I'Ll write you Bob viously Serge's want to be telling you guys about the three different ball cap methods that I like to use and three different ways and the three different ways: the three different ways and the three different reasons why you should use these methods and When you should use these methods so number one the holding spray method, so, of course, this is probably one of the most common ones that you guys have seen all across YouTube all across Instagram Facebook, Twitter wherever and basically what you would do is just pull the Cap all the way down and spray all of this right here, spray spray spray all around the hairline all around the ears and then sit under the dryer until it's completely dry. But let me tell you the reason why I really don't like that method. Is the simple fact that holdeth break contains hella alcohol, so much alcohol to the point where you're not gon na, have no healthy hair under there? If you keep using this method - and the reason being is because alcohol, of course we already know what alcohol does, it drives out, your hair, anything that's the alcohol product it dries. Your hair out is not healthy for your hair. So if you wear wigs, consistently and you're using this technique, I want you guys to drop it. Please drop it completely, because it's not healthy because it contains too much alcohol in these products. These products are simply just for styling hair, like styling your wig, trying to do volume Styles, trying to get your hair to lay a certain way by this is strictly for just freezing screaming holding the hair like you, do not want to do this actual natural hair, Because if you keep wearing wigs, keep wearing, we keep using this method. You not gon na have no hair under there at all. So if you wan na have healthy hair under your wigs stop using this method, don't use it. I mean use up to you at the end of the day, I'm just trying to educate you, I'm trying to help you out so the second method that we're going to be talking about. But, first of all let me get back into that. Other method that I was telling you guys about so the holding spray method - you would be you guys, would be spraying your edges back like that and then, after that, you would literally be pulling this cap down and spraying. All of that, like that's, that's not good! That'S not healthy for your hair and I've realized cuz. I'Ve done this method before don't get me wrong. So if you see your old video, if you happen to see your old video on my channel and I'm doing that method, please don't be alarmed because I used to do that method. But as I you know, grew, and I did different things and I experienced life as a whole when it came down 6 um to laying these wigs down. I realized that that's not healthy for you to be doing. That'S not healthy for your hair, that's not healthy! For your edges, so don't do that method at all now we're gon na move to the second method. So the second method that I love to use is going to be the styling gel method and the reason why I, like the styling gel method, most likely, you know most importantly, the reason why I like this method, it's not only purchase my brand, my baby, but Just because it's safe for all hair types, any hair type, any hair line, anybody can use this method and it's effective and it's efficient and this particular styling gel of mine, the stuck-on new styling gel by Erika J. It has vitamin E oil in it. If you don't know what item in each order pause this video right now in press vitamin E oil benefits on Google, that's all I have to say, but besides that you can use any jail of your choice. It'S up to you. However, if you don't decide to use my jail, my styling gel, you can absolutely use the eco styler gel, which I would recommend. I don't recommend you guys use the gots to be gel. Like I said, I used to do this method, but when you know better, you do better. I don't use this. I don't use the gas to be brand like that on my own personal, you know hair line on my clients because it breaks your hair off. It'S so unhealthy guys. It breaks your hair off that gel and that free spray don't have no type of benefits or no nutrients for your hair. So please don't use that method. If you love your hair and if you want to take care, your hair and you love your edges and you love your hair, don't do that my thing, so what you would do you would get the gel! You will get the gel gel your edges back blow-dry. It and then, after that, you will bring your cap up, make sure you cut holes and your cap boom-boom get the gel and lay it on down just like that and sit under the dryer that right there that right there that right now, that method is very Beneficial, but I'm gon na tell you which hair lines that I like to use, and I would suggest you guys to use that method on you can use the Ordnung any kind of hair line. But I'm not gon na lie to you guys. If you pressed for time, don't use that method. We don't use the next method. That'S coming up after this one. If you pressed for time, don't use that method, because getting the gel to dry and get in the ball cap to really melt down on in it's gon na. Take you about 35 minutes for your edges to dry and for the action cap to mow down. So if you press the time you're just trying to move real, quick, don't use that method. However, you must use this vector if your clients suffer from severe hair loss if they have alopecia traction alopecia any of those like if they just have like a naturally thin hairline, or they just have naturally thin hair or soft hair. You want to make sure that you use the styling gel technique only because if you use that freeze spray technique, like I told you before, don't use that technique, because what's gon na happen, you're gon na dry, your hairline out so bad you're gon na dry, your Hairline out your client turnout out so bad to the point. When you keep on wearing those wigs you're, not gon na have any hair or any edges. I still have my hair. Yes, my forehead is really big, but don't make it don't don't get confused because baby. I got edges and I got hair. I just was born with a big-ass forehead. As you can see, I always had a big ass here in a big forehead. However, if you love your hairline, if you love your clients, don't use no styling gel from guys like don't use that free spray met they own them at all. If you love your clients, don't use that free spray method, because if they already have a naturally thin hairline, naturally soft hair, if you are very familiar with different hair types, I'm talking about their real real soft they're, real, real, really really soft, like baby hair, don't Use that styling free spray technique on them, because it's it's going to be dry, their hairline out it's going to dry, their hair out and being that they already naturally have soft thin hair and if they have alopecia or any type of severe hair loss, do not Use that technique on them. Please use the styling gel technique on them, because it's safe, it's friendly, it's nice and it's healthy for them. At the same time, now number three number three number three number. Three, the best one to me now number two and number three go neck-and-neck and they run naked neck. They ain't competition with each other, but I'm gon na tell you a difference between number two and number three, the difference. 420 number two or number three is because if you really want your wigs to last super super long and you want to get wet, you might be a person that sweats a lot whatever the case may be. You want to go on ahead and keep number three, and if you press the turn, like, I told you in the technique before this one. If you press the time you want to use this technique instead, this is number three instead, because it's gon na be perfect. For you and if you or your client may want to wear your weight for three to four weeks at a time or two to four weeks at a time, make sure you use this technique, and this just happens to be the technique that I'm going to be Using today, so I'm going to do it in real time or y'all. You want to make sure that you do clean your skin off with alcohol, not so much your hair, but around your skin. That'S the most important part: try not to really focus on putting the alcohol on your hair because, like I said, like I told you guys, it's going to dry your hair line out. However, if you or your client may be in one of those situations where you do have - or you actually own your hair line in your hair, yes, you will absolutely have to go in with the alcohol. Oh hold up. You see how late this gel got. My edges like get into it, but if one of those times do occur where your client does have or you because I know you know some people they like to leave growth oil on their hair, you would have to go in either with alcohol or sea breeze. Sea breeze will be way much more. You know safer versus alcohol in the hair, so go ahead and use some sea breeze and you can clean the oil out. I just took some of the homies on skin guard and sprayed it on top of my cap. You also want to spray this on your skin before you put the cap down as well, and what I'm doing now is taking some of the whole new zone adhesive and going across my hairline to create this ball cap meltdown install a lot of people. Have it misconstrued thinking that using this method or putting glue on your edges in your hairline is going to take care of hair out, but that's absolutely not true. This is what it will look like before drying and then after drying. It'S completely clear, like I said it's all up to how you take care of your hair, how long you were your installs and what you do when it comes down to the removal process. I do so a remover. It'S like a whole system. The skin guard that he said in the remover, it's all on my website and what I'm showing you guys now is saying that you can just go in the back and sew the cap down if you wanted to. But I personally don't do that because I like to go up under my cap and under my wig and scratch my hair and sometimes I like to all your my braids as well, but you're just going to go in with the foundation. That'S your shade or a little bit darker and just create that ball cap look usually when you would use the spray cap method by using the holding spray. Usually, when it comes about time for you to start to cut your cap around the edges, you guys will start to notice some pilling in these areas and your cat will start to roll back that ain't gon na happen. When you use this method - and I showed you guys exactly how to do it - then you're gon na take your makeup you're, going to make sure if you want your installs to last. That'S especially if you want to get wet, you may be a heavy sweater, make sure you're using an oil-free makeup if you're using a makeup that has a lot of oils in it. Your girl ace is not going to last because no matter what glue you may be using it's not gon na last because of the simple fact that all you and I heat them does not mix. Then once you start to sweat and then once you start to get with your own natural oils, mixing in with the makeup or use your makeup, I mean your install just gon na lift up boom BAM, so quick, one more technique. I want to talk to you guys about. I have done this technique on my channel a few times and it's when I don't use a ballcap method at all. I just you know spray. My edges back make sure they'll just make sure they're there gel down, make sure my edges are gel down, and I just literally put the glue around my actual hair line, like my actual skin. That'S something that technique is something that you want to do. If you only want your install to last, maybe a week or so, if you want a long-lasting install, especially a waterproof, install or install that you want to last, and you may be a sweater or anything like that, you work out whatever the case may be. Make sure you're using a ball cap net the install, if you want a long-lasting, install if you're, just doing the method, where you're just putting the glue around your hairline without any cap or any foundation. Your install is not gon na last at all, it's gon na last, but maybe like a week or so, but anything longer than that. You want to make sure you use the second or the third method that I talked to you guys about, and this is the finished results from what my hair came out like, and I did do a tutorial on this look. It will be coming up after this video that you are currently watching and if you just so happens to see this later on down the road, it will still be in the same order. Please make sure you subscribe, leave a comment and I'll see you guys. Next time,

Lauren Woods: I enjoy watching her grow, she went from using other brands to being able to choose from a BRAND OF HER OWN! I also appreciate the fact that she doesn’t mind sharing techniques that she uses. Some people don’t understand...It’s enough heads for all of us to eat lol

Taylor Lee: Just bought a new wig and I planned on applying the wig with the melt method myself for the first time ever! This video came just in time!!

Andrea Dorsey: ThisiswhyI am anEricka Jsubscriber !! I have been actually experiencing these problems and here you come with the solutions! I haven’t seen anyone address these exact problems especially the cap rolling back! ‍♀️ Thank you, thank you, thank you, for helping us preserve the health of our hair under the wigs and for helping us extend the life of our installs! ✨✨✨

Wonderful: When I received your products, I used method #3. I traveled to Louisiana to remodel my moms home. By days ends I would be drenched sweating from working and that Louisiana heat. When I tell you my wig DID NOT MOVE. I was there for 7 days. When I made it back home I dipped my whole head in patio spa. THE WIG DID NOT MOVE. Lol. Your products are amazing. I even notice my hair line was not dry.

Deidre Andrews: I was wondering why my edges were snatched ! Got To Be GONE ! ‍♀️

prem love: Ericka you have changed the game in this hair industry!!! Love watching your channel because I see the love and dedication you show in educating others...you've been inspiring me for years because you've learned the game of business. Keep Inspiring and Shining! Love you Cousin

NightBlossom: Teach the children honey! you have been detailed and extremely informative since DAY ONE!! As someone else mentioned, watching you grow has been a joy and learning from you has been so beneficial. I hope to see you with your own school or something making multi millions one day.

That Mod•ish Life: "When you know better, you do better!" Come on Sis! I love that you're educating us about products not just selling a product. You got a new customer and Sub! Keep up the amazing work!

Lil China: I received my ORDER THANK YOU!!! YALLLL IF YOU HAVENT TRIED HER PRODUCTS YOU ARE MISSING OUT!! First off let me tell YOU,,,,,THIS GLUE IS THE TRUTH MY WIG AINT MOVING AND IN 90 degree heat still ON!!! I still have my edges when I got the glue on them!!! The glue wasn’t clumped up sticking to my hair. With The remover it came right OFF!!! The scalp protection I love that too!!! Erica you are right about that Got to be glued I’m done with it...Thank you

Kelsey Robinson: You’re success is still so inspiring sis. I know your grandma is proud, thank you for your hair tips guidance lol

T.K.: First of all I just want to say thank you. I was out in these YouTube streets and found this video. It's detailed. I am really glad you explained why NOT to use the G2BG. I appreciate you pushed your product but said, "Hey, you can use Echo Styler Gel. I am VERY appreciative that you mentioned the method works well if you're a heavy sweater and if you want to swim. I workout daily. DAILY and my sweat can cause a flood. Plus, it's summer. I like to take a dip in the pool or ocean and submerge my whole body (this black girl swims). I will be trying your method. I do pray it works appropriately. I am just very happy you educated us.

Kateria Williams: You don’t understand how much you just blessed me and my edges sis. OMG!!! I’ve been doing hair since I’ve been in middle school. I’m 23 yrs old. I’ve never had clients who have thin hair lines, alopecia etc. BUT I myself have that baby super soft hair like you explained. My edges can be easily ripped away by the smallest things and it always caused me to have to do big chops on my hair or have to just simply wait for my edges to come back. It’s crazy because my hair grows back extremely fast so I always know they will be back in no time but I never have been able to experience having healthy hair and full edges for a lon period of time like I should. Thank you so much. God bless you, you seriously educated me and just changed my life for the better because I needed answers! I always wear wigs and crochets for protective hair styles on my short hair since I cut it all of for the second time last yr. It’s been a long journey because of me messing up my edges so much! Now I can turn that around & throw that crap away!

NightBlossom: Also, your glue is EVERYTHING! I have been wearing wigs for about a decade and tried everything on the market. Stuff that costs double and triple what you are charging for your product. But unlike those, yours actually does what it says, lasts long, when I’ve gotten wet all I had to do was hit it with a blow dryer and even 1 layer still gives a good 3-4 day hold in Oklahoma heat. It was my first purchase and everything was fantastic, start to finish. I will be purchasing your entire line.

aleesha taylor: You are such a God sent!! I’ve been doing installs on myself for almost a year now and this is one of the things I struggled with perfecting so this video could not have been better. You’re one of the first and ONLY channels I go to for tips and tricks on how to get that BOMB Ericka J melt

Afro Sensual: METHOD 3 CHANGED MY LIFE OMG!!! Finally someone who gives the tea and actually teaches vs just selling. WE LOVE TO SEE IT

Ally A.: I just bought my first wig and everything seemed so overwhelming. Thank you so, so much for this amazing video, it’s so informative and makes me feel line I can do it myself! Definitely going to be purchasing your products and I’m so glad I found this before buying got2be.

Loved82: I just want to say congratulations on everything you have your hands on. You deserve it I recall reaching out to you for a hair do and you was the most humblest person ever. I see from your ig you have did a lot of person growth in your life and it fits you well. But can you help a sister out with how u moved on and when you knew enough was enough after so many years invested? I just want to genuinely be happy as well

Precious P.: Girl this video saved my lifeeeee! I made my first frontal wig 2 days ago and yesterday I needed to wear it and my cap kept lifting at the last minute! But honeyyyyy I came home and tried to install it using that #3 method and she is here to stay!

Talya Octavia: I love watching your videos and getting these bomb tips I ordered almost everything ( the gel was sold out ) in this video . Keep being great

Jonisha Delice: Girl you definitely helped me I always used got 2 be spray and I’ve realized my edges thinned out more I didn’t know exactly why thank you so much I learn so much EVERYTIME I watch your videos

Oh Ok: I think you have saved my hairline. Everytime I used the got 2 be glued freeze spray or gel my hairline always felt very sore/irritated while wearing my unit and after removing my unit. Thank you for this video!

Chana Bell-Johnson: I have learned alot from you. I've been making and installing my own wigs now by watching your videos. Your a great inspiration and teacher!♡ Thanks

Tyra James: I been wondering why my lace ain’t been laying right!! I used my maybelline fit me foundation to tint my lace and it be lifting all the time embarrassing me‍♀️ smh I’ll definitely try techniques 2 or 3 in the future. Thanks for sharing♥️

Antonette O: Thank you for doing this video I appreciate you always taking the time to explain the process. Letting us know there are different ways. I bought the hold me down and can't wait to use it. You will be blessed for being genuine and sharing ( other people tend to not want to give up their secrets) you always share and when you find a different method or better method you share

kimberly turner: Thank you so much for this I have 2 beautiful units that I had made for me. I was so scared to install it myself because I felt like I would mess it up, this came just in time! I have a little more confidence now! Lol, thank you!!

SimplyyMalii: Omg this video couldn’t have been any better. I usually use method #1 when I’m doing my hair and always wondered why my cap keeps peeling & rolling up once I cut it. Whole time I’m thinking I’m doing it wrong Method #3 looks so much easier & looks JUST like skin

Sharifah D: Absolutely love this....I actually love the way it looks natural without the excessive amount of baby hairs. Hate that. This is perfect . Well done.

Jazzie Hunter: I’m so disappointed in myself because I’ve been doing stuff wrong the whole time ! ‍♀️ I have filled my cart up with all the products I will need from you it’s on now !!!

Monica Cooper: Thank You Erica! I Love You and how informative you are! Keep up the "Great Work" you do for your client's and your subscriber's ‼️

Citrine Stone: I’m loving everything your doing right now I’m too broke and a bit new to the wigs, but, I REALLY want to try your products. I’ve been supporting all black creators, models, artists, designers and skin/hair care lines ☺️‍♀️ We don’t get enough shine frfr

Sophie Smith: I really love Ericka ..she like my long big sister who I would love to meet in person. She seems so warm and welcoming. Ericka really has taught me a lot and I haven't yet installed my own wig until I have received all her products. Now that I have gotten all products I shall do my own install.

lavender carmel: Her face is so clear and pretty.

janise DANAE: She about to get me all the way together!!!! Her products just came in yesterday, I never glued my wig down on my own, but im about to! Let's pray!

It’sPure Joy: Thank you for always being humble and not keeping the game to yourself ❤️ Literally just ordered 2 of your products can’t wait for them to arrive

Jayda Smith: Yup it’s true the got 2b freeze made my edges GONNEEE!! and I had little bums around the hairline filled with pus and everything. But my edges are now growing back again and I dropped the spray so what holding spray will you recommend?

Kaye ❤️: Wow I’ve experience the breakage of my hairline from the got to be glue so thank you for giving other options . I’m new to your page and I will be purchasing your products soon

Chè Chanel: You are a blessing like everything that you do for people I appreciate you. Your talent & your growth & sharing it with us ❤️❤️❤️

shellyystyles: Looked so good!! And when your products get back in stock, I’ll definitely be ordering some things! I don’t know if you have a video about what you do to your hair before the install (cornrows, moisture, that type of stuff), but if you don’t, could you do a video on that?

Gail Hopkins: Mrs. Ericka J. Is simply gifted with Knowledge& know what she knows & so willing to share. Her Honesty is so refreshing in a Gru!. Keep on giving us goals to to do what ever we are STRIVING, hair, trips, homes, ( YOUR Success!). we THANK U. For going for your dreams! They are inspiring others!. Crafting with Kandor: I wish I would’ve seen this before going to target and buying exactly what you told us NOT to buy My order is coming soon!!

Everything Maddie: I love love love the glue method to secure the cap. I noticed sometimes I don’t even have to replace my cap with every install & that saves so much time as well! Thank you ❤️

MUA.MISTRESS: LMAOOOOO LOVE HOW YOU BEGGING US NOT TO USE THE FREEZE SPRAY METHOD “ if you love your hair and ya edges n you love taking care of ya hair please don’t use that Method “ ❤️❤️ DROPPED BARE GEMS

Epris Richardson: I need this video last week. The first time I used Gots 2 Be, it took my edges and I just left my hair in a simple two twist style until they grew back. I just thought I removed the lace wrong. I haven't noticed much hair loss this time around, but I was risking it for sure.

Sabrina Faye: So informative! I love to see videos like this from you explaining things for people that don’t know about hair!

Pattie Pepper: You are so beautiful! Thank you for your generous heart and KNOWLEDGE, girl! This is the first day I'm watching you and you're sooooo helpful!. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! <3

Thea Scott: Hi Ericka! I just received my products last week and applied my wig on Friday night. We are 3 days in and so far so good! I do have some questions! 1. I am still a bit confused about how much lace to cut off. Like, I don't want to cut too close to the hairline, but I also don't want a significant amount of lace with no hair on my head. Can we have a zoomed in view of how you cut and lay the lace? 2. How do you wash your face? Do you experience the edges slightly lifting after you wash your face? 3. I currently have a tapered cut, so there's no hair at the nape to adjust a pin or the comb. Since I won't have hair back there for a while, how else can I keep the wig secure? 4. LAST question, do you have a video to show us how to customize a frontal wig that's too big?

Faith McFadden: This video is GOLDDDDD , came just in time cause my wig just came yesterday <3 Thank you for this. Will be trying step3 for sure.

LNB13: Girl since quarantine started I’ve been installing my own wig and having these issues..how’d yk?

Kylay Michelle: I do agree with the freeze spray method bc I used to low-key breakout around the hairline and I would always wonder why. I realized that alcool, in general, is dry out product period, whether its the skin or hair. So around my hairline, the alcohol would dry out my skin so much that it eventually just led to bumps. So now I only use it if I'm going somewhere for a short amount of time and if I'm applying my 6x6 closure wig or if I'm doing a ponytail(which I need to stop using it for that too).

Melody Song: Such valuable information every hairstylist should know! Thank you so much for sharing!

Robin Hudson: I'm brand new to doing wigs and you just taught me so much!!! Thank you!!!

Derykah Johnson: Thank you for being so detailed for beginners like myself

N̳o̳v̳a̳ 🌎🤮: Hi Erika...thank you for the suggestions. I tried it and noticed a positive difference on my scalp. the freeze spray method was killing my scalp a few days in with the glue and cap pulling . The method you suggested is a Better method. I do not have a hair dryer can you suggest a faster method to dry the ball cap besides a hair dryer or blow dryer? Thanks

The Vlog Life: I will be buying your products because my Momma and I worked hard to keep my edges. I’m doing my first install on myself and your products sound better than anything else I’ve seen online

Tiera Williams: I’m just going to do my own hair from now on I learn so much from watching your videos ❤️

Jacklyn St.Clair: Your the reason my hair don't look a hot mess. I learnt a lot from you. I constantly get compliments❤

Michelle Woods: Thank you for teaching the truth alcohol is drying and damages the hair. Sister girl I love you and your channel and I can not wait to use your product I order. This is my first time I am so excited

Syn Challenger: I'm so grateful for this tutorial. The 3rd method has changed my life. Its so secure it cut my install time in half. I'm so grateful

Claudia Howard: Thanks for this !!!! Used your last method and it was such a difference for me !

Calaya Kizer: “I was born with a big ass head” It was the baby pic for me big forehead appreciation tap in

Spritual And healthy: I’m ready to learn wow thank you erika❤️girl you help me too rescue and to save my edges

Progress Over Perfection: let me just say... i followed Ericas method (she shows I think 3 methods, I did the one she was doing on herself) and HUNNAY! That wig was on. it was on like donkey kong! My wigs NEVER last a two days, I can never get it right but this wig lasted over a week and was still STRONG! i don't even like to keep wigs on like that I was crying taking it off. It was SECURE!
