Hello, my beautiful hair, lounge community angelina here in the hair lounge today, i'm going to show you how to get those fun new trendy, peekaboo, highlights stay tuned and we'll get right into it. Let'S talk what you're going to need to achieve this look as always, i will link everything down below that way. It'S very easy for you to find. I am going to start with 30 volume developer. This is what is going to make your bleach work, so we need bleach today, i'm going to use the synchro lift by paul mitchell, and this will lift up to nine levels, also you're going to need foils, a tint bowl, a tint brush and probably some clips To hold the hair up all right, let's get into those peekaboo highlights for my mannequin. She wants her peekaboo to be on the underneath of her hair. Not everybody is gon na want their hair to look exactly the same way so be sure to determine how you're going to map it out before you start applying when she pulls her hair up. She does not want to see regrowth when that hair starts growing out. So she is going to keep highlights away from the perimeter of her hair, meaning this outside hair and she's, going to do it underneath and do panels on the underneath of her hair. But when her hair is down, she will see those lighter peekaboo pieces peeking through without the commitment since she's not doing highlights all over. All we are going to need with this is our synchro lift lifts up to nine levels, and this is paul mitchell bleach and we're just gon na do half of the scoop then, like i said, i'm gon na use 30 volume on her because she's fairly dark And she does have color on her hair, so we need to pull through that color. Not everybody is going to use 30 volume. You may only need to use 20 volume 30 volume. If you are using it on your scalp, you can fill itching so be sure you only stick with 20 volume if you're putting it on your scalp. Obviously, my mannequin is not a real human, so i can use 30 volume so just make sure you're using it. Based off of your hair type and how damaged your hair is, if you previously have bleach on your hair you're not going to want to put 30 volume on your end, you may want to do 10 volume, but, as always, i will link everything down below in The description box that way it's very easy for you to find and, as always, do not hesitate to send me a message or leave me a comment asking any questions that you may have, and i will guide you on the correct developer to use for your hair. As you can see, that's about the consistency i like so now, let's get to sectioning her hair. As i said, i'm going to leave the panel around her perimeter out and since we're not using any of this hair right now, we are just going to clip this up and out of the way we are going to angle, do her foils on an angle. The reason why is because, when this hair lays down you want it to lay naturally the way it falls out of the head, as you can see, all this hair is angled forward. So look at the natural way the hair grows to know the way you should be placing your foils when you're doing block coloring. You want to make sure your sectioning is fairly thin and you're saturating. It really well so make sure you can see through that hair before you put bleach on it, see nice and see-through. You can see my hand through it and now we're gon na go ahead and apply. Saturation is key. You want to make sure you are saturating. It very well meaning you're getting all the way through onto the bottom section of the hair in the foil, so i always saturate make sure you get those ends in there and then what i do is i take the tail end of my brush and i just Lift it up to make sure that it is all the way through that foil make sure you're really smushing it in through that hair. When i get up towards this top section, i always feather it up towards the scalp. That way, you don't have a really harsh line and then just fold those foils, i'm gon na. Take it down a little a little further into this section, again, still very thin, so you can see through it. We'Re going to just do one more foil, still double triple: checking to make sure that, though, that hair is not going to be seen through on this bottom section, which is why this will be our very last foil. So we have our three foils in there and i will tell you all this hair right here. You will see it when you pull your hair up or she's curling her hair, but if she wants to see any highlights whatsoever in the front section of her hair, we need to take some in front of her ear. So that's what we're gon na do now, as you can see, we're gon na follow that angle up still leaving out a thin veil of hair. That way, she's not going to see regrowth and same with this front section we're going to leave a thin veil of hair. So when she pulls her hair up you're not going to see that her hair has grown out or you're not going to see those highlights. They just peek through, hence the peekaboo highlights still following that angle of hair, keeping it very very thin in this front section we're only going to do two foils, because she wants it to mostly be on the underneath of her hair. That way, it's still able to hide if she wants to this is a great way to change your hair up just enough to give you something different without it being too dramatic, all right. That is our very last foil that we're doing and we are only keeping it on one side. Okay, i want to hop back on here and let you guys know the reason why i only did one side of her hair. Obviously it's personal preference, but she wants to be a little trendier. So if you've seen in all those little tick, tock videos where all the younger generation is only doing a fun fashion, color on one side, it's kind of that new trend of dual hair color. So dark on one side and a little lighter on the other. I will tell you in a later video, i'm going to show you how to use this peekaboo highlighting trend and putting a fashion color over the top of that bleached out hair. Again, it's all personal preference. You can match what you did on one side and do exactly the same thing on the opposite side that way it's balanced out, but my mannequin. She wanted to be a little fun and a little bit different. That'S why we only did the one side and hey now is a perfect time to go and hit that red subscribe button. I'M waiting go. Do it all right, you guys, thanks for all the support and, if you're liking. What you see today go ahead and give me a thumbs up too. That way. I know you like all this wonderful content, i'm putting out all right guys now, let's just let her process and i'll be back to show you the end results. Who is ready to see these peekaboo highlights here? She is so, as you can see, it's very soft, it's very subtle, but when her hair is curled, you can really see those highlights poking through. This is the stuff right in the front of the ear and then, when you pull her hair up, you can see the stuff right behind her ear still within the caramel family. Super soft, very subtle, but it goes along really well with her hair color and depending on where she parts her hair. So she wants to do a deeper part. You can see them a lot more and if she wants to just part her hair. The other way, you can't even see them just a little bit on the very bottom, but that's why we call those peekaboo highlights all right guys. I hope you enjoyed this video go ahead and hit that red subscribe button. If you have not already, and if you enjoy what you see, go ahead and give me a thumbs up, thanks for watching we'll see you guys all next time, bye, bye,

Rose Handelman: thanks for the awesome video! im the hair dyeing friend since ive been bleaching my own for over 3 years now (somehow its not a brassy yellow mess, but actually a nice platinum). i had a friend ask me about a secretive hair dyeing style so i looked into peekaboo highlights. your tutorial was perfect. i have a feeling it'll turn out great :)

Cheryl Stone: This is the best video ever !!! It’s oddly satisfying to see how precise you are folding the foils with the tail of your comb too!!!

M.Rachid. Lyaktini: I am a new fan from Morocco. I read about this technique and come here to see its practice. I am so happy because you make everything so clear. Thank you a lot.

Taneeka Mistry: this video was super useful and easy to understand so thank you so much! i was just wondering whether it was possible to achieve a similar result without bleach and using just 30 volume developer and a dark blonde hair dye. I know colour doesn't lift colour but as i have virgin hair i figured that the dye would be able to lighten it slightly as i want quite a subtle look as my hair is very dark and i worry that by using bleach it will go too light. or in order to achieve anything do i need to use bleach and then dye it after with a lighter brown colour?

Aishya476: Fantastic tutorial. Thank you so much!

The Artisan: Hello, thank you for this! It’s very helpful! I am going to try this! I’ve got about a level 8 ash blonde atm and was wondering what colour peekaboo highlights you would recommend that would compliment? I am going to try a 20 developer to lift and make a nice base first as its currently quite light already. I would like something bright like crazy colour but not sure what would suit an ashy tone? My skin is quite pink as well! Many thanks

Jeeze stop: Would you keep the same placement of foils (the ones behind the ear) to go all the way around the head? In the video you only did one side, so just carrying on the same technique throught the hair? In that situation would you leave hair in between foils?

Jessica Rose Causey: i love your video the best of the twenty plus i just watched! I'm looking for this type of highlighting but where it carries more throughout the back underside and with 2 or 3 colors. i dont think i want to bleach my entire underside like most do in their videos, because i want the contrast of my dark hair but i also dont think the super thick chunks ive seen are what i want. specifically i have aqua blue and purple in mind and i have dark brown hair....any additional tips you can offer on placement technique? I'm pretty sure I've lost my mind but quarantine has had me watching too many brad mondo and other hair videos lol. I figure you only live once so no better time to go big or go home than when quarantined at home lol

Tessy G: Hi great video, I would love to do this style for myself. I never use bleach before, I do have colored hair at a red level, so could please tell me what do I need and how long is it safe to leave the bleach on, thanks ahead for answering my question ❤️ I also left my thumbs up for this great video

XoChitl Buker: Hi! I am trying to dye my hair and I was wondering if I absolutely need foils or no?

Helen Zheng: Hey Angelina! I have virgin black hair and I'm planning on dying the underlayer of my hair red but since i don't want to use bleach first, i was planning on using the L'Oreal Excellence HiColor thing with 40 volume developer. However, all the videos I've seen about dying the underlayer is always done with bleaching and then a semi permanent dye so I'm just asking if it's okay to use a permanent dye for the underlayer since HiColor is a permanent dye.

aaaaaaaalolwtfaaa: thanks for the tutorial ♥️

Skyla Bryant: So my hair is now platinum and blonde from bleaching but my roots are starting to show which is very dark brown. Should I use 30 on my roots? And then should I rebleach the blonde or just tone it? And should I do my peekaboo before or after my bleach? my peekaboo will be red.

Shauna Klein: would people normally do the peekaboo look on the back section of the hair as well??

GottalovedemGMOS :D: Hi i have a question will any bleach work? Since i have just recently bought the wella tub bleach it lightens up to 7 levels, i have dark brown hair it looks a bit light in the sunlight though do you think it will work just as fine?

Jess McColl: Hi, im going to ve doing this soon however I'm dying all of my hair black and the peekaboo bit red. Whats the best way to do it without the dyes mixing/ running into eachother

Shearexpert: you are a great instructor!!! 2 thumbs up!

Joselyn Sixtos: Hi! I was wondering if 40 volume bleach is too much for mh hair. My hair is very dark and healthy. Will it be too strong of a bleach for my hair?

Berfin Ceylan: Can you please do a video on how to add colour on top of it? Like a green or a blue maybe?

Misza Coatham: I have medium brown hair naturally, with a 3NA on the ends with, 4/5 " of root of natural. How do i lift the ends and root to an even blonde, i assume i do the ends first and circle back to the roots after the ends have processed for 15 min at least? :s

Jennifer Isabel Vergara: can i use red shade? If I make them thicker, will they look good?

Daniela Silva: What kind of toner should I use if my hair is a tad bit lighter than the mannequin? Its a pretty dark brown. And I haven't dyed my hair in about 5 to 6 years.

Ana Martinez: If I am doing purple color, should I let them get lighter with the bleach?

Shayna Lyon: will the colors show when I dutch braid my hair?

Biswajeeta Mishra: Super helpful

Lee Sennett: Great video. Love watching them

Rochelle Johnson: How long did you leave the bleach on the hair?

Autumn Kirkpatrick: Could I have them bleach it like that, and add like a neon green myself at home over it?

hazel ntz198: is it possible for me to do this on my own? (as in only me) Because its the pandemic and I'm not allowed to go to the salon so I figured I could try it on my own. would light brown look good on this hairstyle? ( light brown highlights with black hair) im worried that my hair will get severely damaged because it is already dry as virgin hair

April Antczak: So to die the High Lights do I apply the permanent hair color next? Because my hair doesn't take semi-permanent at all.

Elexis Nickerson: I wanna dye my hair black with red peek a boo throughout my hair . Bleached my hair about 2 years ago (just the ends) and since growing out I have now used a ginger color on my hair now on my ends . Can I just put black dye on top of the orange or do I need to use another color first then apply black and then bleach the sections I want for the peekaboo ?

Gina Zamora-Garcia: New subscriber thank you for sharing

toffie t: I have blue/black dyed hair rn and want to try peek a boo red. Obviously dyed dark but am also naturally dark would I be going for vol 30

Yohana SirenaYLS: Love it

Cecily Hunt: I want to do something like this on my hair but it do be expensive

Kiki: Hey babes my hair color is naturally exactly like the mannequin (jet black ) do I need a 30 developer or a 20 developter? I just want the front to be highlighted only, I don’t have any chemical / bleach in my hair

Ellie Pollo: Where did you get the mannequin head from?
