A look inside Africas wig industry and the types of hair products you can find at a market in Nigeria. This video takes us down the hair aisles of Balogun market located in Lagos Nigeria. This is like a live african market tour that shows hair creams, and products, and braids and wig culture in Africa. At this market in Nigeria you can find anything from straight wigs to curly wigs, to braided wigs, to creams to gels, and just about everything you could think of- and that's only the hair section! Balogun market is huge and has so much to offer besides cosmetics as well! I hope you enjoy getting to see this firsthand view of what it is like shopping in the hair sections of Bolagun market in Lagos Nigeria.

Hey guys, it's you me and welcome back to my channel. So today we have a really exciting video. I'M really excited for this video, actually we'll be doing like a walk down the hair aisle. It'S not really like an aisle but i'll walk down the hair section in bowel boom market and i'm with mimi again say hi. Will you introduce yourself? Yes, her, okay, chocolate melanin cheekbone face. You guys always comment about how beautiful she is we're about to go in. So, let's go anything for the, but when they see you they could fall down. Okay, it's all over yeah. So what is the price range of these types of wigs? Okay? So what if i want frontal luxury your best quality, this one is how much 60 60 000 naira okay - and this is high quality. Okay, what type of hair bouncy curl? Okay, okay, you can wet this! Naturally, okay, most of these spoiling, you can wet them or rub them. Naturally, okay, i like this. I can get more time: okay, okay, so what do people come in more for they'll, be depending on the season, but there's there's really nothing. We don't sell, but people really really really love your questions. There'S nothing! They don't sell double join our eggs that are pulled from top to bottom. If you look at the bottom at the top - okay, okay and this one's more expensive, okay, forty five thousand - oh, my goodness, okay - and how long do these wigs last usually good, because these are all surprising. So that's why the prices are more cheaper? Yes, actually so for like, for example, this double dollar you find the pot, but the issue about eggs that you know if you like, if you put all your frying pan, if you do not maintain it, there is no guarantee, that's going to last forever. Yeah yeah sure people buy a cheap pair for even like 30 or 20 six years. Yes yeah. I was even thinking like when i got these braids. I was like. Why did i get this braid i've been so hot? Yes, yes, so do wigs still are wigs. Still more popular than just doing braids, because i feel like to maintain this like. I prefer to do this when you get to between yeah but it'd, be just on you when you're out yeah, that's the advantage. Okay, people prepare with even when the fight is gone. Okay, so you two, you prefer wigs over braiding your hair. Really, i think one last time i actually fixed anything on my head was like maybe three years old. Why why that was easy, very easy: yeah, yeah! Okay, thank you so much and then so. She also was talking about how she sells these bundles. That she has, you said peruvian. Is that the only type you have pixie curls bouncy curls? Okay? So how much around how much for like 18 inch emptiness? Okay for one bundle or hopper? Okay? And that's enough to make one wig: okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, and then she also has the colored ones. I like these are these popular they. So a lot of people come from other countries, like other west african countries, come here to buy. Okay, that's really! Nice! Okay, so she just showed us her instagram page, so if you're ever in nigeria in the baugh need to come here and come check out, this store highly durable yeah. I know you know you, what do you sell the most relaxed the most see? I thought people were going natural. I thought people not that many people are using relaxer anymore. It'S moving more or less. Have you seen it more more really really, since when have you seen, it start growing more over a year, more people are buying relaxes. Do you know why there will be a time like air will be invoked? Sure you get, everybody will just be like hey it's trending. Let me go for it, so there will be a time. Cosmetics will be the one that is taking over okay, so the unless, like air, can take over like three years, then again, cosmetics take over again right now, most people are doing hair so something that they can use in treating their hair. Something like that dre! That'S! Why they are buying okay? So that's why all this likes our stuff is moving like that. So if a woman wants to win over a man, she should come buy these products from you. I don't know i have natural hair. What would you recommend that i buy? It depends right now. Some people are just like many people as they are. They have their own natural eye. So i have something for virginia habit for natural. I have virgin hair, so you can just buy leave-in conditioner just to make it soft something like that yeah, but for braids. I have like all this shine and jam. Okay, i actually need edge control. I think that's what i'll buy from you. You don't sell like raw shea butter raw, like you, only sell the packaged ones. Yeah that already made, i don't say something they made from. Maybe you asked, maybe someone has it in the market. I don't like find something that will be like seeing there yeah and yeah. You understand something that you actually you can use it to be like uh next time. Let me come to this show about reliable. You can always find it. Okay, that makes sense. Thank you, for i hope i didn't bother you too much. Thank you. So much. Okay, look! Okay out! Okay, wow! We just finished at baugu market. How do you feel very, very stressful, but i feel like we got really good footage. We were able to interview two people, one of them the first, the first two people that we really really asked. They actually both said. Yes, i'm happy. The first person was really really nice and she actually knew me from youtube beforehand, so that helped as well and then the second person was also nice but yeah. So i'm glad thank you so much mimi for coming along with me. Thank you. So you

Tolish Diva Empire: It was nice having you in my store, your channel is doing a good job in this docuseries.

Melanie Oyadina Smith: You're doing such a great job of showing the real culture of Nigeria. Going out to the market you just have to set your mind to deal with the crowds, same thing here in my country. Great vlog Seun

Apara: I love the women in the beginning of your video selling the wigs. She was so passionate about her job and had so much knowledge about each type of hair.

Funmike Afolabomi: Balogun market is so rowdy and stressful i love the fact that the first lady is so passionate about her Business and expressed herself well

Atai: Your braveness to record down town is amazing to me. In my country the fear of thieves is real i cant even try recording. By the way i love your content

Cocoa Sample: I'm just loving your video blogs. I've never been to Nigeria, but this makes me want to visit. It amazes me to see the people walking around with boxes, bowls, etc on their head. I'm thinking to myself..." If I tried that...everything would be on the ground" And the lady that was carrying items on her head and had bags in her hand ....wow.... Thank you so much for sharing

MoChiChi: Obssessed with this Nigeria series and i just binged all the chapters! It's really making me miss NIgeria like mad! I'm turning 18 next year so i hope i can visit for the first time in years.

prisilla kimani: Love this series! As a kenyan this has convinced me to definitely visit Nigeria....

TheDawnMelissa: I don't know why but for some reason this video had me feeling so emotional. In a good way. I think it's time for me to start exploring African countries.

Rebecca: your videos have always been different; even when it was just you being creative in front of the camera with a white background. I love the authentic looks at life and hair culture in Nigeria you been giving. I feel so grateful to live in the time of youtube and to have discovered your gem of a channel every moment watching these videos.

THE GREAT AWAKENING: These vlogs are so interesting and fun to watch.

Nelly O: Wow balogun market looks calmer now. Previously the crowd was always intense and bustling. Love the thrill, sights, sounds, intensity and camaraderie of lagos markets. Not isolating, boring, bland, unfriendly america! Not a single mask in sight! Rona aint got nothing on naija!!

Kemi .A.: Wigs in Nigeria are durable. I got one here some years ago and it only lasted two years. I used the one I got from home for twenty something years.

Wetesk53: You're doing the damn thing Seun, so proud of you ❤

MelodyKarw: I would feel so claustrophobic! I have been stuck in a Toronto subway station, at rush hour, and that feeling is very stressful. I imagine a busy market like that would feel the same.

Luving Life528: This needs to happen in the usa since we are the ones spending our dollars on the hair and beauty care products. I just want to jump into this video and be around my own people. I will take the crowd and all. Thank you for sharing I love all of your videos

Buwame Chingwe: I really enjoyed watching this. It's so relatable to the lifestyle in my country Zambia.

SMOOTH OPERATOR: I don't care for long flights, but you have definitely inspired me to go to Nigeria's marketplace. Thank you.

funkyredhead1: Great footage. Love how knowledgeable the wig shop lady was about her product - my type of shop owner! And the guy in the hair product shop, so observant - my kind of sellers!

Nubian Legend: Seun these your videos take me right back to Nigeria. I recognised Balogun market as soon as the video started although I forgot the name ‍♀️‍♀️. All those places you went to and went through, took me right back to when I used to go there frequently. I never knew I could miss that place but you made me feel like wanting to go back for a bit. #NoPlaceLikeHome. Thanks Seun for bringing a bit of Nigeria to us that are far from home.

Kiana Dea: I always love watching your videos about Nigeria! It’s always hard to find good content that’s related to Nigeria. Keep it up☺️

cecile turner: Ms.Seun I love your vlogs, they are so insightful. I'm grateful for all of your hard work. I have learned so much. I did the big chop about 2 years ago. I've never experienced braids, wigs or weaves. There is a world of hair that I've never known. As always I look forward to to seeing your next video. Take care.

Orryana: I so LOVE your vlogs! These kinds of videos make me feel like I'm there with you lol

RuthAnne MacKinnon: I really enjoy videos that give an idea what other county's cultures are. I would love to see a video about dating & marriage in Nigeria

Erica: I LOVE a good wig, I really do, wigs are so much fun! BUT I really wish Black women would stick to wigs (and braids) that match our own straightend and natural hair textures. That's my pet peeve about Black wig wearing.

CHINONYELUM NWAKANMA: Beautiful Seun with your beautiful smiles❣️ Thank you for this free tour round the market Am I the only one that misses that clicking sound at the beginning of her videos when S E U N is spelt out?❤️❤️ I literally mimic that sound whenever I view her videos #BringBackOurClickingSounds Beautiful Seun❣️

Ife Hansson: Balogun market like most Nigerian markets are chaotic and crowded and certainly not for the claustrophobic. The fabric section in Balogun is so good though.

GRACE Bethel: I love love seeing downtown! Was raised in such streets & all Glory to God. Bless the people there! Thx for this video

Opeoluwa Onafuwa: I always look forward to your videos. I truly enjoyed watching this. The virus has slowed down here in Nigeria while it's difficult to maintain social distancing in a traditional market there are some places that still enforce wearing of masks and social distancing. For example, my workplace.

The Favour Ama: Her hair is so cheap. I’m definitely going to locate her storeee!

PJJ BOSS-VLOG: I'm really loving your vlogs. Much love from Trinidad and Tobago always

Lauren James: I love this whole series Seun!!!

Igbocurls Chinwe Juliet: I loved this Seun! I don't know how you dealt with the crowd though, I can't stand it .

IMNELSONJ: I just love how her braids just shines through ✨

Blackberry- Rose: Wow the market looks like it’s super busy. It looks like they have all kinds of merchandise as well. The lady with the wigs is very knowledgeable very reasonable priced beautiful wigs and bundles. Enjoyed the vlog Thank You for sharing home with us.

Obioma Obu: Thank you for sharing Seun…I am definitely getting my next wig from the First Lady..

k hunter: Thank you for showing parts of Nigeria

kersha jo: The more you show, the more I want to visit. About to start my healthy hair journey again. Any tips?

Yolanda Garza: Beautiful wigs, beautiful women Love from Texas USA❤

Ayeni Oluwakemi: Seun your new braids really suits you real well. Think both are beautiful

Omotola Adegoke: Intriguing vlog Seun, well done! No idea why double drawn hair would cost more though and to the value of $120? It might just be me, but in my perception it looks less natural, very wiggy / fake. Anyhow, great to see the entrepreneurial spirit over there, I appreciate their commercial mindedness. Nice busy market vibe.

AnietieDeborah: Girl you need to show us how you got here because I don't even know this part of Lagos market. Great video

BajeBeauty: Omg look at that street! I’ve never seen anything like it I rock my natural hair now but I would still be in heaven seeing all that hair lol. I can’t resist a good wig lol
