Everything Needed For A Wig Install 2022 + Stylist Frontal Tips & Tricks

Hey guys, it's me amani and today i'm going to show y'all every single item that you need to do a wig install from start to finish. So if you've been wearing wigs and you've been wanting to just finally do your own or you finally just like forget it, i'm finished hard wig, i'm gon na tell y'all every single thing. You need why you need it where you can get it from, and you know everything i'm gon na have a full shopping list in the description, so make sure you look in the description afterwards, but watch the video okay, don't just come from my shopping list leave. Let'S get right into it, so we all know that the first thing that you got ta do when you're gon na get a wig is prep your hair. You know i'm saying braid it back, get you some straight bags put your hair in, like a slick bag. Ponytail whatever, and then let's do the wig cap method, so what you're gon na need for that is a wig cap. This is my favorite kind of wig cap. If you can get these in your beauty supply store, i would get these. They are big. They have a really thick band, not too too thick but thick enough to where, when you like, cut it and then like put it around the back, it's going to hold up pro tip, get a wig cap. That is too light for you versus too dark. So, to make the wig cap stick, you can either go with my personal favorite, the ors olive oil, wig grip gel super whole. I got this from walmart for like five dollars and when i got it last time i had like a manufacturer coupon. So i got a dollar off boom or you can use the even like wonderlace bond spray. I would say: get the red one. People like this. I'Ve never really tried it for that. I use this for other things, but it's up to you. I will personally say go for this one, but if you want to go for this one, i feel like it's a little bit faster, but it's really really really really messy. With this. This takes a lot longer, though oh you might be like girl. What is that? It'S a comb and look at how it just like you know what i'm saying. Look. You got a comb built into your hand, but what i really like is this part you're going to use the retractable comb to kind of like work, the product into the wig cap and um before you put the wig cap on when you take your ors glue, You want to kind of rub it back into your edges first and then put the wig cap on so this little comb right here is going to it's going to be. It'S really the only comb i use, except for the edges, because it's so it's it's handier for a lot more things, but i need a certain comb for the edges. This hair, all over you i'll, be using i'll, be using the heck out this cone. Next, obviously, you're gon na want a blow dryer or you can air dry. I honestly i air dry and then, of course, you're gon na need some scissors. You know cut your little eye holes out. However, you do your wig cap, you're gon na need some scissors. So while your wig cap is on and you're getting it melted now it's time to prep that wig baby okay, do not laugh at how i look. I'Ve had her for years and she's as you can see, she held it down. You'Re gon na need a mannequin head. If you don't have one of these ones, they're like 20 on amazon, you can probably find one cheaper. I wonder if she has some, you can find something cheaper than that you can get the styrofoam one. If you want to it, just really helps to style on here. So you know when i mean style, i'm talking about plucking, baby you're gon na need some tweezers. Okay. People say to use tweezers that are not brand new, because the new ones are gon na. Be super super super sharp, but if you don't have tweezers with somewhere on them, just get some cheap ones. They'Re gon na wear down faster, just get some tweezers next you're gon na want a white towel. So you know you put the white towel under your wig to pluck it and it helps you see way way way better. This is also something that you're really gon na want some lace tint spray. I got mine from bohol with the taylor crown um collaboration, and i got mine in caramel just spray this over your lace blend it in a little bit with a makeup brush and then get it to your liking and while we're styling the wig a huge thing, You'Re going to need is a hot comb, make sure you flatten out the hair all that stuff. As you can see right here, hot comb, you kneel okay, once the wig cap is done and dry, you are going to need some alcohol. 91 alcohol. I still got this combo because it just literally feels like it's just a part in your hand, i got this from walmart, as you can see, so it's about two dollars. It'S huge. It lasts a very long time. I put mine in this spray bottle and i just like spray it onto cotton pads and then, once you cut the wig cap off, you just want to kind of rub it down to give it a nice even base. So any like residue from the product will come off and it will not affect the install then, when your wig cap is done, if you don't like putting all the foundation on, you can use something like this. The event tinted lace. It'S like an aerosol spray, but let me just show y'all like the way it's pigmented. First of all, i got it way too light, but you see how light it's like a foundation spray versus. Let me show you on my actual lace spray. You see the difference exactly that's gon na go in your lace. That'S gon na go on your cat lace cap. So when i say lace, spray do not be confused. This one goes on your lace. This one will go on your cap. If you need it or you can use like a foundation palette or actual foundation, so once you have your cap, your color and it's all laid down some people. Some people will go back in with this afterwards and like lay down the little line after you cut off the cap, so it's no like line of demarcation or whatever. So you got your wig cap on it's your perfect color, you know it's getting. It should be giving blood, it should be, giving steve harvey we're going to go in with some. This is a skin mask, so it's like a prep spray um. I got mine from akivia, mikhail or michelle. I just bought it, but it definitely. I can tell a difference in my install, so this is optional because obviously i wasn't using it all the time, but you can always use this and it's like 12 hours. I think now, let's get into the application, we are going to take some glue like i said, i really love the akivia michelle products, so i use her super laid adhesive, but i also always will have a spot in my heart for boho active both of these, But most recently i've been using this, but i love boho, active y'all already know i have a review on it and i'll have it up there, because i love a whole active and you want to use like um a craft stick and really like lay it down. She um, you know what i'm saying and she's on for days. If you need like a in depth how to install your wig, i do have one for beginners and i will have it up there, like i said so after we got that on. You do about three layers. We are going to take an elastic band like this like so once again, this is from acivia michelle, but you put this on your lace and it's going to melt it baby even days after your install is going to melt it. This was like five dollars, so don't go out there and spend a whole bunch for one of these. At this point, the wig is going to be on our head. We'Re going to have the elastic band waiting for it to melt. We are going to take a wax stick and a hot comb and flatten it out. Once again, then, for the edges i like to use mousse, i learned this from a keyboard. Michelle other people will use hairspray, so you can use the hairspray and then, like you, know, mold it or whatever, but the biggest thing that you're gon na need. This is optional, but the biggest thing is you're really really gon na need. If you want to get your install looking like you know, the instagram models and stuff y'all knew she was coming the little flat iron. Look at how small it is you just use it flip your edges up. I have a video on how i do mine with this um i'll. Have it in the description or i have it up there, and this one was like twenty thirty dollars from this by store back to the edges, a lot of mousse and you're going to want a comb like this, a comb that starts really tight and then gets To the end, sorry that they looking kind of messy that just shows that i use them, don't look too hard and it gets big at the end. I think they're called barber combs and then lastly, we're going to take off our little edge wrap. You know what i'm saying and get into doing the part. That'S the last part, so you're going to take a concealer palette or some concealer. That is like a little bit lighter than you and you want to take a makeup brush. This is the actual concealer that i use a little cheap one. It'S not even real la girl, nica nikka k, i don't even know girl and this makeup brush and, as you can see, and let me check my list to make sure that was everything i'm gon na have it in the description anyway, but yeah. That'S everything see how quick and easy that was, so all of these products can be found at the beauty supply store. Besides both hold the kevin michelle products and boom this comb from quick fingers. I love this comb. It'S unisex, first of all, because you know biodue distance he's gon na be doing his little waves all day. You know what i'm saying, picking his low hair all day, but for you for your wigs, i already made a video on how i still press my hair with this comb, because i used to use a different comb and it just it wasn't this. This is just literally like it's built into your hands. This is what really gets me. It'S a retractable cone tail. You can put it in. You can pull it out and you can push it all the way out too. You can just pull it right on out and if it does come out, don't be like. Oh, my god, it's broke, it's not broke, it can go right back in and it's really easy to use and it's on amazon. So all the rest of this stuff. You can go to the store, you can take your chances at the beautiful store, but this for sure you need it.
