TIP A QUEEN ON VENMO @nicoleonoscopi

I'M nicola noscope and you're watching my youtube channel: hey, hey, hey! It'S nicole! Welcome back to the channel everyone today, i'm bringing you another tutorial, but this one's gon na be a little different today, we're not styling hair, but rather embellishing it. Yes, i've been rhinestoning wigs for years. A lot of stylists have been riding so many wigs, but i've been seeing it a lot more out in the wild. So i thought i'd show you exactly how i do it. So, let's go so when it comes to rhinestoning. Wigs, i kind of like to break it up and do like a two-step process. Now people ask me all the time when you rhinestone a wig, does it ruin the wig and the short answer is kind of? Yes, i use a strong chemical glue to put the stones on so once that glue is cured and the stones are on there, it's done. That'S how it's going to be for the rest of the wig's life. However, sometimes i'll take an old weight and kind of use the stones to hold the hair in place before i thank the wig for its service and send it on its way. Now this is a fresh wig, but i'm still going to make it into a helmet before i apply those stones so that it will hold its shape and last as long as it can so supplies here's what we need. We need our faithful got to be glued. Blasting free spray, a drag queen's, best friend, truly and a magic potion. I don't know this science and i don't know that this is a hundred percent true. But i have been told - and it has worked wonders for me - that rubbing alcohol and water, equal parts when sprayed onto hairspray will break down the hairspray, make it moldable again and will dry even harder than it was before. I know it sounds crazy, but it seems to work. I hope this works for you as well as it works. For me, it's a little secret you're. Welcome! I'M going to take one more coat of got to be before we deal with the magic potion. Give a nice thorough coat to this wig here here. Let me show you the back. Oh, your back! Oh waves, okay, we're gon na! Let that cook now we're going to take our handy dandy, pick and comb. There love these things, truly the best styling tool. Little section by section we're just going to get the wig wet with the rubbing alcohol and while the hairspray is wet, we're going to really work it smooth it out, get that final shape, make sure to cement down any flyaways that are still left during this process And it'll just glue them right down into place. I'M gon na get in under this curl here and really get that maximum lift in there, because once that dries, it is going to be real hard to rake a brush or comb through that and through. Here. It'S a little piecy, so we're going to try to just comb that together make it as sturdy as possible. All right! That'S looking pretty good in the front! We'Re just going to go along the back here, just slowly dragging the comb not trying to get into the style at all, just smoothing out the flyaways and guiding those curls one last time before they get locked into place. It'S looking pretty good. Now, last but not least, to really lock it in we're gon na break out our blow dryer heat truly is your best friend when you're working with wigs, when you want a shape to hold all right, so i'm going to get the heat going all right now. I wish you could feel just how solid that is, but youtube hasn't invented that feature yet, unfortunately, oh, it's just a brick of hair. It'S a helmet and i think it's ready for some rhinestones. Let'S go okay now it's time for the fun part. Let'S talk supplies now, of course you are going to need your rhinestones. I get these from wholesale rhinestone very affordable, always love the quality of their stones. I'M going to use crystal stones on this wig here per the client's request now for glue. I use e6000, but i find it very helpful to use the little bottle with the precision tips there. Now those precision tips there the little syringe like things, those are going to give you those really fine dots of glue that you want for your stone so that it doesn't get all messy and you don't see the glue now, a lot of folks when they're working With rhinestones will use a crystal katana or you can get the cheap option online. These are just generic little wax sticks here. Look at those they're like five dollars for a hundred of them, much more affordable than like a thirty dollar crystal katana and i'm prone to losing things. The wax sticks are the way to go for me, i'm to pour out our stones into a little dish. My artist palette, you could say, we've got our glue with a little precision tip on and ready to go. Let'S get to designing here we go now when i ran some wigs, i kind of like to follow the contours of the curls. You know so i'm going to start with this big curl right up here and we're just going to start laying down little glue dots. Now you don't want to get too carried away with your glue dots because it is a bit trickier to get these on. Oh, we got the first stone on very exciting, i'm already loving the crystal stones on the black hair. Now, if there's any little pieces that are separating little hairs, glue them right together, it's a wonderful tool. Now this wig is for my best judy saints syndrome. I did that pink wig for her in a previous tutorial, so go check that one out, if you haven't already i've, got several tutorials coming your way soon. So stay tuned and saint, and i we have a weekly all life singing show in portland. So if you are ever in portland on a friday night with nothing to do why come on out and enjoy some live, drag music we'd love to see it. This is really very simple. It'S just a really nice touch just really creates a unique look. You can put in stones that match the color, so you get a subtle bling. Clearly this couldn't be more different and it's a more bold look get to playing folks. Okay, as you can see, i finished that front wave there. Now i'm going to take that and keep that going through the top here. Let'S turn a little just kind of follow the pattern of the curls in the wig bring that down into the front. Thank heavens for these wax sticks. I used to get my fingers so sticky now these stones that i'm using today are size ss 20.. It'S kind of my favorite size to work with they're small, but just big enough that you don't lose them everywhere. Oh, i love that little swoop there. Let'S bring a swoop down onto the side, what do you say so by now? I imagine you get the gist, i'm going to keep decorating away and i'll see you in a bit wow. Wasn'T that fast? Now i'm going to go ahead and scatter just a few random stones in the back really the business section is the front: i'm really liking how it's looking. What do you think sound off in the comments below we're going to scatter some stones and we're almost done? Yeah they look like little stars in the night sky and there it is, the back is all stoned. The front is all stoned, i'm gon na take it off the block and see how it looks on the head. I really like how it turned out. Let me know what you all think: let's see how it looks, and here it is folks, i really love this wig. I can't wait to see it on saint. It is big, it's glam and it's covered in rhinestones. I hope you learned something in this video and i hope you have a lot of fun. Rhinestoning your own, wigs at home, do not forget once your wig is stoned, no more hairspray instead spritz it with your magic potion to keep it fresh, rubbing, alcohol and water. I hope that trick does some good for you. It sure has helped me through the years now, if you like, this video, make sure you're subscribed like comment and share this video and, if you're here to say something homophobic, make sure you comment twice because it boosts my engagement. Thank you all. So much i'll see you in the next one. You

Miss Giggles: Loving the videos - thank you for sharing your tips and tricks! In fact, I'll offer one of mine: I've also been doing drag for *whispers* twenty five years now and rhinestoned hair was a big trend back in the late 1990's when Cher had done it for one of the music videos for "Believe." Back then, they actually sold kits of rhinestones that had a Velcro backing on them - same look without damaging any wigs. They would just slide in to grasp a small amount of hair and they slid out just as easily. Perhaps with so many queens bringing this trend back, we'll see those products return as well - God knows we've had a massive influence on the mainstream beauty industry these last few years!
