Today, i'm so excited because i will share with you my favorite head covering styles as a jewish orthodox woman, as well as my five best hair, covering tips to make head covering easy for long short or thin hair and to stop any head scarf from slipping off. I will also show you how i tie my head scarves, how i embellish them and what head scarves i wear on weekdays on shabbat and on certain holidays and if you're new here hi my name is Sara Malka and on my channel i share all facets of My orthodox sephardic jewish life as a full-time working mom with small kiddos, so don't forget to leave a big thumbs up to the video and subscribe to our channel. Let me put on a pretty tichel / headscarf and let's jump into it, because i use scarves almost exclusively to cover my hair. I have amassed quite a collection over the years. Thank G.od. I store them in these walmart bins by color. Before i had these armoire from ikea, i used to store all these bins under my bed. Before i show you my favorite head coverings, i will show you my five essential tools or tips that makes my head scarf. Hold all day and makes it so regal. The first tip is to use a hair grip at all time and if you would ask me what is the most critical tool i use to have a successful hair covering journey, i would answer that this seemingly unimportant tool makes everything possible. It is a special velvet headband with a velcro, so it can be adjusted to the right size and if you want to try one, because i really do not want for you to lose your money, buying the wrong hair grip, i will leave my favorite one. I have been using for more than a decade in the description box below as a married orthodox jewish woman. I cannot show my hair as it is a commandment in the Torah, so our daughter Leah has graciously accepted to be our model for today, and if you want to thank her for helping us today, please let her know in the comments below she will be so Happy to read your comments. My first step is to make a bun with Leah's hair and to fluff it up to maximize the volume. Then i use my second tip or tool, which is an extra large scrunchy. This one is in velvet and it will help carry the weight of the scarf, so it will not slip off a small scrunchy would just not do the same thing as it is not as big and the scarf would just fall off. This is one of my oldest and most used crunchy as you can see, but it still does the job i place the scrunchy around the bun. Then i place the hair grip. I like placing the hair grip a bit over my ears to make the scarf hold on even longer. I could stop there and build my scarf on this base, but in my experience the scarf falls easily, and this is when my tool or tip number three comes handy. I use a pouffe or some call it a volumizer. It is a bonnet with filling inside. It. Also has a velvet band, but this velvet is not as clingy as the hair grip band but put together. They form a mighty team. What i like about this proof is that it has a hole inside so i can modify the volume of the poof i'm 5'9. Thank G.od and if i wear a small hair covering it, looks like i'm wearing a crepe on my head, and this is why i always buy extra filler to make my volumizer as big as i need. I can also change the filling size depending on what scarf. I wear to fill the poof or bobo (, some call it boubou ) as they call it in israel. It is very easy. I use the filler that i bought at walmart for two dollars and i add it until i get the size that i want. The pouffe can look big, but the scarf will come and push it down. As you can see, a bit of filler can make such a big difference. If you cannot find a pouffe, you can simply make it yourself using a loofah and a bonnet, and i will leave the link to the tutorial i made in the comments below, if you have short, hair, thin, hair or very little hair. This is the perfect hack for you, you simply put the loofah in the bonnet and you have instant volume, no long, hair needed with certain scarves. I will need very little volume, so i will only use a headband, a scrunchy and a bonnet to have a smaller bun. Once i have my base on, i can start building my different head covering now that i'm sure that the scarf i will style will stay in place because i work long hours and i can now play with my scarf at work to make it super immovable. I start by strengthening my base by adding a very thin scarf to hold the poof, the headband and scrunchy together and to shape my bonnet. It is not at all necessary, but adding this extra layer will hold my scarf much longer in place, even when i run in the hospital or do strenuous activities. As you know, my go-to style is a turban wrap. So i will show you how i do it. An important point that i have learned over the years is that not all scarves are created. Equal and materials like silk will be much more difficult to use to cover the hair compared to this amazing scarf. That is made of a light material that has larger weaving, which makes it super easy to use and very grippy, so it stays in place all day. My first step is that i will fold the edge of the scarf to make a nice seam. Then i will align the center of my very large rectangular scarf to the middle of my face, creating two equal tails. I will knot the tails in the back, making sure it is not too tight. Then i will take one tail fold it onto itself, making it as straight as possible. Then i will pass it over my head. I will take the end of the tail and i will tuck it in the fold i have just created. I would repeat the same process on the other side, but today i'm wearing my scarf with the tail down, as it is a day off, because i filmed in real time. This took me exactly 37 seconds to complete the look and, as you can see, using a scarf that has multiple horizontal lines will create a lot of texture in the final head scarf and will look so much more regal. Another of my favorite hair, covering style, is to use a large square scarf. I use a silk scarf today to show you what i will do to keep it in place. The first step is that i will unfold the scarf completely in front of me. Then i will turn it to get a diamond. I take the top corner and fold it slightly and not fully as it would make the scarf too small. I will place the scarf on my head and i will gather the two corners of the scarf that are on my right and on my left, and i will leave the bottom corner alone. Once i have the corners in my hands, i will now knot them together. In the back, i adjust the front of the scarf to place it where i want to be, and sometimes i will even place a straight pin on top through the scarf and the bonnet to make everything stay put. I gather the three tails and place them on the side. This is my favorite look to go out and about and still look put together with minimal effort, because i'm near the closet, i will show you my frenemies aka, my wigs personally, i have mixed feelings about wearing a wig to fulfill the commandment of the Torah that Marry jewish women should cover their hair. For me, i just feel it is contradictory to use human hair to cover my hair, but i completely understand why other women would do it and at the end of the day, it is completely a personal choice: how to cover one's hair. When i do wear a wig, which is almost never, i will use a fully synthetic wig and i also cover it with a beret. In all honesty, i really feel uncomfortable wearing a wig. What do you think is the wig, a yay or a nay? Let me know in the comments below the other head covering style. I like to wear are different hats. Like these winter hats, i wear on cold days. I particularly love this model because it has not only a fluffy pom pom, but it is a removable, pom pom that makes it super easy to clean. With my winter hats, i only wear my velvet headband and my scrunchy to hold everything in place. No volumizer. I also like to wear these cotton beret in the summer, as they are light and airy. They also have this lovely toggle to adjust the size and when i do wear them outside the house, i will embellish them and i will show you how i embellish my head covering a bit later in the video. Many of you ask me: do i have to wear certain colors for certain holidays? The general answer is no, but some customs or minhag do exist. For example, on yom kippur, it is customary to see women all dressed in white, including their head, covering usually when i wear white scarves they are quite transparent and thin. So to make sure my hair is not seen through this scarf, i will use my tip number. Four, i use a thick velvet white bonnet or scarf to make my hair fully covered. It also helps my most slippery scarf to stay in place and it covers any color of pouffe. I wear under the velvet bonnet as an added bonus, because i see my head covering like a crown, i like to make it even more beautiful by embellishing it - and i add, on top my scarf some brooch, some headband or some chain headbands. I find it makes the scarf so regal. What do you think? Let me know in the comments below finally, my favorite head covering style, that i think i love the most to wear on shabbat on the holidays and on special occasions are my deluxe pre-tied sets. I have two styles. The first one is like a bonnet with a veil attached on top. I simply wear it on top of my volumizer no under scarf for that one. It also has two tails that i will knot in the back to stay in place. It literally takes me 10 seconds to put it on, and it looks so amazing in my opinion, what do you think? Let me know in the comments below the last headscarf model is my absolute favorite. Whenever i wear it, i feel so good. Do you also have a piece of clothing that when you wear it, it makes you feel so good? Let me know in the comments below this is also a pre-tied in two pieces. The first piece is the sash that is bedazzled. I absolutely love it. The second part is the bonnet. It is super large to accommodate all sides of pouffe alone or pouffe, with a scarf on top for extra volume and stability. To put it on, i place it on my pouffe and then i adjust the front part to lay the bonnet. Where i want it, then i knot the tails together, taking my time to make a beautiful bow. I also make sure to pull down any excess of fabric, and here is my fifth tip to make my scarf stay in place all day. I make sure i do not tie my knot too tight. Otherwise, not only will cause me a headache, but it will also pull on the fabric and make the scarf slip. Then i will put my sash. I love placing the centerpiece of my sash on the side of my scarf. Then i take the tails of the sash and i knot them together, making sure i do not tie them too tight and, finally, i make sure the surface of the scarf is nice and flat. This headscarf style is so easy to put on and so beautiful and of course i will leave all the links in the description box below for everything i have used in my video. After seeing all the hair covering, i would love to know which head covering style was your favorite. If you do have a favorite, please write it down in the comments below. Thank you for being here. It means the world to me know that in my book you are simply amazing, because you're always here ready to learn new customs with an open mind and an open heart if you're still with me until the end, please write in the comments I LOVE JEWISH HEAD, Covering so i know, i was not alone and if nobody told you today know that YOU ARE LOVED and YOU ARE ENOUGH just the way you are until next time stay safe, stay, blessed and don't forget to FRUM IT UP.

J.: I'm not Jewish but I find your videos comforting and fascinating, Thankyou for your channel☀️

Dorothy Young: The scarves as you wear them are, indeed, regal. The wig … not so much and I appreciate your comment about using human hair to fulfill the commandment. Leah, you are generous to us to let your mother demonstrate her techniques on you! Thank you so much!

Jennifer Mast: I’m a Christian and really enjoy learning the customs of hair covering, be it Orthodox Jewish or Islamic. What a beautiful form of worship. In some Christian sects women do observe this (for example, some orders of nuns in the Catholic church). I was not raised with the tradition of hair covering but find such beauty in it.

Ruth Gaver: Hi from Arizona I’m going to my third appointment with Chemo this Tuesday and as my hair has begun falling out I’m thankful that your video showed up! My favorite head covering is the white with appliqué flowers! I ❤️ Jewish head coverings!Thank you Leah for helping your Mama by Modeling!

bluelblock: Thank you Leah for sitting for the modeling! and thank you Sarah for demonstrating. I am not religious but I cover my hair sometimes to protect my hair and skin (especially that hair part!) from the elements and I feel like a vintage movie star. I love learning ways to better tie scarves, especially the slippery ones. Now I help my mom tie hers as she has lost hair from chemotherapy. Your synthetic wig was very cute, but it is about your comfort! Your coverings are always so beautiful. I love Jewish head covering!

teri5770: From what I’ve seen in the short time I’ve watched your channel, you have a talent for creating attractive outfits with beautifully brilliant color combinations w/o comprising your commitment to maintaining a conservative style of dress. I imagine today’s show will offer us a rare treat of peeking into your closet and saying….omg did you see how beautiful the color and style of that head covering is??? Lol Looking forward to today’s video

hako: I love Jewish head coverings! and also thank you to Leah for modeling! I think the scarves look much better than wigs personally :) I don't belong to any particular faith, but I have been considering covering my hair when I'm out of the home just for a little extra modesty, since I already dress very conservatively to begin with. I love the way you coordinate your scarves with your outfits - is there any chance you could make another video explaining the way you dress? Much love to you and your family, I always look forward to your videos every week!

Julie Berci: Yay on the wig. Thank you miss Leah for assisting your mother show us the techniques. I don't cover for religious reasons or modesty, but I cover due to my hair not growing back after chemo. I patronize Wrapunzel, The Little Tichel Lady as well as Amazon. I have over 100 scarves and they have become my trademark. I will say that I have always dressed modestly and conservatively all my life. Thank you for this video. Your voice is so calming. Hope you have a happy week! Hugs!

Mell: Thank you Leah for allowing your mom to demonstrate how she does the start of her hair coverings. Also thank you Sara for going through everything about how you do things. I love to learn about others religions and how they do things because learning about differences helps me understand and become a better person in general.

Binah Sfira: I love Jewish head covering! I personally find it an honor to cover my head, and it is indeed our crown of splendor I am not a fan of wigs myself, and I absolutely love your last one- haven't seen one like that! I'm grateful for Wrapunzel, it made getting access to scarves so much easier, and the velvet headband is a life saver. Shalom shalom

Zoë-Dawn: Shalom Sara and thank you Leah "I love Jewish head covering" - and particularly how organised you are! I also prefer synthetic wigs, it feels totally weird wearing someone else's hair to hide my own!

Amie Rikke: Sarah, you are just gorgeous! Leah you also, thank you for helping! Yes, regal is the perfect word to describe you in your head coverings. With your height you’re able to carry these so well. I think I liked the first best. I see head coverings as a privilege that Jewish married women hold. Thank you once again for sharing this with us ❤️. I love Jewish head coverings!

M. Harris: Dear Leah…your hair shines like the sun. ☀️ Thank you for helping your Mother show us how to put on a head covering. You did great. ✨I love Jewish head coverings. Sarah…you looked beautiful in all of them. My favorite was the white one for Yom Kippur. Also, you look adorable in the wig and hat. Thank you for blessing our lives.

Beth Roberts: Thank you to your beautiful daughter for being a model today; thank you for this video. I am the woman who had a wonderful grandmother who was Jewish, she was, along with my other grandmother, the women who loved and cared for me. My parents were married almost 60 years when my father passed, so I was raised in a home with two parents. Short and sweet, my mother wanted her career, not another child and not a girl. My siblings are male. I am thankful my grandmothers loved me. I lost my husband of 36 years in June and I am curious to know if a Jewish woman who is a widow must still cover her hair? I enjoy your videos so much, they help me and you always at the end say how perfect and loved we are. Thank you…. P.S. I don’t like the wigs, no. I love your beautiful scarves.

Stacie Bee: Absolutely stunning! My favorite was cream/white colored covering with the chain headbands. Thank your daughter for her modeling, it was lovely to see the beginning steps with her help! Have a blessed week!

RoamingRaven: Wonderful job modeling, Leah! Such a good helper you are. I wear a small round covering when I stay with my Amish friends and it's very interesting to see how differently we go about it. We rely on hair nets and bobby pins to keep our "bob" (aka bun) in place all day! Your coverings are all gorgeous!

August Kharis Tarver: Thank you Leah for modeling! I love Jewish head coverings! I’m a pagan myself, but your videos are so soothing, informative, and relaxing to watch. You have such a beautiful family, thank you for sharing with us!

Aliki Adams: Sarah, what a wonderful video again! Thanks to Miss Leah for modeling, beautiful . Although I am Greek Orthodox and from Greece, I love your channel-it is important to watch and see other cultures and religions in order to broaden one’s horizon. Just as a quick info, in the older days my grandmother always used to wear a scarf to cover her hair, it was also in the Greek culture tradition to do so. My best regards to you from Thessaloniki-Greece, where we still live in peace and respect with so many of our Jewish neighbors and friends. May you and your family be safe and heathy. Ο θεός μαζί σας - Αλικη

Jahmelle Sherman: I love head coverings! This is a video I was hoping you would do for us one day. You’re daughter was the perfect model for this. I do believe the white coverings for Yom Kippur is my favorite, especially with the embellishments.

Heather Knits: Thank you, Miss Leah, for acting as model for your mother. It is often easier to work being done on another, than trying to videotape oneself. Personally, even when I wear a wig, I always cover with at least a triangle kerchief! Thank you for all the effort that went into this. I know head covering can be divisive, but it is important to understand it goes beyond cleanliness, obedience, or habit. Plus, all the styles, it really is a personal thing. I truly enjoy just a kerchief or scarf, but when there was a strong push to cover one’s face in public, I found there was a deep struggle to obey Adonai first and before all. It was then I discovered the stylistic choice that had become such a part of how I present myself in this world. Quite a few times, I was starkly reminded that personal identity is defined by how one dresses, how someone obeys, and that continues right down to color choices.

Mary Duggins: I love Jewish head covering! I wear a veil to church every Sunday and - while some people think it’s old fashioned or maybe they don’t have the same convictions as I do - I can wholeheartedly say I never feel more feminine than when my head is covered. I love my veil! I imagine you feel the same about your tichel

Azure Phoenix: Thank you for all your tips! I'm in a comparative religion course for my master's thesis and exploring all of these beliefs also requires that I do a lot of hair covering to spend time in certain places and the scarves slide around constantly and it drives me nuts and makes note taking an excessively frustrating experience. Thanks to Leah for assisting!

Angela Olsen: Thank you, Leah, for your kindness in acting as your mother’s model for us

marsneedsbunnies: Thank you Leah! I wear a head covering to church, and increasingly, every day. I use scarves: short lace veils, and a poof from Wrapunzel. Velvet headbands are a must to hold everything in place. Covering is meditative and calming. I don't think I could go back.

Florinda Lucero: Have you ever used "swaddling" fabric? It is my absolute favorite for running; it is super light, has a great stretch, and because of the crinkly gauzy nature of it, is has great hold, plus it comes in so many colors! Highly recommend!

EnterpriseBaby: Dearest Sara, I Love Jewish Head Coverings! This was a most wonderful episode, as I always wondered how you were able to cover your hair so beautifully and easily. Many thanks to Leah for being such a pretty model for us! I am a Catholic, and I have been wearing a veil to church for many years to show respect in my house of worship. It is an old tradition that is making a comeback. Thank you for showing us how to be an amazing and faithful woman. Peace be with you.

Tondria Sanders: Thank you Sara I love Jewish head coverings And a big thank you to your lovely model, Lila, for helping to teach us all how to make a solid foundation for our own hair covering practices I wear my hair in dreadlocks. They are very long and I like to style them with beads and into braids and plaits which I twist and weave into intricate styles. It feels like wearing a regal crown that I was gifted the ability to naturally create. However, there are many times when I want or need to cover them for comfort, cleanliness and safety but I’ve struggled to learn how to use and tie scarfs. I am so grateful to you for sharing your tips, techniques and tricks. This will change my life! No more dust or food smells getting into them. No more lose dreads threatening to get caught in a tool. No more dreads coming lose when I exercise or pray and distracting me. And the best part? I will still feel regal, artistic and beautiful. I am so thankful for you my friend Sarah Your love and caring for others is such a gift and your use of the wonderful technology we have to share it with the world for good is truly a blessing

sumrakdievca: I love Jewish head coverings! Thank you so much, Leah, for being a good sport and modeling your mother's hair techniques on camera, since she can't. We really appreciate it! Also, all your scarves are so pretty! I can't help but think that for me, at 5'1", the poof might be just a bit much, but it works really well on you. And... while I'm not Jewish and so don't really appreciate the cultural justification, logic, or thought process in regards to wigs as head coverings, it's very interesting to hear your perspective on it.

Ginny Aiken: I love it when Leah graces us with a cameo appearance! Thank you! You have a very artistic eye, and I very much appreciate how you refer to the covering as a crown.

Meylin Carbo: I love Jewish head coverings! Everything was so beautiful!! Thank you for sharing this and thank you to Leah for modeling! I have been covering my hair full time for several weeks and I feel the same way, like it's my crown :)

amysanangel76: Thank you to Miss Leah for modeling for us, she did a fantastic job! I think the wig looks adorable on you, but your various other head coverings are so beautiful with the different colors, textures and embellishments. I am enjoying learning about your life and your voice is really lovely!! Thank you

Sam: Thank you to Leah for modeling! And thank you to you Sarah for all the great information/tutorials. I love Jewish head coverings. ❤ One of my favorite pieces of ‘clothing’ that makes me feel great is actually my mermaid tail! I love to swim in it. :)

Sherry Paulette: Thank you, Leah, for being a patient model for your mother. Personally, Sarah, I think you look beautiful in all of your head scarves\coverings. In your wig, you look totally different . Thank you for your teaching about Judaism. I am Christian but like to learn about others beliefs. Blessings to you and your family.

The Busy Brown Angel: Shalom, Sarah! I’m so glad you did this video. I have so many headscarves and was trying to figure out a better way to store them. Right now they are on three 28 hole tie/scarf hangers and two king size clear comforter bags ‍♀️ I think I have an addiction I love your system and your beautiful little model. What method would you suggest for covering in high heat? We’ve been in the 100s for 3 months. This week is the worst. It was 108 yesterday, 106 today, 109 tomorrow, etc. Would you suggest wearing just a single gauzy layer, loosely tied? Or still multiple layers? Todah rabah, achoti! BH

Marie O'Rourke: I love the lux style ones. I wish I would have known that they existed I could have used it when I was doing chemo. I hated the wigs. My hair has always been my pride and when it fell off I was lost. You are a blessing. Thank you I love Jewish head coverings.

Laura T: I LOVE JEWISH HEAD COVERINGS Thank you so much Sara for sharing this with us! I like to wear my hair up and I like to wear it covered on the rare cold days we have here in Louisiana. I think it looks so elegant. Your collection of scarves is wonderful! So many to play with! I think you look beautiful in all of them, but it was so nice to see you in the wig. It's a good look for you. Leah - thank you for being your mom's model. You did a wonderful job and you look so lovely. Love to all of you!

U U: Thank you Leah for modelling! Thank you Sarah for this very interesting video! You look absolutely beautiful in your Tichels I found your comment about Wigs as headcoverings very interesting. I don't cover my hair, as I am catholic. We do however veil our head during mass, even though it is not mandatory anymore :) Our veiling is called Mantilla. I always found it so interesting how in all different religions many women choose to cover their hair in so many different styles! I find it so beautiful and inspiring! Mennonite or Catholic Headcoverings, Jewish Tichels or Sheitels, Muslim Hijabs.... all for the glory of our Creator in Heaven :)

Emunah Eliana: Thank you to your beautiful model! I am a Noachide woman and I have been covering my hair with scarves for 8 years in the Appalachian Highlands area of the American South. I absolutely love it! I do own a wig, but like you, I hate it! I used to wear it to interviews, but where I work now I am so recognized by my scarf. No one would know me if I wore a wig. Highly recommend Wrapunzel. I've been ordering from them for years. Very reasonable prices and super fast shipping! I have a couple pieces of advice for women who would like to use scarves to cover their hair. 1. Be careful with florals and small prints. In my opinion, they can look like a shower cap. 2. Also be careful with black and gray. Color at your face is usually better.

Ginger Snapp: Thank you Leah for being your momma’s model. I really enjoyed watching the video. My cousin lost all of her hair when I went to care for her. I bought her several head coverings. I wish I had this for helping her to feel beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

Chely M: WOW! Many questions, and many answers! First, how very sweet of your daughter to help out! A big hug to her today! ♥️ I thought you looked beautiful in the wig, but also can understand feeling a bit “silly” wearing it. Maybe on a day that you don’t have to go anywhere, you can put it on for around the house and get more comfortable wearing it? Completely up to you! I loved the fancier, “bedazzled” scarves and headbands, but the white scarf with the 3 jewelry pieces on it was probably my favorite! Beautiful, classic, and simple. Many blessings to you and your family!

Donna Dieter: Thank you, Miss Leah, for modeling your mom's hair techniques. I have a niece named Leah, she's grown and married and has two kids of her own. My favorite scarf was the one in different shades of blue. I'm a minimalist and I'm short, so I'm drawn to simpler stylings. How fascinating that y'all wear white on Yom Kippur!

Emily Garside: Thank you to Leah for helping out! also she must have so much inspiration for her future hair covering options from you! (I imagine too a favourite or two she would like to have some day too!). This was so fascinating- personally, I love your first scarf with the different layers of colour, but of course the super glamorous one at the end too. Thank you for sharing- I feel some people consider head covering to be a restriction of some kind but I have always loved how they can be a real expression of creativity and personality. Thank you for sharing your beautiful collection with us!

Tirza Ellesson: I love Jewish head coverings! Thank you for sharing your tips on covering. I think the scarves look very regal, I feel like a queen in them too! I really love how you have organized them all in bins according to color. All the styles you shared today look so beautiful it’s hard to choose a favorite. Also, thank you Leah for being the model today! What a sweet time to spend with mom ☺️

L L: Dear Sarah, Thank you very much for your videos. They are very informative. As a Muslim woman, it's interesting to understand why and how Jewish women cover their head. Thank you so much to help us understanding more about. Your head covers are elegant and they all suit you because you're blessed with beauty. I wish you a bright day.

Sandra Hochstein: Thank you so much for this video! I'm Jewish but didn't cover my head until I had to deal with hair loss due to chemo. I've accumulated quite a collection of scarves and watched lots of youtube videos in the past few months. In June I attended a bat mitzvah in Toronto and wore a beginner version of the beautiful styles you demonstrated. And you're right -- it made me feel regal! I'm now looking for ideas of what to wear for the upcoming High Holidays. Thanks to both you and your daughter for sharing.

Andrea Folda: I loved the one with the three different metal embellishments! But mostly I loved the fact that you were so happy and excited about your own head coverings!

Marie Panettieri: Great job Leah, you have gorgeous hair! I love your light scarves, they're so regal yet so simple. I love wearing a head scarf as a fashion piece, and I inherited some beautiful scarves from my beloved Grandma when she passed. You definitely gave me some tips and ideas on how to wear different shapes and styles to cover my hair in the future! I knew the 20+ bobby pins were just not cutting it haha. Lots of love from me to you and yours

Shalom Y'all: Thank you so much for being such an excellent model, Leah!! Love the headband tips and the bobo idea. I was using a pair of tights as a filler. Can't wait to try your tips. Shalom

K McG: I love Jewish head coverings! Hello, Miss Leah! That was so nice of you to help your mom show us how to put together the lovely head coverings your mom wears. ❤❤❤ Sara, the sweet things you say in your videos are of great comfort to hear. While we don't know one another personally that just doesn't seem to matter when I hear you say "you matter." Know that I think the same of you. Thank you.

Soulfoodsmama: I love your head coverings! My great aunt always covered her hair (and told me I should too) but my grandmother and mom didn’t, I’ve been learning that I personally feel better when I cover my hair at work or anywhere else where I’m around lots of people that aren’t my family so this is giving me ideas of how to tie my scarves. I’ve been definitely learning that if I tie my scarf too tightly my head hurts halfway through day so I’m glad it’s not just me.

Alice Adler: Thank you Leah, for being our model for today!!! I love the way you do your Jewish head coverings. I think I most favor the square silk scarves probably because I have a lot of scarves that I wear around my neck that are square and beautiful!!! I loved your “hair” with the beret!!! You are so pretty!!! I could not imagine you before with long hair but I loved seeing you in the beret. PS - my daughter’s Jewish name is Leah Sarah. We call her Lauren.

redburningfires: I like so many of the head covering styles you shared, especially the embellished white flowers and the dark blue covering with the sparkles. Thank you to your daughter for modeling, she helped me to see the process, I'm grateful. My husband and I are following Torah study for the past year or so. I am in process of collecting head coverings and to find styles I like. Do you ever get too warm while wearing them? I would like to find simple lightweight ones for warmer weather. Thank you so much for sharing!

JussyRaven2: Your scarves are so much more beautiful. I was even surprised at my own reaction to your wig, I didn't like it as much. Big THANK YOU to your daughter for being your model, she's so sweet! Takes after her mom! All your videos are done with such charm and warmth. I find myself looking forward to each new video. Learning about my own family's history and combining it with your videos I feel a much deeper connection. I cannot thank you enough, now that both of my parents have passed in the past two months. I feel that your videos were placed here just in time to help me on my journey.

Marije: You look so beautiful and regal in all of them! Also a big thank you to Leah for modeling the first part, you two make an awesome team I think you look lovely in the wig, but like another commenter has said, it's about your comfort too, so don't do it if it feels wrong of course! I love Jewish head coverings! But also... how could I not watch until the end. I've had to deal with a trying time and you always tell me that I'm worth it even when I couldn't tell myself. Thank you for that ❤. Lots of love from the Netherlands

Joyce Baker: This was such a fun video. I felt like a girl again trying on fun fashions with a friend. I loved so many of your head coverings, I loved your favorite at the end, it was so pretty and sparkly. I laughed when you laughed when you had the wig on. You couldn't keep a straight face. I love Jewish head coverings and thanks for the links, I will share with a good friend going through chemo and radiation. And your video, too. Leah - you were a very good model. You are so good to help your Mom.

Linda T: They are all so beautiful! Thank you as always for sharing your traditions and customs with us. ❤️

hilda crow: I love the Jewish head coverings!, These were all so beautiful and functional. I think my favorite one was the white/off white with the detailed flowers. Thank you so very much!!!

Chelle: I love Jewish head coverings. I’m not Jewish but love the ability to let my hair rest by not having to style it everyday yet still look presentable. The scarves and accessories are beautiful. Thanks for explaining the poof and headband (I have short curly fine hair that likes to escape from most head coverings.)

Brenda Beiter: Your videos are such a nice part of my day. I feel like I am visiting a friend over a cup of coffee. Thank you for sharing your faith, your customs and your practical tips.

Shai Hawkins: Goodness, you've fully captured my feelings about wigs AND given me ideas for how to use my satin scarves! Thank you so much.

Claudia Thatcher: Thank you so much Sara for your prayers for the kids. I really appreciate you!!❤️. We are definitely sisters of the stairs. Not only can I fall down the stairs but I am a pro at falling up the stairs!! I could break both arms and legs and the thing I would worry about first is if anyone saw it

Babz Covington: thank you, miss leah for helping with the demonstration. we don't know but a couple of Jewish people and none of them are orthodox . we homeschool and your mother's wonderful videos are part of our continuing education on comparative religions. tell her when she is done with her teaching i often say out loud. "i saw her do it, but i still have no idea how she gets so much done in a day"

Marie-Claire Chapman: I love all of them! They all suit you so well. I especially love the first blue one with the different shades, it looks really effective once tied up!

Karen Hopper: I love Jewish head coverings! Such a beautiful and organized collection. My favorite ones are the fancy embellished ones, so amazing. Just like a shining crown! Leah did a wonderful job as a model, Thank you Leah! I do have one question, do you wear a hospital cap over your head covering while you work? I hope that your family had a restful and peaceful Shabbat! Blessings all around! ❤

Yesenia de jesus: I love Jewish head covering!! You are amazing Sarah! Thank you so much for everything you do. My husband and I are in the process of converting to Orthodox Judaism and I want you to know that you and your channel is a blessing to me and you are a great influence in my life. I always pray to HaShem for you and your family and I hope some day I want a bless to meet with you.

Karen Strode: Hello Sarah, I love Jewish Head Coverings! and thank you, Leah, for being the charming model! I love your videos because my family, although not Jewish, raised me to believe in keeping Saturday as Sabbath and only buying kosher marked foods! I have gotten many helpful tips on how to do this from you. After watching this video I immediately went to my closet to look for scarves. I did not find one big enough to do a good covering. How big is the square scarf in inches (or feet)? I want to be able to fold one like you did and will be searching for some when I am out shopping. Thanks

Tanya A: I love your collection and your sense of organization is just amazing!! To be honest they all look beautiful in their own way. Big thanks to Leah for helping out!!! I love scarves and really tried when I first got married to use them but I have such an egg face that no scarf looked good on it. Also, I found that after a while my glasses were beginning to pinch me behind the ear… I gave up. Now I have a gorgeous collection of hats. I have a couple of wigs (synthetic, the real ones freak me out) but I’m not all that keen on them. Wore them no more than 3 or 4 times in the last 15 years .

Katherina Uton: Oh Sarah! I really loved this video. I'm thankful to you for showing us this. It was delightful ❤ God bless you

Mic: First how wonderful of your lovely daughter to help with modeling. Thank you to her. I'm not Jewish but I have the greatest amount of respect for you and the way you honor God. I'm a Christian, I appreciate your honesty in this wonderfully presented video! It helps us to understand each other.

Anahid Kassabian: First of all, Leah, thank you so much for helping me learn about how your mom covers her hair. It was super interesting; I have never covered my hair, but I have watched many videos on various ways to cover, not least because I was diagnosed with cancer about 7 years ago. So I'm sure you're touching lives you haven't even thought of. Sara, I'm so impressed with your array of coverings... and the way you talk about them. I agree about the wig--mostly because there's nothing special about it, though variety is often important. And I love your embellishments. Have you ever considered wearing a single item? For many years I had a hair clip that I bought at a Renaissance Faire that was a beautiful arrangment of feathers, and I wore it as a brooch. Something like that would also be regal, but in a different way, I think... But it doesn't matter, because no matter what you do, you are beautiful.

Carrie 208: I love Jewish head covering. Thank you, Leah, for serving as a model. Thank you, Sarah, for producing this very helpful video. My favorite head coverings are the scarves because they’re so versatile. Blessings of joy.

jetta bartholomew: This was amazing I love every single head covering Special thank you to your daughter

Quarty 91: Hi Sara! What a great video, as always a special thanks to your very professional assistant as well! All of your scarves are lovely, I couldn’t pick just one. You’ve inspired me to buy a few of my own as well I think the wig looks adorable on you, but the scarves are indeed much more regal!

Lauraellis101583: I love Jewish head coverings I was so excited to see this cuz this is the topic I had asked for in one of your previous comment sections! I love this style of head covering you wear. I'm Christian, but currently living in a Muslim country so I try and cover my hair sometimes just so I don't stand out in a negative way. I don't like the way the hijabs that my friends have wrapped on me look (I don't think it works well with my face shape). I think I might try the turban tie that you wear next time I leave the expat areas. Just got to order some velvet poofs and headbands!

Angela Toland: I love Jewish head coverings. I think my favorite head covering was the stunning blue one you put on in the end. You always wear a pretty head covering and look so well put together. Your daughter was a great model. Be well and have a wonderful day

Frankie Amsden: I love Jewish head covering. Sarah Malka, I'm so glad you did this video! I really enjoyed your tips. I especially like how you organize your tichels. It's much better than my present system, I think I might put them into bins and label them as you have. Right now all the bedroom closets are sharing my collection. I love your pre-tied lux tichels, sooo beautiful . My two favorites you showed are the blue cheetah print and the navy blue lux. Leah did a great job! She makes a lovely model.

teri5770: I Love Jewish Head Coverings! Beautiful video Sara, thank you! And Miss Leah, thank you for helping your mom teach us how to put on a head covering! Every time you and your sister share your talents or just your helping hand to assist your mother is such a tender and sweet moment for me!

Majestic Goldfish: The wig looks super fun! I think that was my favorite. Recently I have started to experiment with hair coverings and I even purchased some vintage head scarves from Ukraine. I like to find small ways to connect with my Slavic roots and this one is super fun. The headscarves are pretty and I get lots of compliments when I choose to wear them on bad hair days! Thank you for the video and the inspiration Sarah! Sending love your way!

Marty Stamper: I love Jewish head coverings! You look fabulous in all of them. The wig was also very becoming. Great job as a model, Leah!

Olive Benson: Thank you for sharing. Your daughter was the perfect model, well done ♥. Your scarves are absolutely beautiful. What a multitude of colours. Your wig really suits you, it looks very chic, but if you don't feel comfortable with it I can totally understand. Nothing feels better than wearing something which makes you feel good. I love Jewish head coverings ☺. Have a wonderful day.

chuckleberryjane: Your content always feels so wholesome. Thankyou for sharing your life with us <3 And Leah, it was wonderful to see you! I hope you all have a beautiful, and blessed day <3

jjonesl172: Thank you so much for letting your daughter make that decision to show herself, but also, making this video to give information to people you are not familiar with your traditions. I love watching your channel even though I do not practice your religion. ❤❤

Leslie Stewart: Fascinating! All of the options were equally beautiful and I appreciate how they function differently based on scenario. I love Jewish head covering.

Lisa G: I LOVE JEWISH HEAD COVERINGS! My favorites were the rectangular scarves that you folded over the pouf! Thank you for sharing this with us Sarah!

Tina Cotreau-Guillot: All this time I thought what is actually a pouf was your hair! I envisioned long locks of hair in a large bun under your scarf. I feel so silly! Thank you for sharing something so personal with us and for bringing more understanding to this topic. Leah did a wonderful job! It is always a good day when you post a video.

Hoosierlady: Thank You Leah for helping your Mother. You were a good model! I am not Jewish, but I will admit since watching you I tried tying one of my scarfs the way you do, and it worked. I think you are a lovely example of an Orthodox Jewish woman. I admire you and Chana from Jar of Fireflies. I also watch a couple of other Jewish vlogs, and some conservitive Christian vlogs. I enjoy learning about your lives. Blessings!!

Raquel Silberman: I love it!! Thank you so much for this video. I feel the same way about wigs. You look beautiful either way. Such a wonderful video. I LOVE JEWISH COVERING. Please, thank your daughter she did an amazing job helping you out. You are love Sarah Malka Shavua Tov!

Gina Cantabene: I love Jewish head coverings! As a cancer survivor whose hair never really grew back I am always looking for pretty alternatives to wigs, which can be itchy to me. God bless you for sharing this aspect of your life with us.

kels bunnychick: Thank you so much Leah! I'm trying to learn how to cover my hair and this was so helpful!

bennie631: Thank you for sharing your faith with us. I found this video particularly interesting as I starting wearing a veil as part of my faith (Catholic) while at Mass or in the presence of a Catholic tabernacle. Leah was a wonderful model during this video and so patient!

JeanieCat: Thank you Leah for modelling! You have lovely hair! I would say that Sarah you are a beautiful woman who looks great in a scarf! I don’t look very good in a scarf so the wig would appeal more to me! Thank you for showing us all about your head coverings. I had no idea it was so complex!

LolaGeek: Wow, your scarf collection is amazing! I think you looked cute in the wig and hat, but I was always confused about why it's ok to cover hair with more hair, so thank you for mentioning that too. The scarves are beautiful and suit you well!
