Coffee & A Kiki!!! - Rupaul'S Drag Race Wig Recap - S8 E4

Hey everybody it's another bright and early Tuesday morning here, and that can only mean one thing: coffee and a Kiki time. I have transitions lenses and I'm recording this at 8am vs 9 a.m. like. I normally do lasses ain't having it today, but nobody got time for that. Here is my coffee mug of the day, probably one of the ones i've used the most i love this mug has less el polka dots on it, and i made myself a really strong cup of coffee today, because i'ma need it. So this is RuPaul's Drag Race Season, 8 episode, 4 right. Are we on for already yeah? The first thing I noticed when the episode started was the girls coming into the worker when they're talking and talking and whatever and kimchi starts to take her wig off. Still all glued here - and you could see her just peel it off, at least not in that instance she's - not removing her lace fronts with a glue, remover or alcohol to loosen the bond before she's peeling it off of her skin, which can damage and ripple and Warp, your lace, if you're, not careful, so that could possibly be why all of her lace fronts look a little crispy weird right here in the front, this episode didn't have a mini-challenge. They just went straight to the maxi challenge. They just split into teams of three and they'd write and perform an original song in one of three different 80s type music genres and the runway challenge this week was neon realness. So then they just start, you know organizing and they start figuring out their songs and they get together in their groups and of course, that he's there and she's, starting with the other girls about the shapes and everything. But you know, if you have a point, make it that's what I got to say. If you got a point make it when the groups were put together, I really thought that bob and betty and thorgy were actually going to win this whole deal, but then, when they showed them in rehearsal, like bob just didn't, understand it and honestly the whole time. Bob was like this sounds like the beef. If you choose to me, they're corny, I don't shine what you're saying to me in my head. I was exactly thinking the same thing, totally understand how that's corny and theatrical to hit, because to me it's corny and theatrical. I was very nervous for Robby and kimchi and Naomi's grew on. They just didn't really seem to have the energy and they weren't able to connect with the piece in the rehearsal space and then Derek. Was there trying to sing way more than Lucien wanted him to, and while I understand why he's doing it, that's like Lucien says, like he's, the judge he's gon na be judging them. Listen to him! Think of what he's saying and then try to implement it and do it. This episode was kind of quick like leading up into the performance and the runway, which I kind of like when they do that. All right, I need a coffee break before we start looking at this stuff and then RuPaul comes out and she's in that beautiful, like royal blue sequins pants with a little peplum skirt. I know they're called sequins, i'm making a joe and then that gorgeous like asymmetrical mohawk with like the pink streak in it all the way over. Here to me, it's very baby spice spice world tour. I had the doll baby spice. What'S my favorite, so not angry about it at all, so first things first about Betty she's wearing her pink up. Do again, that's fine! I love this wig. I think it's really pretty. I'M not a huge fan of the rainbow Muppet jacket. I do like the geometric. Almost like a carrot earring, I like that, and she has almost what looks like an 80s version of a 50s prom dress on her body. Michelle says something about it later saying: I don't understand what your outfit was and I kind of agree with that. So then we go to Bob this pattern on Bob right now I am obsessed with I swear my mother had that same exact pattern when I was a kid in one of those over shirts that has like the blouse built into it. So it's really only one ship, but it looks like you where to I love her zigzag earring. I think that's really cute. I love like the little mod Bob. She has that to me reads so: 80s new wave so 80s, not really a huge fan of the belt, but I do like the little bow tie. I think that's really cute and I'm really I'm really loving 4 g's, like puffy coat right here, very Kids Incorporated. I loved it and she has like a squiggly earring and a purple lip otherwise. Her face looks great. I really like her eye makeup, hear her thorgy, it's subtle. I love her pyramid hat, it's very cute. I, like the polka dots on it and I like her little orange cutoff finger glove as well that keep little touch. I thought they were. They were really good with being in sync, with each other and they're really good with the choreography and everything I'm not surprised. Oh god, the video is being really dumb right now I don't know. What'S going on so derek has a square on his head Derek. Can we talk about this wig? Like I really hate to say, it really looks like a five dollar costume shop. Bob the color is terrible kind of just like I bleached my hair myself. I don't know how to tone. It is kind of what it looks like to me. I do love the silver leather jacket. I think that's really cute. I do like the necklace a lot. I'M loving chichis look. I love that asymmetrical hair. Textures really great. I love the the hot pink hair sprayed in there. I like her little gold vest and her shirt is a little basic. The necklace is definitely very basic. Her face looks great and I makeup looks fierce. I love that orange and yellow don't like the brows this week and me some arch in there. But that's me I do have to say that when neisha came on the screen I was laughing hysterically because I kind of love it like she looks like an 80s rock Barbie with a third of the hair. It conscious looks like a way that they took out of a bag and they shook it a few times put it on her head and put some pink hair spray on it. I think I could have a little more body and volume in it. I remember being very much impressed by chi Chi in this, not really feeling it with either of them, and that's like these people in the audience that where do they get these people from their never into it. They'Re always just like. Oh I'm here on television right and then third is Robbie, kimchi and Naomi and honestly this whole group blew me away. I was so impressed. I was definitely impressed most with Robbie's performance. I'M not a huge fan of this hair on Robbie. I definitely know what wig Robbie is wearing and it's basically fresh out of the bag. It'S one of the wigs that knee and pretty much everyone else in the world of wigs right now is selling. He didn't judge it Ortiz it or do anything to it at all. I love Robbie's outfit. I love the leopard. I love the leather, I love the double belt. I love the necklace, not a huge fan of the red flower in Bobby's wig, but I understand he's trying to tie himself together with the other two wearing those red burgundy, wigs Kim Chi's makeup looks amazing, amazing, it's so refreshing to see Kim Chi without that crazy. Over drone, I something a little more natural for drag, but it's it's still crooked and I'm still seeing a lot of flap right here. I'M starting to think now that with kimchi with the wigs being crooked and all of her wigs are quaffed and dressed are all consistently crooked and the rainbow one she wore last week was kind of just like I snatch back with another wig on top, which I'm Assuming she did herself that one was on perfectly straight. All i can assume is that she's getting these wigs styled for her and the part isn't exactly where she would want it to be on her head, so she's adjusting them to sit with the part where she wants it. But then it throws off the hairline and it can throw off the proportion of the rest of the wig by wearing a crooked she's, showing us that she's not always an anime cartoon character, and I love that Bravo kimchi. Bravo, um Naomi. I thought Naomi looked good. I feel like kind of against the other two. She was a little lost her wigs on straight. Oh, my guess is our wig is on straight. She is a little corset, a tiny little panty and a just skin and a bra like she looks great though she looks great. It'S just she naked. So now we're back in 24, the runt way girl, Derek Barry's up first and this outfit. I have a lot of issues with overall economy ins version of Willam and Marco Marco a couple years ago, like the hair color, the outfit, the silhouette, the train. It kind of just reminds me of that. Just putting the hip pads up a little higher it'll make the legs look longer. Derrick Barry this wig right now, it's shiny, it looks cheap, doesn't have any style to it. It'S not dressed shake and go, and it's not it's not attractive like it's not cute. At all, I can't even tell the color it is spray. Some dry shampoo spray, some hairspray, something to rough up, that texture get rid of that shine and the makeup, like the makeups, really basic this week too. I I'm just not impressed neisha. I am in love with this, like lizardy painted airbrush bodysuit. I love it. I remember watching whatcha packin with Michelle when she got eliminated and she pulled this dread this outfit out, and I thought it was so beautiful. I love all the detail on it. I love how bright it is not a huge fan of the hair for this, i'm just i'm not feeling that color or the style of it chi Chi, devayne um. I really love this hot pink. Look on her. I love the color of the wig and how it ties in with the rest of the outfit. I do agree with Michelle that it's very basic there's, not one rhinestone, no glitter, nothing on this outfit. I don't understand why you're wearing hip pads you wearing tights you're shaving. Why aren't you wearing boobs you're on TV girl, but I'm learning to really like her and I'm. I want to see her go far because I knows she can once she gets the means to do so. Ok, and then kimchi comes out. I love this outfit. I love the the hot pink and the yellow green of everything. But again, her wig is crooked because of the style should be like this and the styles kind of like this, it's not enough for it to be asymmetrical. It'S crooked! This is where her black line is. The widow speaks over here, so the widow's peak isn't even in the middle of her black and white line, but the color of that wig is gorge. I think that's the hottest pink color that i sell. I love her little ruffle and again. I think that she could be cinched either cinched a little more or bigger, boob and bigger hip. I feel that she's very boxy. Still I don't like the fact that the hare and little ruffle guy are the exact same color because it makes it it closes off. Her face, and it almost makes it look like she's wearing a fake beard. I love the idea of this dress. Robbie turner. I love me some wreck wrak, like put it on everything. I love it kind of look like Cinderella's stepsisters, which I don't mind. I do like the fact that he took a very period outfit and made it that fun color. I think that's very unique and that's a really great idea, um, just not a fan of the hair, I'm obsessed with Naomi's outfit this week. I love her bright neon. Yellow double-stack wig with the visor and the final and the bracelets like she looks like a doll she's a Barbie, and I love that she's, like that 80s neon Barbie and I love her Madonna pointy bra and I love like the vinyl shine of everything. Okay, that's a better girl. This is so cool. How much time did they have in between looks to completely repaint their faces, God the blending, and she has the little stencils that she likes to uh. The colors of this were beautiful and i love the sheaf made her entire body and face that like lizard neon green, I love it. I love the paint job here. I'M not a huge fan of the dress that she's wearing over the body suit, not a huge fan of that, but the hair is awesome. I love the square balls down the bat i love putting hair into non hair shapes. I think that is very cool and that's awesome and i love the yellow zigzag drizzle through it. I think that's very cool to those like 3d lashes that are coming out of her head. Oh those are so cool. I love those a lot. Okay, so thorgy. I love the yellow green that she's doing. I do agree with Michelle that she is a little bit too much going on. She was doing like a 60s mod. I agree. I feel that she just I feel, as she had too much going on on her face and it's kind of like a for me. I'M not a huge fan of it this week, thorgy, i'm sorry girl. You know i love you not really feeling it okay and then Bob the drag queen. I'M I'm kind of at odds with this, like I like the idea of it, but it's not neon enough. For me, this is like an easter egg, yellow there's, no pop. It'S not me on top it's kind of just like a poop yellow. I do love the hot wax dripped on our head or whatever. That is, I think, that's a very cool choice. I love the yellow lip. I'M not a fan of the collar with the square boat neck of the drought of the gown lashes. Look good as a whole. I'M not loving. This pant dress, just I'm not I'm not digging it. I was really happy that Robbie finally, one especially after being in the bottom last week, very very happy with that, and then we get down to the bottom three and it's it's derek and chichi and nisha together. Honestly, i think that it should have been chi, Chi and Derek. I feel that Nisha yeah, her look in the in the performance wasn't great, but I feel like her runway should have saved her. The other two girls were basic with their runway and then the lip sync started and she took her freaking shoes off and I'm like girl. You take your shoes off. You go home if you did, that in miss continental, took off your shoe and ripped your hair off. No like that's, not know, and then chichi got up there and she's doing them back, flips doing them front flips doing them. Cartwheels, like she's going in and her wig barely fell off it slipped back a little bit. You got ta, pin your wigs on. Ladies, you got ta glue your wigs on, like I was sad to see her go, but at the same time it's like you're, beautiful and you're, very talented to what you can do. I just I don't feel that she's on the same level as the other girls as a whole, you know she's got the outfits, but the second that it was those two I knew chichi was gon na, save it and she was gon na stay, and that's probably Why they didn't put it to be chichi and Derek Derek would have gone home and they want Derek around. They need the pretty fishy girl around every season. They need it. So it's what it is reality TV everything happens for a reason.
