Hey everybody welcome back to taz's wig closet at wig studio one. Today i want to re-review and revisit a style from raquel welch from. I think it was 2016.. It'S called straight up with the twist. I have it in two colors to show you coming up this raquel welch straight up with the twist and pale golden honey was sent to me by wig studio, one for this review, the other color in shaded biscuit, i purchased with my own funds from wig studio. One we invite you to shop at wig, studio, one if you expand the description box below you'll, see links to this product as well as the other raquel welch wigs, and there is also a promo code for you to use for a discount. If you have any question about this style or any other feel free to reach out to support wigstudio1.com they're, always ready to help raquel watches straight up with the twist is a short on a first appearance. Classically layered bob style cut, but it does have a little bit of twist, so we're going to talk about what that twist might be. I have it here in the color pale golden honey rl1688. Now this color here is a base color of a medium to dark, honey blonde, and then it's very heavily highlighted with a pale ash blonde. This is not a rooted color overall, i think it's a very neutral color that would appeal to you. If you enjoy warm or cool tones, so let's talk about the specs for straight up with a twist of that front piece is about eight inches all right, so that just kind of frames the face wherever you divide the hair, it's going to frame the face and Come past your chin or right at your chin for most people now the crown and the crown measurement is also eight inches. Okay, so we're starting it's starting to take shape here, there's about a five inch layer or so here on the sides and then a two and a half inch nape. So all of these layers kind of convene to show you that it's going to be a little bit of a fuller cut just because it doesn't have a whole lot of layering. It'S going to be fuller and rounder, just like a classic bob. So but here's the twist - and i i think in recent years that rick - how well just taken this twist even a little farther we're going to talk about that. But the twist is that these it's been modernized and updated with some razor tapered ends. So you can really see that on the ends, especially here on the sides, they kind of sweep forward and they're taken down a little bit there. So it's not a true thick blunt cut. You'Ve got a little bit of that going on in the back as well. So i think this is a beautifully shaped style and you can really manipulate this. So if you wanted more volume on the sides, you could certainly get it for me and my face shape. I kind of like it a little bit of a lower profile on the side, so i'm just a big fan of talking pieces like this, so this piece does have the temple to temple, extended, lace, front and full single monofilament top open sides and back it's just Gorgeous, if you've ever seen, this type of cap construction by raquel welch, it's very high quality, and that makes a difference when you were talking about lace, so the lace always lays very flat to the head. It'S a very nice soft, pliable lace, but it also it seems to be substantial enough that you know it's not too delicate um. They always do the seams, especially well, and it looks completely realistic from the front and that monofilament top means you can part it wherever you like and get the illusion of of scalp. Now this weighs about 3.25 ounces. So i consider it to still be very lightweight. This is made from the true-to-life fiber by raquel welch, which is heat friendly. They say up to 350 degrees um. I have not taken any heat to this one. One thing i can say on this heat friendly fiber on a straight style, is that it does tend to get a little bit stringy throughout the day. The coating that they use on this the little mock cuticle makes it feel very luxurious and much like human hair, but at the same time it does tend to clump together. So you might want to stash a brush in your bag, your handbag, so you can run it through this style every so often when the style was released. It quickly became very popular in that raquel welch line. It'S easy to see why, with the modern layering, bobs are always going to be in style in one shape, form or another, and we love the versatilities that we get in bob's and i think that's why raquel welch has come out recently with more takes on this. Very same kind of bob cut where this is more classically designed in terms of its layering, they they've even razored and layered it up even more to create styles like real deal and flirting with fashion that just came out in 2020. So i think i'm gon na do a full comparison review of those three styles coming up, so that you can see the subtle uh and not so subtle differences. So i also have this one in the color shaded biscuit rl1923ss. I think i'll go ahead and change into that color, so we can complete the review and then i'll do some side-by-side comparisons. So i'm back wearing that rl1923ss shaded biscuit um. I love this color on the style, it's beautiful and what i love about it is that it has a lot of nice platinum, some ash platinum, especially around the face they bring that right up to the lace front. The root is rather dark, but it isn't too long as if to darken and muddy the whole color. Now it could be considered neutral, leaning cool, but i don't see it being as being a warm color as it's applied to the style. So you are going to see some permatease all around that monofilament top and at the back um very, very little here at the nape and some here at the temple. It'S very well done. It doesn't feel too overdone and it does serve to help this bob keep its shape all the way around. So i have this piece just wait just the way i want it. I typically part it just left of center kind of create a little bit of lift and contour there at the top so that it divides and stays out of the face. I like to spread out the layering around the face as well. Taking advantage of that texturizing. What i'll do now is a complete side by side, so you can see the shaded biscuit right beside the pale golden honey. Do do you

Elizabeth B. In Texas: This was my first wig purchase, back in 2015 I believe. I have it on in my profile picture here and in with my husband in our formal church portraits. Your right a about it clumping at neckline. It has virtually no loose swing to the fibers in the back. I rarely wear it anymore because of the stiffness. I have the Shaded Biscuit. If I get it again I will get un-rooted, since I am gray at the root myself. It was very nice to see another review again! I will say this was a great piece to start with!!! Thanks Taz

Marlene's Wig & Chat Studio: What a beautiful and perfect bob! I love it on you! I'm not certain why I haven't taken a second look at it. Beautiful classic style "with a twist!" Thank you for the review and color comparison! XOXO

Judy Bennett: I love that it is a classic style that never goes out of fashion.

Lisa Wawrzynski: Hi Taz! Great comparison review. I LOVE Straight Up With a Twist and of all my short-style wigs, I get the MOST compliments when I wear Straight Up! I have two; one in shaded biscuit and the other in shaded hazelnut, they're perfect! Hugs, Lisa

Holly Kurtz: I love this wig! I wish it was offered in the newer cool colors.

Front Porch Wig Chat: It's a super nice bob, for sure. I own two in SS Cappuccino. I wouldn't mind having it in a different color as well. It is definitely very wearable for most women. Adding that my only complaint is that stiff look, lack of movement at the back where it tends to clump and stick out straight.~Cynthia

Monika's Beauty & Lifestyle: What a gorgeous style. Love the colors on you Taz. Awesome comparison!

Nola Sidders: Another great comparison Taz. They’re both stunning on you! However, I do prefer the rooted style.

Jean Jacobs: Greetings Taz! Very chic and yet timeless as well. Of course, you know me, I like the unrooted one the best! Love and blessings ❤️

Mint: Hi Taz, I love this wig! How does it fit? Stretchy enough for 23 inches? I love the fullness, length and style. I often wonder why God didn’t give me an average head size! I’ve seen that wigs can be altered to fit a large head size by inserting some elastic into the back band. I might experiment on a cheap wig. I sure enjoy you Taz, you lovely woman: Outside and inside my friend! Love, Sharon

Jennifer Steele: Cute styles and colors!!!! I watch all of your reviews and end up buying them- I think my husband is going to have to build a room just to put all of them! Lol I don’t know if you have already thought about it... but I have a suggestion/request!!!! I would love to see you do make up and skin care tutorials as well as wig reviews!!!! You are absolutely stunning and have the most luminous and perfect skin I’ve ever seen- and I watch a lot of make up and skin care videos and I can sincerely tell you that tour skin and make up looks better than any I’ve ever seen!!!! Thank you again for doing video reviews as they are so helpful and you present them in a very in detail and helpful way!!! God bless you and hope you have a great Thanksgiving! ❤️

Dee Roga Tory: Sister colors! Love them both!

Michele KT: I love Straight Up With A Twist. It's my favorite bob!

Mickeyb B: I got my first wig today, the Straight up with a twist. Love it!!! Here's a question in regrds to dating. So, what to do if your date wants to touch your hair and you havent said anything about wearing a wig?? It looks so natural but it wont feel that way if he runs his fingers through my hair?

mary allen: Taz, love Straight Up With A Twist. So, cute on you... Also, loved your jacket on the outside photos and your backyard looks beutiful. Stay well. Blessings. Love you, Mary ♡♡♡ P.S. I'm really started to lean towards the unrolled colors...

Valli S: Beautiful colors. You look awesome in each. QUESTION: Concerning makeup choices which coordinate with wig colors. I'm thinking of eyebrows. Do you tend to "match" your eyebrow color to the rooting of a wig color? Or, do you find that unnecessary? xoxo

Kimc GARYC: Another great review. I really appreciate the color comparison.

Sandra Letkeman: Good Morning Taz ! What is the closest “sister” style to this wig that is not heat friendly? I love RW wigs and do have one that is heat friendly but to high maintenance I only wear it occasionally. I have it in Shaded Biscuit and love the colour but I’m leaning towards Pale Golden Honey this time. Any advice you can give me will be greatly appreciated as I need a workhorse wig I can wear everyday. Have a wonderful day!

Maria Daquila: Classic, Taz! Very beautiful!

Amy Rutherford-Close: Of course, I love the Butter blonde-your a Shaded Biscuit for sure. The Bob cut is perfect.

Deborah Ahonen: Very cute style! Definitely prefer the unrooted color; the root looks too dark and harsh, imho. The unrooted color is softer-looking.

Sandra G. McAlister: Cute wig Taz, I'm really bummed ☹️ can't get my Alva. Ordered in Moonstone and get get her until March....did cancel my order cause just not sure about waiting that long, lol... I'm not having good experience with wigs so far. Maybe I'll try toppers. Anyway, this is another cute one, thanks for sharing! Have a great day!

Suz: Very pretty, I love the 1st colour!.....Always looking beautiful my friend, love ya! xoxo

Cheryl Kitchen: This was excellent. Thank you for posting.

bvdragonlady: Gorgeous!

Pat Lechuga: Love it!

Florence Carroll: I have this style; my second is on shaded cappuccino. Very disappointed very stiff tendency to clamp too much flyaway applied steam didn’t work, tried to make it soft I used curling iron no success.

Lori Hoffman: I love this cut and color but I need a bit of a bang. What style would you recommend? And I'd love to see your eye make up routine!

Roylene: Between Straight Up with a Twist and The Real Deal which one has the most realistic denier? Thank you

arleen lee: I wrote long post about 9 wigs since last September!
