How I Went From Curly To Straight | Affordable Headband Wig Look Using Half Wig + Headband

What'S up y'all welcome back to my channel, it's ray if you're new here welcome today. If you have not noticed by the title, we are going to be discussing this hair. I know in my previous video you guys were probably wondering. Oh my gosh. She strained her hair. She strained her hair yep. This hair is a half wig. Now, before all of you go in on me about, i thought you don't wear wigs blah blah blah blah. I really don't wear wigs, so i decided to go ahead and jump on the trend of the headband wigs. If you have noticed the videos going around about headband headband wigs and how easy they are um, i thought okay. Well, let me see exactly how easy they are. However, when i was doing the um research looking at different videos and things like that, i came across hearts and cake 90s video where she was doing affordable, wigs and she was applying her own headpin headbands to him. So that is what i did i bought this wig. It is a half wig, it is not a headband wig, it is a half wig and i just applied my own headband to it. To give the same look the reason i did. That is because, first of all, um it was affordable. I could get it off amazon. I didn't have to pay hundreds of dollars for a wig. This is a synthetic wig. It is not human hair, but it looks very nice. It looks it has some texture to it, so it's not silky silky silky straight. It has some texture to it, so it does look like my regular hair and when she put it on her head and it looked so natural. I thought. Okay, that's the one that i want to try, because i don't want it to look like a wig. I don't know anything about lace, i'm not going to do lace and glue and all that kind of stuff. I just probably am not going to do that on my channel, but i did want to bring to you all, because some of you may want to protective style. Some of you may like wigs things of that sort. So i did want to bring something to my channel that you could use that was affordable, that looked nice and um would not break the bank, so this is what i got. So let me just tell you a little bit about this half wig. So this half wig again i got it from amazon. I believe i paid 39.99 for it. So 40 bucks for it. It is a textured half wig. It'S called alpha woman. It'S in the color number, two it's for curl types from 3b to 4c. So if you fall in that category, you should be able to use this half wig, and then it gives you, you know step-by-step instructions how to blend and all that kind of stuff. I didn't do all that kind of stuff. I just did the bare minimum. Just so i can kind of come on and show you how it looks if you wanted to do it now. I have my headband about right here. I have it kind of coming down over my ears. That is what i like. If you want to push it back further, you can, you can put it behind your ears or whatever, but this is what it looks like. Let me just kind of go ahead and show you what i did so or what it looks like without the headband. Let me put this down so if i didn't have the headband on this is how it would look okay. So basically i have my hair in braids under this wig cap and pulled back, you can put a part in your hair. If you want to, you can do it straight back if you want to, i tried to do a straight back, but for some reason my hair keeps wanting to part right there, and i think it's because when i do my four sections, when i do my four Sections uh, when i wash my hair, i always part it down the middle, so i think i'm starting to get a regular part there. So i think i'm gon na need to do something different so guys. This is what the wig looks like they have. It packaged really nicely too so in the package it comes with some um paper rolled up here to keep the shape of it. It comes with a hair net on it to keep it. You know in place, and then it comes in plastic as well. So i just didn't bring all that up, because i wanted to show you what it looked like on. First, i look so funny with my hair pulled back, but anyway um. So this is what the wig looks like. It has a comb here in the front. It has a comb in the back if you can see it and it does have adjustable straps so yeah. So basically i just and because i don't do this all the time i don't know if i'm doing it right. So you guys gon na, have to tell me uh, but it really doesn't matter to me because i'm probably not going to wear it that much. I just got it to show you guys. So i just put the comb in and i pulled it down and then i just kind of put the comb in the back like so hopefully i got that on straight okay like so so if you don't want to wear a headband, you, you probably don't have To and i chose just a you know - a little cheap set of headbands or whatever, but they there's all different ipad bands. You probably have some in your house already. I know i did, but i just wanted, went on and got a set of them as well, because they come in multiple colors. The set that i got and i'll link it below come in multiple colors, so you can use the color that you want. Okay, i'm trying to use, i don't have a mirror here, guys i'm trying to use the viewfinder, and then you just put the headband on to where you want. It make sure that your wig is not showing and hopefully it's not and then you just comb the hair. Now again it's synthetic you may get into a few tangles. I haven't really used like a brush or anything on that. I usually just use my fingers, but then again i haven't worn it a lot and i've worn it for a few videos and that's it so yeah. This is how it looks. Let me let you see what it looks like in the back. So yeah really easy. It'S all you do if you want a more fabulous headband, get one judge it up. I believe that you can make this look expensive. If you want to you, can make it look dressy, you can dress it down, dress it up. If you want to pull it up on your head, put me back in a ponytail: you can do that. You just got ta, make sure that your headband is hiding the wig part. You know what i'm saying you probably could pull it up on your head. If you wanted to, you know, do do you a messy, bun or whatever, if you wanted to there's a lot that you can do with this now, i'm not a wig wearer, i'm not a wig stylist. So if you are, you know what to do. If you are not there's other youtubers out there who are - and you can get a whole lot of inspiration from their channel - okay and one of those youtubers - is the hearts and cake 90. hearts and cake 90 and i'll put her information on the screen. So you can go to her channel. She does a whole lot of wigs from synthetic to human hair. So i want to let you know too that when i went on amazon and looked they had a lot of assortment of half wigs as well as headband, wigs. So i went the less expensive route and did the half wig because, like i said it was like 30, something dollars at your own headband and it's synthetic. They do have the the headband wigs that have the velcro the headband already attached to it. Those are from like 60, something and up still not really expensive compared to some human hair, wigs, but it's more expensive than this half wig that i got so i just want to let you know that there are numerous types: there's curly ones, there's straight ones or Whatever i got straight because i always wear my hair curly, so i said, let me see what i look like with straight hair again without me having to straighten my own hair now. What i will say is because this is so easy. This would be something that i would do. I am not going to be buying expensive, wigs, putting them on heads, you know flat ironing them and all that kind of stuff. That'S not me. I love my natural hair. I prefer to wear my natural hair. However, when i wash my hair and put it in twist and i'm waiting for it to dry, what i used to do is just put a cap on, have my twist hanging out, go on and run errands and let it dry that's all fine and good. But if it was at a time where i needed to go out to dinner with my husband or go somewhere - and i wanted to look more nice, then this is an option that i could throw on over those wet twists for a few hours and look put Together and look nice and come home and then take it off and let my twists continue to dry. That is something that i probably would do. I didn't know about this. If i knew about this earlier, i probably you know would have done it earlier. So for those of you who i have told or have heard, seen my videos where it's like well, i i i don't mind weeds, i think wigs have a place. I'Ve always said that people who wear them - i don't have anything against them. I just hadn't worn them. This one is one that i would wear not on a daily basis, but, like i said, if i'm trying to let them twist dry or something like that, and i need to go somewhere and i want to look halfway put together. I can throw this one because it's real easy, you just plop it on your head, put a headband on and you're out the door. You don't have to worry about the lace. You have to worry about cutting blending, you know gluing and all that kind of stuff. I don't have time for that. So that's just me so far. I have not gotten a lot of shedding from this, but synthetic wigs probably will shed well hold on those few hairs just came out, but i hadn't noticed a whole lot of shedding um earlier. So there's a little bit of shedding know that synthetic wigs are not going to last this long. They are going to tangle up on you. Probably, if you don't take care of them this one, i'm just going to hang up and pull it out whenever i need it. If i need it, i might actually try to get one with the headband already attached to it to see how i like that, but then that's going to be it and again it's probably going to be synthetic. I'M probably not going to do human hair. Unless i can get it for really cheap and then see the difference between the two, if i end up doing that i'll come on and let you guys know, but i wanted to talk to the people who are somewhat like me, who don't normally wear wigs, are Not familiar with all the stuff you have to do with them, don't want to take the time for them, but would like to look put together not where they're twist out, if they needed to go somewhere after they have washed their hair. They want something, quick, something easy something inexpensive, i'm all about trying to be inexpensive. If i can so for that person, that's what this video is for and then for those of you who, like the human hair, the long hair, want to pay the money. That'S fine too, but maybe this is an alternative for you, so i'm not leaving you out. I'M just saying there are some people who are very much like me that are scared of wigs, don't really know how to choose them and things of that sort. I got all my information, like i said, from hearts and cake 90 as far as the color. This is the exact one that she had, so i got the exact color and everything because i looked at her hair and it blended pretty. Well, so that's how i knew to get both uh number two, but i don't know you guys tell me if it looks realistic or not. So i hope this helped you guys and gave you some a little bit of different content on my channel. So let me know what you think about it. Does it look realistic? Does it look like something i can go out and is it something that you will try to pick up and maybe use as a protective style versus sitting for hours getting the braids put in or the twist put in or whatever, and i'm not saying, there's anything Wrong with those, but for me i don't want to sit that long, i'd rather plop something on and go if i had to um so yeah.
