Hey guys welcome back to my channel, it's natalie mary here if you are new, be sure to subscribe before you leave in today's video, i'm going to be sharing some of my tips and secrets on how i conceal my bald spot yeah we're going to get into That, in a moment, also, if you have no edges or if you deal with hair thinning, i'm going to share with you guys a few tricks that i use in order to help out those areas of my edges that are not as cool as i'd like right. Now i just have on a head wrap and my edges are not slicked down as nicely as i'd like. So i'm going to show you guys how i do that, while installing a headband wig, some of you guys have shared with me that you often experience tension when installing a headband wig. So i'm going to show you guys how to install it properly so that you have the least bit of tension possible. The one that i'm going to show you guys today is from icy hair, my first ever headband wig, which wasn't actually considered to be a headband wig. At the time i had it made using icy hair. I believe i use their kinky curly texture and a lot of companies. I feel like probably made the headband wigs as a result of seeing me with a pre-made half wig that i wore headbands over. So this is the one that i'm going to show you all today, it's in a loose, deep wave texture and it's inlet 20.. So this is what the texture looks like right on the package. It'S so gorgeous, and i feel like this is a really nice texture that you can wear right out of the package, whether your hair matches this texture or not. I'M going to show you guys how i would install this unit and make it blend with my type 4 hair. This is what the cap construction looks like you, have your headband in the front, there's a velcro attachment in the back. You all know the typical standard construction of a hair band wig. So this is what it looks like in the back. There are combs on the inside and i believe i did get a medium or an average cap size. Now i haven't actually gotten my edges together. Yet this is how my edges look after having my hair pre-styled, so i need to actually fix them. You can kind of see some residue from the gel that i use, but we're going to get that together. So i just have my hair and a little ponytail in the back. It'S not done nicely at all all right, so i'm going to put my stocking cap on first, but before i do that, i want to show you guys where my ball spot is, and this is a very transparent moment. I didn't think i would show you guys this, but i feel like it's going to help somebody so that you can see that my hair is not perfect by any stretch, and i deal with different issues too, so you might see a little bit of white residue. That'S just from the jail and i'm just going to spray some water over that to help dissolve that cast, but here's my bald spot. It'S completely bald in that area. Hair no longer grows there. You know i put a lot of gel in my hair, so it's flaking up so much all right. So we're really friends now for me to show you guys something like that. We'Re like besties at this point, that's something that i keep covered very well. Thankfully, my ball spot is in an area where, if i part my hair down the middle, i can still conceal where it's located, and i also typically part my hair on the right side. So i don't have to worry about potentially having that bald spot exposed. Now, before some of you guys come for me in the comment section and say we, except for my hair out blase blase y'all, it's not the wigs. I'Ve had this bald spot for a long while now i probably had it for about 10 plus years. It actually happened from wearing micro braids, so if you're somebody who goes to the salon and gets your hair braided and they braid way too tight, you risk getting a bald spot or having thinning along your edges, so be conscious of that. When you guys get your hair, braided or twisted, don't allow the stylist to braid your hair or twist your hair way too tight. So whenever i go to the salon now i make sure up front. I tell them: don't bring my hair too tight and if i feel the slightest bit of tension, i'm saying something so y'all learn from my experience. Don'T let that happen to you make sure you speak up, say something about it, because you will um yeah potentially get a bald spot and we don't want that to happen and also when you're wearing your protective styles like hay band, wigs, make sure you're installing them Properly, so i'm going to show you guys how i do that, so i don't experience any tension and really great products. I actually have three products that i'm going to show you guys that i use in order to conceal my bald spot in the event that it does show a little bit. I also have a little bit of thinning in this area and it's probably because i part my hair down the middle a great deal so that could contribute to it. My hair is not as full in this little area right here, so i'm going to show you guys what i do. I also have quite a few gray hairs in this area, which you probably can't see because of the white cast from the gel that i put on and also because i've used some of the products that i'm going to show you guys. But we're going to get to all of that. I want to show you guys what this unit looks like installed: first, okay, so i'm gon na spray water on my hair. First now, when i slip my hair down for the previous install and i'll put that on the screen, now i use eco styler gel and i also use got to be glue in the yellow bottle. Now i like to use both of these when i want a really strong hold, and these gels are so good for type 4 hair now, because i already have both of these in my hair, i'm just going to apply more of the eco styler gel. Let me put on my stocking cap first ready to watch. You ready now get ready. Do it like that now too, all right! So now i'm going to use a fine-tooth comb as well as a baby hair brush in order to mold my hairline. The way that i want it bump up that bpm and let's go let's go looking so frustrated ain't. Seen nothing like this. Now, i'm so fantastical right now my edges look a mess, but bear with me i like to use my satin scarf in order to wipe off some of the white residue and that really helps to clean it up, and once you actually put your satin scarf over Your hairline and allow it to set for about 5-10 minutes that helps the gel to dissolve but be sure that you're applying water prior to adding more gel welcome to the brand new future. So this is a really good way to refresh your hairline. If you don't have time to wash your hair - and i do this a lot and as you can see, my bald spot is peeking through just a little bit. But i'm going to show you guys what i do to hide that and i feel, like this method works better with a satin scarf versus a cotton towel, or something like that. So just keep that in mind. If you have a satin scarf or just anything made of satin that you really don't use a lot, then use that, in order to clean up the gel all right. Now that our edges look slightly normal again, i'm going to install the headband wig, and i want to show you guys how i do it so there's no tension now. This headband wig does not have a comb at the top, but most hair band. Wigs do have a comb there, so i'm just gon na use the combs on the side and the one in the back now. What i would typically do when installing a headband wig, is take the comb at the top and just slide it under where the stocking cap is so. I would lift the stocking cap here and then the comb that's generally here. I would just tuck it under here and then just place the stocking cap down. So then you don't have to worry about inserting it straight into your scalp or anything, and there would not be any tension and it won't move because your stocking cap is tight enough and it's gripped to your head, so it'll keep it in place. I'M just going to pull the headband down and then the comb on the side we're just going to tuck that under and do the same thing to the other side, all right now, you're pretty much done. I just like to fluff out the hair by finger combing. You ready you're ready these curls look so good right out of the package. I love that this is a unit that you don't have to do a lot of work to you can pretty much just take it out of the package and just throw it on now. I like big hair, but if you do not, you could just leave the curls as they were all right, so i think i fluffed it out enough. So this is what it looks like now. Let me show you guys some of my secrets now, my gray hairs are not as pronounced as they typically are, because i sprayed some of this on my roots yesterday and it's called the magic root cover up actually found this on amazon. I was in search of something that could help me with these gray hairs. I do have a salon appointment already scheduled so that i can get my grades covered, so i'm gon na get my hair dyed a natural black, but in the meantime i found this product by l'oreal. This is what it looks like up, close and y'all. It'S a lifesaver alright, so let me show you guys how i do it. I actually have three different products that i want to show you guys, so i'm going to use them in different areas of my hairline, so the first one i'm going to use in this area right here. This is where my grays are, but you can actually use it in areas where you might have balding or thinning as well. It says that you're supposed to spray it about six inches away from the area where you want to conceal your grays. Now you don't want to spray too close, because it's going to look super dark and it's going to look unnatural and you see how some of it kind of transferred right there. But don't worry about that. I could also use it here, but i'm going to use another part there just go in with that satin scarf again and just clean it up, and that looks much better. You could also use this product if you're trying to cover up any white residue. You might have so you see how over here you can still kind of see a little bit of the white. I could spray it there too, and it would help - and i like to do this before i put my satin scarf over my hairline in order to set it now this next product. I recently discovered it - is so bomb y'all, i'm so happy. I found this one and it's called the kiss edge fixer this one i got in a natural black and it says it's maximum hold. I actually saw rayna happy curl, happy girl post about this, and i was like. Oh my goodness. I need to go straight to amazon and find this stuff. This product is so so good y'all and it's so easy to work with now. This is what it looks like. I got mine in a natural, black and y'all. This is so good for those who have fitting edges. Let me tell you so in these areas, where my hairline looks a little sparse, which mine is really due to my hairline, not being structured round. I have a square hairline, so in this area i'm not supposed to have any hair there. I just typically pull hair out and create baby hair, but that's not really how my natural hairline is, but any areas that i feel like are a little sparse. I just filled them in with the edge fixer, so i just put a little bit. You don't need too much, or else it's going to look unnatural and it goes on like an edge control which is so so cool. You see how i fill this area in and it doesn't look natural and it looks like it's overly filled in you just want to take your comb and go over it and just smooth it out, and i like to use the comb to also make my scalp Look more visible, so then it looks a bit more natural all right and then i'm gon na take the jail and just go over that area all right now in this area, where you can see a little bit of my bald spot taking more of this product, I'M gon na fill that in all right now i do like to use the edge fixer in this area too. Now. I would typically use this product in this area here as well as over here as well, but for the sake of showing you all different products, i'm going to show you all this one in those areas - and this is called topic - and this is hair building fibers. It doesn't come with this dispenser, but i'd highly recommend getting this because i feel like it helps to focus the fibers in the areas that you want to fill in. So when using this product, you just spray it in the areas that are a little sparse and i'm actually just going to use it here and maybe over here and i'll, probably use the edge fixer right. You just want to use there comb in order to manipulate the product and it does look a little dry when you place it on. Like you see how that looks, i don't know if you can tell, but it looks like it's a little dry, so i feel like the gel, helps to give it a more natural sheen. Now i don't feel like the way that it looks. Right now is very natural, so i'm going to use my satin scarf as i share with you guys earlier, and we want that scalp to peek through a little more and then i'm gon na apply some jail over there. We go all right now for this area. Oh, let's use the topic over here and you don't want to press it too hard because too many of the fibers will come out so just lightly press. The top of this little round portion ready all right. I feel like that, looks much better you all. Let me know: have you all tried any of these products? Will you be trying them i'll, be sure to link everything that i mentioned down in the description box? My favorite is actually this one all right now that i've concealed those grays we've hidden, that bald spot and also filled in the hairline. So the density looks more full now we're ready to add the heavy. Oh, this is cool. It says christian dior is this real? Probably not, but i'm gon na wear it. I think it's cute all right now that i've changed my outfit and i've allowed the hair to set for a little bit. I'M gon na take off my satin scarf. Hairline looks great now, let's put on this little head, wrap ready to watch all right. I am experiencing a bit of resistance with this hair and i feel like once i actually condition it. It won't feel like this also to give the hair more definition. You can actually call it around your finger, so just take small sections and begin to coil and it creates a really nice spiral. Curl ready now show you what i do now cause. I don't think you're ready now ready, get ready wow. I like this texture, so much more after doing the coils, it looks so amazing all right, y'all, that's the end of this video. I hope you all thoroughly enjoyed it be sure to like comment and subscribe. Also check the description. I have all the links to specifications for this unit, as well as all the products that i mentioned to help out. Those with no edges, thinning, edges or even false spots, like me, be sure to follow me on instagram. If you haven't already as well as follow me on tiktok, i love you guys and i'll see you all in my next tutorial. Bye, guys ready to watch

Tianna DeLaurentiis: Thanks for sharing and keeping it ! We all have issues and sometimes we don’t know what to do, so thanks for offering a solution and options!! Love you for always being you❣️

Mellie Grant: I literally just said to my sister last week (we both watch your channel), I wish she would do a video about how she slicks them edges down and here it is You are amazing! I am into Headband wigs right now and your tips have been a God sent. The combs under the wig cap?! GENIUS ❤️

Regina Moise: I have 4C hair and I go through ups and downs with it! I've dealt with every issue that you've had! Thank you for keeping it

Cece E.: This happened to me but it was from the front Combs on a wig. Thanks for sharing really love your channel

Courtney Viola: Hi Mary, literally the EXACT same thing happened to me in December. I would recommend going to a dermatologist. I began treatment and my hair started to come back!

Patricia Mcmoore: Thank you Mary for being transparent and helping us

Ivy Gibbons: I had three bald spots in my head like that went to the dermatologist and it was a mild case of alopecia. I don't wear weave or anything like that so it wasn't due to any hair styles. They gave me a steroid gel to put on my hair twice a day and within 6 months the hair start growing back.

Tamyia Turner: ♥️I’m actually early for once & your hair looks great!!! Back in 2015 I got a bald spot from wearing wigs ( from the tension), and I haven’t wore one since then, smh. I was able to grow it out with the help of Jamaican black castor oil & another growth oil. Then in 2018 I got another one from wearing high puffs & the tension against my scalp from the hair tie. Since I’ve been natural I have become so tender headed, but I love being natural.

Winifred JPittman: Love it, you make it look so easy!

Sanora Snell: I have a bald spot in that same exact spot, because of box braids. My hair never grew back and it’s been at least 6 years now. Thank you for being so transparent! ❤️

ForGodILive4GodIDie: Thanks for the tips! I developed a bald spot in the middle part on top of my head. I wore 2 diff headband wigs back to back for 2 months. It was due to the top comb. Once I noticed, I stopped inserting it into my hair. Next time, I'll just remove the comb. Thanks again for the tips.

amarie8769: This came just in time. I just purchased my first headband wig. I will be wearing it for the first time tomorrow. Thank you.

Pyt G: Your reviews are so informative! Much appreciated! This unit is so pretty!...And those coils!! Tfs

Barbara Allen: Totally agree with you, I don't let anyone braid my hair too tight! I also don't use the combs in my wigs. Tension is the enemy for me.

Anita De La Cruz: My wig caps must be too small because they roll back off my head. Thanks for your vulnerability you're a sweetheart...always have been. You give great tips!

Lina Lina: Consequently, you’re still beautiful and natural with your “bald spot” (smile) and thank you for sharing that “personal “ information ‼️ You’re (not ) alone concerning that hair issue ‍♀️‼️ Someone did mention seeing an Dermatologist ‼️ However, you did shared where the balding being ‼️ So continued and keep bringing these wonderful hair units tips and fashions videos ‼️

Precious Beautyj: Great video, thanks so much for your transparency. I’ve got a bald spot also but I believe mine is from the stress of when my husband was sick n dying. Hopefully it’ll grow back, in the meantime, I’m wearing wigs. Waiting on the Lord for total guidance. You are gorgeous w/without the bald spot n thin edges. Favored of God. Hope you’re having a blessed Good Friday.

Melisia Bowman: Fabulous as usual!!! And they'll never know about the thinning spot....only those of us that watch this video know and we will never tell! Love the grey hair cover-up options

Rita C.: Thanks for the tips Mary! I will definitely try the edge gel as I have thin edges as well. That wig was !

Theresa Forte: Pretty! I love the ringlets you formed! Thx for the tips I’ll need to get me the edge control one you used! Girl no judgments here for your transparency!

Tiffany Raye: I had the SAME type of spot on the same side!!!! My edges were thinning too. Mine was because of all the gel I was using for my slick ponytails. It took all of last year for bald spot to grow back. My edges aren't as thick, as they were previously but they are filling back in. I decided to start going to the salon twice a month for wash, conditioning and corn rolls (rows). My hair is much more healthy!!!

lakisha mcghee: Your videos are so informative thank you for teach us so much.I really just started watching your videos you always deliver. This is your calling controlling your own platform

Shelley Hicks: Thank you for sharing this I thought I was the only person with a bald spot in my head but mine is from having a person putting a ponytail in my hair with the clips and they put it down into my scalp and this happened 10 years ago so now I don’t have any hair in that area, so I have discovered a headband wig also and thank you for showing me how to wear them properly with any tension.

Pam V: I am shocked, say what. I can't believe it. You are doing so well as with your hair. I remember you getting it flat iron the growth you had was so good. I still love your hair, and the texture.✌️

G Zeno: Love the tip about putting combs under your stocking cap, I don’t like using the combs and was looking for a work around. I discovered Toppik years ago and used it for awhile. Didn’t know about the dispenser. Thanks fir sharing

Author Lydia Green: You always make it look so easy. I have no patience . I have been natural for 6 or 7 years and I just keep two strand twist because if I wear my hair free out it will tangle I am a 3b 3c with low porosity, I guess if I had normal porosity my hair wouldn’t tangle.

Linda Wright: Thank you Queen; my edges are thin and a bald spot in my middle part. I am mature woman, my hair is fine and 4c type. I will be trying the last one you showed.

Myrna Stallworth: Brilliant! Thank you so much for the comb tip!

Ebizzill: when i moved back with my folks, you already know... my hair started shedding uncontrollably, and the week after i settled in, i saw a bald spot right where yours is now... ugh... i learned that my hair grows very slowly, so i've been trying to incorporate more ayurvedic practices to help it, I've never blended aloe vera this much in my entire life.... my whole room is a darn apothecary at this point for mixing up so many butters to try to nourish my dry hair that doesnt seem to want to stay moisturized... yo.. guard your space and your peace... it actually does a number on your hair.

JT: Girl you are so gorgeous and you are a balding, thinning edges, cover up Queen!

Yapah Yadayah Yasharahla: Beautiful as always Sis! Also, I had severe alopecia areata due to the a chronic illness. I prayed and the Most High led me to find onion juice for hair growth on YT. It really works! P.S. I tried all the oils and other items with no effect! My hair has grown back better than it was before!

Tanya Anderson: I absolutely love transparency.. .its the best way for everyone to grow and not feel alone! Thank you . I had a stress spot some years back which resulted in a bald spot. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit I used my scalp massager in the area every day for about 10 minutes for one week and would you know my hair started growing back in that area. Also, I noticed some thinning in one area of my edges and realized I was using this edge brush too many times it must have irritated the follicles or something. It's still sparse but thankfully hair still grows there. Hopefully this helps someone.

Ebony Jones: I suffered from this same thing! I made some rice water and used some onion juice I mixed them together in a spray bottle and I did that twice within a month and my hair started growing back! I definitely recommend trying that solution!

Renee G: I had the exact same bald spot but I guess it happened when I was removing a weave and ripped my hair out but it’s growing back now

Lisa Baker: Here’s a tip for you and anyone else use some Blackseed oil on that bald spot! You can thank me later ❤️

FANCY: So gorgeous, I love it!

Ms. Michelle Agalte: Wooooooow. I love these tips and I love how detailed you are. I want to try that gel for filling in my perimeter. I use my face steamer to loosen up residue from gel. I dip my edge brush in the fenugreek aloe spray and brush the residue while using the steamer and it loosens it up so well. Also when I started using the henna mix you did awhile back it turned the lil grey I had to a bronzy brown color and folk think I have highlights in my hair hair. This unit is life. All it took was a lil finger combing and it was big and perfect. TFS your lil secret. You are SOOOOO GOOD girl!

FANCY: So gorgeous, I love it!

Renita Richardson: Sis.... you are gorgeous!! Excellent job!!

Lavendar Ladybug Travels: This happened to me. I'd moved from Atlanta to Denver and the change in atmospheric sea level did a number on my hair and skin. I used Jamaican black Castor oil and it grew back.

Projections of Sassiness: Those products are . Thanks Mary. Always informative.

Samantha Williams: Thanks for all the tips!

guts4264347: Just stopping by the channel to get some tips to help manage my daughter’s hair. Thanks again!

Rosie Thompson: Great tips. I have an edge control that has color as well. I also use mascara. Thanks for sharing

Apple Sauce: 0:22 Mary, how are you so stunning?!?!?! Your makeup is beyond on point! Were you a MUA, or just self-taught? I have to get on this makeup thang ...‍♀️

Char Cannon: I love the honesty of this video. I enjoy learning from your journey.

Blackberry- Rose: ❤️ the texture of this. You look Very Pretty. Thank for sharing the products that you use especially the edge fixer. Have a Blessed Resurrection Weekend.

Letitia Marlin: I really appreciate your honesty!

Monica: Mary!!! If your taking feedback for video ideas.. I'd love to see more lifestyle/vlog content from you!

Michelle James: Omg this happened to me. Right in my middle part. I don't even know what happened but it looked slick just like that. Thankfully it's come back.

Mrs. A. Johnson: Fantastic Good Friday & Congratulations on your 507K Subscribers. Your channel is really growing at rapid speed all the way to 1M Subscribers. Toppik Hair Building Fibers looks like a product I'm most interested in using for my hair. You look amazing in the blue & white Christian Dior head wrap. I truly enjoy watching your hairstyle & covering up grey hair techniques plus you have so much patience in being consistent to achieve your desired overall style. Blessings Mrs. Mary

Della Turner: I have about 3 of those spots. Mine aren’t due to any hair style it just happened. So I understand totally.

Daphne Brown: Hi Mary, I wanted to share with you that I have a couple of bald spot. I am natural. I don't wear any sew in, wigs or crochet. My bald spot are from having a lack of vitamin D in my body. I hope this helps.

SimplyMe43: Hey darling, watching because I'm now thinking about getting a headband wig

Cynthia Cummings: Oh WoW, I never noticed any thinning before. You conceal it well. My edges are very thin and very curly. Nothing keeps them laid down. I've tried Everything. When the hairs curls back up, it really looks patchy. So, I completely cover my edges. Sometimes, I let them peek thru just a little.

Tann Smith: Pretty! Thx for the tips!:)

Hattie Colley: Beautiful Mary. Luv the headband. Great color on that top. Thanks for sharing ur tips on products u use for heavier thinking and bald spots.

Me Again: Hilarious! I have a bald spot in exactly the same place!

Faith_Hope_Love: Omg! I have one in the exact same spot!

OhEmKee: I get a bald spot like that from time to time. But mine grows back I try to figure out things that are in common when I get it. At the time I thought it might be frequent gel use... of a certain gel . Because I don’t regularly wear wigs or braids or anything. But like I said mine does grow in . I also sometimes wonder if it could be a deficiency of any sort.

Ashley Robinson: I have one ball spot in the same spot and I've been trying to get rid of that ball spot for the longest

nat prime: You always bring that phenomenal woman elegance...thank you sis

Ms oddballz: I would have never noticed that you have a bald spot if you didn't point it out. You did a great job concealing it. The headband wig looks fabulous.

Haus of R.Lateish: Yea... headband wigs are nothing new. I wore my half wigs with a headband from way back in the day. And I still wear them to this day.‍♀️

Pam V: Those waves are fierce ✌️✌️

Sandra Pren: Wow you make your hair look flawless-would’ve never known you have those troublesome areas, tfs

Vickie Adams: I have spots like that around the edges. Still beautiful hair texture without the extra hair. I need a headband wig. I've never seen or had a headband wig before. I don't like full wigs due to sweating or hair falling into my face. I used to put my wig on crooked. One day another teacher called me on my crooked wig. The braids did it.

HAIZZUL: You still look gorgeous

Happiness Bassey: Nice wig with band. I don't know why my hair doesn't get that sleepy with gel.

Marilyn Robinson: So pretty

Emily MD: Wow, with the way you rock different hairstyles, never would have guessed. You might want to try a mixture of - Black Jamaican Castor oil - Avocado oil - Almond oil - Tea tea and - Peppermint oil It might help

Margo555pnk: If you tie your scarf in the same spot it will cause a bald spot. I have done it at least 3 times...it grows back just don’t keep tying the scarf knot in the same spot and use castor oil.

Nancy Purter: Very pretty!!

Myrtle Smith: Wow I’m getting it dye ❤️❤️

Taneisha Johnson: I have a bald spot right there too!

beanie beans: Anyone else experiencing tangling in the back of the headband wig??

Amberlynn P.: Hey Mary I’m not sure if you heard of Debbie Williams, but she is known for helping ladies grow back bald spots who have been dealing with this issue for years!

Ronda S: Try vick's vapor rub, it'll help it.

Tausha Chambers: So my headband (headband wig) got wet and it doesn't feel snug like when you first get it., it's a little loose. Any suggestions on what/how to make it more snug.....
