Installing A Wig For The First Time | Hairvivi Review (Beginner Friendly)

Hi guys how's it going. My name is annie faye for those of you. That don't know me for those of you that do hello. Welcome back! Thank you for joining me again. Please excuse my hair. It'S gross! It'S dirty! It'S flat! It just doesn't look good. I think i'm on like my fourth day or something, but that doesn't matter because today i'm going to be applying a wig for the first time. I am so excited about this. I think it's so cool to be able to have like a different style, a different color every day without the damage or like the commitment. I guess i actually used to be blonde um. Here'S what that looked like in case you're, wondering um. Please don't judge the eyebrows, they were so thick, but this was like 2016, so you get it. You know it was a thing back then, but yeah i loved the blonde. It was just really damaging um, so i had to go back to brunette and honestly. I love the brunette more, it's my natural color, so i think it suits me. I just do miss the blonde, sometimes so, i'm always like man. I need to get a wig. A few weeks ago i got an email from hairv asking to collaborate, and i was like this is amazing. I was very excited, obviously like it was something i was super interested in, but i was like well, i don't know if i would be the perfect fit for you guys, because i actually have no experience with wig application and they were like that. That'S perfect because we want to show how beginner friendly our wigs are, and i think it's a fun video idea that you guys would enjoy as well. So i've been rambling for like a really long time, let's get into the video, so i picked out a blonde wig and they sent it over in this beautiful box. Um, i've already opened it so the ribbon's a little loose, but the wig comes in this beautiful silk bag, i'm actually just overall, really obsessed with their packaging. Look at this beautiful blonde color. I hope it's coming out the right shade. I think it is you get a comb as well, this double-ended brush, so this is like a brush side and then a little tiny comb side, and then you also get two hair clips. I did also pick up a couple. Other things that you're also gon na need um, so i just got some wig caps. I also picked up this lace glue, but i don't know if i'm gon na be using this today. I might try to do like a glueless install for my first time since i am a beginner and then i picked up the got to be blasting freeze spray um. This is just great for, like slick back, looks, but i have seen a lot of people use. This to apply their wigs, whether they do a glueless install or a melted, install. This seems to always come in handy, so i wanted to pick that up. Okay, so first things. First, i have a lot of hair. We'Re gon na need to get that in a wig cap um. I actually watched a lot of videos on this as well, and most people braid their hair um, but i feel like if i were to do that it would still be very thick, so i actually stumbled upon kylie but kylie carly bibles video um on how she Does it because she has insanely long hair? I think she mentioned in the video that it was like 30 inches or something that is crazy, long um, but yeah. She was like showing her technique for um getting her hair in a wig cap, so i'm gon na try that out. Basically, i'm just going to be slicking it back in a low pony, yeah, okay, so i'm gon na go in with a little bit of this and i'm just using a bore brush to make sure everything is nice and smooth? Okay. Now i'm just tying my hair really low. You want a really low pony, okay, that is how low i have it. I'M actually going to take a little bit more of this and just really get my hair as slick as possible. I have so many little baby hairs that i'm trying to like make sure are like laid back um, so they're not like poking out. I honestly i i hate this look for me, okay, so i have my first wig cap here. I'M gon na push it back in a little bit, but first i'm just tucking up my ponytail under the wig cap or like into it. Oh, my god, my arms are tired. I really need to start working out. This is crazy. Okay, so, as you can see, i have the ponytail all tucked in and now what carly said to do was basically just like smush it flat or as flat as it can be. Since you know there is a lot of hair in there, so i'm just gon na kind of like play around with it and like smush it until i feel like it's flat enough or until i feel like. I can't get it any flatter and i honestly do think i'm at that point right now. Oh okay, i look like an actual egg, but i'm liking this little eyebrow lift i've got going on. Let me pull my ears out now. Oh, my goodness, okay, i i cannot look at myself in the viewfinder honestly. I can't take myself seriously okay, so this here is the coral wig. It is 16 inches. It'S got 180 density, i believe so it's pretty thick um like it's a lot of hair. So it's got a transparent lace front with transparent, hd lace. The hairline is also pre-plucked, so you don't have to pluck it yourself. It looks so realistic. The knots are also bleached, so you don't have to do that either. So here's the inside of the wig it comes with three comb clips, one on each side and then one on the back here. It also has an elastic band here and these adjustable straps here, i'm probably going to have it pretty loose because i have kind of a big head - and this is a 13 by 6 lace front. So you can part it so many different ways. It'S styled to be a side part, but i can change that with like a hot comb. You see how i'm running my fingers through it and i can literally part it wherever i want. Okay, so i'm going to go ahead and put this on um. I'M just kind of like flipping it inside out so yeah you're, going to want the band to kind of go over any hair lumps and then i'm taking the back comb and tucking that in okay. What do we think um? Let'S take a close look at this because it's crazy. Obviously i have to cut the lace um, but look at this scalp um, i'm just gon na try and make sure before i cut it that i have it on how it's supposed to be because the hairline is plucked kind of like that. So that's got to be in the middle like that. This is such a deep side part now, it's time to cut the lace, which is the scariest part. I think, because, like you really can't go back from this um i've seen this done so many different ways. You can use scissors, you can use a razor um, i'm gon na use these scissors, i feel, like the size, is kind of decent they're. Not too big. Let me actually adjust the camera, so you guys can see up here. Um, i'm just gon na start by clipping back this hair and i'm just going to cut the lace in the middle and from what i've seen. You'Re not going to want to go straight. You'Re going to want to kind of go jaggedly around the hairs. And that looks the most natural lace is cut. Let me get back to a better angle, because i do not like this. I do want to kind of glue down the lace a little bit. I am i'm just going to use this, i'm not going to use glue, so i'm just going to spray my forehead, where the lace goes a little bit um. Now i've seen videos saying that when you're using the hairspray you don't really have to wait for it to get tacky, but i think i do want to do that just because it might be a little bit easier. So i'm just like fanning it a little bit with my hand, okay and then put that down and just kind of use this comb to stick it down. I'M especially going to do it on the side here, because that's where it's lifting the most um i am going to try and like see. If i can conceal like my wig cap situation with some makeup, though now i hear that the best thing to use for that is a powder foundation, i actually don't have powder foundation, but i do just have like regular pressed powder, so i'm gon na see, if It works with this, if not i'm gon na go in with a concealer, but this is just like one of those flat brushes. I use for concealer, i'm also just gon na put that in the hair part that does kind of look better, because it looks really like light underneath from my wig cap. That'S like the best i can do right now, but i think it looks really amazing for like a first time, wig application like i'd, go out like this.
