What'S up, you guys welcome back to my channel, so today we're going to be doing a wig install! Everyone has been going crazy over this 90s inspired layered hair that i put in, and i'm going to show you guys exactly how i got it. So, as you can see, i look crazy. This wig looks a mess and we need to take this off asap. Okay, like this is a no-no, so today i'm going to be working with kendra's, hair boutique, and this is a full lace wig that i got from kendra's, hair boutique and it is body wave and i believe it is a 26 or 24 inch, so off camera. I colored this wig and i also tinted the lace which is bleaching the knots i colored this wig a jet black and i used the adore hair color. I did the watercolor method, but i didn't show that part. So i'm just going to show you guys the install in the cut so first things. First, i'm going to put on a wig cap. This one is kind of small. I got it from amazon, i don't know um but yeah. I have some really old braids under my wig cap, so i wasn't going to show y'all that, but i have on this wig cap and i am going to be gluing this wig cap down so first things. First, i'm going to cut some holes in the wig cap, so my ears can stick out. This is also going to help us. You know lay the sides down the sideburn part, because that is like a really tricky part when you're putting on wigs - and i just want to clarify - i'm - not a professional. I just install my own wigs a lot of the times, especially since covet, so i'm just showing you guys my technique, and you know what i learned myself over the years. So today i'm going to be using boldhold product and this is liquid gold and i am going to be using this to lay down my wig cap. So, as you can see, i smelled this product and it had no strong smell like whatsoever, and that basically told me. I had no strong chemicals, which is amazing for my skin, because i have really sensitive skin and sometimes when i'm laying down wigs and stuff the products can break me out. So this was actually really really really good on my skin and i'm really really really surprised and i love it now. The way i would describe this liquid gold is almost in between hair, gel and glue. It has a really strong hold and i hear that you can use this liquid gold for glueless wigs, and i think i'm going to do that in my next tutorial. Just because i feel like a lot of tutorials, i use glue, and you know my skin is really sensitive. Just like many of you and i want to show you guys some ways that you can wear wigs and not have to glue it down for a whole week or you know if you want to wear a wig for just 24 hours. This product is amazing, so i'll definitely do a video on that coming up so make sure you guys subscribe, because i'm going to be posting that very soon. So if you want this liquid gold or any of the products, i'm using make sure you check my description box um, because it's going to be down below and yeah. We can move on to the next step so to speed up the process of the liquid gold drying down. I'M just going to use a blow dryer, and i put this on high heat, and while i do this, my lace was coloring. So i'm basically doing two things at once. I love when that happens. So here is my wig color jet black and the knots are bleached and it's time to get it pop in this wig is phenomenal. It bleached so quick and so well. The lace is super duper thin, but not too thin to where it's just gon na rip um. So i really love this hair by kendra's boutique. This is kind of like the only hair that i do wear if i'm not wearing like my own vendor's, hair um. So yeah we're gon na be working with this. Look how amazing it looks. I love it so now i'm going to start plucking um, i'm not a professional, so i just plug you know i just do what i can do and do it. How i do it and i do what i does period um, so i'm gon na, pluck this wig to what i like and what i see um. I don't have no specific method. I learned a lot from some of my friends and some of my hair stylists. So this is the wig before before i started plucking, and this is me plucking after and basically what i learned was to never stay in one spot um. I have did some wigs before and i created bald spots and it was really bad and, as you can see, this looks much better than what it did before, but i still have a lot to do so. I'M just going to make sure i you know, get that front and make sure it's not stiff and really bold. One thing i do love about kendra's wigs is that they're really easy to plug um. I don't know why it feels really easy with her wigs, but you also have to be careful because when it's easy, that's how you can create easy, bald spots. So now we're going to move back onto the wig cap and the liquid gold has dried down. So now i'm going to cut off the x's um wig cap that is not glued down, and you know i really like this liquid gold actually like. I think i'm going to use this moving forward. This was actually my first time using it. So i'm really really happy with it. I actually like it more than any other product that i use to lay down my wig caps because it actually sticks this time, like sometimes my wig caps be coming up and doing all types of stuff it'd be crazy. So now i'm going to color my wig cap to be my skin color and i'm going to be using the benefit. Hula bronzer - and this is in the color caramel, i'm just taking a huge makeup brush and i'm literally just gon na, like pat that in so even though we did bleach our knots, i am going to be using the boldhold lace tint, and this is in the Color caramel i'm going to use this all over the lace inside the lace so that the scalp looks like my skin. Everything looks like skin. We need it all to look like skin. This is the color of it on a little swatch pad and i'm gon na put this wig on and watch how this looks you guys like that looks like my scalp is giving scalp look. How excited i was. It was so nice, i loved it, and i was really excited about it and at this point i knew i was about this latest wig. So i put my hair back and now i'm going to start to lay down my wig, where i want it to be and usually how i do this. I lay down my wig in sections, so i'm cutting little sections of my lace um i like to do flat by flap. If you understand what i'm saying, i'm creating flaps right now by cutting into the lace, but one thing for sure is i'm not cutting all the way to the hairline, so be sure that you're not cutting all the way to the hairline, because you might not know How much lace you're going to need near the hairline so to lay down my wig, i'm going to be taking the bold hold active glue, this the lace glue? I love this glue so much it's the active version. So so, basically, what i did is i took a popsicle stick and used a thin layer of the active glue and i put down um one layer right in the middle of my forehead. I'M gon na do my sides later. That'S how i was taught so i'm gon na do the front of my forehead and then i'll do my size later and i'm going to be putting multiple layers of this glue onto my head. This is the active version, which has a really really really strong hold and us put in multiple layers is going to really make it strong and really hold so this wig is going to be on for a week and a half. Probably so. I waited till that glue got really clear and then i put another layer. I only put two layers just because i don't want this wig to be on too long. Just because i have halloween makeup looks to do for you guys but um. If you was to put about three or four layers - oh my god, it would be on honey on and pop in. So now i'm going to take the wig and i am going to lay it exactly where i want it to be. Um just like the norm and i'm gon na take the back of my comb and make sure that that wig is stuck into that glue and i'm gon na really push that in and make sure it's like secure. And this is where the flaps are important, because i'm able to lift some parts up if i didn't get enough glue there or if i just need more glue since i have a really big forehead um. So i have to do my sides a little bit more and just up in, like my uh, my side area, just a little bit more, so i'm gon na do that and i'm gon na wait for that to dry. The great part about this glue is that it dries really really fast and it's super duper tacky. So that means it's gon na have a really strong hold um. So now i'm just laying down those sides and just making sure that you know they're in place. Sometimes the sides are the hardest part. I'M not sure why. Sometimes they don't stick, but you know, thank god, thank god. They stuck this time because this wig was flawless and i needed it to be perfect, so to make sure that wig is really really really secure and that glue is really on there. We'Re going to tie our wig down, i'm just going to be using this elastic band and i'm going to make sure this is really really tight for about like 10 or 15 minutes, and this is just gon na make sure that our wig is like melting into That skin, so, while we're waiting for our wig to melt into our skin, i'm going to blow dry this hair, i want it to be straight, so i'm gon na make sure that it's really straight while i'm blow drying. Since this is a body wave, texture um, sometimes i like to air dry. But honestly, i can never get it too too straight. If i don't blow dry first, like blow drying is a must when you need bone straight hair, so, okay, so we're finally done blow drying, and i'm about to take this elastic band off and honey. Look at that that is like my skin. This is my hair. This is not even a wig, so before i cut the lace off, i'm just going to make sure that my part in the middle is straight just i don't know why this kind of gives me a direction of where to cut my lace. I don't know it's kind of weird, but this is just how i work and i'm going to be using kendra's boutique hot um. This is a fl i'm using the flat iron and the hot comb, and this hot comb is amazing. It gets really hot up to 500 degrees. This is the best hot comb i've ever used and it gets my hair really flat. So i'm just making sure everything is flat before i cut that lace off so now to cut my lace off, i'm not going to be using scissors, i'm going to be using an eyebrow razor. You can find these at any beauty. Supply store, walmart walgreens target literally anywhere, and i don't know why, but for some reason these eyebrow razors make your lace blend seamlessly like it's like literally your skin. As you can see, you can't like look at that. That is like crazy, okay, um. I mean, i know why it makes it like that. Sometimes, when you cut lace in a straight edge um, it doesn't really blend as well. So when you cut it in a jagged edge which the eyebrow razor gives us it blends into our skin or whatever, even if you was to cut hair, so i'm just gon na cut that lace cut that lace and it's. This is just my hair. At this point like this is not a wig okay, this is not a drill. So now i'm going to go in with my tweezers and just pluck a little bit more um. Sometimes there's places i feel like i didn't get on a wig head on. A wig head is very different than it being on your head. My sides were a little too bulky for me, so i just went in with the tweezers and thinned it out a little bit. So now i'm going to take some hair out in the front, and this is going to be for our baby hairs. You don't want to take too much hair out, but you want to take enough. If you don't even use that much hair, you can always push it back, but just make sure you don't take out too much so i'm using the hot comb to just flatten these baby hairs so that they don't fly back into my wig and they can. You know go that way that baby hairs are supposed to go. So yes, i'm doing this all around my head and we are going to have some baby hairs, honey, okay! So now i'm using that same eyebrow razor and i'm just going to just cut the baby hairs down. I like to do it in sections, so i like to cut it out where it's still kind of long and then i like to cut it short just so. I can see what i'm doing, because i'm not a professional, so i don't like to do too much quick. I wish i was a professional though like i need to really get this down pack um, but i think i got a good enough for me to be doing my own hair at home. You know um, but yeah once you learn these techniques of you know doing it yourself, and sometimes you have to do it in slower steps. Then you'll be your own type of pro. So now i'm going to use the nairobi setting mousse and i'm going to use this on my baby hairs, i'm going to put a little bit on my baby hairs and we are going to do our baby hairs now. It takes me a really long time to do my baby hairs. It probably takes like 30 to 40 minutes to get it perfect, and you know just how i want it to be. I like to use gel and edge control, but i like to use a nairobi. First, just because the nairobi makes the hair really soft and move how exactly you want it to move rather than it being gel first, and you know it gets stuck and now you can't really do anything with it and it has all this product on it. The nairobi mousse set in mousse is just very different um. I recommend using this first and then you know securing the um baby hairs down with gel, so i finally got them how i wanted and i'm really technical about my baby hairs, because i don't want them to look like too much and i don't want them to Look, i just don't want them to look crazy, okay, so my baby hairs have to literally be a certain way, so i finally got it down pack, and you know you see how it's like really detailed. I keep doing the same strand over and over um, but i'm finally finished and we're going to move on to the next step and that is going to be cutting the hair and doing the layers. So basically, what i'm going to be using is this razor comb that i got from the beauty supply store. This is how i'm going to cut my hair, i'm not a skilled hair stylist, so i'm not going to be using any type of scissors. I am only going to be using this razor comb, so i'm going to show you guys how i did it on one side. I am going to take the thinning part of the razor comb, so it's two parts of it there's one part where the teeth are really spread apart and that's the part that actually cuts the hair there's another side of the razor comb that the teeth are super Tiny and super together - and this is the part of thin in so basically, what i'm going to do is i'm going to use the thin inside first, just because i'm really scary and i'm nervous, and i'm just going to make sure i cut that side down to The side my other side to match my other side and i'm still using the thinning part and then i'm going to flat iron and i'm doing flat iron in first before i do my layers, because this allows me to see where i need to put my layers. Um, the hair is blow dried, so it has a lot of texture to it and it's still super duper thick, so i'm just gon na make sure it's flattened down to how i really want it. So now that my hair is super duper flat and bone straight, i'm going to take a really small part of the front part of my wig and i'm still going to use the thin inside. Just because i'm really nervous about cutting my hair and just making sure. I do it right, so i'm basically just thinning out the front of my hair and just making it super like thin in the front and then i'm going to cut it. I'M going to use the cut inside as you can see, and it just literally chopped it off. Okay, it chopped it off, so i'm now using the thin inside. I wasn't really scared anymore and i started to see my layers come together and got. I got a little brave, so i got some courage: okay, so now i'm going to go on the other side and also use the cut inside of the razor comb and basically how i'm going to cut this hair is in a diagonal form. So going from the front of my wig to the back is going to be from the top to the bottom, like literally diagonal, so i'm taking the front part of my hair again and i am going to cut it a little bit more um. Just because i wanted some layers right under my chin, like that's, where i measured it at so i'm gon na just you know, cut and cut until i feel comfortable and i'm just gon na make sure it goes in the diagonal form like so so, as you Can see the haircut is starting to come all the way together. This is a hairstyle all the 90s girls wore um, hence the music in this video. I hope you guys noticed that i tried to create. You know that 90 sound um, but now i'm going to use my kindred boutique flat iron and i'm just going to make sure i flatten that, but also bump it just a tiny tiny bit just so it can have that 90s bump. And you know that 90s curve - and this is how it came out um. This is my hair. This was the finished product. I didn't get any video of me with makeup on, but i think this hair looks amazing. The way it flows and the way it falls is literally like natural hair. I was kind of going for that dominican kind of blowout, a little bit oh yeah, and also last step. I added a tiny, tiny, tiny bit of pink lotion, just at the top. Just so that my flyaways can go away and i can have a little bit of shine but yeah. I was kind of mimicking that 90s hairstyle. That kind of like dominican blowout. I really wanted like a natural look. I always do like 40 inch and i'm really tired of it. So i'm really really really excited about this hair. I hope you guys enjoyed all the products that i use are going to be listed down below and if you decide to follow my tutorial and create this look, make sure you guys tag me, because i would love to see it and comment on your pictures. Um. This looks like i got ta blow out right. Oh my god, i'm like obsessed but yeah. Thank you guys so much for tuning in make sure you subscribe. I love you so much and i'll see you in the next video
