Welcome back loves and if it's your first time here, i'm ilana and i'll be showing you this beautiful unit by ulova today, and it is 24 inches long, definitely the longest wig that i have ever worn. But i figured hey it's fall time. Let'S do something! A little different, it's time to bundle up so i'll, be showing you how i install this unit straight out of the box and also the products that i will be using to install. It is a brand new line from shea moisture and they're amazing. So if you want to find out more details on the wig and these products definitely stay tuned, so of course packaging super cute and in this little silk bag, it also came with tweezers pair of lashes and a wig cap. Sorry, i forgot to show that to you guys just a little background info, i'm also in the process of moving and relocating, so a lot going on basically living in mayhem. So i kind of forgot a couple details, but don't worry, i will list all of the specifics for this wig down below, as well as where you can get it and even a discount code. If you choose to purchase this as well, but i did order in a size, small and the fit was really good. Now, normally, when i get a new wig, i would condition it first, just to give it that moisture that they tend to lack when you first get them or after they've been dyed and colored, but because i was a little short on time. I decided to just dive straight in figure out what kind of parting i was going for, and you know i'm a fan of the side part. So i went with that, but the lace, i think, was a little too light for me. It was like that off kind of grayish white, so this is my first time trying out the true match: lace conceal, i don't think i did it properly or enough, but i'll definitely be diving into that product. More. So if you guys are curious about you know seeing how that works for a full, detailed video on that, please let me know down below, because i can definitely do that for you and i'm super excited to try out more of their products as well. Now these clips are a must i'll put the link for them as well. If you don't have you know some sturdy ones, because there's nothing worse than having to readjust and have the hair slip and fall and be in your way. So good clips are definitely the number one on your list, because you want to get a clear idea of the lace where it sits and where you want to cut it. So i did a few more sections than i normally do just so it's easier to work around the hairline, then for a more custom fit just follow the line along your ear. Sliding it straight up, don't be afraid about cutting the hair. It'S going to happen, but it'll be okay. The most important part is not having any rubbing or irritation around your ear, because that's going to make a huge difference in how you feel about the wig and how long you'll be able to wear it at a time without being completely aggravated, and also don't worry. If it's not perfect the first time not to mention when you get a wig, the very first time it's going to take really long in order for you to feel comfortable with it, get it how you want it, but i probably cut my wigs two three times Still after the first install so you're always gon na be tweaking it you're always gon na want something a little bit better. So don't freak out if it's not exactly how you expect it on your first try just be careful when you cut the side pieces not to cut into the structure of the wig, because that can run into a lot of problems you just want to cut along The very edge, so you don't get any leftover pieces that'll get in your way and in case you guys have noticed, i did forget to cut the little lace piece in the back, but i generally don't worry about it because i can always have my hubby cut. It for me later, because i always get too excited and go straight in and i'm like. Oh, i forgot this piece. So that's why you still see it peeking out in the back, but my go-to, since the very beginning is still the ion heat protecting spray. To me, it doesn't really matter what kind you use as long as you like it and it works make sure you protect the unit as much as possible, so you can keep it around even longer now this step you don't have to do, but i'm so used To doing it now, it just helps flatten out the hairline, give it a more natural look, because wigs tend to be very puffy, so getting it to actually press out more towards the roots, and so you can see the hairline and when you go to apply your Glue or hairspray or gel it'll be a lot easier to see what you're doing. But while i'm doing this, let's talk about the wig a little bit. I was actually really impressed by the texture of the hair. I know from experience when it comes to units that have been dyed or especially bleached, to get these highlight type colors. It can be really harsh on the hair. So when not done properly, the hair can feel really rough really dry, but especially for it coming straight out of the box and putting it on. It was a very soft and silky texture. I didn't experience any crazy shedding of course, you're gon na see some hair come out because i'm tweezing i'm doing the hot comb. I'M also cutting the lace which also cuts hair as well, so don't freak out when you're doing that process. But when i refer to shedding, i mean during the day, while you're wearing it running your fingers through it, you shouldn't be getting a lot of hair. That'S not good, so i didn't see that at all, even when brushing out the hair, i would get one or two strands so a plus on the construction for sure. The only thing i saw was maybe at the very ends of the hair. I would go in later on maybe on my second install and trim that up a little, that's where you can kind of see the dryness at the very end, but besides that pretty impressed with the quality of their hair. If i could maybe change one thing, it would be the quality of the lace. You guys know, i'm a little pickier on the lace and when i was more involved with my own line, i love the the softer, thinner, swiss lace or hd lace for an easier. You know installing process this one was a little on the thicker side and, as you saw it wasn't quite my color, but those things are all fixable depending on how much time you want to spend on it, you can even just use a little bit of makeup. A little powder or concealer and fix any color issues when it comes to the lace but overall, not bad at all, especially for the length. So now, let's talk about shea moisture a little bit these products, i think, are so interesting because they're clean, like they're gon na protect your your edges. If you do have hair for me, i have a little bit of growth, so i pay more attention now when using products, but i love it - has tea tree oil in it and it's water-based. So it's not gon na leave a gunky residue on your wigs. It'S very easy to remove if you're like myself and you like to do an install for maybe a day or two or even same day, and it comes with a spray for removal. So if you do want to use a quick removal, you can take it off. No problem - and this washes off your lace very easily. I like the smell - i like the texture of it, wasn't gooey, but i think because of the aloe vera, it does have that thinner, almost slimy texture. So you can tell when i put it on the little brush, i kind of circle it around in order to get all of it, and i would recommend, if you do check out those products to use an applicator such as the little brush, to put it on. So that way, it doesn't become a mess all over your hand or on the hair. It allows you to control the product. A lot better, just remember thin thin applications, no matter what you're using glue hairspray, you want to do a layer at a time. Just a little bit use your hair dryer on a cool setting one! You don't want to burn yourself, you want it to be comfortable and it's best for the hair and the wig to do it on cool you just want to assist in the drying process. The comb helps you press everything down. Without sticking the hair itself to the lace into your skin, so that's another little tip. I believe i did about three applications of the gel and you can also use the styling foam, which was great because it gives you enough firmness to get the pieces of hair. You want back without getting that sticky heavy weight down feeling and all the products smell good by the way they smell amazing, and this little band in case you guys are wondering, is also by a true lace match. I always forget, i think, that's what it's called, but i've been using the elastic band method for a little while now and i wasn't sure if this band would make much of a difference. But let me tell you having the velcro in the back makes your life. So much easier, especially with the long unit like this, where you're not worrying about tying it and getting the hair all wrapped up tangled or even pulling it out. It was so easy, like. I don't know how i got along without having this before, but it just helps get everything laid down and out of the way, and it's also a perfect time to go ahead and style. The rest of the unit, if you're, going to use a straightener or curling iron, it's going to keep all of that excessive pulling from tugging at your edges, keep everything in place so when you're ready to remove it or even after your makeup, you're good to go, See how easy the comb is just gliding through this hair, no issues at all and i'm just going in with a slight trim. This just adds another dimension a little bit of layering. I didn't go in too much because one i wanted to stay pretty true to length to show you guys how long the hair is, and i was pressed for a time. Just as a little side note. I was in the middle of moving and uh clearing out the entire house with little ones. So, let's just say i didn't have a lot of extra time for intense details, but for a quick install in the midst of mayhem. I was really impressed and again, if you don't have this tool or if you don't have the time, it's not absolutely necessary, you can even do this if you're using a curling iron. You can achieve some of this look, but it just helps set your part where you're not fighting, to keep the hair in place, and now i'm just going in lightly to kind of thin out the parting. So that way, it didn't look so um. So tight and closed, i wouldn't recommend going in too heavy, though, because i tend to change my mind on parts a lot i might want it on the left. Then i want it on the right or then i do middle. So i would never go in too hard on a unit and thin it out unnecessarily, because you don't want it to be a bald spot or a balding line. You just want it a little more natural to me it's better to do a little over a long period of time than do a ton in a short period, and then you ended up with this super sparse, bald, looking wig to me, these units cost way too Much to go so heavy-handed on them, but again personal preference. Everyone has their own, and now i apologize you guys that i didn't get the lace cutting for you because, like i said there was a lot going on and somehow my footage just ended and thankfully i caught it soon enough or i didn't continue the rest of The video and it was a wash, but i did end up missing that footage. But if you like, i can put links to my other videos, where i show different ways that i've cut it either using the eyebrow razor, which is a popular method for getting a jagged kind of zigzag approach. Or you can continue with the sheers. There'S a few different ways to do it, you kind of just have to feel it out and see which one works best for you. But even though this hair already came in a body wave, i decided to go in with my wand and just to find them a little more. I find that after you get the unit and you brush it out, it's nice to kind of go in and polish those curls again, but you definitely don't have to and now the curls are set. I just went in to detail a little bit with the baby hair. I honestly go back and forth with this, and i'm sure you guys have seen the trends are constantly shifting and changing one minute, no baby, hair next minute, crazy, intense baby hair. I change day to day so, as you see, i didn't really go in too hard. I didn't cut the hairs because i find when they're cut, if you do choose to smooth them back later, it's a pain in the butt and they're going to be sticking up everywhere, so i actually choose to keep them longer, if not exactly how they came. Maybe just a little thinned out a little tweezed, so if i want to, i can pull out some hair and shape it. If i don't, i can easily slick it back with a flyaway mousse like the shea moisture or any other products you may like, and it's not a problem so that to me is a good tip, especially if you're a beginner don't cut too much in the beginning. If you're not sure, because it's better to have it and cut later, if you change your mind, but these highlights are so pretty and yes, i decided to tear through my curls. I always do that. I'M not a fan of the super super defined curls, especially with the curling iron. I, like more of the tossed wavy look and just for one final touch. I chose to define this swoop some more because i don't know about you guys, but i struggle with my corners a lot. Sideburns are always my nemesis, so this is a really good way of not only hiding it but adding a little extra security as well, and i don't know i was just really feeling it. I thought it looked super cute, but that's it loves. Thank you. So much for watching and i'll see you next time. Bye!

Carolyn Driscoll: Thank you for this. I’ve been wanting to have some fun and enjoyment with some beautiful wigs. Your info is very helpful and I appreciate it. I would love to be able to experiment with different hair colors lengths and styles.

The Adhd Gardener: How long u keep your wigs on for? Also how frequently do u wash it while it's on your head?

Ati Sar: It is a beautiful wig in the head of a beautifull lady

The Adhd Gardener: I'm afraid to shave my head yet but my alopecia is so bad there's no hiding it anymore wound up cutting it super short. I'm debating on even bothering with using a wig cap or not
