Literally in the process of doing my makeup, so I was like let me go live because I haven't been live in oh my gosh months and months and months, so I was like, while I'm sitting here doing my makeup. Let me just hop on live real, quick. How is everybody my hair is braided back, I'm gon na do a um wig today trying to see if I have a bonnet right here, but I don't never have a body when you need one, but yes, so good morning star. How are you hey? Oh he's. Good all right, so one o'clock okay, good morning, good morning, guys so I'm doing my makeup this morning I have um. That was my husband he's just saying: we have to go to the mall today at one o'clock to meet our little cousin, so I'm gon na do this makeup review these wigs and then hop in the car with him and ride out to the mall. What are you guys up to today? Good, that's good! I'M gon na put a little bit of this darker shade to Contour. I want to do too too much because it is early in the morning and I do have somewhere to go today. I want my makeup. Looking extra crazy heavy when I'm out and about going to the mall, oh nice, that's nice, you're blessed! You have your granny. With you blessing, I miss my granny. She was a harsh woman, though I'm my father's side of the family was Caribbean um. What kind of products do I use to cleanse my face? I use all Fenty everything I use is Fenty um, so I use their skincare, their um, their um face wash and everything I use all their products um. I have the body scrub uh, oh well. It'S good that you're able to help her out um, because I tell you my father's side of the family, my granny, the one I call Granny my mother's grandmother, my mother's mother, passed a long long time ago. We called her nanny, but my father's mother, we call Granny and she um she's, Caribbean she's from uh, Saint Kitts and um. She was. She was a rough lady. Let me tell you something: she wasn't the the soft gentle sweet grandmother that most people had. My granny was a rough lady um. She was Rough Around the Edges. She was prickly um, but she loves you. He has to caught my grandma Nanny too yeah. So my mom's mom was Danny. She was a soft one. She was so soft, so gentle um, you know nothing got her angrier mad yeah, yeah yeah, nothing got her upset. She was just always even always wanting to cook, for you always wanted to take care of. You wanted the whole family to live with her in her one-bedroom apartment. That'S um, Nanny, Karen's, mom, the one that we used to call Nanny, but you never met her. That was your great grandmother yeah. She passed a long time ago before you were even a thought process. You weren't even a consideration. Yes, it's hanging on on um Nanny, Karen's wall. I'Ll show you next time we go. You never saw the picture of Nanny hanging on Nanny Karen's wall. So then my kids call my mom Nanny Karen, but that's my mother, so um. No, that is a bar soap boy with your silly self. Like I missed that last comment. Let me see. Um mine was not either yeah, so I mean, I know, I'm Not Alone. Um, especially if your grandparents are like foreign or from another country um, I feel like they tend to be a little, even even more so harsh um, but American American grandparents too um. I guess it just all depends on you know their upbringing and all those factors factor in um, but yeah yeah, I'm alive baby hi, guys the like and the bell button. Don'T you forget those notifications? They know how to do intros and they know how to go. Live they know what to say. This generation has grown up with YouTube, live to release. They know exactly what to do. Um, it's my mom's mom she's, not something I'll! Do everything for you. Yes, right so same same yeah, granny was the same um she'll. Do anything um that you need um she's, probably not going to give you what you want. She wasn't. She wasn't big on that, but she will give you anything. You need do anything that needs to be done for you um, but the whole time she gon na. She gon na cuss you the whole way and she gon na tell you how stupid you are for being in this situation and how you know dumb. You were, and you know she she gon na she gon na - tell you everything all the while she's gon na give you what you need, but she's not going to go Softly and so um she's going to speak every bit of her mind exactly as it comes To her mind so yeah, but it's so funny the things that you miss when they're gone is like. I never would have thought I missed that, but it's so funny when you do things you hear their voice in your head. You know I'm cooking. I'Ve been too much salt in there. Yo take the salt out your salt mouth, I'm like granny. I know how to cook this. It'S cool, it's not going to be too salty. Then she started eating it. I tell you: oh my granny, it's it's! It'S fine! If you don't want to eat it, don't eat it. We can't eat all this salt, so but yes, so this is the Sasha Buttercup. I just used the. What did I use? I think I used to just use the Maybelline concealer. I haven't been using a whole lot of concealer all around my face anymore. Lately um, I used to put concealer like everywhere, but I just find it's it's becoming more and more difficult to um blend it out, and I just really like my makeup to look natural. These days, um and to just you know, give me a very light coverage, and so, when I put the when I put the um concealer all over the place, it gets a little difficult for me to um. You know blend it and make it look natural. The way I want, I also find that now I do a lot more um buffing of the products together so um the blending process is a little easier easier and the makeup comes out more like diffused as opposed to um. You know harshly contoured and highlighted so see it like now. It doesn't even super look like I'm wearing makeup um, because it's just a very light coverage, but I have a lot of makeup on so I kind of am going for that. Look these days now. This is the fit fit me blush. This is the blush I use it's very pigmented um and I would like to say I use a light hand with blush, but I've always been heavy-handed with blush. I know it is in on Trend now to be heavy-handed with blush, but I always was. This was always something I did, and I do blush all where I've contoured um, I blush there as well, because I just um like to bring that that pop of color to my face um. It just makes your skin look healthy and give you that you know healthy color, so I do blush my whole face my whole entire face and then I want to get a new um eyeshadow palette. My hair is braided. I know it probably looks like my hair. Is just looking crazy, but it is braided um. I want to get a new eyeshadow palette, but I am so out of um practice with the I'm. So out of touch with the makeup Community, I used to watch so many makeup reviews um. I was just always up on the newest um hottest makeup products, so I was always on it like when a new palette came out or anything like that, but I'm so out of touch with the makeup Community. Do you guys still watch makeup reviews? Is that still a thing I don't know, I don't even watch makeup reviews anymore, which I'm thinking now is actually probably not good, because I need to kind of be in the know, with some of the makeup drops um that come out because I still buy makeup. Like I have to um I'm on YouTube because, like I feel like, I probably could update a lot of my makeup routine and incorporate some new products that, like the girls, are into or they're like you know, talking about you don't wear makeup, I don't wear makeup, But if they review it with wigs, then I watch yeah so yeah. I don't watch makeup videos anymore. I feel, like the makeup Community got so toxic that I was just like. Oh you, you, girls got ta chill a little bit. It was like more tea. Going down in the makeup Community than there was in like real gossip like Community, it was crazy. It was like more makeup gossip than like celebrity gossip. It was getting really insane um, so I think I kind of just stopped watching the girls um. Yes, the makeup Community has a lot of drama, like the biggest people had huge um, beefs and stuff, like everybody was beefing against Jackie, Aina and Jeffree Star, and you know, of course this was years ago, but that was kind of when I, when I kind of Left watching makeup reviews, because all the reviews that were coming out weren't even reviewing product all the videos that were coming out from them weren't even reviewing product. It was all just like apologies, and you know um, you know just addressing the nonsense and it was just like okay, guys, um. I think there was like a James Charles thing and right around that time I was like okay. This is getting a little crazy. Let me just um stick to my hair community, but you know the hair community can get a little crazy, too um, but I feel like that's more the natural hair community, because not only is the natural hair community um a hair community, it's also a community for A race of women, it's a black! Well, the Cur the natural hair community used to be black, but there's a whole debate as to if it's even still black anymore um. Some people feel like the natural hair movement, Got Hijacked so again drama over there, too. So I'll be like, let me just stay in my little wig Lane um, but I don't. I don't only do wigs. I do um crochets as well so um. My community is somewhat the natural hair community as well, because most Naturals do wear most Naturals do wear crochet, so I'm I'm tangentially a part of the natural hair community um. I don't claim to be a super natural is that I don't claim to be Supernatural. I'M just Supernatural now I um, I don't claim to be a part of the natural hair community, because I know I don't follow none of those rules. You know I use heat. I wear leave out. I flat iron, my hair. I blow dry, my hair. I don't use expensive hair products. Well, I actually have started. I started using olaplex um and I always use like Biosilk and cheese, so those are kind of expensive um, but I don't have like a huge ideology about it. Um - and I know that that is a is a big thing - the women I watch in the hair community y'all are so positive and supportive of each other, hey baby, I'm on live, but it's fine. You can talk. If you have something to say. Okay, you want to talk, what's up they're so used to me telling them to go out when I'm recording, because usually I am recording for a YouTube video, so they're so used to me just being like, but I'm on live. So I really don't mind but yeah. The the wig Community - I am so blessed, let me say the synthetic wig Community, because the lace front girls can be a little bit much um. They can be. You know the the human hair wig Community can be a little a little much, but the synthetic wig community super supportive share everything they don't gatekeep. They don't they're, not catty, they're, so down to earth and just beautiful on the outside and the inside um, and we really. We really um, have a wonderful community of women and I'm blessed to be a part of that. I know I don't upload as many wig reviews as I need to I'm getting back to it. You guys. I have two wigs today that I'm gon na be reviewing um, but I just love that community and I don't want to um lose sight of that community and um. I want to stay true to my roots. I want to grow and I'm sure you guys can tell I've been a little stifled lately, just um only doing hair. I love hair, but I am you know, I'm a multi-faceted person. I don't want to do the same thing. I'Ve been doing this for almost 10 years. You guys - and I just I need something else as a creative Outlet, so I'm just dabbling in other areas, just to keep my creative juices flowing um and just to keep me from you know, just being so bored with hair hair all the time for 10 years. It'S a long time you guys and in 10 years imagine how much you grow and change and how many different things you do. I'Ve been doing this for 10 years um, and so you know I just need to Branch out a little and just be creative. In other ways, but I don't want to lose sight of my core Community because that's where my support is - and I appreciate you guys so - I'm like how can we do a little bit of both we're gon na? Do hair videos still, but I'm gon na put some fashion in there some hauls in there some try on things um, you know shopping sharing my shopping fine, because me and my daughter, we love to shop. So it's like: what can I do to keep the creative juices flowing while staying true to my niche, and I feel like I'm just trying to figure all of it out so bear with me through these changes y'all. It won't be forever something's going to stick and I will get back into a routine. My goal really is to start doing three hair videos a week, two synthetic wigs and one crochet or braid Style. That'S my goal. So my goal is to do two synthetic wig reviews a week and one long form video. So the long form video would be box braids or crochets or quick, weave or ponytail, something that takes me longer and that video would be like 15 minutes or more. So that's the goal, but my real goal is to find an editor. If you know anybody that edits YouTube videos and is looking to get hired and make some money, please let me know because I would be so much more productive. If I wasn't. Oh, you, you put wigs over your locks, that's so cool I've seen people do that. Are your locks like small, like Sisterlocks? Is that how you could do it? You can braid them. I know a lot of times when people have sister locks, they can do any and everything with them because they're so versatile, um, so yeah. If you guys do know anyone who knows how to edit videos and wants to get hired, please send me an email. A lot of tucking I get it, I get that so yeah. If I had somebody to edit my videos, man, I would be so much more productive, I'm starting to teach my son, but he's only 11., so I'm trying to teach him so we're, starting with reels. Um, I'm teaching him how to edit my reels so at least if he could do that, that would be one thing taking off my plate and then um after he gets solid on reels. Then I'm going to start teaching him how to edit YouTube content. But I have to give him a computer because he can use mine uh. Actually I have two computers. He probably could use my desktop computer um to edit YouTube but yeah. If I could get him up and running editing my videos content every day, content every day baby and he wants to work. He he wants to make money. He always asks what he could do for a job. My kids can edit and just watching them do. It seem so time, okay, wait a minute. How old are your kids? How old are your kids? Do they want a job? It is time consuming and you know not in a bad way because like for me, when I first started, I loved editing um, because that meant content 15 and 7 yeah um. Well, if the 15 year old want a job, um yeah, I loved editing. When I first started, but when I first started good morning, munchkin eggs, you can make some breakfast sausage, but we're all out of aluminum foil. So you have to make it in the pan. Is that my phone yeah, probably Nanny Karen carrot, yep her ears must be ringing because we've talked about her earlier on live. You could talk to her because I'm online foreign - oh, he does it for his video games. So he has a channel. Oh that's so great! Well shoe, if you want a job, I'm like, let me know um, if you want, you can show them some of my videos, because I'm I'm actually dead serious um. I was thinking I would pay like 50 a video and three videos a week. That'S 150 a week, so if he's up for it um, my videos usually take me about 50 minutes to edit each one. So that's pretty much fifty dollars an hour um and the videos - usually I record them they're, usually around an hour and 20 minutes of overall footage. Okay, so he knows what to look for, because I'm just like the only thing that he would have to do is just like to know what to keep and what to kind of throw away. But if you've seen my videos, then he would know what to keep and what to throw away so out of out of about an hour and 20 minutes of footage. So that's um. 60. That'S 80 minutes of footage. I would only need maybe about 10 to 15 minutes once it's edited down um. So if you'd be interested, I'm very serious, I mean I don't know what his school schedule is or his work if he has a job schedule, but um I'm seriously. Looking for someone because um you know, I have so many like in the beginning when I started my channel, editing was awesome because that meant a new video was coming, so it was like great. Yes, I have something to edit, but now editing just feels like a chore, because I have two other businesses as well, and um. Social media is a lot more intense than it used to be before you just post a pic to Instagram and people go over and watch the video. You know now, okay, well, if he wants to throw another video in there. Like I said, my goal is three videos a week. Obviously we wouldn't start with that. We just start with like one video for him a week and I'll edit, the other two, but once he's like up and running and gets pretty good with it um we could do two and then up into three and that's really the goal. The goal is really to have three videos a week and the synthetic wig ones are so easy like that, would not be an hour, the ones that are our like the long form ones um and those are the ones that I tend to avoid. I actually have a backlog of quick weaves, sew-ins ponytails they're, all recorded they're all sitting on SD cards, but I look at it and I'm like, should I edit hour and a half long video, or should I edit this 20 minute wig review and wig review wins, But you know: that's that's not what I want to do. I want to edit the longer ones, because those are the ones that people really get something out of and um. So I I want to be doing more of what people enjoy, but is always like a toss-up so yeah my email is um Jess Monique, Thomas gmail.com star. So if you want to ask him, let me know it's like I said I have my son, I'm trying to teach him how to do reels, but he's 11. and he doesn't even have Instagram on his phone um but yeah. If I could get my son up and running with reels, I told him: I pay him twenty dollars, a real, get him up and running with reels and then um get. You know my my video editing done shoot. We being here rolling, be straight straight straight, so I'm putting these lashes on these lashes are from my collection gleemade.com. So these are available on the Glee May website on the gleamy website. Okay, girl, um oops come on lash. Of course, I don't want to act right. Okay, now it's going okay, so these aren't on the Glee May website. Let me just push this up because I feel like it's kind of facing downwards, and I guess we should do a little bit of mascara underneath I try not to do too much mascara underneath because it can kind of make you look a little older and then You want to look so go easy with mascara underneath so I'm just gon na go light with that and then put the lipstick on and that's it questions and laundry. The laundry okay, not gon na, go too much with that about to start doing laundry it's laundry day today and just a little brown. This one is from dose of colors. I do like their lipstick. The lipstick is, I realize this is an entirely Brown look. I did Brown on my lid. I did a nice Brown Contour doing a brown lid. Do you guys know a good Brown lip liner? I always use my um liquid lipstick as a Lip lip liner, but a good one. Mac used to have a good one. I think it was called Chestnut. It'S been years since I shot that Mac. Thank you, okay, so we got a brown lip. Should we lighten it up? Just a little bit in the center is giving a little dark and Dusky. It'S just lighting it up a little in the middle. A little bit lighter, lighter, lighter now my braids are so bulky I'm like, should I do this wig review with my braids, this big, it's a headband wig, so I feel like it will disguise it. Let'S. Let'S try it out, let's see, so let me tighten this a little bit um now. This is a wig that I saw. Who did this wig? I think, queen of mindset. I think it was Queen of mindset. She did this one, so I was like. Oh that's. Cute, that might be a look and it's a lot. It'S a locks one and I was like okay. Maybe she could be cute, but my braids are big and bulky. Maybe I should just lay my edges down. You probably can't even tell my braids are bulky. That'S why I was like. Let me just try it. Let'S see. Oh gosh, this thing is annoying to try to it's, not a velcro one. I prefer a velcro one. I have to lay my baby hairs down. Does it look bulky? I mean locks are bulky, so I'm glad I did Brown Makeup It's Kind of Perfect. This is cute. I never tried uh headband wig like this before cute right. It'S cute yeah, I'm like it's not me! This is cute. It'S actually adorable, okay, okay, I'm kind of feeling it how's. It look like from the back the cute from the back. I'M trying to look at my mirrors. Okay looks good, so wig caps aren't always needed. No, not for these, not for these headband wigs yeah. I don't usually use wig caps for headband, wigs um. You can, though you can um, but I usually use them for lace front, wigs yeah. I use them for lace fronts, yes, okay, so this is cute right and the makeup is a good. This brown is good for this. Of course you have to kind of reapply your blush, sometimes because it's the first thing to like go away. Blush is the first thing to leave your makeup, so I kind of have to overdo it for it to last and then kind of reapply it right at the end, a little bit of blush all right. I think we're in business. This is kind of cute. So let me go ahead and record this video. While this makeup is fresh and hey munchkin go ahead, I was going to tell you I'm on live, so if it's something you don't want, no, I know you found a way to make clay yeah yeah. Interesting. Do clay? What are you trying to do with Clay like make something a pod or like Pottery? No, oh, like a figurine, her jewelry holder, a clay jewelry holder, yeah yeah. So then that would be kind of pottery. It'S going to be like a little pot or a little shape of some sort: okay, okay! Maybe we can find a pottery class. I used to do Pottery in college. I just want to make stuff. Okay, I mean pottery class, will teach you how to mold things as well. It teach you how to work with clay and how to fire it and all those things how to glaze it. It teaches you all those things and that's what makes the ceramic piece last longer so learning the actual techniques does help, even if you're not going to apply it in the way that they teach it to you. Well, yes, University of YouTube is a good. It'S a good starting point, but if you take a pottery class, you'll learn you'll know you'll find out where a kiln is, and you need a kiln to fire your art. So you know a pottery class can also open up doors. In terms of that, you can find out where you can. You know, take your art to fire it. If that's what you, if you want it to last and you want to glaze it and things like that. Absolutely yep that's also another option, but you like this wig, that's so big! That'S a wig! It looked like crochets right yeah, It's a wig ciao! You just put this on and take this off um. But I got ta. Do this video? So, okay go ahead and um we'll talk about that done. Working on this fine Saturday morning, um so yeah, okay, I guess I don't need to redo these big old chunky braids. These are right. The way they are. I didn't even finish my breakfast. This is. I was like, I don't have time to fix breakfast or sit down and eat breakfast, because we trying to go somewhere by one o'clock and I'm trying to get these two wigs done before one o'clock and the place we go into is 40 minutes away. So I really only have till 12 20. and I still need to take a shower with this full face of makeup on how, with this full face of makeup on okay. So this is wig number two. I think I am going to lay my baby hairs down, but I'm gon na have to show that in a video, so I can't lay my baby hairs down with y'all, because I got ta record that part that part okay, here's another! Okay, I don't know if I like this one as much. I don't know y'all it's giving me my it's giving my and we can be doing my situation. Let'S come up, can we can we work this out some type of way? I don't even know. Let me tuck this tuck this under. Maybe we just make this fake. Do a fake me out like this, isn't even a headband wig. We can make this look like some, some old crochets yeah, or maybe it's the curls or the color. I don't know, I don't know what what is he giving? What is it giving here? I don't know yeah the length is not doing it for me y'all and the bulk of it all like it's rising up, it's definitely rising up. This is better. It'S actually very light, which is crazy, but maybe the density on this one is just wild dumb, like crazy, high density. It'S giving me bulk right here too, like what happened like. I would never have this many twists at the front of my face like this. No ma'am child, that's your name right there with them little tendrils hanging in the front. That was what that was okay. This has potential to be cute. This I don't mind and then the headband around that this is cute. This, I could do for sure we're gon na work something out, but let me stop talking to y'all and let me get going with these videos. I got to go anyway. Thank you guys for doing your makeup with me. Thank you guys for coming on the live. I appreciate you guys um, I'm gon na start coming back on you guys, I'm gon na start getting my life together like slowly, but surely things are coming back and I'm excited and I don't know what's in store for the future, but we here and we we Just gon na We gon na take it as it comes and Starry. Please ask your son if you want to make him some bread um, because because that's for real - and I will see you guys in the next one
