Lady Gaga Venus Inspired Wig Styling Tutorial (How To Pin Curl & Stack Wigs)

Today's video is a wig styling tutorial for Lady Gaga's huge wavy modern Aphrodite hair as seen in her VMA's performance, Applause music video, and her ArtRave tour! A lot of you requested this video, I hope you liked it! Let me know what I should do next!

In this video I'll be covering how to curl wigs without rollers but just using your fingers, some tissue and a pin needle, as well as how to tease and stack wigs together. It didn't really turn out perfectly because the wigs I used were too different but hopefully you guys got a good sense of the technique behind it!

Here guys kind welcome back to my channel, as I'm sure you can tell by the title and the thumbnail of this video. This is going to be another wig tutorial for a very popular request. I'Ve been getting. This is going to be tutorial for Lady Gaga's venus hair from the art range, which, if you don't know what that means, looks like this. This is the shirt that I bought a couple of years ago when Lady Gaga came to Toronto as part of her world tour for art pop, obviously being video Gaga. She did a ton of costume changes, but this is probably one of her more iconic looks from the era. It'S a little bit like a modern Aphrodite. With this huge kind of bohemian brown wavy hair, I didn't want to have to buy a whole new wig just for this video, because I knew that I could probably make do with what I had. So I found these two wigs in my collection that I'm going to stock together to get this big hair. Ideally, when you're sucking ways you want to the same wig or at least of the same cotton color, these are totally different. As you can see, this one is a little bit of a darker Brown. This one has dark roots. This one has a light tips and this one is a few inches longer. Luckily, the hair saw that we're trying to go for is kind of messy grungy rough. Around the edges, so it gives us a lot of room to make mistakes which, knowing me, there will be plenty in this video I'll leave some links down in description out to the exact wigs I'm using, but I'm just going to jump into the tutorial alright. So I'm going to start by first styling, this long, dark rooted hair which I'm hoping to use as like the base wig. So I'm going to put the other wig over top to hopefully hide these roots, which I don't want to show. I alredy detangled this and sprained it with some steam off camera eyes tutorial all about that. If you want to check it out so now, the next step is to curl in, and I always use rollers in my videos. But I wanted to show you guys a different method of curling to hair the way that I'm going to curl. This hair is actually just with my fingers, so I'm going to start off by taking a small section of hair like dot size, starting with the ends, I'm going to wrap it around my three fingers just like this and then working my way to the base. So we have just something like that and then I'm gon na grab a square piece of tissue and I'm going to wrap this hair in dot, and this will just ensure that the hair doesn't fall out or anything and then secure this. I'M just going to grab a little pearl head, pin like this and pin it into place. I got this idea from wigs by vanity here on YouTube. He used like a handkerchief or something he called it like a Chuck, which I don't when that ends or if I have one now. The smaller section of hair that you take is going to give you a stronger curl. That'S something that applies to whatever method that you're using, but also the size of your fingers, is going to determine the size of the waves. If you want a more tighter curl, just drop it on one finger, I'm wrapping it around three, because I want a bit of a more loose curl. This is actually the first time I'm trying to smell it. So I don't know how it's going to turn out that if you're watching this, that means it turned out someone well in this footage was usable. So I'm just going to do this to the entire head of hair requires a bit of patience. So I'm going to put on some scandal and watch that and time lapse the entire thing. If I keep working down here, it's because I put on some Netflix while doing this, I started to get into this rhythm that I got totally distracted. I forgot to update you guys on camera, but after you put it all up in the curls, you just hit it with a steamer making sure to get each and every curl alright. So now that this wig is fully steamed, I'm going to let this hair dry overnight, so these clothes can really set in place. But while I'm waiting for this to dry, I'm going to go ahead and do the same thing to my other wig. I had here another little mannequin head. I can use since the other one is in use. This is like the $ 5 version of a real canvas, wig block, but it'll make do for what we're doing alright guys. So once both wigs are up in Carlos and steam they're ready to dry overnight, I'm going to get some sleep. Finally, well either that I'm going to spend the rest of the night watching Netflix and eating ice cream in chests until I fall asleep. But in any case, I'm going to let these dry overnight and I'll be back in the morning all right. It'S been one night, probably around 12 hours, since these crawls we're steamed in place which gives them a lot of time to really set and hold their shape. So now I'm going to take all these curls down and we'll see how it look. So I love how these little tissue paper curls came out. They'Re, loose they're messy they're beautiful a little bit too tightly wound for my liking, but we're going to be brushing it out later on, anyway, after you tease it. So the next step now is to add lots of volume, because it is feeling a little bit flat up here and we want the hair to be really big. I'M not going to be teasing it in any really particular strategy. The point is really just to give us the volume and height the grab your teasing brush and then just get teasing. As you can see, this hair is now really big, but before i smooth this out and style, it I'm going to do the exact same thing. To the other wig taking down all the curls and then teasing it just like this, and then we're going to put them together before smoothing everything out all right, so once both wigs are fully curled and teased is the time to stock them together. So I'm going to take this one off of this head and put it on the other one. Normally, when you're stocking wigs, you would put the top wig somewhere around the crown to really get some height, but in this case since I want to hide these roots around the hairline, I'm going to put it right on the lace fringe. So I'm going to use the combs that are built into the top wig to help secure it to the bottom one as I suspected this top wig is not going to be big enough to cover the entire rooted hairline, which we can make do with, because we Just use bobby pins to keep it down and in place to cover up those roots, but the important thing is turning it around. You don't see those dark roots anymore. Now the problem is going to be smoothing it out and finding some ways to blend this darker hair into this lighter hair around the bottom. So I'm gon na use some pins to lock these two wigs together and you contribute, however, many pins. You think you need in order to keep them securely together, especially here on the hairline, where I want to cover it up. I'M going to take a bunch of this hair up here and I want to have a really big high bang, just like she is right. There and I'm use clips to keep you from falling down and we'll hairspray them later all right. So now that the hairline looks pretty fine, we need to do something about the fastest. Wig is clearly sitting at two different lengths that currently we'll talk about one girl from elementary school, who has really crazy hot extensions. Wait I'm going to fix this. Is I'm going to give the wig a bit of a haircut just make it look like it has tons of different layers so that it doesn't look like two different lengths all right guys, I think wigs pretty much almost done. I just took it off to try it on my head to see like how the proportions look. I really like the way it turned out. I regret it not being a little bit longer, but I think it's better this way than having the two different lengths has just looked weird, the last step now after you've pinned too big together and smooth out all the Tuesday. If that was the way you wanted to it's just a freeze in place with some hair square and a blow dryer, after which I'm going to change into my little lady Gaga, venus costume and I'll, be back later. All right, you guys! This is the finished. Look. I just did some really basic makeup. I didn't even put in my eye contacts to glue down my brows. I love the way it turned out. I'Ll be honest, I wasn't sure if it was going to work out, as I was putting the two weeks ago, I ended up cutting a lot of these lighter ends off of the top wig, so you wouldn't be able to see where one wig stops and the Other started: it helps a lot that the style kind of has a lot of these, like messy texturized waves, to disguise all the imperfections. But I love the way it turned out. I went to Michael's and picked up a starfish and these cute seashells cross to myself a little glitter seashell bra. I just took some what is it called spray adhesive and then sprayed the two downs that have covered them glitter and then hot glue, some elastics on them to make a little makeshift bra? Oh, my god, do you want to know a really funny story when I was in high school, I performed Lady Gaga's applause for my entire school. Just picture me with my busted ass little makeup, not even wearing a wig or women's clothing. I was wearing like a black t-shirt and black pants, but just picture at the end of the performance. This is how I close it check. My microphones threw it on the ground. They are keeping Opie. I might as well have ended it by saying: go: buy art pop on iTunes. Well. Needless to say, our top was an important era for me and Lady Gaga, an important artist. So you know I love doing this video to honor and commemorate one of her most iconic looks if you guys liked it be sure to subscribe for more videos like this one and I'll see you guys next time bye, you
