors. I just wish it was not a basic cap, it looks too wiggy at the top, in my opinion. Once I had a lace front and lace part it is impossible to go backwards and wear a basic cap. Surely they can make this exact wig with a lace part and front in case you want to sweep the bangs????

Razzberriberet: I own Alva. She’s a rockstar. I love her

Clara: Looking forward to your video tomorrow Denise. I swear you can wear any wig

Jacki H: Holy moly! Silverstone looks so good on you!

Sandi Farley: I have this wig in this colors and she is definitely too "heavy" for my features.

Rita: How do you look good in everything gf??!! That color and style Wow!! Your eyes are on point!!!

mari A.: Love this color on you

Apple Pip: This colour is gorgeous, I love the style but it would probably be too tight on my 22.5in circumference.

Marybeth Caporelli: yes..trim up the bangs and brush the sides back then down and under away from the bangs to open up the face!!

Victoria Lang: You look great with Alva on! I look terrible

Jerry Scott: Great review

Patty Carosi: Denise I wanted to ask you about your eye make up it looks so pretty. Can you tell me all that you used maybe show us! Thank you

Colleen Masson: Wow wow wow...you look soooo good in this color and style

Kate Carr: Can’t wait for

Jan Yarra: That color is pretty on you.

Victoria Lang: Great video! You look great with Alva but mine is in moccaccino R and I look awful

Donna Blackiston: I love mine!

Marybeth Caporelli: I have 7 Alvas in 7 diff colors

jean hargis: Hi Denise I have the Rochelle wig from Godiva wigs. It is almost the same color.. I see a lot of permatease In the front as well as some of the wefting. I think putting a root color on it would help to hide that…any thoughts on that? I wish I could send you a pic so you could see.

Michelle Diekman: Lovely on you

Francine Leathers: Have you ever tried any wigs from godiva secret wigs?
