Hey curlfriends Today we're going to be creating our very own DIY, Crochet, Wig. You're, just going to need a few inexpensive items, a weaving cap, a wig cap as well as some braiding hair.. I used 4 packs. We're starting off with our weaving cap.. This is what we're going to attach the braiding hair to.. This particular cap came with an open top.. There are some wig caps that will come with a closed top., But this particular one did not come with it., So I'm just going to sew the ends together to create a closed top.. Obviously, in the Beauty Supply store, this will be the cheapest option if you're really on a budget. Moving on to the braiding hair. Now this part is totally customizable to your liking., I'm going for a really long hairstyle. So I'm not going to cut the pack in half at all., I'm going to use the entire long length of the pack.. This is what I'm pretty much doing., I'm taking the latch hook and pushing it under two loops.. The hair is now folded in half. So you will end up with a loop on one side and the braiding hair on the other side. You're, just going to pull the hair through the loop twice. Pull the hair down to secure it. As you're, creating your knots and adding your hair to your wig. You want to make sure that you are keeping track of how much hair you have left, as well as how much hair you're installing.. I like to use the thicker method towards the back and I thin out my strands of hair towards the front so that it lays nice and flat. As I get halfway done with each pack. I try to make sure that I'm detangling the hair, as I go. you definitely don't want to wait until the end to detangle this hair. If you're using 100 % Kanekalon hair. Like I am. The hair is synthetic hair.. It will get very matted and tangled really quickly.. I want to reduce the amount of hair that I'm shedding and how many tangles I'll get towards the end.. I'M almost done., I'm just adding in my thinner strands towards the front of the wig.. This will let go of all of the bulk.. It won't be too bulky and it'll lay nice and flat, as you can see, here. Now that I'm all done, I'm going to use my big paddle brush and get rid of any of the loose or shedding hair so that I don't have too much hair shedding. All over the place., This is the final result.. Taking it a step further, you can add on your own wig cap, to prolong the longevity of this crochet wig. With crochet wigs a lot of times. You will find that your cap will shrink because it is a mesh cap.. This is totally normal. To stretch the cap out, I'm going to take off my crochet wig and add on my cap to my mannequin head.. If you have a definite part, make sure to keep track of that part, so you know where you're laying this wig. Now I'm going to attach my crochet wig on top of the wig cap and add my stitching process.. This is totally easy to do and I promise you it'll save you a lot of time when you're styling your hair in the mornings., I'm going to sew down the cap to wig cap so that it stretches out. There you have it Your very own, DIY Crochet, Wig on a budget girl Now that you've got your foundation done, your wig is pretty much complete. You can go ahead and customize it to your own liking.. You might want to keep it straight, just like this or you could even curl it. If you want to. I'll, be curling mine in the near future.
