Floating Lace!! My Lace Front Doesn'T Lay Flat On My Forehead, It Buckles!!

This situation doesn't happen often but when it does the best way to handle it is to exchange it for a new one.

Follow me on my Facebook page for before and after pictures of wigs that I reformed and modified: https://www.facebook.com/rachelswigref...

Hey everyone, it's rachel with rachel's wig reform. I want to talk to you today about floating lace and yeah. That'S the name. I gave it um. That is when the lace across your hairline does not lay flat against um your forehead like it should, and i've noticed um a few pictures that have been popping up on some of our facebook pages with our wig support facebook pages, where people are showing pictures of The lace like buckling or not, laying flat and they're asking what what can i do um. So, first of all, let's talk about what floating lace looks like so this wig you can see that lace does not lay flat. It'S it's buckling up under there. It'S buckling right here and it buckles over here on this side too, you can see where it buckles up. So this is just it's a not it's not laying flat. I mean my finger will go right up under underneath there, without even without even trying it's unfortunate, but it, but it happens now. Do you want to know how you fix it? You send the wig back. That is the way you fix it. There is no way to fix this um. I will see people say soak it in cold water, that's not going to fix it trim it back. That'S not going to fix that some people say tighten up the wig cap adjusters on your cap. Maybe the wig's too big, that's not going to fix that and here's the thing this wig cap fits fits me great, there's, no issues with this wig cap at all um. It fits me very well. So this lace piece in here all i can think of for the reason this happens - is that some of these lace pieces get caught a little too big and then they get sewn in and you're, not gon na know that it's, you know off a little bit Until you put it on um it just it's a weird thing, it doesn't happen a lot. I buy a ton of wigs, and this is maybe the fifth or sixth time that it's happened to me, um. In fact, one time i ordered by accident, jon renau, amber in the large cap and the lace laid closer to my hairline than this does, and that cap was in fact big on me. It was too big. I had to send it back um. Some of my other jon renau or raquel welch, wigs that i had floating lace on those wig caps fit me great also now this wig here is by wig pro and the name of it is called alexis and the color is platinum blonde. So i don't want this to sound like this is like i'm coming down on wig pro, because i'm certainly not i've had this happen, like i said, with jon renau and um raquel welch. This just happens to be a wig that i just received, and i have this issue, so i thought let's talk about the topic um of it um like if you were to trim this. It'S not gon na. Do anything, it's big all the way back. Okay, so cutting that back farther isn't gon na fix it. The other problem is, is some people will say like glue it down? Okay, if i was to take this, i have to put a lot of tension before that's going to go down and then what it does is it just pushes those buckles out to this end? Now you got to push and pull down on these and that's a lot of securing down. That is unnecessary. That'S why i say send it back. I have sent the ones back that i have received with the floating lace and my exchange wig was fine. I didn't have any issues with it at all, so it again it's just one of these random things and it's not about any one, certain manufacturer. This could happen in in any wig um, like i said, they're mass produced. We have to have a little grace every now and then mistakes happen. I know we get excited when we get a wig and we want to wear it, but the few that i have kept and tried to fix, i ended up just putting them in a box and putting them under my bed um. I just didn't want to deal with it, so this is just my two cents on the floating lace issue: send it back get an exchange um. I know some people have like very petite heads and they they might have a wig cap, that's slightly big on them and that lace lays flat, but they just want it to be a little more secure, so they secure it down. That is completely different than this. Like buckling in here um, like i said when i received that jon renau amber wig in the large cap honestly, i could have made that work. I could have put just a little bit of got to be glue on each end and stuck it down, and i would have been fine um, because that wig cap was just a little big on me, but this right here this is just this - is a mishap Of some sort - and you want to send that back and get the exchange on it. So again, this is just my two cents on the floating lace issue and how you can handle it. There isn't really any easy trick to fix it, except for getting an exchange. Okay, all right everyone, and then you know what i'll never order platinum again. It is definitely not my color um, it's my second one that i've tried. I definitely think i need a rooted color and i need more of an ashy or blonde like sleet or silver sun. This is just not my color, so i would have sent it back, no matter what, even if the lace was great across the front. Okay, everyone will talk with you soon.

Michelle Davidson: Your videos are the bomb!!!!! So glad I found your channel!!!!

Liz Lyons: Rachel, I agree with you. I had one Tressallure wig (that I love) with buckling lace. I did keep it because I didn't notice it until I had already had it for a month and never tried it on (mistake!). I was able to use It Stays and correct it sufficiently to wear it, but after listening to your analysis, I do think I should have gotten a replacement. Good advice.

Liz Millner: Thank goodness…never experienced it. Great advice so IF I ever do receive a wig with “floating lace disease” .. well, I now know what to do! Thank you as always.

KA Pirk: Great info!! It’s sad when this happens, but I love the term “Floating Lace.”

A. Germaine: This happens to me often because I must have a very narrow forehead. I use tape on the sides but, most importantly, I sew a ""dart" on the one side of the wig, usually the right side, where I don't wear the hair back. It works very nicely. I learned the technique from a Cysterwigs video that has to be at least 8 years old, when I started to wear wigs.

Thanos fan: Hi Rachel, I have this problem with my loved Zara in malibu but unlikely I cannot exchange it because It was a final sale from a clearance.. any suggestion for this issue if I cannot send it back????

LydAtTheRanch: Thank you, thank you! You saved me lots of money.

brisk4u: my lace never lays flat, no matter what wig or topper. I think my head shape is too small. Drives me crazy.
