Hey everybody welcome back to tesla's, with closet at wing studio, one we're going to have some fun with a brand new style by ellen villa for fall. 2020. It'S called disco, we're gon na. Do some comparisons and have a long discussion about this beautiful new curly do coming up? I think you all know me by now enough to know that i have this affinity for curl curl of all types i don't discriminate, but i especially love those wild kinky. Curly styles, and and that's really why i've enjoyed ellen villa's, curly styles throughout the years ellen villa has a special relationship with curl they're, definitely not afraid of it. They have everything from a soft gentle wave to something wild and big and afro-like, and that's what i really love about that and i featured a lot of ellen miller styles in my curly wig series. If you haven't caught that, you want to be sure to because it talks about how to work with the curls, make them presentable and also how to maintain and care for them. So when i first started to wear wigs and started to branch out and really explore, i fell in love with the short little curly style by ellen villa some of you may remember this. It was called stream and it was a short voluminous, kinky curly style. Couldn'T get enough of it had it in several colors, it wasn't long after that that that particular style was cancelled. It broke my heart and then they came out with a wiki, and i liked wiki just as well, if not more um, because i could really embrace that really kinky big curly style, and i have that in several colors. Well, just recently this year they they canceled discontinued that style, and then they came out with a style that i adored with big bouncy, fully formed ringlets. It was called jamilla, now jamila came and went and then came back and so jamilla was actually called jamilla high. When it first came out um and then it went away for a while and it returned as jamila plus. Do you remember when this happened and to this day i still don't know exactly what the difference between the two was so um? The jamilla plus is still around today, and i did again feature that in my curl series and then about two years after that, then we got our storyville and a lot of you out there that really embraced the 70s. I think are going to absolutely love it and have to have this in your wig wardrobe. Let'S take a look, so this is disco right. This style was no doubt inspired by those crazy 70s. Don'T you think it's a unit more of a uniform curl pattern, whereas on storyville you can get some that are kind of in an s pattern zigzag some that are bigger, uh, more fully formed, there's more variability in this in the uh in the curl pattern on Storyville but they're both very much the same in terms of i would say, density and overall style. I think both of these kind of were inspired by that same era, so sort of a blunt cut, design, meaning there's very limited, layering all the way around. But what you're going to see here is a bang. Yes, disco has a bang and it's very appropriate for the bang to take us back to that decade. So the bang is about five and a half inches and again. I think that bang is more bluntly cut. As well so it's five and a half inches and you'll see where it just sort of that layer sort of abruptly stops, and then it falls into its longest length here on the sides now from the crown down it's about 12 inches between 12 and 13.. So it's a little bit shorter than my storyville, it's just because i've always had curl like this. You only see me now with maybe an inch of hair all over my head and it hasn't started to blossom into this kind of curl. But if i could grow hair, it would look just like these styles, and so maybe that's why i have such an affinity for them. So without further ado, let's go ahead and change into disco. So what do you think it's 1970, something we're headed out to the club, we're going to do some saturday night fever, we're going to listen to disco all night long! We'Re going to talk about our favorite bands. We'Re going to talk about the bee! Gees andy gibb was my absolute crush in school. I have to admit - and i love this era and then there's oh, my gosh you've got you've, got abba. You'Ve got donna summers and, let's not forget my absolute favorite right out of this era and that's blondie deb harry i just it just takes me back. I can remember watching deb harry sing, heart of glass, um blondie. She saw she sang heart of glass in dick clark's 1979, new year's rock and eve, and i mean i could not wait. I had my popcorn and my cola and i sat with friends and we just loved her. I still love her to this day. Cannot get enough, i'm just have a little bit of obsession, so this is perfect. Isn'T it if you love that kind of nostalgia, but also i mean it just there's a certain personality here right. So let's talk about the bangs five and a half inches, so you can see that's coming down to the hollow of my cheek um and if i put if i stretch them straight down of course there they they go right over the eyes. So i'm definitely going to have to part this one to keep it out of the eyes, and i think it looks just fine with a little bit of a part. The other thing you could do is actually trim in a straight across bang. I mean it's already sort of a blunt separation anywhere anyway. There it's not feathered in so you could definitely cut it straight across and because it's curly, i think it's going to be a little more forgiving. Now. Also remember that i talked to you about this cap. There'S a little bit of a micro lace front which just little crescent moon piece of lace front here and then it's open top sides, and back now that micro lace front to me is just a bit useless. I i think it may help that hair just lay a little bit more flat to the head. Can you guys see that there um, but i found this - i don't know what your thoughts are. Please share. If you your opinion on these little micro lace, fronts by ellen villa they're, not meant to be full lace, fronts they're not meant to give us the look of a full lace front. The problem that i have with these little micro lace fronts is that they don't lie flat. Um, there's not enough of the lace to lie flat. It just kind of crinkles up and despite kind of stretching it out over my forehead, and it may just be the shape of my own head, but it starts to crinkle up a little bit in this case. The hair covers up most of it. So i'm not too worried about it, but it does not lie. It does not lie flat for me. So, like i said, we're we're looking at about a 12 inch overall length. There'S a big blunt cut edge in the back. Can you imagine dancing? I put it puts you there girl, it puts you right there, doesn't it um, so it would look to be heavy, but it's really not. As i explained very fine, fine silky cloud like texture doesn't feel heavy on the head at all. It just weighs a little over three ounces, so it's very very lightweight. So this is just a big fun. Bouncy crown of retro inspired curl love it in terms of permatease you're, going to find a substantial amount of permatease, especially on the top, but you know what it does not feel heavy or overdone. I can stick my hand in and go right through the wefts and scratch my scalp, so it's not the kind of permatease that's thickly, matted to where gosh. If you have a little bit of an itch on your scalp, you can't get in there and itch it. It'S uh, it's just the right amount. I don't think a lot is needed because there's limited layering and there's a lot of fiber just to create and hold this style without having to have a lot of permatease. So there's no product or anything. I don't think you would need a whole lot. Here'S an inside look at the cap for ellen villa's disco uh. You notice that little bit of a micro lace front that stretches about two inches and goes back, maybe a quarter of an inch from the hairline and then it's a closed. Uh rose net top lots of wefting on this style. A velvet closed ear tab. A lot of fiber spliced into that ear, tab, there's an extended velvet, nape and velcro style adjusters. What you need to know is that this style, i believe, is average right out of the box. I had to cinch it in as far as it could go to accommodate a petite average circumference, so just be aware that this cap is not a petite average, like so many other ellen villa styles. So now, let's talk styling for disco. As you know, i haven't done anything to this one right out of the box. So, let's see what we can do i'll just mess with it a little bit so that you can see how it moves and reacts just get a real good idea of how it's going to respond for you. Let'S try, since we have a nice retro, inspired inspired hair, let's try for a retro inspired reader, glasses style here, um glasses, fit beautifully. I'M distracted by all of this is going on here with the retro um. These are called the beatrix glasses by readers.com by the way and i'll leave links below um, but they fit beautifully between the ear and the ear tab, and these particular glasses have a nice thick arm. So glasses are not going to be a problem they fit comfortably between the ear and the ear tab on this style. Thanks so much for joining me for a fun. Look at the new disco by ellen villa in the color champagne rooted be sure to check it out at wig studio. One we'll see you next time on taz's way, closet at wig studio, one you

Suddenly Caprice: You nailed this look! Hoop earrings, retro inspired sweater...all you need is a frost lipstick! Wish I still had my Andy Gibb 8-track! ❤️

Janet O: These styles are my favorite on you—I have always been partial to the curlier styles too- they seem so forgiving- the messier the better

Sandra G. McAlister: Taz you're adorable and these curly wigs are so cute on you!! I'm still struggling with my wigs but I'm not giving up, having trouble finding just the right one. But I'll get there, maybe. Lol... question, how do you keep a wig in place that rides up in the back, or is there anything that can be done? Thanks!! Have a great day!!

Mary Dawn Pafford: Adorable! Yes the Disco does remind of that era. I loved that time in my life and loved the renaissance curly hair look, except I had poker straight. So I would wrap my hair in perm rods for that look. I love curly hair ( the grass is greener on the other side sometimes)! Great you had so much fun in this demo!!!!!!!!

Peggy Johnson: I love love the curls. I just received Storyville. Doesn’t look the best on me but I love it anyway, lol. I love your reviews, it really helps me learn about all the wigs

Susan Ferguson: OMG Taz! That was my hair back in the 70’s! I absolutely love love love! A blast from the past! You look good in it by the way, and I think I can still pull it off!

Michele Simpson: I LOVE disco on u.❤️. I became a hairdresser in 1975 this speaks to me. Oh how I remember these days. Still doing hair today and curls are back

Dmarie Walker: There was a band on TV a few days ago and the girl had a shorter version of this hair and she was rocking it! A new band called “WE”…I think this style is coming back bc it’s so easy to care for.

Fred in Pa.: I just received my Alva wig! I absolutely love it!!!!!! Thank you Taz for your wonderful review. Carolyn

T B: I love Disco so much! It’s the wig I have on in my profile pic here! I have 4 of them & your correct the lace is useless & even with “it stays” it crinkles I manage to hide it. It’s airy light & gives me instant attitude I’m 55 & this is totally my era! Thank you for all your great reviews!

Shelly F: Love this wig! My best friend back in the day wore her hair just like this! Always wanted my hair to look like hers, lol. Hoping they have this in red! Shelly

Calexis McCarrington: Looks very much like Glen Close's hair in Fatal Attraction too.

Monika's Beauty & Lifestyle: Love this video Taz. It brought back wonderful memories! That Disco hair was my style of choice for many years!

Jacqueline Castro: Stunning Wig! I always look at your reviews before buying my wigs here in Australia. Though I can't get some of the styles here through my local supplier, I'm hoping this one will be here soon!

Connie Feltman: Love it on you! I had the curls going on too! Still love all the curls! You Lou look fantastic!

sdraper2011: I had big cheerleader hair in the 80s! Taz, how is your son doing? Still praying for him and your family. <3

Jennifer S: Oh this is so pretty on you! Really looks like your hair in the photo! I love the how your sweater goes right with this vibe. I was also a big Andy Gibb fan!

swineinny1: I have this hair naturally & have always straightened it. As a teen in the ‘70’s, EVERYONE wanted Marcia Brady or Farrah hair! It’s cool that curls are so accepted now. While this is not my style at all, it looks good on you. Are these super curly ones harder to maintain & have shorter wig lives?

Amy Rutherford-Close: Love! My bio hair is "coils", I miss the thickness I used to have. Yes, 70's music is the best. Girlfriend was actually at studio 54- I still have my Donna Summers LP.

Holly Kurtz: Looks exactly like my crazy, curly bio hair back in the day. I hated it until I was in high school and then it was awesome! You look great in curls!

Michele KT: Those curly styles look great! Love 'em! I had a pair of overalls, yes overalls, with that same stripe pattern on the straps and down the sides pf the legs!

Valli S: OMG! This is my style for years. I permed my hair often. Blond was my thing, too. Wow, I don't wanna go back. heehee It's too embarrassing.

Cheryl Kitchen: ME TOO!!! I graduated high school in 1980. My husband (then boyfriend) played in a band all through college. It was great times. I loved my permed hair. Now, I'm thinking Storyville or Disco might be in my future.

Patty Carosi: Looks so cute on you Taz! Fun time's to remember.

Peggy Johnson: I just received Disco in pearl blonde rooted. I love it! I think I look like bozo the clown lol but I don’t care, I just love it. Even though I’m 70, I was trying to get a more white color but the one I got isn’t white at all even though it looked like it would

Lucy Gray: Wow, you sure set off some memories with this one. I don't think there was a better time than the 70s, and the 80s gave it a close run. Lots of Deborah Harry fans here, too, she was the ultimate hottie.

Debbie Martin: Wow, I love the wig and you are rocking those pink readers!!! (Love them too)

Jakob Christian: I love this wig so much! What would you say is the difference between the champagne rooted and the pearl blonde rooted? I look better in warmer shades, so would that be the pearl? Thanks so much.

Wear Wigs with Me: Love it on you!! Great review. You are the cutest!

Michelle Snyder: That's what my natural hair looked like but I kept it a bit longer.

Fair-to-Middling: Actually, that kind of hair is more 80's. Lots of BIG hair back then. I sure had it! In the 70's, hair was long, straight, and parted down the middle, or it was like Farrah Fawcett's side layered cut. I sported both of those hairstyles too. :)

Jean Jacobs: Very cool Taz! Love it! Love and blessings ❤

Meri A.: You look great in the curly hairdos! I wish i could wear them, too. But you rock.

Røbbin Le Mølk: You'll have to split your time with Andy with my older sister He was her all time favorite!!! I'll let her know she has some competition(even though he's no longer with us) What a fun style. You look great Btw, I got to see Debbie Harry in concert. She was awesome.

Suzanne Dawson: NOOOOO! They canceled Wiki??? I have a Wiki and it’s one of my very favorite wigs! How could they?? I was going to order another one as soon as business picks up again. Horrors! So disappointed. This is pretty but a bit too much for me. I would have loved that Stream style too

Robin Poupard: I love Disco on you! Absolutely perfect!

Carol Mullins: ☺ I ENJOYED this REVIEWI ONCE had a HEAD FULL of CURLSTHIS CERTAINLY has that LOOK of NATURALLY CURLY HAIRTHANKS, TAZ☺

Judy Bennett: Perms were all the rage...the bigger the better. My boyfriend even had one. Yeah I want to cringe when I see Saturday Night Fever today. But back then people payed attention to detail; fashion and hair. My WIKI always brings me back! Still listen to the Bee Gees and Donna Summer.

Suzanne Dawson: HA HA HA HA The pink glasses say it all the combs on the sides 80’s all the way! He he he

Frances Lock: I can see that wig in an end of year party dance of the old classic ‘Every day I’m Shufflin ’. Everyone’s done it, there’s even the Rosh Hashanah Rock Anthem using ‘Shuckling’. If you have to do a variety/comedy night team performance, just don the flouro leggins and the Ellen Wille Disco wig, learn the choreography and you’re set. I really like it, so much funky personality, you could get away with a lot in that.

Mint: Hi Taz, remember Glenn Close, Fatal Attraction? Sexy hair! It looks so soft and sensuous. Thanks for the fun review. Love, Sharon ❤️xo

Jennifer Steele: That’s so cute on you!!!! But then again, I’ve never seen a wig that you couldn’t rock..... I couldn’t ever pull it off myself though.... I would end up looking like a love child of Glenn Close on Fatal Attraction and Sammy Hagar in the MTV video “I Cant Drive 55” lol

Jackie Ireland: Love it

TRISHA N: I bought a Ellen Wille wig which I loved the style but..... It was extremely shiny which I fixed after washing about 3 times in baking soda and then using dry shampoo. What I didn't like is how thin it was around the crown. It actually shows the inside of the cap certain ways I parted it. Maybe I just got a bad one. I Also have been trying to find the link to get into Taz open box wigs. It continues to take me to reviews and other items she sells. Can anyone help me?

Lexicron: That micro lace would be ok if it stayed put, but with crinkling? Storyville (which I LOVE) seems like a better option. Is Storyville a tad smaller than Disco? I never need to cinch my Storyvilles in. They fit perfectly. Another reason to pass on Disco, perhaps...

Lea Spr: So cute!!!!

Debra Englander: Hello. Not me in disco era- long straight shiny blown out hair. Lol. You look great in that style

Suz: Taz, what are you doing to me????.....I had to close my eyes, I couldn't look.....this is exactly how I want my hair but no chance of ever getting it!! I love this and Storyville, way out of my budget though! ......Jeez.....I will be dreaming about this now! ...hugs, xoxo

Diane dee: Hi Taz...can you review Lola by Ellen wille please

Constance J: Is this the same wig as Calliope marketed in the UK?

Truenews: I LOVE THE DISCO ERRA......REMEMBER "RUBBER BAND MAN" ? I LOVE THAT KINDA MUSIC, IT PUTS A SPRING IN YOUR STEP FOR SURE...

Nobody’s Ho: What’s the name of the wig labeled “H” in the background, please?

popgems: Hi Taz! What is the wig with the letter "M"?

MoodyGirl Beauty: ❤❤❤❤❤

Cheryl Kitchen: Jamilla Plus, Storyville and Disco....I'm trying to understand the differences.

LMC: What is the one you are wearing?

Jackie Ireland: Is this something you would wear

Joey Hill: Very Meg Ryan early 00
