In this video I show you how to ventilate a hairline on a lace closure. I also go through my process to customize a manufactured lace closure.

I tell this to my students all the time a lot of my students like to ventilate in patterns, and the first thing I say when I see them doing that is show me someone's here who show me someone's hair that grows in a pattern. Hey it's. My quite a person - and I'm here with sort of a different video my face - will not be in the video, but my hands will be. I want to break down what I'm doing with this factory made piece. So if you look back here, you can see how these knots are. Okay, the nuts are ventilated in one line, and the holes in the lace are going vertical. Just like this, I prefer my holes and my lace to go horizontal, so I have to work with you know. Without what I have in front of me. I don't have a lot of options, so what I decided to do with this piece is remove the hair, where I want the parting to be so. I removed the hair in a middle section, because this particular wig is going to have a middle part and then what I did was after I removed the hair. I went back and ventilated what I wanted. The way I wanted it to be, and so for the most part throughout the back - it's not single strand, ventilated, it's one, two, sometimes three hairs in one hole, because this blonde hair is super. Super super fine. But what I really wanted to show you is hairline area that I'm coming up to now when you get to the hairline. You see here that I'm stopping my I'm stopping right here on this line. I'M gon na go all across stopping under Sun. I probably bring it down further here because for my hairline, you look over here to these little that these little knots here that hair is not as dense as it is through here, because I want to thin this hairline area out and you can see that direction Has changed right here, I'm a beginning to cross, not because I don't want everything to lay just like this. I want it to have more of a natural look, then what I'm going to do after that is I'm going to go through I'm going to color the piece and then I'm going to finish it off with making a hybrid wig. So I just want to show you. I just want to ventilate a couple strands, so you can see what I'm doing and see my strategy I'll, walk you through the process, as I'm doing it, so I'm gon na go off-camera, really quick and I'll be right! Back. Okay, so working in this hairline area, I'm just going to take one strand of hair and I'm very sporadically placing the hair to create the hairline. I tell this to my students all the time. A lot of my students like to ventilate in patterns - and the first thing I say when I see them doing that is show me someone's hair, who show me someone's hair. That grows in a pattern, and then they go. Oh so that that strand of hair that I had just now was SuperDuper fine, so it broke in the process of me knotting it. But thank you guys are probably hearing all kinds of noises. My dog might be downstairs. Barking or doors might be closing, but it's all good okay, so I'm just going to continue doing this across the front. To vary the look of that hairline. You do not want it to look, and if you look really really closely, you can't see those knots you do not want the knots to be visible. Okay. Now let me tell you about this lace number one. I cannot damn him this lace. I actually despise it because first of all nobody's hair is that nobody's scalp? Is that color? It'S like a. I don't know if some kind of ugly brown beige looking color nobody scalp is that color. I prefer to use my HD lace, this HD lace that I carry I've been carrying now for about two or three years before it's been a very long time that I've been carrying that lace. So I prefer to use that, but for the sake of time on this piece I did not want to go through and cut out the missing area. Little cut out a piece to then sew back into here, but I may end up doing that in the future. So I'm just going to continue doing this throughout the hairline and you see how it's creating that natural fall. So I have I notice when I manipulate the hair. I have a whole row of open space here, so what I normally do is go in and I'm super strategic with my placement, we'll just pull that one out I'd go in and I've been here going in different directions just to trick the eye. Okay. So I'm gon na continue doing this for the hairline and then I'm gon na go over here and finish, but I just wanted to show you this. I will check back in and show you the progress as it comes along and thanks. So much for watching and I'll talk to you soon.
