So my model amber has joined my channel today and is so gracious enough to let you guys in on her experiences and her troubles dealing with a nervous disorder called trichotillomania, where you pull your own hair out, let's get into it. What'S going on guys, it's your girl, easy breezy and i'm back with another hair sponsor, not a new one. By the way, this company is not new to my channel at all. Thank you so much west kiss they sent me a 13x4 body. Wave 180 density lace front wig. Well, my name is amber smith, i'm from atlanta georgia. My hair disorder is called trichotillomania. It'S a disorder where you pick out just any hair like say your eyelashes or your eyebrows and, of course your hair. So yes, as you all already seen, i've been inviting models with all types of hair loss on my channel to have the opportunity to just come, enjoy themselves and get their hair done. I'Ve seen a lot of different cases of alopecia, but this is the first time i've ever seen and really even heard about trichotillomania. Now i've seen something about pulling your own hair out like a long time ago. It was like this special on this like little baby girl that was pulling her own hair out, but i've never seen it in adults and it's just very interesting to see just really what people can go through like you'll, never really know what people are going through. So i'm just happy that i can do this for amber and just do something new, because she told me she never had her frontal before so right now i am applying the lace glue. Of course, this is liquid lace, glue that you can get on galaxygirlhair.com. So what i have to do is really create a hairline where i you know see fit for her and at the time i was doing this. I really could not see like even a lick of hair, so i didn't have an idea of where her natural hairline was. But it's funny like now that i re-watched this video. I can really see her hairline like clear as day now, and i was a little bit too far back, but it listen. It'S okay, the wig came out great and she was satisfied. I was satisfied, so it's not a big deal, all right cool so now that that first layer of glue turned clear. I'M gon na go ahead and apply our second coat, and i'm gon na remind you guys, don't wait too long. You know to apply this lace, because if the glue dries, then the lace is not going to stick so just wait till it turns clear, and once you see it clear, that's how you know it's time to stick the lace on and i know y'all are seeing Me do a second coat in this video and y'all. Normally, don't see me do it, but i put two coats on all models like period. Unless i'm doing a lace closure, then i just do one coat, because it's not that deep but yeah. I always do two coats. I do the second coat off camera just to save time and avoid all that extra. You know editing and talking and stuff, but yeah always do two coats, because that's just you know the safest way. That'S how i do it. Some stylists put on five or some put on three. You know, but i have met a stylist that uses five coats of glue like i thought that was kind of crazy all right, so the lace is stuck on there. Okay, it ain't going nowhere. So i'm going to take my brush and brush out any loose hairs. So today we were kind of indecisive about the hairstyles we didn't know. If we were going to do a half up, half down side, part middle part. We were first going with the half of half down, but then i was like, i feel, like a middle part, will suit this wig and just hairstyle and just the mood better. For some reason i don't know so we're going to do a middle part with baby hair, of course, and i'm going to do some barrel curls to give it some body some curl and make it real fluffy. Now the hair is really really full, and i know that you know it's never a problem that a wig is full, but the top was kind of thick. So i was scared that it wasn't going to lay even after i molded it. So i kind of put a lot of foam on it and i put like layers of foam on it because tropical roots, it's like a sticky foam, it's made for natural hair and, like people, use it to do their lock retwist, so it holds really good. So you know just to make sure that it's nice and flat on both sides, i put like a lot of foam on each side. I even i even cut some footage out of me putting foam continuously on each side because i just want it to lay flat like i don't want no problems all right so now that that's done, let's wrap her up and sit her under the dryer and i'm Gon na put her under there for a good, solid 20 minutes. Now sometimes i only like you know let people do like 10 or 15 because i'm like i'll just blow dry the rest, because i don't want people to just melt under the dryer. But i need to make sure her mold is like dry dry, because you know i'm really a little bit concerned. I just want it to be nice and even and flat on both sides. Like i don't know, if it's this situation here but have y'all ever seen, a wig that is like the hairs are placed on the wig in one certain direction like all going like, for example, to the left hand side right. So when you part it in the middle, it's like one side b flat and the other side is like always like not as flat. So you know you got to do a little extra. You know you got to mold it good. You got to put the hot comb on it like you got ta make sure it's flat flat. Okay, amber okay! I see you girl all right, so this is already looking cute. We really could've did straight if we wanted to, but i wanted to do some curls. You know give her some body and stuff, so i pulled out my one and a half inch barrel. Curlers - and these are actually from andes - and i got these on amazon.com and to be honest - y'all will probably never see me do curls without pinning them up, because this is just how you keep them curls in you know what i'm saying like. If you do curls and let them drop most likely when you comb them out, it's just going to be a wave like a loose wave. It'S not going to be really curls at all, so make sure you pin them up, so they can set and cool down. While they're in that form and they'll be bouncier when you release them all right, y'all, it's the grand finale, so i'm taking out the pink curls and they're looking shiny and bouncy and light, and just pretty so. I can't wait to call my mouth because that's my favorite part, i love sculpting, because i wasn't always good at it like i used to be kind of insecure about curls and doing middle part curls, because i'm like i can never make both sides like it's symmetrical, But as i kept doing it, you know you really get a hang of it and if you have to take your curling iron and redo some curls just to make both sides look the same, then you know just got ta do what you got ta do all Right, i am all finished, i feel like a burning person. This was probably one of my best experiences ever and especially trying to frontal for the first time. This experience, really, you know, opened my eyes up to a lot of stuff, especially sharing my story with you. All man amber you look beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your journey being brave enough to show us your hair and let us in a little bit on your life.
