Hey guys, I'm celebrity hairstylist Cynthia Alvarez and I'm here to show you five for must-have wigs. First we're going to start out with a u-part wig, which is one of the easiest to pull off. Basically, it's just track sewn on a wig cap and, as you can see, all of her crown is going to be left out so to begin. I measure her head like this, so that way I know how much to part and tie away so before we braid the rest down. I have to separate the crown area. That'S going to go over her over her wig in order to pull this wig off. You have to have medium to long hair so that none of the tracks are going to show. You also want to leave some of your hair line out to cover the front about a quarter inch behind your hairline harder all the way to the ear and, depending on how you're going to start your wig, if you're normal you're just going to leave it down, You can just write all the back up. If you're going to pull it up into a ponytail, then I will suggest use part some of it out I'd like to twist the bray the front so that it doesn't go into the other braids. You get cleaner lines like that. It'S just easier to attach the wig when you have a clear view of the all the lines and the part lets you parted the front out of your way. What I normally do is, I just do like. Maybe an inch section at a time and braid that down so it lays as flat as possible on your head. You also want to keep the braids close to the part, so that way, the wick and anchor onto the braids perfect, so once you've graded all the hair up. Next, what you're going to do is you're going to wrap the braids intertwine them into each other and then try to pin them, so they lay flat as possible on the head now, depending on how long you're going to wear your unit, you can make the braids Thicker which allow you to take them out a bit easier or you can make them a little thinner if you're going to wear it for a longer period of time. Just pin any of those loose ends that you see kicking up, because the last thing you want to do is for a unit to be big and lumpy. As you can see, the braids are really laying flat to her head now. We attach the? U part I've added two clips onto both ends of the of the? U part so they're going to clip right there, other people like to sew it on other people at combs. I find that clips are just really easy to take on and off and if you're going to sew it down, you're obviously going to leave it on. For some time make sure all the braids are tucked under the unit and then you can go in and start pinning again I like to use longer pins for this, so they really anchor into the braid and you don't get any slippage or you know you don't Have any of the wig sliding up and down just feel for the brave put the pin through the wig cap and right through the braid? Now you can start undoing your sections and start styling and blending with them with your wig. I personally like to style my wigs on the mannequin head, so that way I can get the shape that I really really want it's pretty hard to style on your own if you're not used to it. So it's easier, if you just do it on a Mac as opposed to your own head, but once the wig is on, you have to kind of style your hair, to match the texture of the wig. So for putting today, we gave her something a beachy wave, something really casual. So what I'm going to do is I'm just going to match that texture with her own? Thank you and when you're dealing with a u-part wig, you also want to make sure that the texture and the color match your hair perfectly. So if you have, if you have finer hair, you want the hair not to be so thick on the you part unit. So that way, it's relatively undetectable another great thing about you parts is the versatility that you have like right now. Brittany can't part her hair anywhere on her crown. She can do a side part. She could do a middle part. She could even pull it back if she wanted to, because we left some hair out on her edges. She can pull it back and knot and have like no consequences. You can't see any of the wig any other tracks, so once you've done styling it to your liking, give it a nice little judge to some extra body and then spray in place. If you notice that, like you, can see that the separation between your hair and the you part it, what you can do is just lift it up, tease it a little bit and blend through together. Now you have a coke, the insulation of a? U part, wig

Marcia Wright: This is the worst u-part wig! Does not blend, you can see the line of demarcation. Stylist is not trained properly.

Virginia Lizcano: On all the wig sites that sell u part wigs, the how to videos only show them leaving out the tinniest amount of hair at the crown and it looks way mire natural than this. Also all the hairspray is unnecessary and makes the leave out look even thicker. The wig sites use no hairspray and it looks so much more natural. Also this hair stylist seems so mean and unfriendly :/
