Now i don't know about y'all, but i've been seeing these two-tone ponytails all over the internet for the past like two weeks and you already know, i had to try it for myself all right, so i have my girl actually modeling today, i'm gon na show you How i did this color and the install so stay tuned for both what is going on youtube? It'S your girl, easy breezy and i'm with ash cash in the building. Don'T forget the dollar sign yeah yeah yeah. We are doing a really cute hairstyle. This is going around right now we have to try it out. This is like old school nicki minaj, though, with a twist, because her pink wasn't like hot pink. It was like baby but we're doing a ponytail. This is a 360 wig. Let'S tell my subscribers where we started out because she was a stylist at the galaxy girl salon a long time ago, the og galaxy girl right exactly like the og salon before we got shut down by the fire marshall. So what was your experience at my shop? Like um the good and the bad and the ugly, it was a lot of good. It was a lot of bad and it was dang. Dang show a lot of ugly, but i'm glad that i was able to meet easy breezy. We kind of fell out, but we reconciled and i'm here and that's all that matters. We did not speak for a whole year, but it was no like it wasn't nothing personal, never like animosity. It was i'm gon na. Take the blame on my end, because i just let too much outside influence my brain and i use my own brain. I don't let people think for me and in that instance i was letting other people think for me and not doing my due diligence. We could have been a dream team, though we still can't be, but we could have been the dream team, y'all yeah, but yo. What is going on youtube? It'S your girl, izzy breezy, and you already know, i'm back with another hair sponsor. So today we have my shiny wigs. Alright, they sent us a 360 wig specifically for me to do a ponytail, and you already know they came to the right girl. So, like i mentioned in the beginning of the video um, i've been seeing these two-tone ponytails going around instagram like for the past week and i'm not saying that this is like a brand new trend, because obviously i mean this has been done countless times, but sometimes Hair trains circle back like in a very powerful way, so everyone is like doing two-tone type hairstyles with their natural hair and with their extensions. So i'm like hey. This is a perfect time for me to have a 360 wig, because i can do it for me. I really like doing ponytails like hey. If you have a hair company and you want me to promote a wig, i love doing 360, wigs, like i like doing ponytails, whereas before a couple years ago, i was extremely intimidated by doing ponytails. I did not want to do them every time. A client brought me a wig and was like. Can i do a high ponytail? I used to be like, oh, like i used to be so annoyed because i was, you know, frustrated with things that i wasn't good at, but you know the more and more i do it, the more comfortable i become with it. So i'm just like hey bring on the ponytails, come on all right. So in this video, i'm showing you how i did this install and how i did the color, like normally i'll separate the color videos from my install videos, but my ass don't be releasing the color videos. When i say i will so i'm just like you know what let me not cause no confusion with my subscribers. Let me just put the color video right smack dab inside the install video so right before we put on this wig, i'm gon na show you how i did the color from beginning to end alright. So right now i am doing my ball cap method with the beige stocking cap from galaxygirlhair.com. Now i was a little bit torn between the two i'm like i don't know. If i should do the medium brown cap or the beige honestly, ashley probably could have got away with the medium brown cap, but i wasn't really sure i'm just like. I don't want to make a mistake here, so i just went ahead with the beige stocking cap and now i'm putting on powder makeup to make it fit her complexion perfectly as possible all right. So now that ashley's in my chair, it's really like bringing back a lot of memories about when i was a shop owner and just everything that i've been through all the trials and errors the good times the bad times. And i want to talk to you all about my, i guess pros and cons and my experience with leading a team of stylists alright. So i guess i'll do it like this. I will name one good thing that i did and one bad thing that i did that i could have definitely improved on all right. So one thing that i know i've done right is create a salon environment that was comfortable. You know it was a vibe. It was always clean and i feel like stylists felt like you know, my salon environment was just always professional and comforting and they can even bring their clients there. So that's one thing all right, so one thing that i could have definitely done better is when i had commission-based stylists right, they'll come in and they'll basically be giving clients service them and then they'll pay me and then i'll pay. My stylist out all right. So when it comes to commission-based stylists, they either have to come. You know experienced already, or you have to train them, to use your products or to do your technique or whatever i used to only train my styles for like seven days and like every time they had a question i'll answer or whatever like right over the client, Which is completely unprofessional? You know, according to the client's eyes and when it comes to other businesses, they literally train employees for 30 60 90 days. So they know that their employees know what they're doing you know, but i used to basically only give my stylist a seven day training period and then throw them to the wolves. Oh, so that's one thing i will never do again so another thing that i feel like i did really great on is even when one of my stylists effed up a client's hair like completely, i would never embarrass them. I would never make them feel bad about themselves, i'll, never get like angry at them. You know i would get frustrated but um. It wasn't like toward them like i didn't make them feel any lesser you know than themselves now. If they were scared of me, that's another story or they felt like. Oh, my god, i suck that's, not a story, but i never actually said anything to my stylist to make them feel any less of themselves all right. So one thing that i did bad, which i definitely could have done better, is my lack of communication. Okay, i had a shop manager and i basically put all the communication on her, which i felt like was pretty valid. You know, but sometimes my stylist needed questions from me. They wanted to talk to me, but i just made myself so unavailable sometimes and they will feel frustrated like my shop manager, couldn't answer all of their questions and concerns. You know, so that's one thing i'll do next time. If i choose to run a shop i'll, be more available for questions and i'll just be just more accessible to my own squad like come on now, so one thing that i know i did very well is: i gave my stylist freedom, okay, whether they took the Opportunity or not so you know them being a commission-based stylist that wasn't their only way of making money. They could actually pay me a certain amount to do unlimited clients on sunday, because you know i felt like yeah they're under galaxy girl, but they slowly have to start building their clientele and their own names up too. So i wasn't too selfish with the money or the clients like that and honestly, even if it was one of my old clients that didn't want to pay my price anymore, but they wanted to go to one of my stylists. I was okay with that too. I'M not stingy all right, you guys, so let's take a break from that shop. Talk real, quick and talk about this color all right, so we have our 360 wig on my mannequin head right now and we're going to part it out. So we can, you know, get the color exactly how we want it now. I don't want the color just on the nape area. I want it to go above and like over the ear, so you can like have that pick a color in the front, so we're going to make sure that we do this part above the sideburn all right. So now that it's nice and parted out, i'm realizing that this is like a lot of hair. We have to color like this is like half the wig. Now i kind of was expecting to do just like yeah, just a little bit of color at the bottom. Yeah yeah yeah, but i'm realizing like it's literally half the wig, but it's okay. So so i'm using bw2, bleach and clairol developer, i'm using a 40v or a shoe a 50v if the beauty supply store has it so after we apply this color very thoroughly. So we don't miss any spots, you know you don't want to rinse out your bleach and you see a whole bunch of black spots in it. That is disheartening. Okay, so make sure you do small parts make sure you comb through as you're. You know applying the bleach as well, so you can make sure that all the hair is separated and you're getting every single strand. Now we're going for a bright, hot, pink today, right, so we're probably gon na, have to do two processes of this bleach to get all the honey brown and like dark gold tones out of it, because if you try to put pink dye, especially semi-permanent dye over, Like honey brown, hair, it's going to turn red, but in my perfect world all you have to do is bleach hair one time and they can get all the way up to platinum. Now i'm not gon na lie. That happened to me one time in my life and it never happened again. Okay, it was like six seven years ago, but i put some bleach on some hair put some aluminum foil on it and i let it sit for like an hour and y'all. It turned platinum. Okay, i don't remember what hair brand that was, but that was the truth right there, so i definitely had to do two processes on this wig to get this type of color and i finally feel like it's good enough for the hot pink to actually show so Just how we did with the bleach you know, i want to make sure that every single strand is saturated with this color, because just how you can have cheetah spots when you bleach hair, you can have dirty looking uneven. You know crazy, looking color too, so i want to make sure the pink color gets on all the hair and there's no brown spots in between all right. You guys so the color is officially done. The wig is dried and y'all. This pink came out super bright and pretty, and even all the way around, so i'm excited all right. So i already did two coats of my liquid lace glue waited till it turned clear, but it's still nice and tacky. Now, let's stick this wig on now. It was a little bit disheartening to see that the wig came extremely small, so it didn't fully fit over her hairline. So what we had to do was leave a bunch of lace in front um and we're gon na have to like you know, disguise it and finesse it with our baby hair and with the styling. So that's just one little hiccup that i experienced with this install but y'all know easy. Breezy don't give up okay period now. One important thing that i feel like all stylists should do is make sure the wig actually fits before you cut the lace off and before you glue it down, because you need to know if you need to keep some lace or not now say, for instance, i Already cut the excess lace off before i tried to glue it on her head, i would have had to try to force that wig on her head. I would have had to you know, pull it to the front, stick it on the glue and it would have pulled back anyway so to alleviate all that pressure and all that pulling keep some lace on there. Alright, so i had ashley bend all the way over. So it's easier for me to put the hair in a ponytail and now i'm getting ready to glue the nape, and while i do this, let's go ahead and get back into our shop. Talk alright! So another thing that i did not do so well that i definitely could have improved on was bringing more traffic into my salon. Now my stylists were basically taking over my personal clientele, so i knew how to keep myself busy, but i didn't necessarily know how to keep a whole salon busy. So if i knew back, then what i knew now, i would have invested way more in advertisement just to pull people in the salon. Also, i would have offered way more services than just weaves and wigs because it kind of became like a weave shop, which is not a problem, but i don't know i just felt like i could have pulled more money into my salon. If i offered more than just installs, and not only that you know when there's more money circulating in a room, people are just happier like the vibes are just naturally just up all the time when everyone is making money so the times where we were slow and Everyone was kind of like dry and broke that week. You know i'm saying, even though my stylist always left with something. If we had no clients, they will still get paid by the hour. So but you know that's like the bare minimum, like you know, we come to make money money, you know not the bare minimum so yeah. I would have improved my marketing and advertisement skills. So another thing that i feel like i was really good at when i had my salon was unifying a team like when it comes to a group of people bonding and connecting yeah. I'M good for that, and i always try to make people feel special on like their birthdays or holiday times. Everyone would get gifts and we would have events and have the entire shop involved, like one thing that we did was have fun. Okay, if we do nothing else that day, we have fun, and you know, even though i say i'll - never go back to running a shop because it literally gives me trauma responses every time i think of it like i have real ptsd like can't go back, but I can definitely say there were so many good times like so many funny experiences and that's why i can do these shop talks and these story times. You know behind my hair videos, because i have so many stories from you guys. I did hair for 10 years and it's just endless stories like i can go on and on with these story times forever. Now i want to pause the shop talk again, real quick, so i can let you guys know what i'm doing now. I had to pull out a little bit more baby hairs than i would have normally, so it can be thick enough to cover up the lace, that's in front and y'all, probably can't even tell, but it's literally like a whole inch of lace in the front of Her hair before the hairline on the wig even starts and remember we kept all that lace on there, so i didn't have to forcefully pull the wig up just to stick it on the glue and risk it sliding back like a day after she had it on. So you know having too much lace but having a comfortable fit is better than having a wig. That'S going to slide off anyway, alright! So now it's time to put this hair into a ponytail. Now i'm trying to decide if we're going to do a high ponytail or a low ponytail. Now this is a 360 wig but mind you. There are tracks in the middle, so you know we still have to kind of finesse it and still have to disguise the tracks in a way where you can't see it, because if the hair goes up too high, the tracks will flip. And then you know the hair under the track will start poking out and it'll start to look lumpy, so we kind of have to be careful where we place this ponytail now i will admit: okay, that this is my least favorite part of doing ponytails is the Actual ponytail and the reason being is because, even though it seems like i got it in point two seconds in this video um yeah, i cut out so much footage. It takes me so long to get a perfect ponytail that actually looks neat and clean so yeah. I just had to express that alright, so i just went on a mini rant about how i really love and hate doing ponytails. At the same time now i'm doing the ribbon effect at the base of the ponytail. Now you know we could have been basic and we could have left it with the ponytail holder. But i'm like you know, ashley is letting me completely freestyle, so i'm like. Let me just do the most thing. Why not now? Not only do i got ta do the most okay, but i got ta do the most this. So after we did the ribbon on the base of the ponytail, i'm adding some gems. Now i don't know exactly how easy or hard it is. It'S gon na be to get this glue off, but hopefully she doesn't struggle too much alright. So, no doubt the gems are fire love it never seen it before period. That'S how we do on this channel so because i kind of want like a free-flowing kind of like just bed head hair done, but not done type of style, we're gon na curl, the back and comb it out at the end, all right. So we are officially done with those pin curls now i'm going to let them sit for a couple minutes, so they can cool off and get bouncy. Now, let's work on these baby hairs, so i'm using got to be glue. I wasn't even trying to fool with no foam this time, because i need the baby hairs to stick exactly where i need them to stick, because i need that lace, hidden, honey. So all right, looking good looking good! Now, let's go ahead and do the other side um? Okay, i am thoroughly impressed and relieved okay, because i'm not gon na lie. Y'All i was nervous. I was like um. This wig does not fit. What are we gon na? Do? I just spent all this time dyeing this hair, but we made it work because listen when you're working with wigs, which is basically a canvas and you as a stylist, is an artist there's, always something that you can do to manipulate it to finesse it to change. It and make it work eventually, alright, so the last time i did ashley's hair, we did a half up, half down style with the same type of like drop down swoop, bang situation, but i cut it right under her chin. So this time she says she doesn't want any of the length cut off. So we're just going to take this piece how it is curl it i may trim the ends. You know to get rid of the little scragglies, but that's it it's going to be a long bang all right, so we are almost at the very end and it's looking amazing, like my anxiety, has officially calmed down and i'm really confident about this hairstyle in this Wig, so i'm happy so right now, i'm using my spritz and my pink hot comb to create this hump, this little wave in front of the bang. So we can add some body there and let's go ahead and finish up this style all right, you guys. So we are done with this two-tone ponytail and i am in love to say the absolute least once again. Thank you so much my shiny wigs for sponsoring this video with their 360 unit.
